Thank F we did not get De Jong for £10m+ when we wanted him. He has a decent touch and good work rate but he is a striker and he just does not look like scoring, at least Cisse makes the keeper work. I said it weeks ago we should be dropping Collo for Mbwia, and be dropping all the players likely to be off in the summer such as Strolla and Gosling and playing or filling the bench with the promising kids we hear so much about to give them experience and the chance to prove they are good enough and a chance for the management to asses them, what is the point of Adam Campbell sitting on the bench in Scotland or Vukic sitting on the bench in Yorkshire? They should be getting game time in the EPL now we are safe and almost certain to finish in the top ten. HBA is our Coutinho, Marveaux is our Silva yet our inept coaches simply do not play them and stifle any creativity and instead play workhorses like Gouffran and Anita who although is a good passer does it too slowly and is physically just not cut out for life in the EPL. I'm not saying Marveaux is as good as Silva but he could do a similar role for us and actually I think given the opportunity to just go anD play I think HBA is better than Coutinho. All that will happen is that these 2 will leave in the summer, be played regularly by the new clubs and be excellent.
I got slaughtered on here in the summer for saying we should sack Pards and get Martinez yet look at you all now saying we should have a manager like Martinez! As long as Ashley is the owner Pards will be manager its as simple as that. Pards puts up with all the cr@p Ashly throws his way and ensures we don't get relegated while managing on a shoestring with a disaffected crowd not fully supporting the club BECAUSE THEY ARE FED UP of being wazzed on from a great height by the fat cockney shopkeeper.
TBH I'm happy we will not qualify for Europe as it will make it easier for us to stay up next season which is the sum aim of the club's owner, and without Remy, HBA, Marveaux, Collo and probably Tiote/Debouchy/Sissoko after they star at the WC it will be a tough ask as I can't see us getting any decent players in from France or anywhere else. FFS we even lost out on Huddlestone and Long to Hull, HULL FFS.

I totally agree.

I keep saying we have a massive opportunity to sack pardew and get in a top young modern manager like Michael Laudrup while we can. He can give us the football we crave, and can give us that stability of a new passing philosophy like martinez has done at everton.

Laudrup is such an under rated manager, and this is a massive chance to get him in and I believe he'll come if we approach him.

i will be sick in my stomach if we miss this opportunity. At least get something organised at the end of the season so we can give laudrup the whole summer to rebuild.

He's a top manager, and statistically he got swansea playing better than rodger's had them in the premier league. More shots, more goals etc.

He's someone who can get the best out of the likes of ben arfa and marveaux

JToon you will get no argument from me there but it just won't happen. If Ashley wanted rid of Pardew he had the perfect excuse with the Myler incident yet only fined him 100k. Ashley does not want anyone that will stand up to him so that he gets sacked or resigns and then takes the club to court for constructive dismissal like Keegan did. We are stuck with Pards while we are stuck with Ashley. Strangely though as average as we can be I think we are playing the most creative football under Prds since he has been at the club and I include the season we fnished 5th when frankly we were pretty poor we just had good luck with injuries, Krul consistently good, Ba and then Cisse scoring for fun and of course a certain Mr Cabaye. I always thought he was a good player, now what happened to that lad?

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree spire it won't happen but that is the most painful thing about it.

What a pile of garbage what is the point? We are a bigger club and could be as good as Everton, if anyone in the club actually cares

Believable0 Unbelievable0

We are a bigger club than Sunderland but still get best three times in a row.

I don't understand why fans are still buying tickets week in week out to watch this crap.

Agree0 Disagree0

A bigger club than EFC?ha ha ha. good one that!

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes bigger than Everton in every way but the difference Everton have an owner who cares BUT unfortunately they will ALWAYS be in the shadow of Liverpool and that is what drives them
Newcastle will always be in the shadow of big A. SE Ashley who casts Doom & Gloom

Agree0 Disagree0

Bigger than everton in every way!thats even funnier. because Newcastle have won sooooo many league titles and trophies haven't they?. oh no that's right they haven't have they.

Agree0 Disagree0

Bigger than everton, crawfordlad wot u been smokin

Agree0 Disagree0

Newcastle traditionally probably are a bigger club than everton

Agree0 Disagree0

Traditionally everton are the 5th biggest club in the land with nearly double the amount of trophies as nufc

Agree0 Disagree0

Traditionally my a. e I like Everton but a big Shadow hangs over them called Liverpool to whom they are 3nd best
When was the last time Everyone finished 5th same question about Newcastle

Newcastle are in the trenches without guns because we have an owner that would wreck and rob every club in the land
Never compare NUFC with any of the too 7/8 as they have no chance because of one reason Ashley
Everton can have him he will destroy you lot & fans would be running for cover

Agree0 Disagree0

In terms of trophies in the modern era Swansea/Boro/Wigan are a bigger club than us. I hate to say it but we used to be a big club and a big draw for players but nowadays we are just a shop front for Ashley to advertise his knockdown tat and to buy and sell players for a profit the way he does with sports goods.
It's all clear now why he bought us in the first place, I mean come on why else would a Spurs fan buy Newcastle?

Agree0 Disagree0

Spire I Agree but in terms of support and revenue etc we were in the top 20 and still are 25th in the World that is what measures the club
As for trophies you will never see any under Ashley
