Well time is running out to get new players settled into our squad before season starts. Dubuccy deal dragging too long,Douglas deal a joke offer to them and no striker on horizon no matter what they say about Carroll. Hope Ashley isnt hoping for an injury free start to the season and come out with the quote '' we tried to sign blah blah '' but we will wait till january. Desperate for a striker, centre half, fullback AND a back up keeper to Krul. Harper may do a short term job but if Elliott gets between the posts i imagine a few good thrashings. Im 52 but id do a better job than Elliott, complete pants. TOON1974

Without Colo and Saylor last season we were shocking defensively. You could put two Tim Kruls in goal and we still get turned over. The Norwich game was embarrassing - they just lobbed the ball into the box and the ease they could get space for headers was a joke.
We need at least one more CB as Saylors injury prone and with ( hopefully ) 50+ matches next season we will need cover / rotation. Not too worried about Elliot although you are right he is crap. But we have Harper and can't expect a top class keeper to sit on the bench most of the time.

I am sure Pardew is aware of this and is working to get the RIGHT players in. The days of us getting our pant pulled with high fees and wages are over. I am also sure that MA knows that its more profitable to finish as high up in the PL than to simple keep the cash in his pocket and for us to finish mid-table. Keep the faith.

Well Debuchy is a ll but signed so lets drop the moaning. Rather we take our time and get quality in than buy for the sake of a panic buy.

Could not figure out how to make a new post but nevermind...what was worse the olympic opening ceremony or obertan? fecking sat through near three hours of the s***est thing on telly only to rewind my sky box, watch the toon and be conflicted to what was the more disappointing ...

Agree1 Disagree1

Personally i thought Obertan was decent tonight.

Well Obertan was much better last night I thought. Bigi looks awesom as does Amalfitano and great to have Saylor back too .But I guess there is no pleasing some folk eh. By the way ,just watched recorded opening ceromony and if you really think that was S**t then you are one grumpy person for sure as it was brilliant and 7,000 odd volunteers put time and effort into bringing the likes of you an amazing show so lighten up ,eh.

played with curtis good in u15's in australia. very quality player, strong at the back and has a magnificent left foot. can play the ball around great.

will only get better with time, you've got yourself a real steal.

could very well reach the level of john terry in his prime.

John Terry in his prime? What slightly quicker than a carthorse? Hope not. Hope the boy has a lot more in his locker.
