Sunderland have been linked with him for around two years and get linked every transfer window.
Point being Newcastle fans called him useless etc etc but now your linked with him he is a top player lol .
Agree1
Disagree3
2nd poster, with all due respect, ive not seen one newcastle fan call him a top player. his goals to games ration is average at best and i dont know one geordie who would take him over de jong.
GeordieSteve

According to the Daily Fail so I doubt it's actually going to happen.

He will be or second choice target if we don't get de Jong.

Newcastle United are being forced to go for their second choices on all summer signings.
Newcastles strict transfer model means they will not budge on price and will only pay what they think any given player is worth. They are unwilling to pay over £6 million for Debuchy, £8 million for De Jong, £5 million for Anita and £6 million for M'Bwia.
Expect moves for lesser known names in the next few days and if these do not come off then Newcastle will play the waiting game until Janurary and will not sell Danny Simpson, Leon Best or any more players.

Unbelievable2
Its true and fact I heard this from the horses mouth.Little or no money will be spent this summer at NUFC.But they will make a big purchase if the right one becomes available.
Agree1
Disagree2
Well your horse is wrong. Pardew has already said that we will be bringing players to strengthen the squad. They will be movement after the euro's and when players start returning from holidays. Fact!
Agree3

I wish Pards or Ashley would phone me up to let me know all the news at the Toon you 2 are lucky fellows
Agree4
Disagree0
You don't have to know either Pardew or Ashley to know the toon will buy players this summer as already stated Pardew has said as much. Fighting on 4 fronts requires a bigger squad. Its not rocket science.
Agree1
Disagree0
They did say they hope to bring in new faces but also that if they can't get the right player at right price they would happily not get in anyone and wait until the right deal can be done.

Newcastle sent buying anyone new this summer except from ji from Sunderland. We will be also offloading Ba and colicini
Believable1

Nothing wrong with JI he will come good.Even if he doesn't he will have made us a fortune anyway in the asian market so its all win win.

If Arsenal are prepared to sell Aaron Ramsey to Fulham then we should get in there and buy him instead. He would be ideal in our midfield to help keep the ball and control games the way Pardew wants to. He would complement Cabaye not replace him and surely he would rather play for us than Fulham?
Believable6
Unbelievable0
I would rather play in fulham.Erm west london or Newcastle decisions decisions. {Ed003's Note - Errm, I think your ignorance speaks for itself,the countryside in the North East is a stunning place to live,take a trip past the Watford gap and take a look! }
Agree2
Disagree1
Well said Ed. {Ed001's Note - the only issue is that footballers aren't very intelligent, as a rule, so they might prefer paying over the odds in posh shops, to living in a lovely area. Also, Ramsey might want to stay in the same home he is in now, which he can do if he moves to Fulham.}
Agree1
Disagree0
Its all right playing in Fulham it all the jabs you have to have beforehand
Agree1

Me personally Newcastle or London Lived in them both and I would take Newcastle anyday... Happier nicer people that if you get used to the dialect actually speak English, London it's all eastern European and arabic as well as a form of very poor english (like init). Better nightlife and your not paying £5 a pint.
Newcastle anyday it is a very special city shame that it is only 15 mins from Sunderland as that would take any city down a peg or 2.

Bit of a biased view above.

Has anyone made an offer to hoillet yet his contract is up would need to pay tribunal but has to be worth it also is Czech defender sivok on free transfer if so worth taking if only for cover looked solid at euros especially against Portugal
Believable2
Unbelievable0
The defender is a bit old for us to sign, i'd say. but with hoilett i think he'd be worth a look, but alot of other clubs are looking at him too i think.

anyone else feel scott sinclair might be a good purchase, contract runs out in 12 months so price wouldn't be inflated can play on both sides and i know he didnt have the best first year in the premiership with swansea but he definitely has potential to be a good player, and hes a million miles better than obertan

Fans to start a new club to protest againest the running of the Toon. AFC Newcastle hoping to get enough support to start up. {Ed004's Note - Why? I wouldn't think fans would be too upset after last season?}
Believable0

What is wrong with the running with the running of the club. We are back in Europe and we are making excellent signings for good prices. The only thing Ashley has done wrong is change the name of the stadium! Toontoon

all lies from those acting like Cabaye will be moving to Manchester United after their CM signing this week. people are speculating that united will offer or have offered 20 million which is very unrealistic. liverpool payed 35 million for a mediocre lanky player, i highly doubt a club like united will be willing to pay so much for that sort of player. Especially when someone like Sneidjer (sorry for spelling) could be bought for that price. people are running off with ridiculous figures..
Believable1
Unbelievable1
Yeah, but snieder is older than Cabaye, and Cabaye is showing alot of promise to get better next season.
