Use our rumours form to send us newcastle transfer rumours.

02 Aug 2011 22:20:46
nolan, carroll and barton all claimed that they had been lied to by the bored and the club had lied to the press about the details of the tranfers bit of a coincidence isnt it?

Believable0 Unbelievable1

Is it also a coincidence that 2 have already left and got bigger contracts and also that these 3 were the ones always causing the club trouble with their exploits Carroll and nolan were teetering on the edge for months before they went and now JB wants out cos his mates have gone Its no fun by yourself is it joey? i for one wont be sad to see the back of him Too tempramental and a risk at all times

Agree0 Disagree0

just thinking newcastle are a joke they have got not 1 good player in they have just sold our 2 top goal scores (nolan&carrol) now barton on free transfer i think the fans should stop going to the games so they can get rid of mike ashley have you seen how many players sunderland have , disgrace

Believable3 Unbelievable4

Would you actually want any of the players sunderland have signed ?? Has beens and mediocre championship players, it hasn't exactly moved them onto the next level.

Agree4 Disagree3

Lets think about this logically,
1 35 million far too much to turn down.
2 Nolan wanted an unrealistic contratct, which only West Ham were desperate enough to give him.
and finally Barton, who is another footballer who threw his dummy out of the pram when he didn't get what he wanted. This bloke should have been thrown out years ago. THUG
The problem i have is the lack of communication to the fans and most importantly the need to buy a striker and left back at the very least...... COME ON MR ASHLEY SPEND SOME CASH

Agree6 Disagree0

Sunderland bought up and coming talent, players who excelled in the prem last season. all prem teams pick the cream of relegated sides and the big four were in for the players aswell. who have you bought BUT more importantly "who" have you sold..... only every player that might of kept you up. get the blyth spartan posters back up lads, cos the geordie posters are only good for the bin. FTM

Agree2 Disagree0

I am a big Newcastle fan and I would love to have some of the Sunderland signings. People that say otherwise is just full of it. I believe the word is jealousy

Agree4 Disagree4

Lol id rather sign fak all than the players they signed oshea, brown who...? didnt they not play for utd? plenty of time left lads Long, Barnetta, M'Bengue

Agree1 Disagree3

You are obviously a sensible person. I take my hat off to the safc heirachy for the ambition shown there. We are going to struggle this season and they will finish along way above us. Disallusioned mag.

Agree3 Disagree2

Only SAFC player i would of taken was whickham As for them buying up and coming talent thats just daft Couple are 30 and couple others approaching 30 so how are they up and coming?

Agree1 Disagree1

To do well you blend youth and experience, taking a pop coz they nearly 30 or over doesn't mean they poor players they have experience which they will pass onto the younger lads. A sensible person would know that

, as far as barton goes, i think he is entitled to his opinion but he shouldnt have went public the way he did, good luck for next season lads, i hope your problems get sorted if only for north east football, as the North East derby should be on the big stage .

I don't know why we haven't bid for Joel Campell he fits the transfer policy 19 years old would only cost £1m and has bags of potential

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Maybe because Arsenal, Real Madrid and Man Utd want him

Agree1 Disagree0

Wont get a work permit.
Arsenal intend to loan him out to get around this, just like they did with carlos vela.

Whether you are for or against MA and the way the club is currently being run I for one am getting sick and tired of players using twitter to make it public of what they feel and think. If any of us fans were to publically slag off our employers I'm sure we know where that would lead. I was a fan of JB before all of this but he has over stepped the mark and clearly shown once again how disruptive he can be, which is not good for the teams morale at the moment. I also can't wait to see the Enrique saga sorted out once and for all as he again is being an absolute pain in backside. Any player that doesn't wish to play for the club and can't keep their mouth shut should go. MA still needs to put his hand in his pocket though for the sake of ensuring that we remain a Premiership club at the end of next season.....

Believable4 Unbelievable0

Why don't we do what some other clubs are doing and ban players from twitter?

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont you just love mike ashley lol. ftm

which player in there right mind is now going to come to newcastle. barton and enrique have made the club a laughing stock. the task of attracting players seemed hard enough but now i cant see any player from europe or premiership coming. the best option looks like trying to get players from league 1 and championship who want to prove they can make it. long gradel just a couple to mention

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Is this your 2 best players that u had and you all thought brilliant players that you are now slagging off, h i bet you were singing there names at the last game, and dont come back on saying you always thought they were no good, cause you would be talking S***, SGB

spin doctors. smoke screens chinese whispers..look bartons gone he got his wish can we move on. we can all speculate about who we are going to buy .the people in power at the club dont even know themselvs ffs.ED you heard out on the grapevine m8.....geordie tom

{Ed042's Note - Haha tom lad, good point killed by asking me.. the people in power at the club dont even know themselves.. but Ed? haha... nah mate nothing really, as I said yesterday it will be tomorrow or thursday before anything of substance comes out re - targets... the spin doctors are a bit outside the age bracket we are looking tbh... smokescreen is an amazing talent but all depends on whether he wants to leave the shaolin monks, and chinese whispers, hes a good player but not vocal enough on the pitch!}

based on our clubs behaviour i believe this window Barton Enrique Smith Routledge all to go sadly even worse news is perch will stay we might sign 1 more player before start of season as "our youth is good enough" our signing/signings will be of the scapheap of other clubs as they pick out the best of the best and we collect their dreggs
(at long last dissillusioned Dan)

I think we should make a bid for Andres Guardado. Only 24 and has 72 caps for Mexico. Playes with Deportivo who were relegated last season in La Liga.

He can play on both wings and surely would'nt be too expensive considering the clubs current position.

Seen him play in La Liga and was impressed.

Been reading alot about Joey barton as well as readers comments, amazed how quick fans turn especially on the blog after the NUFC Spin Doctors make it all to appear to be his fault. For me if i was in the position financially and had other option/teams why not tell a lousy boss to bring some players in to compete for top six. Everyone knows we have a large transfer fund sitting in ashley's pockets and none has been spent. Jose and Barton speak out against it because they wanna win, and Countless readers bash them in the comment sections of various articles. Completely dont understand, the only to bring about change with Ashley is publicly

i think we should go and try to sign shawn wright phillips or johnson on loan from Man city both cant play every week and surly one of them would want to get regular first team football in the premier league, i know we are not a very good prospect at the minute for players with all the crap going on but that can only be sorted by getting some good players in and getting some good results early on. We all want Ashley out but all the talk of a takeover is utter crap he is making a fortune at the minute with shirt sales and season tickets and T.V money why would he sell

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Wpuld love them both but we couldnt afford their wages on ashleys new system plus adam johnson is a mackem and steve bruve wants him at sunderland so he would go there

Agree1 Disagree2

Adam johnson is a Newcastle fan this has been mentioned hundreds of times on this site, check it out its true

Agree2 Disagree0

He aint a mackem and why would he go there? Ah cos he in manchester and SAF is there and he close to SB load of crap

Ok people I have just been listening to Keys and Gray's interview with Freddy Shepard live on Talk Sport and would like to read out 1 of the conversations.

Andy Gray - "Freddy, why do you think Newcastle have offered Joey Barton to clubs for free when they could still probably get a couple of million for him even in the current circumstances"

Freddy Shepard - "Well Andy I think Mike Ashley just wants to get rid of him now with all the carry on that's been going on and to be honest Mike Ashley has got a huge amount of money, therefore 1-2m is nothing to him and would rather just release Joey as soon as possible".

1-2m is nothing to him? Well you could have fooled me the way this transfer window is going

Just thought I'd let everyone know what is actually being said by people in the know.

Geo

Believable5 Unbelievable0

Haha 1 or 2 mil is nothing to him but the main reason for that is because he is not spending any money so doesnt have a need to recoup any im sure sports direct is more important.

Why does Ashley not try a straight swap for Barton?.
Better that than just let him go.
At least we would have a replacement.
Come on Lads lets have some names you would like for the swap..

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Well let's go by clubs who are interested and who we could swap him with.

Now that Barton is on his way out the door to join Nolan, maybe Cattermole at Scumderland will take his nappy off and play against the Toon cos his masters wont be there to scare the s**t out of him. Just a thought.

Believable4 Unbelievable2

02 Aug 2011 12:17:04
Right, a new day and all that. My worries now, are our first team players might be thinking: ' You know what, what the f*** am I doing here?'. I would not blame them. Ashley promised to strengthen the squad, the club would sort contracts out, etc...

In honesty: Pardew is a poor manager and not much respected by pro players for his management. Add to the fact, how did he get the job? By owing money at the Casino. What a joke. Is that the way to run a club?
Barton is stupid for posting what he does, but also it must be frustrating the players when no signings are made after the promises.
Again, opening the papers to see our once great club be shown as a circus. I am fed up of it
Ashley, now if your staying, your going to have spend money, otherwise with our small squad we will struggle when injuries (And Tiote will be banned at least a couple of times) hit. Gutted at the state of things.

think its an absolute joke about the barton situation. ashley really needs to put his hands in his pocket to get the newcastle fans back on side, although i cant see that happening. really would like to see a bid for shaun wright philips as a replacement and even possibly someone like bellamy up front. any thoughts people??

Believable0 Unbelievable3

When will newcastle fans stop linking the club with big name players . you cannot pay the wages they will require mad max

Agree1 Disagree2

Its called hoping mate All fans hope of a big name even the mackems But none of us up ere seem to get them anymore

Shocked at the sudden sacking of J.Barton, especially with the likes of Arsenal and Spurs interested in the combative midfielder. Rumours were both clubs were going to offer in the region of £5m as he was in the last year of his contract

He was in the top 2 best players for NUFC K.Nolan being the better JUST and you got rid of him also(NOT looking good for this season). Its a shame as although he was a nuisance he was and remains loyal to NUFC and was playing the best football of his career.

Cant help thinking M.Ashley has alteria motives (Club sale hopefully).

Spurs Fan

Believable5 Unbelievable0

Barton loyal? You having a laugh I guess. Barton has done this to force a move ASAP. Don't believe for one minute that barton actually thought that the club would just let him say the things he has he knew what would happen.

Agree0 Disagree1

02 Aug 2011 10:39:57
If we actually had a decent owner we would be able to improve on last season, but now its looking that were closer to relegation because were missing players in key areas. So far none of the £35 has been spent on buying players, all on their wages and with jose and routledge departing we will have made money this summer??
If mike ashley actually spent the money the players we could have had would easily have had us fighting for a top 8 position.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

Mike ashley HAS tried to spend the money, problems being 1) Newcastle are unfortunatley not an atractive option to most players at the moment (no europe, bottom half finishers etc) 2) if you want big names you pay big money which unfortunatley means big wages, £15m+ superstars won't come to newcastle for 30k per week. it's all a balancing act, trying to wheel and deal and buid for the future, unfortunately we dont have the pulling power we once did so it'll take time.

Agree2 Disagree2

02 Aug 2011 10:28:54
Now the real truth of the Barton affair is coming out thanks to Willie McKay it is clear he was sacked by Alan Pardew for insulting him and his team mates
This is deja vu , he did the same to his team and his manager AS after being sent off against Liverpool.
Result he was warned about his future conduct and suspended for the final 3 games.
At long last we are bringing some discipline into our club that successful teams like Man U take for granted.

Believable6 Unbelievable0

02 Aug 2011 10:16:03
We hired Alan Pardew because he is well known to Ashley and has been brought in as head coach, no more.
We are getting rid of Joey Barton because he's a gobsh*ite. He wants CL football and let his mouth go to make sure he went on the cheap (cleverly making sure to tell the fans how special we are so we don t turn on him next season when he s at arsenal)
We got rid of Kevin Nolan because the club would no longer put up with his alcohol problems, sick of getting phone calls from random bars in Ponteland the night before matches saying 'Come collect your captain because he has had 20 pints wont leave, and we don t want to call the police'.

When you look at it like this, I don t think we are a crisis club at all, think people need to stop panicking.

Believable3 Unbelievable4

Mcgrath robson steve bruce all big drinkers at man utd mcgrath used to go benders for weeks at a go and never trained but saf never sacked these lads as he knew how good they were on the field.

I'm very shocked to hear that Joey Barton has been given a free transfer. After his troubles this lad has put everything into this club. He's put his head down on the pitch and has shown true maturity, what more could you ask for Half of these foreigners are here for the money and nothing else.

Believable1 Unbelievable3

02 Aug 2011 09:30:03
we arnt going to sign anyone pardew said 1 more signing need more than that relegation this year

Believable0 Unbelievable1

He said that before we lost barton, now were after barnetta and a striker and were after a replacmet for jose. and we wont get relegated have faith, are new players are good. dont get me wrong im gutted we lost barton (espiecally), carroll and nolan but we need to get over it. and barton might still stay for another season out of spite?

Well guys our whole page is covered in comments relating to Joey Barton and the terrible way in which this whole situation has been dealt with.

I'm fed up of hearing about it now, so thought I would put a couple of potential transfer targets on to try and lighten the mood. (good luck me)

Mauro Zarate - With the new signings of Miroslav Klose and Djibril Cisse and the current forward line of Sergio Floccari and captain Tommaso Rocci means Zarate has fallen down the pecking order.

Don't know if anyone remembers him at Birmingham but he was pretty impressive and scores for Lazio as well. Maybe a bid of 6-9m?

Mladen Petric - This guy is doing an Enrique with Hamburg. Year left on contract and is stalling on an extension. Yes he is 30 but for some experience and a deft left peg maybe a bid on the cheap would secure his services?

I know there is going to be a barrage of replies to this with phrases such as 'keep dreaming' and 'deluded' in the current situation but maybe Barton going is the key to the club spending a bit?

I'm probably wrong but getting fed up with all the pessimism (justified) and want to see us make some correct decisions for a change.

Geo

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Zarate would be an exceptional signing, but with out a doubt we need to see at least 2 new faces coming in

as a sunderland fan i cant help but laugh at the state of your club and some of the posts on here. as a football fan i am amazed the way ashley keeps upsetting the fans. as a succesful business man you would have thought with barton the best thing to do would have placed him on transfer list saying he can go to highest bidder then if you get 1 or 2 million it would have gone towards paying collos wages for a season. also i hope your club is sorted out as i think the north east need the derby games and with this termoil in the club its going to be a long hard season and relegation could be a real factor.
one gary rowell

Believable1 Unbelievable2

We will be sorted by the second game just u watch the players there atm are still good enough to beat a genuine relagation candigate in sunderland

Agree1 Disagree1

What a muppet, how can you say we are a genuine relagation candidate, we have strengthened our team, have you the answer is NOOOOOO, or were u saying that you's are relagation canditates because that would be more realistic, you havent a hope in hell of beating us the second game of the season, because the heart of your team has gone, no one left to lead you's on the pitch, enjoy your struggle in the bottom 3.

Agree1 Disagree0

Disillusioned lads ye most probably never been to sjp or even a football game. who have ye replaced ye best players with untried french lads. nolan barton carrol next enrique and collocini wheres tiote is visa a smokescreen when he comes back to england if he does most probably a different club and also marveaux is he homesick already your in deep s**t and its gonna get worse. and if you cant see what is going on and happy with what you got then your in for a big shock as the team you start the first game with would struggle in championship. more doom and gloom forecast while big ash in charge he must be a mackem in disguise.

And get unfit and injured forward and 3 players which ain't proven, face it toon we are going to fighting these year {Ed001's Note - he is Llambias puppet, not Ashley. It was Llambias who brought him in because of a debt owed from his casino.}
