Barton won't go, i would put serious money on him signing a new deal sooner rather than later. Enrique will be a liverpool player next season, forget man u, bayern etc. Charlie adam and n'zogbia deals won't happen, however fully expect a "wow" signing soon enough but i would also expect only one big name coming in.

dont get why everyone kicking off over barton? fair enough he was the fans player of the season but would everyone still be kicking off if Pardew brought it say for example menez or gervinho in place of him? don't think so. Pardew made it clear he was rebuilding the squad so as you expect some players are going to go, all the fans can . .do is wait to see what they bring in to replace the outgoing players and if they arn't up to expectation then fair enough. What i don't get though is if they don't want him at the club (or he doesn't want to be there depending what you believe) sell him now and get money for a replacement?

these rumours are getting out of hand a bit i think. can you honestly see Lukaku, Charlie Adam, Gervinho, Gameiro, Diego, Sturridge all joining Newcastle a not long ago championship team and selling Vuckic for 17.2mill, give it a rest guys.
Expect Carlton Cole, Graham, Maybe N'Zogbia and a few more championship players and westham players.
Barton looks set to leave too why would ashley keep him until next season to give away for free when he can get a few million now and get a replacement from lower leagues who are hungry with the cash from bartons sale. Nolan and Barton are bff's and this may have an effect on Nolans future at the club too.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

Sturridge and Gameiro are hardly unrealistic targets. . Lorient, a 7th place club in a league which is hardly the most prestigeous or NUFC a decent club in the "best league in the world" we might sit lower down the table but its still a step up. {Ed012's Note - Gameiro single handedly got them to 7th. hes scored 21 and got well over 10 assists for his club, Spurs, Arsenal and Liverpool want him as well as Newcastle.

Agree0 Disagree0

All the more reason for him to want to move to a more recognised league. THe French league is good, but it is nowhere near as recognised as the EPL/La Liga, or even the Bundesliga. Thats not to say he will come to us but he probably wants out of France, or at least to a top French club.

Agree0 Disagree0

Whoever said Vuckic to Milan for 17.2mil is mad. He hasn't featured in a league match this season and has only played in 2 cup matches.

Medhi Abeid is not going to get into our first team. He is a youngster that was brought in for the future.

Also, Barton not extending his contract is not necessarily a bad thing as he still has next season to play for us and when he leaves he will be 30, which means we can bring in someone younger to replace him.

Adam and Gameiro would all be great additions to play alongside Guttierez, Ben Arfa, Tiote and Nolan. N'Zogbia is a quality player but is not a must at the moment as we already have 2 very good wingers and Barton who can also play on the wing. I think Pardew and Ashley should focus on strengthening the areas that are weakest at the moment, and then worry about other areas. (Toon4Life)

Oh they're just a little town near Newcastle

Ohhh is that why Newcastle have a much better support and all players would rather play for Newcastle?

Yes that's right son

No son, that's Hartlepool. Very similar though.

if charlie adam has any sense at all he should join Newcastle, i agree that manchester united is a more 'attractive' club. i think he would find it harder breaking in the liverpool and tottenham teams too. Newcastle would start him week in week out. how many players regret and fail joining 'bigger clubs' (mr carrol)

NUFC 4 LIFE F.C.B SMB HOWAY THE LADS AND BRING SHEARER BACK HIM AND DROGBA

Believable0 Unbelievable3

That would be terrible news for us red and whites as they would win 10-1 next season or maybe just 10-0 as gyan will be off and no1 will want to join us

Agree1 Disagree1

I'm a Sunderland fan and I think that we need to stop looking at players like Gameiro who would never sign for us and look at more realistic targets like Jason Scotland and Jason Koumas. WBA also released Giles Barnes and Marcus Haber today so they could be good signings for our level of ambition. Hope we don't get relegated next season but we probably will. Oh well.

Agree2 Disagree2

Bull are you two sunderland fans, this is how sad you geordie's are now pretending to be sunderland fans. pathetic and ignorant b*stards get a f*cking life, you won't get Gamerio or Drogba or Adam or N'zogbia, you want to come back down from crazy land! Muppets! TOP DOGS! SO SHOVE THAT 5-1 UP YOUR ARSE! ! TALK ABOUT LOSING A 3-0 LEAD AGAINST WEST BROM! ha

Agree1 Disagree1

Talk abut losing a 2-0 lead against West Brom AND losing the game, dumb s**t. Try looking at your own results before you criticise ours.

We have as much chance of signing Gameiro or N'Zogbia as you do.

Agree1 Disagree1

Were the sad 1s yet your on our page.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes, I am a Sunderland fan, don't be so ignorant. I'm just realistic, our fanbase [most of] is so poor that they won't even turn up to our games so why would good players want to play in an empty stadium. ? Koumas, Scotland, Barnes and Haber would be good signings for a club like us.

Agree1 Disagree0

Talk about losing to WBA haha and 5-1 that's how s**t you are and incase u forgot N'zogbia started at newcastle we will always be a bigger club than u scum we have been in the champions league have u Nooooooooooo so shut it

Agree0 Disagree0

Realistic? you talking rubbish and you a very poor supporter if you believe that crap your saying, we were 2-1 up against West Brom before they came back, but losing from a 3-0 position is pathetic, you should get your statement correct before you put it on but you Geordie's are thick. What has not being top dogs settled in now? the arrogance is back from you lot, Drogba, Arshavin you lot been playing too much champ manager. SGBS

Agree0 Disagree0

Nobody here but you has said anything about Arshavin you f***ing mongo. You still got beat by WBA AT HOME. . you also lost to Wolves, and West Ham in the cup haha.

Agree0 Disagree0

Check your fans msgs off ages ago coz Arshavin was mentioned, you lost to Stevenage enough said! ! Do you want me to bring up the teams you lost to coz I'm pretty sure yours are worse, I'm not meaning the top sides I'm meaning average teams like Blackburn, Stoke etc. . SGB!

Agree0 Disagree0

"check your fans msgs off ages ago". This is an English speaking message board. Please come back when you aquire a level of education that enables you to converse at basic GCSE level. This may require that you travel to Newcastle everyday, as i hear that the schools in Sunderland are terrible. This has just been proven by you.

I reckon the Gervinho/Gameiro/Sturridge etc links are just a smoke screen to say we tried when there is no intention to spend money. I expect us to sign Larsson/Bothroyd/Upson/Re-Coker for nowt and replace Enrique with Ferguson and rely on kids. I think there is agood chance Barton will go this summer and Tiote will be off as well. Ashly just wants to claw back his loans and make teh club more solvent so he can get a betetr price for it.

Believable3 Unbelievable6

Whatever they wouldn't be making such big links unless there was actually a link

Agree1 Disagree1

There is some people who have got no patience m8 just w8 nd c nd if it does happen then complain about it

Agree0 Disagree1

What short memories you all have we have seen it every window that Ashley has been in charge, lowest net spend in teh league and in some cases making a profit. Loads of spurious links to players only for none of them to arrive unless we have sold current players to pay for them. Don't get me wrong some of what he does is good business sense and can turn up players like Tiote but the club have said they want young players on low wages who have potentially good re-sale values and on that basis we will not sign Gameiro/Gervinho/Mendes/N'Zogbia as they will get good wages elsewhere. There has to be a balancing act between sound financial sense versus paying market value wages, Shepherd went to far one way and Ashley is going too far the other. One paid over the odds for mercenaries who did not give a monkey's chuff about NUFC and gave them ridiculous salaries while the current regime think they can attract top young talent paying half of what other teams will. Carroll is a prime example, increased his weekly wage by £30k overnight moving to LFC so can't blame him for leaving.

Agree1 Disagree0

25 May 2011 15:12:52
Also on Barton. . We said he loves the club and wants to stay and get in top 6 next year. . He wanted to sign 5 years. . Club are only give 2 years he said he would take 4 they said no, so it's the club fault, he said he will still play his heart out for the last year. .

Believable1 Unbelievable1

4 years for a 29 year old. .that would not be good business. 3 at the most is what he shoudl have got.

Agree2 Disagree0

What u on about there loads of players who are playing in the prem who are 33+ he had 1 of the best passing % in the prem last year he crossing was alsome and work rate was alsome he should be getting 4 or 5 year deal u know the last 2 years he will be sub but he would of help us in the first 3

Agree0 Disagree0

To be fair for the money we'll get for him now we may as well have signed him up until he retires. He's probably got at least 2 good seasons left in him and if it didn't work out after that, sell him. Not like we'd lose out on £20m or something, we'll probably sell him for £6-7m max if we sell him now.

Agree0 Disagree0

Any 33+ players in the EPL that are any good have always been good Drogba/Giggs etc Barton has had 1 maybe 2 good seasons for City and then flashes for us apart this season as he has either been injured or banged up. He should have shown some loyalty and taken the 2 years and then proved to the board that he is the best English Midfielder in the country to merit getting another one after that. If he had got a 5 year contract he would have been back to his old tricks in the secure knowledge of getting paid no matter what he did, it is no coincidence that this has been his best season when he is wanting a new contract.

Agree1 Disagree0

The thing is, if he signs a 5 year contract then he gets the same wage for the whole 5 years. If he signs a 2 year he gets 2 years of a good wage here, and then either has to take a cut, or gets released to a club where he earns less anyway. Stands to reason he wants a longer contract.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agreed if you are Joey Barton but it also makes sense for the club not to give it to him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Definitely, is that is actually the case. I mean I dislike Ashley but every time something happens people are so quick to jump on him like its all his fault. Its like they don't even consider that the player and his agent might have some part in it.

Same with Carroll, he was "forced out" yeah right, like anyone is buying that, nobody gets forced out of a club when they've signed a new contract 3 months before. Sure they would have wanted the 35m but if he REALLY wanted to stay he could have, his head was turned by the larger wage just the same.

I bet Barton either wants more money, or he wants a longer contract to sustain his high wages.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 May 2011 15:04:36
I think Barton been are best player all year and last year puts his heart in to every game. . He on 40, a week he should be on 60, he right to see if we sign any1. .

So we effectively lose our best right sided player to replace him with a left footed central midfielder that we do not need. . .don't think so.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Agreed, can't see where he fits in really. He will not play ahead of Nolan/Tiote and was AP not saying he needs to add pace to the side, something which Adam clearly does not have.

Agree0 Disagree0

Would defo start in front of Nolan

Agree0 Disagree0

Start in front of Nolan! Are you mad, not only is he our skipper, the heart of the team but also our top scorer. All Adam is good for is corners, the odd long cross field ball and the numerous mistakes that gift possesion to the opposition in wrong areas. He is over hyped and over rated. I hope we do not sign him as he is not a step in the right direction.

Agree0 Disagree1

Sorry but Adam only good for corners and the odd few cross field passes and mistakes. . errrrm am pretty sure he can hit a quality free kick and his bursts from midfield and he keeps things ticking.

Agree0 Disagree0

Krul/Forster/Harper

FW- new signing NOT BEST, AMEOBI, LOVENKRANDS!

Need more than 1 striker and a centre back, but this is as it stands with Barton set to go, don't think its too bad a base to start with new signings coming in. Hopefully not Larsson or any other mediocre free transfer. Psycho

Agree0 Disagree0

All Charlie Average does is set pieces and play the Hollywood pass. He's like a f***ing quarterback. He would be an ok signing, not someone we should prioritise though.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm not saying Adam is without quality but do you really think that spending up to £10m of our precious budget for someone who can take a decent free kick and decent corner is worth it when we have no one able to get on the end of any quality except Nolan who you claim he would replace in the team! ! It is not rocket science taking corners/free kicks and we have players already who can do that when our priorities are 2 strikers a winger a new RB and a LB to replace the Bull if/when he goes. Adam has one OK year in the PL yet suddenly he is good enough to replace a consist PL performer. You are typical of the sort of fickle fans that base player opinions on MoTD highlights instead of facts. Fact - Blackpool went down even with Adam having an aleged brilliant season, Fact - we would have gone down without Nolan's goals.

Cant beliebe the fuss today. If the the likes of Charlie Adam, Gervinho etc. are true then what a summer this could be. Actually excited but lets see. Really hope we are not just doing the old ' we tried and are seen to be putting the effort in' thing but nothing comes off. But extremely optimistic. As for Barton. . .The club and fans have stuck by him more than anyone ever would. If he and his agent are playing games looking for a big money/high wages move. get on with it. Showing the true Joey Barton all over again! With Jonas and Ben Arfa and players linked, we will be more than okay next year. Psycho

to be honest i aint surprised about the barton fiasco i believe it a case of brinkmanship on the part of mr makay! at the end of the day he not irreplaceable he had a gwd 2 season 1 albeit in the champ but he had his share of bad games this season! Its all about replacing him which we shuld do.(WelshToon)

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Well at least we know why Ashley was at the training ground, if indeed he was. Bl00dy typical we get all excited with rumours of Gervinho, bids for Gameiro and Sturridge, Ashly being at the training ground so something MUST be going on. . .yes us signing nobody as usual and further weakening our squad as usual. Never mind we can replace him with FOC Larsson who did such a great job helping Birmingham stay up!

Agree1 Disagree0

One player can't keep a team up though, look at Scott Parker, one of the best performing midfielders in the League, carried West Ham all season but obviously he alone couldn't save them.

Larsson is a good player and would be a good signing especially on a free. Only problem is he seems to be tired about 20 minutes before the end of every game.

No deal for barton - what has the world come to?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

n, zogbia is a tricky 1 martinez has quoted sayin he will not let him leave to a side in champions league but its all down to charles himself does he want to leave??? I been told hes keen on a return to newcastle. As of mehdi abied he already signed on monday with tiote and hbarfa persuadin him and they will also help persuade frenchman gamerio and tiote with ivorian gervinho future is lookin bright! As for a new right bk i agree simpson is a tad weak but is young but just backs off to much which causes chaos didn't like his part with his late rush out which handed wba a goal sunday but maybe m.bougherra could solve the issue! The 25-year-old was the subject of a protracted transfer battle in January, which eventually saw him join West Ham from Bundesliga side Hoffenheim.

Doubts about Ba's overall fitness were soon quashed and he has shone for the Hammers with seven goals in just 12 games.

Despite his efforts West Ham lost their battle to stay in the league and now he is set to move, with skysports.com of the understanding he will be staying in the Premier League.

Ba has already told Sky Sports that he is not thinking about his future, but he could very well have a new employer before the end of the month.

The likes of Sunderland, Newcastle and Aston Villa have been linked in recent weeks, but skysports.com can reveal that more than half-a-dozen Premier League clubs are keen on landing his signature.

Agreed, seems comfortbale with either foot, good skills on the ball and pacey too and that right foot reminds me of a certain sheet metal workers son. The only thing not seen is if he can heed teh baal.

If Joey Barton is wanting to leave then let him but I will say he owes the club and fans alot more than one decent season. It wasn't that long ago that he was doing time inside and both stood by him, I can't see many other clubs doing that. Either sign or leave and stop pretending your bigger than the club ! ! We don't need anymore Owens at the club. .
