Just read what Colo had to say to San Lorenzo and in a letter posted on there twitter account and think it is hugely disrespectful to NUFC as a club and the fans!
How were they supporting him by trying to get for nothing if they were really supporting his decision they would of moved heaven and earth to raise the funds to purchase him, I'm sorry about the trouble he is having at home but he has a contract to honour and we have always been behind him made him our captain and think he's been very disrespectful in how he's gone about things. If there was just an explanation or some gratitude but nothing to us just to the team who tried to poach him, he obviously doesn't want to be here so in my eyes should be stripped of the captaincy and I know it may dishearten the team but his heart just won't be in it reading what he's had to say. That's my opinion every1 else's welcome.

Believable4 Unbelievable1

Think fifa should be looking at this as it is blatant tapping up, and if he was a bit unsettled before, he's certainly unsettled now. got to remember he's still on a very good contract and we should be looking for a fee in the summer if he still wants to go.

Agree1 Disagree0

Just get rid of him in my eyes he dnt want to be there dnt want to play for our club everyone supports him and he's been so disrespectful

Agree2 Disagree3

I think he was referring to the fact they were positioned to move their budget around to accomodate his wages and help his family in general. Props to Pardew, he's handling it as well as anybody could. It's deffinately against fifa regulations. In the summer he'll be able to buy himself out of his contract and I suspect he will, I just hope he can keep his mind on this season and pass on a few pointers to Mbiwa regarding adapting to English football in the meantime.

Agree1 Disagree0

I'm very cross if it's true, he might as well spit in our face.

Agree4 Disagree2

I bet a lot of clubs would be nice to him and his family if they reckoned they could get a 7m quid asset. Bad that he has personal problems but what the f-ck have San Lorenzo's Oil actually done? I bet Pards and the board are willing to move hell and high water to accommodate him in his hour of need.

Agree2 Disagree1

Every1s saying their sorry he's got personal probs.mebys he should of stayed away from the 22yr old lass then.then he wouldn't have personal problems.his own fault.nee sympathy

Agree4 Disagree0

I think San Lorenzo could have done more to land Colo.

How about San Lorenzo and Newcastle coming to an agreement on Value, offering Newcastle a player of similar value that they produce in the future.

Colo goes now but in a season or two we get one of their up and coming players. At least it would have something... anything at all wold be better than giving us nothing.

They obviously did not want him as badly as they made out.

So what does everyone think of this starting 11 and subs bench for the rest of the season?

Krul
Debuchy Mbiwa Colo Santon
Tiote Sissoko
BenArfa Cabaye Marveaux
Cisse

Elliott, Taylor, Haidara, Anita, Jonas, Obertan, Gouffran

That then leaves players like Perch, Simpson, Shola, Sammy, Bigi, Williamson as back up for the bench!

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Gouffran or rvw instead of marveaux

Agree2 Disagree2

I think he's more spot on as seeing Gouffran as an impact player, at least until he's settled. I think he'll take longer than the others because of his lack of the physical side and so many french players come to England without realising they'll have a lot less time on the ball and will be tracked more with runs

Newcastle United, the northern Arsenal.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

, we will always be Newcastle United and as long as every player gives 100% and wears the shirt with pride I couldn't give a toss what outsiders call us

Agree5 Disagree0

Northern arsenal lol yeah you both never win a trophy.

Agree0 Disagree0

NEVER ? arsenal recent maybe but NEVER ? Fool,

Does anyone think these French players will "spawn" a new era in Newcastle's History.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

Maybe if we sold Ranger and the other, less attention drawing, leeches. I don't think we have strength in depth and out youth system hasn't been functioning nearly as well as possible

Agree2 Disagree0

Sell ranger ? who would want to buy him,,, give him to the prison team on a free

Young Ince doing well would like us to make a bid.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

26 Jan 2013 17:08:27
Aubameyang bid rejected, just go and get van wolfswinkel to round off a brilliant transfer window and hopefully this should be the team for tuesday:
4-3-3
-------------------------Krul-------------------------
Debuchy-----S.Taylor-------Coloccini------Santon
--------------Cabaye--Anita--Sissoko--------------
-----Gouffran---------Cisse---------Marveaux-----
Subs:
Elliot
Yanga-Mbiwa
Haidara
Jonas
Bigirimana
Van Wolfswinkel
Sh. Ameobi

The only reason i'd put gouffran ahead of RVW is coz gouffran would of had more training sessions, I think we should get rid of jonas in the summer, provides nothing to the team.

Believable4 Unbelievable2

Get yanga in from the start future captain

Agree2 Disagree1

No way would I ahve S Taylor ahead of Mbwia. Mbwia is twice as good and he'll be twice as fir as S Taylor.

----------------Krul---------------
Debuchy---Mbwia--Colo---Santon
---------Anita----Sissoko---------
--------------Cabaye--------------
Gouffran------------------Marveaux
----------------Cisse---------------

Agree2 Disagree0

Mbiwa on the bench, are you crazy ese?

I guess you do not know much about this guy.

You are in for a big pleasant surprise.

Agree2 Disagree1

No ben arfa

Agree0 Disagree0

If you read the post it is the team for this Tuesday. Ben Arfa is injured!

Does any1 else think we should just sell colo.he doesn't want to be here.we should just cash in on him and look for a replacement.a want him to stay but if his hearts not in it, he's got going to be given 100%

Believable2 Unbelievable1

But the only team hel go to can't afford him so we can't sell him. I think we will give 100% anyway, he loves the club and is a real class act as a man and a footballer

Agree0 Disagree0

He, has been through a bad time think he will see out his contract with us, we all think the world of him, just a gut feeling.

Agree0 Disagree2

He is being sold in the summer don't you read the script

Agree2 Disagree0

Yes but a lot of water can run under the bridge before the summer.

Agree0 Disagree0

If he really respected us he wouldn't of wrote that letter imo.

awkward moment when mackems are criticising us for having so many french players when we've got more english players than them.

Believable6 Unbelievable1

Does it bother you what the Mackems think?

(original poster) I just like it when we own the mackems as per usual!

Well, its been a very successful transfer window, and i'm very upbeat for villa. But what would cap it off, would be to bring in aubameyang or van wolfswinkel. I reckon next season we can go back to challenging top 7 again! It's quite annoying though when people are criticising us for dipping into the french market all the time, i've already posted the amount of gems we've got so I won't go over them again. do you think i'm right Ed, that newcastle have done good business with bargains like mbiwa, cabaye and HBA, sissoko? Coz when you have a lot of french players, it raises morale and helps the team gel better, so its more like a whole group of 10 newcastle players going out to a restaurant for a bite rather than just 2 or 3 at a time. Do you think i'm right Ed?
Geordie Moses {Ed001's Note - the only problem I could see, would be if they don't integrate well with the players from other countries. So long as the club make sure they do things such as all sit mixed up at meal times, and that everyone has to speak English, I think it is a plus having lots of the same nationality. If they aren't integrated, you end up with the issues that Houllier's Liverpool suffered, lots of little cliques with no mingling. That showed on the pitch, with performances becoming disjointed.}

Believable6 Unbelievable1

Agree Ed, the players need guidelines set out and to be told that English is the first choice language.

Agree2 Disagree1

Right ok the french lads going to learn english why you only got 2 ?

Agree0 Disagree2

Football the beutiful game it don't matter what language you speak, put the ball in the back of the net ok....

With these new additions Pardew can change the style of our play during matches. We could push Debuchy and Santon to wings and put Anita in RB and Haidara in LB with Sissoko coming in as DM alongside Cabaye and Tiote(when he returns from AFCON).and on attacking front I can't start to think about the formation, in 4-4-2, Cisse and Gouffran upfront with HBA, Cabaye, Sissoko as attacking midfielders and Tiote /Anita in DM. But I still believe we could somehow use Obertan's pace and Marveaux's technical ability to the front, having said tat we should tighten our defence a bit more in the upcoming games . . . Any other suggestions guys? . . iToon.

Believable1 Unbelievable3

Just stop hoofing the ball would be a start

Dear Toon Fans,
We couldn't have asked for much more than this, we still might get another striker. Yes the window is still open and anything could happen but no one would have imagined 5 players who can go straight into the team (Debuchy, Sissoko) or push the current 1st teamers hard, coming into toon.

We got what we wanted, albeit 6 months too late, but we got it, lets get behind the team and the manager, starting at Villa on Tuesday. With a decent run of results, we could push top 10 from here.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

We have not really got what we wanted. In the summer we desperately wanted another striker and we did not get it. Now Ba has left so that meant we needed two more strikers and we have only got Gouffran. I truly believe we need to fill that opening and bring in a really hot young striker like Aubayemang, he would do great for us. We have 131 hours left of this window and I still hope for Ashley to cash out the 12 mills St Etienne wants...

Agree5 Disagree0

Can I sit on the fence and agree with both posts? (I know, spelks in my arse). I'd love to see a top-class striker in, if only for the possibility of Cisse getting injured, but with Cabaye and Sissoko driving on from midfield, perhaps Cisse will get better service and/or more goals will come from midfield? And Gouffran is an unknown quantity. What I wanted more than anything else was to see the back of Simpson and Willo, who were the source of 90% of the 'hoofball'.

Team for Tuesday (realistic):

Krul
Debuchy MBiwa Coloccini Santon
Obertan Anita Cabaye Marveaux
Gouffran Cisse

Bench:
Harper
S Taylor
Haidara
Sissoko (not enough training sessions to prepare for Villa although likely to appear from Bench).
Bigirimana
Shola
Perch or Sammy

Believable1 Unbelievable6

Obertan in starting 11 a joke but you could be right but I think 1st 11 will be... krul... debuchy... mbiwa... colo..santon... guti...anita.. cabaye if fit..marveaux...gouffran...cisse.

Agree4 Disagree1

Sissoko should go straight into the team, I would also like to see Haidara at Left Back with Santon on the left wing.

Obertan and Marveaux are good going forward but I worry about them drifting out of games and going missing when we are under pressure.

Krul
Debuchy Mbiwa Colo Haidara
Sissoko Anita Santon
Cabaye
Cisse Gouffran

Agree3 Disagree0

Put sissoko in instead of Obertan even if hasn't had training ground practice he would be better than obertan

Agree3 Disagree0

We'll go 4-3-3 mate.

The rules: Each club's 25-man squad should have a minimum of eight homegrown ... Only 17 'foreign' players are permitted. ... Clubs can use an unlimited number of Under-21 players in addition to their 25-man squad.
ed, we must be close to that now

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Look up the squad list yourself, you are supposed to be a fan.

No need to ask the Ed's to tell you about your club.

Agree0 Disagree2

Krul is classed as a homegrown player, plus the other 2 keepers, the two Taylors, Simpson, Perch and Shola and we are sorted.

pardew said gouffran is not a replacement for ba. Is there any strikers we are linked with ed? {Ed013's Note - Only Graham and Becchio that I have heard of}

Believable1 Unbelievable3

Didn't we bid for Aubayemang Ed? And what about Rikky from Sporting? Becchio I have read no connections at all about and Graham will not come to NUFC and I do not want him. I want a younger and better striker! {Ed013's Note - Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was a target, but I believe that interest has gone cold at the minute. There is a lot of of interest with Rikky and Newcastle are one of the clubs looking}

Agree2 Disagree0

I cannot see us being linked with Becchio, he knows where the back of the net is but he is a bit rough around the edges.

ashley spent some cash long overdue, pardew has made more mistakes than all the players put together.
pardew is a good impact manager but when things go wrong he can't cope, look at his record at other clubs great start then relegation after his 1st good season, hope its not that this time.
weve failed to dominate any teams all season we always look like the away side even at home, being 2nd best in most, we've been lucky with decisions from refs or would of been 4 points worse off, he was happy with his squad at start of the season even thou most fans could see it was paper thin, yes we've had injuries which is to be expected and we have had 8 extra games in europe which the management didn't foresee at the start of the season via the lack of transfers.in 2 1/2 years at the club he's failed to do any thing about our defence considering saylors always injured, continued to play people out of position shola right wing ffs, we havnt once won a game when gone behind, his substitutions are at best god damn awful over all i'm not impressed. on top of that our limp performances in the cup comps 3 years knocked out by lower league sides.if we were in the top 10 right now would these transfers have happened my guess no, therefore they are classed as panick buys, obviosly been well scouted and sound like quality players. fans pay lots of money for season tickets to be entertained and havnt seen much of that and it annoys me that some of these players couldn't have been bought at the start of the season to give us a chance of silverware or at least finish in a euro position in the league.
on the plus side we've finally spent some cash, lets hope it pays off.

Believable2 Unbelievable4

Man Utd have scored 14 times from corners this season.

If we could have scored from set pieces like that last season we would have been in the Champions league this season.

I would be surprised if we have scored from 1 corner going back to this time last season.
