Why would Sturridge come as he is on 50k a week at Chelsea as he would “only “get 30k tops at SJP?

Everyone knows the new policy is a basic (30k a week basic! !) salary but loaded with bonuses for goals/wins etc so big salaries are earned and not just given as in the past and I for one think it is correct. Maybe if Owen/Martins/Kluivert etc were on similar deals they might have actually achieved something for themselves, the fans and the club instead of just bleeding us dry.

Oh of course there is also the small matter of him actually starting and playing regularly which he is not doing at the moment and is obviously not fancied otherwise Abramovich could save himself the £60m he has offered for Torres.
