newcastle are supposed to sign erdinc this week or next but if we fail that i think we should bid for anelka

Believable1 Unbelievable0

And if anelka doesnt sign we should try for rooney or pele. sgbs

Agree2 Disagree1

Your only decent players moved away to classier cities - Liverpool and Birmingham.

Agree1 Disagree1

Anelka, lol.. Get a grip, he's old and would cost ridiculous money for a player of his age.

Agree1 Disagree0

Who gone to birmingham like? nolan went to london

If we don't have a striker by the arsenal game we have the right to shout abuse at mike Ashley and co

Believable8 Unbelievable2

27 Jul 2011 20:18:36
Does anyone else think that if your captain of a club that should be an extra £3m on your price tag (EPL obviously) so colo should only go if £10m+ is offered.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Would take 6 to 7million

Agree0 Disagree4

Wouldn't like to see him go full stop we need some exp in defence ESP if Jose goes
We could be in trouble if we lost two

Agree1 Disagree0

What we need to so create some depth.. Not just keep selling players because "the money offered is good".. We could sell our whole team for £500million and it would be spectacular but if we don't see the money spent on better players, how is it worth it?

Agree2 Disagree0

Maybe sunderland should make Nosworthy captain and then we will get him for 4m instead of 1m, thats what your comment implies mate. but just coz a player is wearing the armband doesn't mean he is worth an extra 3m. Your lad Colo is worth 7m and I think thats what Valencia will lover and Ashley will accept it

Agree0 Disagree0

Ashley would only accept atleast 10 million to get back what he paid for him, and thats excluding wages

Agree0 Disagree0

He is 29 year old now doubt you will get what you payed for him, 7m tops

For anyone who hasnt read the post I wrote last night scroll down the page and check it out.. let me know what you think.. cheers lads

Talked a couple of weeks ago about the youth talent being overlooked amidst the transfer window madness.. said at the time that theres a few that will genuinely surprise people.. and judging by pre season thankfully I havnt been made to look like a fool...

Wont go into the new senior transfers.. them being Marveaux, Cabaye, Ba and including Ben Arfa.. hopefully most have had a look at them now.. think most would agree that we should be very happy with these acquisitions.. all look good players and definitely improve the squad... being blatantly honest although he came out with praise from last night and did play well enough I think Ba is the only one of them that hasnt been overly impressive in pre season.. needs a goal more than anything I think and he will be grand

Anyway of the youth coming through this is who has impressed...

Vuckic... superb goal last night, got one the match before wrongfully called offside, played well against darlo, definitely a name to remember and will feature this season

Abeid... has impressed everyone at the club since the day he walked in, played very well every pre season game he has played in, one to watch without doubt

Gosling... ran the show last night from start to finish, some energy, and some really classy touches, very unlucky not to score as well,

Moyo... very bad injury kept him out all of last season, has been the best player by a country mile for the reserves in pre season, even playing at left back, left winger by trade, again, remember the name

Sammeobi... Very solid performances in pre season.. extremely direct, has come on an awful lot in the past year, and has scored goals in friendlies, another one again yesterday, has a great attitude too

Finally, honerably mention to Ryan Donaldson... will probably go out on loan but has scored three goals in pre season, done very well in every game and looks like one for the future

Phil Airey was being played out of position for pre season but again like Donaldson, might go out on loan, or impress like he did last season for the reserves, you may yet see him get a shot in cup games etc, both have definitely come on leaps and bounds the past year

So them two aside, along with the four senior signings mentioned, we do have 5 young talents there who will be part of the first team squad this season, and are good enough to make the step up.. only exeption I would say is Sammeobi, still a slight bit raw, but will definitely play in cup games I think... the other four, will definitely feature as the season progresses... Yven Moyo will be the surprise package of the lot... will take a couple of months for him to break through but this lad has real talent

So squad wise, for all the bitching and moaning, we potentially have 7 to 9 players added into the mix this season, all of which have probably been the most impressive performers of pre season with Barton included on top...

Obviously we need a good striker, but that will happen, 100%... Come the Leeds and Fiorentina games I think a lot of hypernegative fans will feel a bit daft to be honest... anyone thats seen the pre season friendlies, or even if you havnt, let me know what you think anyway.. cheers as always, appreciate the effort in reading the rants ha

KRTOON

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Got to agree on all points, what about defenders

Agree0 Disagree0

Forgot all about Tavernier... had a stormer last night, generally been good, much improved from when I had a proper look at him early last season.. from what he has being saying in interviews too he seems very hungry to improve and become part of the first team set up this season... he can play all across the back to so nice convenient replacement for perch as the utility player for defensive injuries...

Dummett done well last night but will be a reserve player this season, still has a lot to learn before taking the step up...

Kadar is rated, but has been injured a fair bit last year, need a proper look at him before giving an honest opinion on him one way or the other.. he will also be a reserve this year I think because of the injuries last season

But Tav has impressed me, good honest lad too, think the fans will take to him

KRTOON

Agree0 Disagree0

Would like to see a few of the youngsters get games this season.Especially if we coasting and looking comfy Give the lads a chance Look like we have a few good players coming thru Like the look of ferguson and sammy but others like airey could be pushing thru too and people at the club say he looks better than carroll did when he was playing 2nd string

Agree0 Disagree0

Some of these young lads mentioned by krtoon might be first team regulars shortly and i can see some of them starting the first game of the season as i can see newcastle getting themselves into a bad situation. my reason i can see ashley selling 5 or 6 first team players on deadline day at end of august and not having time to replace them barton collocini guitierez routledge best foster just some of the players named over the last couple of weeks by the media just like carroll. what do you think krtoon. one gary rowell

Agree0 Disagree1

Another good thing is Abeid and Vukcic seem to have a really good understanding with each other.
I also have to admit I have been suprised by Gosling so far I thought people were going over the top about how good he was but it seems I underestimated him.

Agree1 Disagree0

All the youngsters mentioned are back ups and squad players.. even with sales..

In the long term the project in effect suggests that Colo and Jonas will be sold.. 29 and 28 respectively.. both on high wages.. both have interest from Spain.. could see them both gone by start of next season.. to be honest if they were replaced with good young talent it would be a shrewd move.. Jonas isnt good enough.. Colo is but the chance to get 8m plus 90K off the wage bill.. that will happen..

Jonas wont be an issue.. Marveaux, Ben Arfa and Moyo are all natural left sided players.. Abeid and Vuckic can also play there.. If we got an offer for him now we would sell

Colo will need to be replaced.. was surprised to hear we turned down the chance to get Bassong for 4m.. may not be much truth to it.. but if there was he is the ideal replacement in my opinion.. still only 24 and was very good for us.. but Colo wont go this season.. would be shocked if he did after being made captain.. even with the said interest from Seville and Valencia

Joey will go at the end of the season.. cant see him being kept on any longer.. opinion on this one sways.. would personally like to see him get a 2 year deal if he would accept it.. but again with project in effect.. he is 29 and on a big wage.. definitely gone next season
When he does go we will need to replace.. having Jonas off the books and the fee for him will replace Joey and with 100K odd off the wage bill between the two of them it allows us to make a good signing and pay a good wage

As for the rest mentioned.. routledge.. best.. then say perch.. ranger.. xisco.. are all going this summer if we can sell them.. theyre squad players anyway.. and okay ones at best.. the youth have more potential in my opinion.. we dont suffer by their losses

Then the maybes to go by next season being.. ameobi.. ryan taylor.. guthrie.. lovenkrands.. again they are all back ups.. not first team players any more.. will need to be replaced with either existing youth talent or good young signings.. but again in my opinion not that big a loss..

The youth mentioned will get their chance in the first team over the course of the season be it through starting eleven injuries and rotation based on domestic competitions.. but thats my point.. there is ten others I could name in the academy but would be stupid to do so because they are not ready to take the step up.. the ones I have mentioned are.. cant make a name or prove your worth if youre never given the chance

KRTOON

Agree0 Disagree0

Just an honest question from a sunderland fan. but would you lads rather have Barton for another season and lose him for free or would you rather cash in now and get 5-6m for him? I'd rather have the money and try and find a replacement. he is a good player but money talks to ashley in my opinion

berbatovs agent been on sky saying he going to see out his final year at man utd. that would get him a nice signing on fee wherever he goes next season.footballers and their greed eh

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Berbatov to sign for nufc, a good 4 year left in him and would only coat 7.5 million as he is in th last year of his contract with man u. he will get u an easy 20 goals in th primer league, he showed last season only playing half th games and becoming top goal scorer in the epl he would get Newcastle united bk in to europe Wich would make us a lot more Money than an sell on value and I don't know about u but he would be a perfect numder 9 which we have lacked since Alan shearer

Agree1 Disagree2

Cant afford his wages and he be 31 this year so knocking on

Agree0 Disagree0

Thats a lie he's only 29

Agree2 Disagree0

He is 30 an will be 31 next feb so stop with the "thats a lie"

Psycho

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Lololol....the little buggers are everywhere, aren't they

Smoke screens= lies?

I believe they are used during paintballing. no idea why ashley keeps using them to sign different players though :S

Andy carrol couldn't tie berbatovs laces he just had a good start of the season but he will never scorer the goals that berba would for us cone on Mike ashley have some common sense he is the best out there for his price and would make you a hole lot more

Believable1 Unbelievable1

I wish can't see him wanting to come here
Also salary Would be a fantastic acquisition
But about the same chance as getting messi

Just heard from a reliable source that Newcastle could land Edinson Cavani within the next 2 weeks. The Loic Remy interest was just a smoke screen. Pardew got sick of waiting for Crouch, Defoe and Erding to make up their minds.

Believable0 Unbelievable7

And then you woke up and realised you were still on planet earth.

Cavani. who is wanted by Man city if they fail to get Aguero...Good One

im a big newcastle fan, and im a little worried, the premier league is back in just over two weeks, and there is still no offical word of a striker, the edric thing is all the papers. pardew himself said when they return for the USA they will be working hard to get players in, mainly the striker we certinaly need and fast. demba is looking ok, but he needs that all important first goal. if we do not have a striker in by the arsenal game, it will send us supports crazy. how hard must it be to get a striker in. in this season, we should be looking for top 10 finish, and the follonh season uefa cup place or even the carling cup. look at birmingham they won it, why cant we. i going to be rooting for them this year, since chris is the manger. people say the 1st of august which is this monday is the day edric news will break, im not so sure.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

27 Jul 2011 10:39:37
Lordy Lord Our new striker just been 'discreetly' revealed....... the Xisco kid has eventually been given a squad number (13) after demba ba took his number 19 shirt- looks like he's here to fight for his place next season- oh dear........

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Every player has a right to challenge the first team if he given the chance I hope he gets a chance to prove it and comes good cos you dont just become a bad palyer overnight and when we signed that lad he looked canny

Agree0 Disagree1

I watched a couple of games when he was on loan last season and he looked sharpand lets be honest he cant be much worse than the strikers playing 1st team already and they must have seen something in him to buy him to start with.

Agree0 Disagree1

We'll here's hoping, would be great if he proved the doubters wrong. you're right like, we wouldn't have spent £7million if he was that bad, MA wont even spend £7million on good players

Agree2 Disagree0

Wasn't he the reason keegan resigned.

Agree1 Disagree1

Never been giving a chance which is harsh on him even when he has been giving some minutes on the pitch he wasn't played as a striker.

Agree1 Disagree1

Keegan resigned due to Xisco and Gonzalez being signed without him knowing by Wise not cause he was a bad player not many bad players get in the Spain U21's squad.

Agree0 Disagree1

He's scored more goals for us in the Premiership than Nile Ranger.

Agree1 Disagree0

"He's scored more goals for us in the Premiership than Nile Ranger."

Not saying much, is it?

Agree1 Disagree0

Yet a few teams are interested in ranger He cant be all that bad Just raw I would give xisco a chance to show he can play in his favoured position and see what he can do After that no excuses

Agree0 Disagree0

I was watching the Audi Cup last night, Barca vs Internacional and Bayern vs Milan and got a bit embarrassed about a post I put on a couple of weeks ago.

I had said I would be happy if we signed a list of players and on that list was Mario Gomez. Wot was I thinking? We are a big club but he is Bayern's no1 target man and he is 1 of the most improved players in world football.

He scores goals for fun at the highest level and is already on about £100,000 a week.

Just want to apologise to my fellow Toon faithful for this most unrealistic rumour (dream, wish etc) if I got any of you overexcited I am sorry.

Geo

P.S maybe a swap deal for Enrique? lol

Believable3 Unbelievable0

27 Jul 2011 10:06:25
Guys, I no I should'nt be getting excited because the way things have been going recently it has not been to positive in the transfer market.

However I have a really funny feeling we are going to sign Defoe. For 10m or under I think it is a no brainer and if it involves a swap for Enrique then fine.

The only way this might not materialise is if Tottenham have trouble with their own striking targets or if Sunderland come in offering more money.

Fingers crossed tho, I think he is class.

Geo.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Yeh depends of sunderland use gyan in any deal

Agree0 Disagree2

Sunderland dont have anymore money

Agree0 Disagree2

How many times do we have to say that Gyan is not going anywhere unless a bid of 25m+ is offered? who says sunderland don't have any money, I think it is yourselves who doesn't have the money and you know it, more false promises from pardew and gerodie dreaming again

Agree1 Disagree0

Cos if sunderland had as much money as you all boasted you, s had then you would have bought nzogbia and bruce as constantly ruled not going for him as he is to much money thats why...and before you state us mags have no money guess what we all know ashley aint spending it so there

Agree0 Disagree2

I think you will find we have money to spend but will not spend it on stupid wages, zog wanted daft money, 60-70k a week, but if brucie wants a player he will get the backing, we have one of the best chairman and owners in the country, it is your sad little club who wont spend, all the talk in thye paper of Defoe, it is just a screen from ashley and pardew so you loy dont spit you dummy out, if you can just accept the fact that you are not or have never been a big club( only in your fans eyes) you wont spit ya dummys out when you dont get any decent player in and you sell you remaing best players, cololcini, enriqiue, and for all barton says he wants to stay if money is offerd he Will be sold. enjoy your struggle next season cause the frogs you bought will not be good enough. SGB

Agree3 Disagree0

Haha sad little club u lot will always live in our shadow have u ever had champions league? thought not have u ever had a truely world class striker? thought not and stop going on about not selling gyan he is far to good for your club same as bent he will find a club more to his standard and say totteham offered u good money plus defoe dont see u lot rejecting it.

Agree0 Disagree2

Stop living in the past man, champions league how long a go, and it was easier to qualify, granted at the time you had a very good team, and were good to watch, but come on it is in the past.
So yes i think you are a sad little club with sad supporters, Sad because you cant get the players you seem to think you should be getting, but the fans do not run the club, so get used to it, good luck for next season you will need it, Mike ashley's favourite song is "the frogs on the tyne are all mine all mine" h SGB

Agree2 Disagree0

Yes you got champions league football but between keegan gullit souness you spent about £300m and still won sod all. our owner ellis short is worth more than roman abramovich and if quinn or bruce want any money he has already said they can have it. we just wont be held to ransom by greedy players like gibson and n'zogbia. more players to arrive before deadline day mad max

Agree2 Disagree0

Then surely u would have bought nzogbia? defoe? mention by the fans as big sunderland signings oh wait ur so called owner was not willing to pay the transfer fee or the wages and you u have all this money then y rnt u bringing in better players than the championship ones u r bringing in i would much rather have the french players that are proven at a international level than a load of what were going to be next year championship players

Agree0 Disagree1

N'zogbia wanted like £75,000 in wages and the fee would of been £9.5m, not worth it, sunderland will never be held to ransom by players, newcastle used to pay high wages to players and now they are suffering for it. Pardew is saying all the things Ashley is telling him and I bet it is false promises and you sign a cheap unkown striker

Agree1 Disagree0

Even though we have had a bid accepted for erding and have enquired for both crouch and defoe lol

Agree0 Disagree1

Yes but if this cheap young striker gets goals then who is the fools? Its like dong No one over ere really heard of him yet you took the gamble on him and you all hope it pays off So we got same entitlement as you to expect cheap players coming good

Agree1 Disagree0

Fair point, but Dong-Won is back up like Wickham is for a few years until they can get premier league experience. But Dong-Won and Wickham have looked really good in pre-season. Sunderlands strike force will be Gyan and a new striker we sign or Gyan with Sessegnon playing just behind him. personally I think you will get Shane Long, he is a really good championship striker but he might do the business in the premiership

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Jul 2011 09:53:53
Why on Earth are we tracking overpriced and over paid strikers, such as Crouch and Defoe... Why can't we go for someone younger, cheaper and more of a talent for the future with a high sell on fee. Someone like Jefferen of Barcelona, or Necid of CSKA Moscow, both of them would be a great addition to our team and reasonably priced as well (doubt it would be more than £10m for both)

ED what you think?

Cabaye was rested in the last reserve game so he could play against Leeds and Fiorentina.

I'm a Toon fan based in London. I have to work in the Newcastle on bi-monthly basis. I work for a company that organises charity events and when in Newcastle we work closely with the Club. Often at the events the club sends current and ex-players who we get involved. As a fan I always try to talk to anyone I can and find out the ins and outs. Im fresh off the train having closed an event at the weekend and need to share a rumour that is rife amongst those in the know at the club. Michael Winskell was also present (former executive director) and said he'd heard there was real concern amongst Ashley and Llambias & co.
It seems that they are fearful of a backlash should the money from Carroll (+not to forget TV money) not be spent. There have already been provisions made for our first home game, fearing that there might be reprisals of when Ashley last had to stay away from SJP. Because of this the club are striving to appease the fans with at least 3 more signings but a lot is hingeing on departures or Enrique, Smith, Routledge, Barton, Perch, Lovenkrands, Ranger and Jonas.
The club will willingly let any of the aforementioned players leave either because of age, wages or purely surplus to requirements.
I don't think anyone will come in for Jonas although he was linked with Malaga.
Loverkrands is linked with Birmingham and Rangers.
Jose to either Liverpool or Arsenal but I think we are fanning around trying to make him a makeweight in any deal, trying to either get spearing (loan) and agog or bendtner and gibbs. Either way we are (as usual) showing no comprehension of player value. Probably better if Jose does go rather than have him half-hearted next term.
Routledge is still on the radars of QPR, Forest, Leicester and Norwich, rumour has it Ipswich had an interest but we were only prepared to talk if there was a deal involving Wickham.
Perch is close to a switch to Derby, only on loan.
No-one officially in for Smith, despite what some Red Tops might have to say on the matter, supposedly we'd rather have him at our disposal than pay half his wages and let him go to Leeds.
Ranger is anyone guess.

Year after year our transfer targets range from the weird to the wonderful. For example, we are either after Emile Heskey or Dimitar Berbatov
With wages capped at around 40k, we can forget about Berbatov, Chamakh etc that have been ludicrously touted over the past few months.
I think we have moved too slowly on the N'zogbia front and Villa will seal the deal by the weekend, however we will probe City for Adam Johnson and tests Spurs resolve for a bid for Peter Crouch no more than 6million though or we will look elsewhere.
The Erdinc deal has also slowed our progress as his indecision has meant we have cooled off interest on players such as Defoe and Shane Long. Personally I think it would be good business to go in for Palacios, Crouch and Defoe, pay about 9-12 million for the trio and offer Tiote as part of the deal. But thats just my opinion.
Essentially, the more vocal fans become with their discontent at the lack of movement in the transfer market then hopefully the more Ashley and Co will realise they need to dip in to their pockets.
Having had our long term plans explained at the weekend, it does look like the club are trying to do the 'best thing'- but sadly that looks like selling anyone who does well and merely maintaining our premier league status- someone did joke we will be the 'Fulham of the North'. Get complaining people and we can make something happen.

Believable1 Unbelievable4

Offer tiote as part of a deal you are kidding maybe if they offered us those 3 players plus about 10 mil would makes us even think of selling tiote you are talking about the best cdm at the moment in the prem agaisnt 3 players who lets be honest are strugling to get first team football at a side that has missed out on the champions league u r either a spurs fan from london or u highly underestermate how much tiote means to the club and its fans.

All rumours, paper talk, speculation, delusions, moaning, abuse, anger, frustration and whatever else you want to throw into the box labelled waste of time, energy and effort aside, lets start with our squad for this season as it stands....

Krul.. Simo.. Taylor.. Colo.. Jose.. Tiote.. Cabaye.. Barton.. Marveaux.. Ben Arfa.. Ba

Forster.. Raylor.. WIllo.. Kadar.. Fergie.. Gosling.. Guthrie.. Jonas.. Abeid.. Vuckic.. ?

Tav.. Perch.. Sammeobi.. Moyo.. Donaldson.. Airey..

Thats not including... Best.. Ameobi.. Lovenkrands.. Ranger

? represents definite signing... we are 100% buying a striker... lets presume its Erdinc

Pardew has said from the second the french lads came in, one more signing and hopefully a 2nd... would like to see Long or a good young centre mid personally
As far as Enrique, to be honest its not a sure thing this lad is going as much as it seems so, he may want to, we may want to get the money for him quick if he is.. but the fact is there hasnt been one bid for him yet..

But for sake of argument lets say he is... he will obviously be replaced quickly... and wouldnt like Bridge personally but lets presume he is the emergency go to signing if Jose bolts

Considering the aim for this season is stability, a mid table finish with no relegation struggle... What exactly is the fans big worry? When has Pardew been a puppet or lied? Wheres the faith in a team that has no doubt improved already?

I think this obsession with spending 35m has really changed some fans, i m sick and tired of hearing the Ashley out brigade bleeting on at this stage.. its pretty much football fans who havnt the first clue about business, against a businessman with no clue about football... what these fans dont seem to realise is its not his job to know about football... do you think the Glaziers, or the lads that own Man City, or just bought PSG and Malaga have the first clue about football?...

Stop going on and on about Ashley and how hes trying to steal all the money and destroy the club.. I have said it once and I will say it again.. anybody that knows anything about economics, running a business, trying to sell a business or high value assett, and even trying to squeeze a business for what its worth for the hypernegative and paranoid, would know full well that this is not what is going on... this bloke is a highly successfull billionairre businessman.. if he wants to sell in the future, why would he actively try and lower the value of the club with risking our Premier Leage status, at the same time pumping money into clearing debt, improving club and training facilities, paying thousands upon thousands on scouting costs, sending not only the first team but the reserves abroad for pre season prep, the list goes on and on, havnt got all night... to think this man hasnt got an invested interest in improving the club, even if it is to make it valuable enough to sell on, is im sorry absolute madness and a level of delusion I cant even begin to comprehend...

If you choose not to believe that fair enough, theres no convincing you, and wont entertain counter argument to it, youre wrong, trust me on this... but even if this is your opinion, tell me, do you think it does the club any good to hate this man day after day, banish him from the stands, verbally abuse Derek Llambias the way he was as of late, and all the other ridiculous actions fans have taken against the board... look I get the frustration, and on certain occassions this reaction was warranted, but not half as much as it has happened... and think about it, this is not the way to get what you want.. in fact all that would serve to achive I would imagine is for MA to say to himself, why should I give 30m over for transfers? why should I invest my money in this club?... Agreed, the club and owner need to sort out the level of communication with the fans.. zero is too little, but I do agree with a closed door policy, its how all the major clubs are run, especially in England because the media is absolute poison and will do anything for a story, and that was a major problem at Newcastle for a long time because we were so open..

Look for all the fans with a fixation on negativity towards the club and owner, just do me a favour, put your energy where it belongs and have some faith in what you always have, even through the Shepperd era where it was much much worse than it is now... believe in the team, support the team, support the club... the fans are the reason players want to and always have wanted to come to Newcastle... because they love it more than most fans in the world love their club... its never been the club itself thats been the attraction, its the city, the atmosphere, the buzz of being part of Newcastle when the fans are right behind the club through thick and thin... the team and squad we have is better than last season, no question... show them the support they deserve, make these young lads want to be a newcastle player, want to improve, develop, get into our first team and stay here, loving the club, and loyalty to us comes with that... 10m pound signings with a name arnt loyal anymore, there after a paycheck for the most part... what the club is doing is actually a very smart, very exciting project if you stop complaining and open your mind to it, learn about it, learn about our youth, the money gone into them, the potential there is there, the scouting project we are doing and how expansive it is... learn about the players I have mentioned at the top of the page, learn about ones beyond that, like Nzuzi or Remi Streete... basically leave the finances to the people who know what theyre doing.. get behind the project.. support the club and every aspect of it.. wear the shirt with pride and support what you love, make it the place every young player wants to play... THAT is the only way this club will move forward

KRTOON

Believable6 Unbelievable1

Agree with nearly every thing you say there.
But, If we could only spend some of the money that was promised to be spent, we could push on further.
We are not going to get the superstars on big wages- we all acknowledge that.

The buy young and hungry players can work in 2 ways. Like you say, players will be given the chance and might be gratefull and stay loyal and shine for NUFC. On the other hand- These players may be a success for the club, and be sold on for profit at the first opportunity. Starting the same process over and over again- thus becoming a stepping stone for young players on the up and creating a continuous circle.

I know Ashley does not hate the club or want to run it into the ground. I would just rather the club stayed quiet rather than spout out how 'marqee' signing will be made, '£35m will be re-invested in the squad etc...
Its this what annoys the fans more than anything.
Another good post krtoon.
Psycho

Would be great to see the strategy work.

Like most people on here krtoon simpletons. a lot off them most probably never been to sjp. armchair fans who think they know all but know eff all. ye club is in the best financial position for ages but some fans want instant success. we all want to see big signings at our clubs but in the current situation the sensible ones know this will never happen. the fans are wanting a new centre forward but on ye squad for next year you already have six so one or more will have to go. on the football front i think the times ahead are going to be hard especially if the fans go against ashley. keep up ye posts interesting reading

We will almost certainly turn against MA at some point this coming season but at least he has kept quiet and not had digs at the fans unlike quinny who did with SAFC fans now thats something to have a go about

Pardew to bid 4mil for Benayoun who's been told he is not in Villas Boas' first team plans, and ask him to take a 10k wage cut but steeped in bonuses. Not a bad player IMO, creative and able to play across the midfield.
I just doubt
1, this rumour is true,
2, if it is true he'd come and
3, if it is true and he did come whether he'd stay fit for more than 20 minutes of the season. We already have our new Dyer in the shape of Mishap-en Ben Arfa

Believable1 Unbelievable1

Where exactly has this stupid idea come from that Ben Arfa is injury prone?

He had his leg broken in two places by a very bad challenge... Did you actually see the tackle against Kansas? would have been a straight red if not in a friendly match... Did you see him fly about against Darlo, take tackles, get stuck in and come away with not a bother on him?

Two injuries he has had... both tackles would have injured any player...

You do realise in the three seasons before the leg break he played 39, 49 and 41 games?

Absolute stupidity to call him injury prone... negativity on this site sometimes is mind boggling

Cant believe people can call him injury prone hes been injured twice cos he been clattered

Agree3 Disagree0

Injuries part of the game and ball carrying skillfull players like ben arfa the ones who get clatterd the most The lad had some bad luck but not injury prone

Agree0 Disagree0

Bale would be considered more injury prone, and people still think he's a welsh ronaldo.
