why are we getting linked with more midfielders today. .ireland /gibson /sissoko /matuidi /nzogbia /treacy and gervinho all linked to nufc.
surely this must mean barton/jonas and guthries time at the club is up, shame cos i rate them. .hope that tiote is not sold as this would cause major upset between board/fans and none of the above signing would apease that. .DEL

Ha. . I had a similar dream, but included Messi. . I appreciate your dream is more realistic, but have no doubt it won't happen. . the sale of our better players will go on. . replaced by cheaper youngsters that can be sold on for more money.
That is defintely not an unrealistic team. Only 1 player there we may not get and that's Sturridge. The rest are players we have and N Zogbia has said himself he wants to come to us. The fact is though, 4 of the players in that team were starting when we got relegated. The new lads coming in, young and hopefully hungry for the Prem but we still need a couple of experienced big name players. 2 strikers, a RB, if Enrique goes a quality LB (Not Taylor). If Barton goes we will have no one of leadership quality who will get fired in when needed. Out- Smith, Perch, Routledge, Guthrie, Best. Generate about £7m in fees and save wages. Just need Ashley to release some purse strings and get a couple of big names in. Psycho

Great to here be afra is back to full health, let's not place all the pressure on the guy, to get us goals. I'd been happy at him fern assists and I'd like to say 8-10 goals. Ba with 14 and another striker the same and then the rest of the team chipping in. Let's hope this week, that there will be developments with players. Any news on anyone ed?

Mousa sissoko will cost newcastle 13.3m pounds. i reckon we should go for it and sell guthrie, smith, routledge to raise funds. they should bring about 6m
We shouldn't need to sell players to raise money we're minted but we're not gunna see that money spent if its not spent soon.
Was just thinking the same £35 million for Carroll £4.5 million for Nolan and we only paid about £4.5 million for Cabaye so money should be no problem for us, also we have a billionaire as chairman even though he is tight with it
Don't become a billionaire being frivolous I'd rather they be carefull on who we brought in instead of rushing in and paying over the odds like we used to, we still have january as an option if we do need something extra
Players cost more in January though.
We can't spend big funds on big players because big players want big paychecks that fat mike is not prepared to write out

Actually he was on a pay as you play deal so he didn't cost us much at all on the wage front. I would like to see him back because when he was at city, I think he was one of the best midfielders in the league. (Toon4Life)

id prefere sissoko than matuidi and then play 4-5-1 with cabaye tiote and sissoko in the middle.
If we only play one up front and we get Erdinic and sturridge, who wil start Ba? Sturridge? Erdinic? I doubt sturridge will come here to be on the bench.
What's wrong with getting both Matuidi and Sissoko, we all know Tiote will get suspended at least once next season and if we play 2 holding midfielders one is cover. I also hope we sign Sturridge and Erdinc but I think we need a right back and cover at left back
Because that would cost £26 million and there is no chance.
We could just rotate the strikers every match.

Any more would just be a bonus, I can't see these players arriving:
Matuidi (Expensive Tiote cover at 12m)
N'Zogbia (Wages an issue)
Sturridge (No interest expressed to this point)
If matuidi comes its because tiote will have been sold
Not really Tiote is going to get suspended it's a certainty and he will be at the African cup of nations.
What country does matuidi and sissoko play for? will they play in the ACN?
They're both capped for France, even though they both are of African decent, so they would both be able to cover for Tiote. Even if we did sign either of them, however, I think we could play one of them and Tiote holding, with Cabaye in front and 3 up front
Both play for France Matuidi is similar player to Tiote whereas Sissoko is comfortable playing in an attacking role as well as defensive role.
Man city have all the money in the world (well in football terms). .so they can have almost any team they want. and last season what they decided for most games is to have two defensive mids (at least), e.g. Barry and De Jong. also they have vieira and yaya toure who both are/were CDMs aswell. so i think having matuidi and tiote starting together cud be great, especially against united/chelsea/city/arsenal etc.

Admittedly he's not my first preference, but he appears well disciplined and isn't going to appear on the front page very often, could do a job in midfield for cover and I can't see his wages being too massive. If he does sign I hope he doesn't get the abuse he does off the glory seakers from us!
Ya he is rubbish has a good shot that's it, can't pass or run we don't need him would be an absolute wate of 5 mil. Let sunderland waste the money on him.

Its swindon playing hard ball! Ipswich have reported them to the league for trying to bend the rules! Not paying money that is owed and saying its not legally binding yet asking for 10 mill for a player who has a 1 mill release clause is? They won't get that anyway!
Apparently Swansea are trying to get out of the release clause in his contract. We'll still be getting him for £1m though.

i hope the rumour about darren gibson is not true- dreadful! to my mind we still need a 20 goal striker (sturridge - loan or permanent preferable) and cover in midfield (1st choice Matuidi). Then i would like to see us sign some defensive cover as with Sol going and big mike injured the thought of perch playing is a nightmare and with Jose still not tied down we need a TOP left back and Taylor (when he gets here) does not come under that category
We pretty much ok in midfeild now but like you said we really need some good solid defenders and not untried prospects! Another striker is a must and possibly 1 more on top of that too.

with the budget ashley should be given on transfers we should be able to bring in some big names aswell as the younger players we need some experienced players we know will work , not players that might work.
