Not expecting much this season we'll be lucky to get 12th spot, teams that I think are stronger than us:
Arsenal
Chelsea
Everton
Hull
Liverpool
Man City
Man U
Southampton
Stoke
Swansea
Tottenham

We have a better team than a couple of these clubs but every team in this list has a better manager. Managers who send their teams out with structure, purpose and confidence the complete opposite to our manager.

If Colo gets a bad injury and is out for a while and then Williamson picks up a short term injury or a three match suspension we'll probably end up with a centre back pairing of Taylor and Dummett which would probably concede five or six goals to a blind U10s side.

We've replaced ten players with seven and we could still lose Tiote to a Russian or Turkish club.

It's obvious now that the club never intended to do anymore business than what was needed to get people into the stadium and after seeing the home crowds against City and Palace they realised they could get away with signing no more players and could rely on the fans blind loyalty to the club.

I agree with your assessment and think 12th is optimistic based on the performances so far.

the team lacks any real purpose. We have kept possession well and actually not had too many threats against us even against city. but we are useless when we don't have the ball and lack any sort of leadership. a few years back we at least had nolan and barton who would inject some passion and enthusiasm into the team. I don't see that at all in our current team.

If we do get rid of pardew I'd like to see steve bruce or stuart pearce get the job. Pro's who know what it means to the supporters to just wqtch their team give their best!

Agree0 Disagree0

Add to that list Villa and Burnley Leicester ( who know the agony of relegation. & Blunderland who also know that sinking feeling

We as we stand one of the relegation favourites BUT getting a result at Southampton could change that (well on some peoples minds)

I'm actually sick of pardew now, the fact that he's hounded two of our best players out of the club is disgusting. The fact that a champions league/serie a club wanted m'biwa makes a statement itself!

I'm tired of watching dire football week in week out, i'm tired of watching us struggle against the likes of palace and losing derbies, i'm tired of pardew not being able to get the best/manage flair players, constantly playing players out of position. All these signings, I can tell you now, are graham carr signings, if carr wasn't here, we'd be watching the likes of bent every week.

All these players have declined under pardew and were regarded as highly talented before they came to us:

M'Biwa-Captained montpellier to the ligue 1 title at the age of 22, comes to us to cover right and left back. PARDEWED.

Sissoko-The next patrick viera, a box to box midfielder who won young french player of the year, comes to us and gets play right mid and CAM, looks half the player he was. PARDEWED.

Cisse-Second top goalscorer in germany, has a good start with us, then pardew decides to play him as a target man and on the right wing. PARDEWED.

Gouffran-Scored 14 goals in one season for bordeaux as a striker. Comes to us to get played as a left midfielder to cover the left back. PARDEWED.

Marveaux-Almost went to liverpool before us, a very neat and silky player as a CAM, comes to us to get played as a right midfielder, looks half the player he was at Rennes. PARDEWED.

Anita-He became one of Ajax's most versatile and key players, played at CDM, RB and LB, looked very good, looks a completely different player with us. PARDEWED.

I want pardew gone, and the decisions made last night were the final straw. I wanted to back him, but i've last all respect for him now.

IMO its a no brainer to replace Pardew with a top young modern coach. We need to move along with the times, like Everton have done with Martinez, like Spurs have done with Pochettino, even like Sunderland with Poyet. No more Pulis/Moyes, they are dinosaurs in football and are a sidestep to pardew in terms of quality and brand of football.

Frank de Boer is the perfect manager. He has in fact spoken highly of us before, "I see opportunities at the sleeping giants of england, at Liverpool, Spurs and Newcastle" he can work on Ashley's budget, and also his knowledge of the youth academy would really benefit us and Ashley.

Surely if Ashley wants to continue this regime, it makes sense to get a manager like FDB, who can introduce a new brand of exciting football right to the grass roots of the club, start recycling players with the youth academy, and not having to spend millions. FDB is the man who can keep the profits coming for ashley and make us a successful club. He could essentially make us The Ajax of England, which i'd be more than happy with to be honest as long as it brings us those top 7 finishes and cup runs, and possibly cup success. The problem is, will ashley see this and will FDB want to leave Ajax mid season? Carr does a lot of scouting in Holland, maybe he might recommend him to Ashley.

For me Frank de boer is the only one who has the motive and strong personality to work under this regime, and he's the only one good enough.

Sorry for the long post, just had to get it all out.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

No manager of any integrity will ever come to replace Pardew Ashley only understands money and any one will only consider this job if the money is great

Worse when we try in January to avoid relegation no decent pkayers will be interested and if they are it will be for money and lot's of it

Agree0 Disagree0

100% behind you JToon

who loans out a CB with no cover for him

Ben Arfa out of contact at end of season sent out on loan until then, then will go for nothing

Agree0 Disagree0

A great post Jtoon. You have really summed up exactly how I feel. It is sad but I almost want to see us lose and get into trouble so Ashley is forced to act.

Your idea on FDB is a great one, perhaps graham carr and lee charnley can persuade ashley. If not then Steve Bruce or Stuart Pearce could do a good job for us.

If Ashley's business model is to buy cheap and develop then he clearly has the wrong manager and coaching team in place.

If his business plan is to bring the club down then The only other candidate for the job would be allardyce!

Agree0 Disagree0

Talk about hitting the nail on the head Jtoon!

Totally agree

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes, we all want Pardew out and a real manager in, but Bruce? Pearce? Remember Agent Bruce down the road? And I thought the only man who could do the job was Laudrup. Fact is, we're stuck with P45 for the time being so the constant whinging and speculating, while understandable, is just a waste of time. The transfer business will keep the gullible masses turning up for the time being, and I think we should give the new lads time to gel before the usual doom and gloom gets out of hand.

Agree0 Disagree0

Vic I have never been a doom and gloom merchant. the reality of the situation is Pardew should have gone when he head butted meyler.
He crossed a line whereby players no longer will look up to him or respect him. If your boss acted the way Pardew does I'm sure you'd look for another job and you certainly wouldn't turn up for work committed to giving your all.
we have a good squad but the players lack any direction. I agree we need to give them time, just look at Man utd, but they have a manager who commands respect and has a clear vision of how he wants the team to play.
I'm not sure what Pardew has. I am accepting that we are in a bad spot right now and Pardew based on his past results is not the man to turn it round. In 3 seasons we have not seen much progression, indeed we have seen our bst players go backwards or leave. In any other profession you would have been sacked long ago, yet we give him 30m to spend?

Agree0 Disagree0

Desree: not getting at you personally, like all of us you're sick and frustrated, but Bruce? Signed - what was it, 14? - players then sacked by (spit) Sunderland. And what's Pearce ever done? I'm fed up with reading on here that we need Laudrup, Martinez, Bielsa - now it's De Boer. Fact is, like it or lump it, P45 won't get sacked just because we all wish it so. Two matches to save his job? I may be wrong, but Ashley stuck by him last season when things were much worse. Just guessing, but I reckon he's got at least ten matches to show that the new signings can do the business. Doom and gloom? Maybe not, but there's a lot of unthinking gloom about. For instance, what if our CB pairing by, say, November, is Good and Lascelles; what if Riviere gets off the mark and a bit of confidence? Why are some "fans" determined to piss on the season before it gets properly started?

Agree0 Disagree0

Vic the key difference is that Bruce has progressed since then. Pearce can develop young players, Martinez can produce an attractive brand of football.

What can Pardew do. Riviere is no striker from what I have seen. based on the past two seasons the defence will get worse.

When a manager loses the dressing room it is impossible to improve.

Trying to look on the positive side and this transfer window maybe a blessing in disguise. Ashley is desperate to stay in prem league. With this squad that will be one hell of a struggle. Pardew will be gone by Xmas. Surely.

"How can I make myself more unpopular than I already am?. oh I know I will loan out our best centre half and most creative player at the club, that should do it"
Objective achieved Pardew now jog on!

I feel sorry of the Newcastle fans and especially those who live and breathe this club and who have to put up with this absolute arse of an owner and a pathetic nodding dog like Pardew

It is there for all to see there was never any chance of this club signing players who were recently linked with them for the simple reason the players they not interested in coming to Newcastle united and it's made or complete smokescreen as a they had not intention of signing a striker or a centre back especially not at 15 million

I'm sure we all wish the team we have well but think in reality yes we are short of players and to critical positions.

I hope not but I think the storm starts on Saturday against Southampton but of course Ashley feels no pain or embarrassment like the fans of this team being outplayed because he is immune to football as a game

So heads up let's hope we may be in for a surprise that team is actually capable of getting results but like many I don't think this will happen and I think we will see the reverse of last season what we're going to struggle from now until January and possibly be in the lower regions of the premiership.

The age be a debacle is absolutely ridiculous. And for sure we wish him well at Hull City.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I think I understand Vida?

Agree0 Disagree0

I actually see Pardew as more of a problem than Ashley these days.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agreed geordie toon, it was pardew's choice to let M'Biwa and Benny go. Surely won't be happy that we bought MYM for £6.8mil, and are now loaning him out with a view to buy of £3.5mil.

if ashley goes no other owner would employ pardew.so its got to be ashley out first.if pardew is sacked ashley would employ another yes man

Agree0 Disagree0

You never know, Ashley could be looking at Southampton and seeing how much they made from players by bringing in Pochetino. All the players they sold on were already at the club.
JFK got sacked for not bringing in the mony for cabaye. Ashley must be spewing when we could have got 15m for HBA a couple of seasons back and have lost 4m on MYM.

Agree0 Disagree0

How true Desree, it's all about the money. As well as we've done, we could have done a lot better if it wasn't for Pardew. I think the squad we have is very good and we have Ashley, Charnley and Carr to thank for that. Now it's over to Pardew. But he can't make them play the way they should be playing. I feel technically we have a very stron squad, maybe a little light weight when coming to height and strength but can't see any Barcelona fans complaining about that.
Someone mentioned Frank de Boer, I think that's spot on, he's our level, we can't get better than him.

Agree0 Disagree0

That was me geordietoon ;)

Ashley is a man who has the resources and the business mind, he just needs professionals to run the football club properly. Someone like a de boer could be able to develop the club using the business plan, de boer has the motive and also the knowledge to develop and manage a club with financial restrictions and keeping the balance sheets good.

Agree0 Disagree0

"The age be a debacle is absolutely ridiculous" Eh? Never mind, there's more daftness surfacing here. We sign nine new players in one window, and still the whinging goes on and on. We bring in an exciting new talent like Aarons, but still the whingers don't accept that we may also have promising young defenders in Good, Satka or Streete. Why does our CB cover have to be a new signing? I'd much rather see a young talent brought through than an average journeyman like Alderweireld blocking their progress. As for strikers, the going price for a Soldado seems to be about £25 - 30m, or £20m for a Bony. I've been banging on for ages that Grahame Carr should pull his finger out and find us a couple of unproven young gems, and I'm happy to let Riviere and Chucky have game time to see if they've got what it takes. Having said that, I'm sticking to what I've said before - I'm not going back to SJP until they deliver entertaining, attacking football week in week out.

Agree0 Disagree0

Vic

People whinge because pardew is inept and does not know what's best for SDJ and Cabella, and you go on about how you'd rather see Streete or Satka developed, which I agree however pardew just won't realise this. Saylor will be 3rd in the pecking order. Its not in his history to utility the youth academy. I think it was only something like 4 apps oxlade chamberlain made under pardew at southampton, and 3 for Mark Noble when he was at west ham.

ben arfa confirmed for a season long loan to Hull, MYM off to Roma and every team around us has strengthened significantly on deadline day.

We on the other hand weaken our squad and as per usual non of the supposed targets materialise.

Yet again, what ever positivety I had for the team, manager and owner is gone in the space of two weeks.

This isn't managing a club well, it is gross negligence!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

"Supposed targets" only exist in the fevered imaginations of gutter journalists, the bloggers who recycle newspaper rumours and the gullible fools who believe this s***. And who said that Krul and Tiote were certain to be sold to line Ashley's pockets? Wrong and wrong again.
