Cabella would be a fantastic signing in my opinion, very creative and a lot of flair, similar to coutinho if you will. We need more creative players like cabella especially if Cabaye leaves

It would be interesting to see what will happen if Cabaye is sold this transfer window? Will it open the door for other players to go? Or will it give opportunity for HBA to get a run of games playing at a proper number 10? Personally I would like to keep a hold of Cabaye until the summer and hopefully he has a good world cup and his price will go up. I still think a change is needed in our transfer policy; it seems that we could invest in some young talent from our own shores, rather than keep targeting France or other cheap European countries. The other thing that still bugs me about Newcastle is our academy players and our loan policies and our coaching staff. Firstly, why have we not picked up some of Sir AF old staff at Man U? Secondly, the academy doesn't seem to work or is not cost effective and why we have loaned players out who should NOW be pushing for the first team! Personally I think there is a lot of dead wood at the club who can be sold off, but I guess now is the time for JFK to shine! I hope he has been busy agreeing transfers, cause I don't want to hear how difficult it was to bring someone in "over the line". Deals, should be more or less done by now.

The only thing I would defend Ashley with is that he has spent money, just not the mega bucks you want him to. I think its trying to separate what can be done and what can’t, remember a bad worker will always blame his tools. Ashley’s failure is around PR and keeping the fans informed of what is happening. You might not agree with everything he does, but we could have a much worse owner……ask Cardiff or Hull if they are happy with the changes that they have had to put up with.

I am sure that Ashley will spend money, but it won’t be the big money you would want him to spend. Long term solutions are the only way to bring success, invest in youth and keep the club in a good position in the premier league and investment in coaching. My problem with Newcastle is they are only doing one of those three……. trying to keep the club in a good position in the league, now that’s not good enough and won't bring success because its just short term thinking.

Agreed jimmy. Mike phelan is it? The old assistant manager, dunno why we didn't snap him up. And I also agree with the youth system, players like Gutierrez and Obertan should be sold to give players like ferguson and Sammy more games.
