Any 5cumder1and fans who want to say that we're "only" in the Europa League.
I'd stop arguing that seeing as the winners of that competition completely turned over Chelsea tonight.
Slightly disappointed with the lack of transfer activity, I think we'll get a couple in January. Maybe Douglas as he's in the final year of his contract.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Just means if you meet them you will get tonked as well!

Agree1 Disagree2

You'd give your right nut to be in our position so shut up, makem.

Agree0 Disagree0

One thing is certain SMB YOU WILL NEVER MEET THEM with no new signings we will still finish 20 points ahead of you lot again have a nice day lol.

Is this a sign of an owner not backing his manager. If anyone has earned an owners backing its pards. Unless ashley is keeping his options open he has to give pards the money to push the club forward

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Why should he back him he is there as a yes man nothing else, doesnt matter what he wants if MA doesnt want pardew wont get , he will sack him once he pays off the money he owes ashley from the casino

There's a lot of people defending the lack of investment and there's a lot foaming about it. Can people honestly say we have a better squad now than we did at the end of last season? agree if its stronger, disagree if weaker/the same.
in my honest opinion we have an excellent first 11 but haven't improved, whereas most other clubs have.

Believable1 Unbelievable4

We've lost Guthrie, Best, Lovenkrands and others. Not world class players, but good servants and they need to be replaced in one shape or form. And we're in Europe so extra demands on the squad, we needed some bodies in tonight.

Agree1 Disagree0

We ll be fine stronger in mid and def yeah short up front but will probably play 4 3 3 only playing 1 forward with 2 wingers

Agree0 Disagree0

We've got midfield cover in, lets not forget marvuex is back from injury in my opinion it's like a new signing (but he seems like he might be one to throw toys out of the pram when not picked) striker wise, we have campbell who is highly rated and i think could do with a loan spell in the championship to gain some first team experience. we also have vuckic who can play striker, and Ben arfa if desperate. As a Newcastle Fan I actually hate the summer deadline day. I start the day all optimistic, and I should know better!

only half time in super cup and falcao has a hatrick wot a player., expect big bid in januray for him.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

Not from us! Any player we buy in Jan wont be playing in europe anyway!

Agree0 Disagree0

Aye - pity it won't come from us. Now that Roman has garnered another £3bn in the court case no doubt he''l have him on his radar.
Sometimes feel that we should all just pack it in.

31 Aug 2012 19:42:06
i'd take some1 actually going in for Tiote/Cabs/HBA just so Newcastle can be a part of transfer deadline day! i kid of course.... At least January window should be eventful :)

Believable0 Unbelievable2

Yeah - jam tomorrow - heard it before.
By the time the window comes around though there may be no bread to go with it.

£3m net spend this summer. if no body else is signed by 11pm. Ashley has shown he has no ambition at all. I mean, does he want to showcase his tacky signs to the world or not? if he's not gunna spend a decent amount of money to give us depth at least, then he really should just sell up before the fans come back with pitchforks. Ashely, us fans need a trophy and/or championsleague. 52,000 fans each week, where is all that money going? pete.

It's incredibly frustrating supporting Newcastle sometimes. I like the way the club is run to be self sustainable, but we NEED to show some ambition or we'll turn into Arsenal (shudder). With just an extra 1-2 million on our offers we could have signed Douglas and Debuchy, who would have been good buys. We cannot expect to perform at the same level with a net spending of 3 million, dig deep Mike otherwise you'll end up losing more on sponsorship, TV and European football deals.

victor wanyama from celtic due in for medical. 6.5 million. hope this doesnt mean a goodbye to tiote {Ed052's Note - that is too little. A 7m bid from Arsenal was rejected}

31 Aug 2012 18:29:07
I really hope we can sign a defender before the transfer deadline shot down. Come on Pardew sign one!

Really disapointed with the lack of quality signings this season,and if we dont sign anyone by 11pm tonight and end up losing any of our star players i personally think were going to struggle this season,;0(Any word of any players being linked with the toon like edd) {Ed052's Note - No}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

31 Aug 2012 17:08:51
Newcastle looking into possibly signing another left back or right back before the end of the transfer window possibly kyle walker or micah ri

Believable0 Unbelievable3

31 Aug 2012 17:06:56
We aint getting any players in, but we will be losing a top player. What are we gonna do when they leave for ACON in Jan? With the Europa/capital 1/FA and premier league we are f*****d

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Senegal still have a play off yet. so do ivory coast so not 100 per cent theyl make it

Agree0 Disagree0

They are playing each other, so it'll either be Tiote or the two Dembas who can't play - not both.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Aug 2012 14:13:53
We should have gone for Danny Rose seen him a couple of times last year and he looked quality even though against our policy for loans but it would have been good cover! {Ed013's Note - Good, young player}

Believable3 Unbelievable2

Tottenham probably wouldn't have given him to us, he wouldn't have been a definite starter and we should be really competing with them.

Agree0 Disagree0

Drawn in the Europa League group stages with Club Brugges from Belgium, Bordeaux from France, and Maritimo from Portugal.

Decent draw, considering we could have had Anzhi, Atletico Madrid, Inter Milan, Marseille or Sporting Lisbon (among others).

Reckon we'll come second in that group, think Bordeaux will come first.

Believable1 Unbelievable2

Dont think we will have strong enough squad to compete in Europa

Agree3 Disagree1

{Ed052's Note - A new profile on Leandro Damiao has been posted, which you may be interetsed in, as he is a great talent; http://www.player-profiles.co.uk/leandro-damiao.php

We should go for Dempsey even though he is a bit too old for us. {Ed052's Note - he will go to Liverpool}

Mancini hoping to sign upto 5 players today plus Rodwell and Sinclair. I know we are not Man city with there dosh but clearly they are not resting on their laurels of having won the Premier league. I wish Ashley would show the same commitment and some ambition to maintain a chance of finishing between 4th and 6th, as Pardew said Champions league football is where the money is 4th is well up for grabs this season.

I don't want or expect us to make silly signings like we have in the past. But we have been interested in Debuchy for months and he wants to play for us sometimes you have to pay the money to get the right man. They can't all be snips especially now is widely broadcast about the great deals we have done over the last 18 months like Cabaye, Tiote and Cisse. Look at Fergie he's paid a lot for RVP at his age and injury record but he knows he has a better chance competing with rvp than without.

Need to sign 3 players today Fullback centre half and striker (Remy please is club wants to sell him). £25 Million spend approx we got £15mil sponsorship from Virgin plus sky money for fifth (which is rising considerably this season).

I think it's time Pardew started banging on his door demanding or we will in the next 12 months start losing our best players who will be getting bewildered by our lack of ambition.

Other teams will suss us out we need other options.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Careful now - talk like that will have sensitive petals coming on accusing you of risking us going into oblivion like Rangers, Leeds and Portsmouth.

Agree2 Disagree1

There's a big gap between net spending of THREE MILLION and going to administration, surely there's a compromise?!

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Aug 2012 11:53:14
any transfers brewing ed? {Ed052's Note - Not for Newcastle by the looks fo it}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Net spending of 3 million and we're supposed to compete in 4 competitions this year? Brilliant...

2 players injured last night how fragile does that make our team ? spend a bit money for god sake Mr Ashley ...i read this morning that pardew is gonna have a chat with his chairman about getting A player in i think he should be telling him to go out and get him at least two players in ...whats your thoughts people ...geordie tom

Believable3 Unbelievable0

I think unless there is a real problem with ma finances that we don't know about ten it will be an absolute disgrace not to at least plug the gaps where we obviously need them, not asking for world beaters even just some depth so if we do lose a player we can adequately compensate, our 1st 11 is awesome and if we had some good squad players that can fill one or 2 injury places i see no reason we can't repeat last year!

GeordieScott

Agree1 Disagree0

Surely the up and coming youngsters from the clubs youth policy will be more than good enough

31 Aug 2012 11:21:37
With all these players 'set to sign for us' we will have a brand new team by 11pm!

Keep them coming lads, at least they are giving me a laugh.. ;)

Believable0 Unbelievable0

31 Aug 2012 11:19:48
regardless of ryan taylors injury we will not sign a defender.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

31 Aug 2012 11:19:05
we are not going to get anyone today if we manage to keep all our players pardew will ay its been a successful window because we kept hold of some great players i am getting a bit sic of it to be honest we have a billionaire in charge but teams who are skint still manage to bring in players, i know were trying to run the club right financially by you need to spend a bit to be successful and fat mike should know this

Believable2 Unbelievable0

31 Aug 2012 11:16:32
I hope i regret this so i hope ashley proves me wrong but imagine if we were bought by someone like tony fernandez who will just let you splash out as much cash as you want. Think of what deals we could of tied up by now:
Remy (really hope this happens anyway)
Douglas
Debuchy
if we had someone like tony fernandez we could really push for champions league with lots of money!!!

Believable1 Unbelievable3

31 Aug 2012 10:45:04
I hate to say it but i hope ashley proves me wrong before the transfer window shuts. if we had a new owner like tony fernandes who will just let you splash out as much cash as you want, think of the players we could of signed by now:
Remy (hope he does sign before the end even with ashley
douglas
debuchy and probs more

Believable2 Unbelievable3

Think how much crap QPR will be in if Fernandes leaves though. Same with all clubs who are spending beyond their means.

I'm happy with the way the club is being run at the moment. Obviously we'd all love a 20mil signing, but I'd much rather the club is financially sound.

I dont think Remy would ever come to us, he needs to be playing Champion's League week in, week out.

Anyone who signs a player with more than one agent deserves to be messed about, I'm glad we didn't sign Douglas, he'd cause havoc.

De Jong didnt want to come to us, preferred the Bundesliga. Nothing we could do about that.

Debuchy is the only stickler. I know we like to stick to our valuations, but Debuchy is the one player I wish we'd pushed the boat out for, even selling Simpson on to cover the extra fee.

Agree3 Disagree1

I do not want an owner at Newcastle who just hands out blank cheques, A club loses its identity and soul that way, I just want a good owner who buys the players we obviously need. I really do not understand what the point in having Graham Carr is if we do not have money to buy good players he spots, I do not think any of the targets that Carr has pulled out for the club have had crazy prices on their heads.

Agree2 Disagree0

31 Aug 2012 09:30:31
if the windows shuts and we dont sign a striker surely that means we will play with one striker most of the season ,we only have 3 and one of those is shola whos always injured.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

Ben Arfa can play as the number 10, Cabaye has experience there. Can always throw Campbell in for a couple of games.

Steve

Agree2 Disagree1

31 Aug 2012 09:02:23
Have a feeling we may lose one of our main players today Cabaye , Tiote or Coloccinni if the right offer comes in for them {Ed013's Note - My money is on Cabaye leaving}

Believable1 Unbelievable2

If Cabaye was going somewhere it would have been before now, Deals for worldclass players are rarely concluded last minute, The only deals that go through at the end are the deals with players near the end of contracts or last minute haggling over back up players.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Aug 2012 09:10:49
We wont be signing anyone, Its the same again but i think aslong as we dont lose anyone we will be alrite.

Another quiet day expected with a total spend of 2 million so far. This for me shows the lack of ambition by the board even the are spending and looks like there going to get dempsey. Let down again we needed another 3 players to keep the squad buzzing shay must our big players be thinking
