Predictions for the derby? My head says another Sunderland win which I couldn't stand. But my heart says we could spring a surprise, nothing less than a dominant win will make up for the previous derby losses

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Go with your head, 3-1 or 3-0 to us Mackems

Agree0 Disagree0

Jtoon I don't know why you think that. They are not second bottom of the league for nothing. can't see anything other than us turning them over

Agree0 Disagree0

Because they will fight and kick anything that moves Poyett is despearte for a win before he does a Di Cnio and is sacked

Agree0 Disagree0

6-0

De jong 10min hat trick
HBA 1/2 way line mazey run then a postage stamp drill
Debouch 30yard screamer
N then Williamson (albert type chip)

Agree0 Disagree0

Largey those scorelines clearly haven't come out of your head. I would say more likely your ass. Like I say your not second bottom for nothing.

Agree0 Disagree0

Actually good point fnuklnuk

Agree0 Disagree0

Nothing less than a thrashing will make up for our two losses to the worst team in the league

So Remy sent off today, Does anyone know if it will be a 1 or 3 game suspension? Also I hope we challenge it, he didn't even head but him and Johnson dived.

Hopefully Cisse will be back for Saturday as REMY won't there and De Jong might not get permission or might be on bench. Also I hope Armstrong is on the bench again, surely he is better then Shola Ameobi.

Sammy Ameobi looks lightweight and not ready but more importantly Where was GOUFFRAN?

Hopefully we appeal about REMY and it gets overturned.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I think it's a 3 match ban for violent conduct & although their player overreacted there was contact so doubt it will even be overturned. Tbh ill be surprised if decide to appeal!
Shola it is then!: (

Agree0 Disagree0

Lots of people doubting Shola, we all know he likes to play sunderland ;)

Agree0 Disagree0

He ain't scored a prem goal since 2012.

Agree0 Disagree0

Nothing happened to shelvey and he did same to debouchy

Agree0 Disagree0

They aren't appealing it for some reason, obv confident of De Jong deal.

In my opinion, we won't miss Remy one bit in the derby, as long as we get de jong on loan. We need players who will give heart, not mercenaries. Can't believe we hit the woodwork 3 times, but it looks like ben arfa has been given a kick up the backside by pardew, and played well in the free role.

My lineup for the derby:

Krul
Debuchy/Taylor/Williamson/Santon
Anita/Tiote
Sissoko/Ben Arfa/Marveaux
De Jong

Believable0 Unbelievable0

But I would also be happy for the ameobi brothers to start, sammy played well and shola will be fired up and will want to prove himself. Play a high pressing game, excite the crowd, but most importantly we need to start brightly and score FIRST AND EARLY.

Agree0 Disagree0

De Jong won't start, He might not get permission in time and he won't be Match Fit. I would of liked Armstrong to have run out today so hopefully he gets one against Sunderland. Pappis Cosse and GOUFFRAN need to be back for the derby

Agree0 Disagree0

If the Ameobi brothers start/ then that is waving the white flag. De Jong has came on as a sub 13 times this season and the MOST he has played is 20 mins in a single game. Not be up to 90 mins PLUS the fact his club have him as 5th choice? So YES we WILL miss Remy for the Derby. If the two main strikers on show are Statue Ameobi for the Toon and Dozy Barndoor for the muckems, then 0-0 is nailed on.

Agree0 Disagree0

The mackem slayer will be up for it on saturday

Agree0 Disagree0

Goufran will be back.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would rather play Campbell than shola he was awful when he came on last night

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Jan 2014 21:50:09
Played well tonight without scoring stick DeJong straight in on Saturday, I know Shola has done it before against the Mackems but he is useless and his brother is almost as bad. where is marveaux

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I reckon marveaux will start, we need players like him to get the crowd on their feet.

Agree0 Disagree0

Pardew will put a team out NOT to lose instead of going for their throats. De Jong will not be up to speed, get Gomis in now a debut him on saturday against John`o s*** and Wes Clown and he will batter them and hopefully Ben Arfa will profit

The Derby has just become a problem with the Remy sending off

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Jimmy, it hasn't become a problem. I couldn't really care less about remy, de jong will be ready if he signs. Form goes out the window, Remy was awful in the last derby, and he's already said he's not interested in staying

Agree0 Disagree0

Jtoon, Remy was prob our best threat of scoring today. DeJong won't start on Sat. It will be Shola

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Jan 2014 21:35:15
selling your best player. not good
your best striker sent off and will miss 3 games. not good
your loan player if it comes off has been voted a massive flop by the club sending him on loan. not good
wot a time to play your rivals. bring it on
I predict a 3-1 or 3-0 victory to the red n whites n riots in the Toon (again).
let the good times roll. C'MON

Believable0 Unbelievable0

All i'm going to say is, bring it on.

Flippen sammy ameobi. weakness in depth highlighted. n I can't see why saylor gets in ahead of mbwia

Believable0 Unbelievable0

2 left backs, gosling and Shola on the bench. We don't need strengthening much. What has Marveux done wrong?

A lot of people keep saying that Cabeye is not worth £20mil. Sorry but if Fellaini is worth £28mil and Mata £37mil I am sure Cabeye is worth more that £20mil.

We are going to now relying on ben Arfa for our creativity for the rest of the season but I feel he is too inconsistent.

The only way we can improve is to pay players the money as not being in champions league you can't attract good players.

Okay bring in De Jong but he is a gamble. Might as well get Gomis in if he is available for next to nothing.

Grenier looks like a great replacement for Cabeye. Very similar but much younger. Have done well if Cabella is lined up for the summer.

If we get Luuk, could that tempt Siem to come in the summer?

Pardew will probs move Sissoko into the middle and then play Ben Arfa or Remy on the right with de Jong up front. Might work. But very little creativity. Will have to hope that Sissoko turns into the yaya toure that everyone says he is.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Agreed.

Quality players sell for ridiculous prices these days. Cabaye is true quality and he's gone to PSG for only £20 million? That's madness.

With that being said, if we can get De Jong and Grenier in for that money, and they settle well, things might not be so terrible after all.

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Jan 2014 15:37:57
Why so many dolls n prams. is it really a shock that cabaye bye has gone n we have no replacement. if we weren't playing norwich 2nite this deal wouldve happened deadline day 2259. MA must be screaming. toon have no real excuse about time to put bids in For replacements

Believable0 Unbelievable0

28 Jan 2014 14:21:53
Hard luck losing Cabyebye lol, na seriously you lost your best player and replacing him with de jong, LOL, just been reported on radio de jong is the biggest flop in munchen gladbacks history, roll on saturday 3rd derby defeat in a row Boriniiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Is ya name gip as a result of the effect ya have on women or is it based on what comes outta ya mouth.

Hardley BMG biggest flop. being a squaddie who served in germany n followed BMG for 25years I can name a flop. he ain't one of em.

He just got himself in a position cisse is in. strikers nowadays don't get the chance to rediscover form

Agree0 Disagree0

Gip your rants are a bit like the mad man u just sacked useless
I think most of us would have preferred Bony or a dynamic striker
But beggars under Ashley can not be choosers
We in the other hand have not had to sign 15 players to try and catch up
Although against the grain I hope you win the Derby because if not you are in the S. te & going down

Agree0 Disagree0

What even though de Jong had a great scoring record at twente? It's ok carry on being cocky, I don't see any of your players being linked with big money moves to champions league clubs? Neither do I see you club attracting the likes of de Jong and cabella. Oh yeah, mind the gap SMB

Agree0 Disagree0

Gip, how can you come on here talking about flops when you have alitodore in your side? I would be more worried about your very unstable position in the relegation places then coming on here with your read out from your crystal ball.

Agree0 Disagree0

Dozy was top scorer in dutch league last season with 31 goals doesn't say a lot for de jong does it, we all know he s a flop, as for the 15 players we bought only 5 have been played the rest are in the under 21 side admit we have had some total clowns as managers but we have a gem now in Gus, not worried about relagation because it won't happen danni toon what has my name got to do with anything what makes you think it is even my name? and it has been reported on radio that he was the biggest flop in their history, sounds like you are all panacking about saturday its the biggest game of the season for yous, on a lighter note Dannitoon if you are a squaddie even though you are a geordie I take my hat of to you help for heroes all day long

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - you do realise De Jong was in Germany last season, right?}

Yes ed but some one mentioned he had great scoring record for FC twenty who are dutch

Agree0 Disagree0

Nice one gip.

Agree0 Disagree0

So Gus is a Gem? What about your previous boss wasn't he also a quality manager when he first arrived? Saturday is your biggest game of the season you certainly need the points more than us.

Agree0 Disagree0

De Jong has had 23apps and scored 6 goals 13 of them being sub appearances. Altidore has 1 in 20

Agree0 Disagree0

You don't lose class. sometimes its the wrong club and a dip in form. Car wanted him that's good enough for me

Agree0 Disagree0

Fnuklnuk, our previous boss is history He's gone! Saturday isn't our biggest game of the season bur it wi be 3 out of 3 for us, I think we have a little visit to wembley and the stoke game is bigger than saturday, jt bundeslige is no where near the quality of the epl

Agree0 Disagree0

19th. on goal difference. Lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

Regardless if PDC is history or not. You lot still banged the drum about how good he was. Now Gus is the new messiah. You lot will never learn. Trip to Wembley, fair point but getting your ass handed to you beamed around the world is nothing to look forward to.

Agree0 Disagree0

I love it how you say Saturday isn't the biggest game of the season when you've won two in a row

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Jan 2014 12:05:55
If we have Grenier and Cabella in the team next season then I'd have to admit that Ashley is doing something right, both players are a joy to watch and I'm just surprised either of them would even consider coming to our club maybe we're moving in the right direction.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

No matter who we have in the team the aspirations remain the same Mid Table
This club at best could finish 8th but even that had its problems as it may lead to an UEFA cup place and Ashley does not want that as it costs Wonga

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Jan 2014 12:01:26
I think we have a ready made replacement in sissoko, he's been played out of position all year to accommodate cabaye, tiote and anita, and while it is devastating to lose cabaye, I think to move sissoko more central and then putting ben arfa into sissoko's position wouldn't be a bad idea!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Your grasping at straws with the The Sissoko is a ready made replacement. Whilst I rate Sissoko he is no Cabaye. His passing is nowhere near the standards of Cabaye's. He is a box to box work horse. Anita is most like Cabaye in our midfield.

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Jan 2014 11:36:58
Pards comments about CL football may be correct but if he had actually used his squad correctly and played his best players then we may in a position where we could be challenging for a top 4 position. Flogged his players to death over Christmas and constantly leaves HBA on the bench as he is more worried about the opposition (even WBA) than what we can do ourselves. Gouffran has done well this season but is a limited player where as HBA is a genius and if Gouff is so much better at helping out his defence where was he for City's opening goal and why do you need hard work on the wing rather than flair when you are plying 5 in midfield anyway?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

28 Jan 2014 11:32:49
Cisse not travelling due to a bad back. yeah right he is off too which is why De Jong is coming in.

I don't think we will sign a replacement for Cabs I just think HBA will play the number 10 role where he should have always been playing anyway and Gosling will be cover for Anita and Tiote as Pards has already said he wants to have another look at him.

My guess is De Jong on loan, Cisse/Cabs sold and another £30-£35m paid back to Ashley. Hopefully we are getting towards the point where with the TV money, funds banked from player sales with little or no outlay on new ones that Ashley is getting all his dosh back so he can drop the selling price to a realistic level and then we all can move on.

The problem is Ashley is an astute businessman and he is watching the club as a business, you can't do that for a football club because its not a stable business model. If you look it as a business you simply can't improve on pitch, only the financial side of it gets good. The only clubs that reaches the heights are the ones who took or are willing to take a risk, such as they are not afraid of their club producing operating loss as long as they do good on the pitch. They buy players that they need and hold onto their stars.
At NUFC, we are becoming a feeder club like clubs in Ligue 1, they simply bring talent up and sell it for profit, we do the same thing but instead we give them premier league experience and sell them for profit, if this model goes on we will always be a feeder club for the big ones, and ashley has to understand that our's is a big club, and we need to start acting like one.
Having said that, there's nothing to be done about cabaye situation, otherthan to bring two or three in, say, loan Marveux to Montepellier and bring in Cabella quickly, buy Grenier from Lyon, and get us Luuk De Jong.
That's the least we could do now, or i'm afraid we've ran out of time.
The other option is write off our season now, and take our youth players like adam armstrong, quinn, rolando, Kenmen and give them match time, because we'll never go higher and we won't get relegated.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Astute your having a Larf
Thought better of you to have said that
Oh well

Well another year & another really bad transfer window for us, u can't blame cabaye for leaving for champions lge but where does this leave us now? Pardew says he has a back up plan but what's the chances of us getting someone over the line when kinnear has bn in Germany for over a wk & has done nothing on the luuk de jong deal #joke

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Still until 11pm Friday Just hang on a bit and see

19m for Cabaye in anyone's books for a player that cost
just 4m is fantastic business especially as he
was desperate to go & of course his sake was the
hinge to any possible players coming in.

Next 4 days will reveal all but one thing for
sure Ashley will not have to spend any of the
100m that has already come into the club.
What a great life for some people raping Newcastle
in front of everyone.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

27 Jan 2014 23:43:40
You know I don't blame Cabaye for leaving, I'm pleased for him, and I don't even blame any of the players for leaving, cisse, krul, Mbiwa take your pick, what are they going to win here? F*** all that's what. They know that the club has no ambition whatsoever, and for them to be happy to sell 4 days before the derby is disgraceful.

As long as these two people are in charge, we are no more than a mediocre club. As long as these two people are in charge, we will never see the entertainers again. As long as these people are in charge, we will never become the once unique and fantastic club that we were under KK and SBR

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Totally agree with you JToon. It is a sad state of affairs at the club. Selling our key player who won't be replaced. What message does this send to our better players. We are well placed in the league but Cashley is still willing to sell our best players just to tot up his bank balance. Best support in the land treated like mugs again.
