any more info on this santon rumour ed? watching the game and its a planely obvious that danny simpson isnt good enough and never has been, he has stood out as the weak link in an already poor team. how the lad progressed through one of the best youth systems in the world and became a multi millionaire footballer i will never know, id rather have alain goma back

Love how everyone is jumpin on the ryan taylor band wagon just because he has scored 2 free kicks, including you ed, his ability in open play, positioning, heading, tackling, pace etc. are awful, he is one of the worst footballers at the club, when el mohammady from the mackems goes past you for fun, you know you are a bad player

I never said Raylor was a quality player, I just said if its between him and Simo, he will push for the RB spot, as defenders theres not much between them, theyre both average at best, in attacking sense Simo is better at getting up and down the line and can have a good cross in him at times, but think Raylor has much better passing range in general, and then the free kicks obviously.. its close but Simpson shouldnt be automatically considered the best RB at the club, needs to start proving it game in and game out}

Any ways ryan taylor said after pre season he wants the rightback role. he is actually doing well at left back.

Glad you said that mate, I know some geordies who thought lastnight was a class win, Scunthorpe a side 19th in league 1 and have played 4games and won none. sunderland are out and we were never going to win it and newcastle won't win it either

It ain't going to happen but Ashleys got to dip into his pocket NOW, and buy two strikers and two fullbacks. Sturridge 15m Defoe 10m Peters or cissiko 6m or 9m and Santon 8m. We need two strikers who are going to move into channels and have some imagination in there play and atleast look like they want to be on the pitch and try. Otherwise it's going to be a long hard season. We don't look like scoring 1 goal in 21/2 games and that from a free kick.

THis game against Scunthorpe we look rubbishe. Marveaux looks promising and our most dangerous player. Demba Ba he's worse than Shola Ameobi. Lovenkrands and Simpson not good enough.

Oh and we need a decent manager and owner.

Agreed, marveaux looks great, sammi looks good once he came on, gossling and simpson look shocking, didnt deserve extra time from 1st half performance, but 2nd when the young lads came on we look alot better. future looks good with them but we really really really need a decent striker no matter how much it cost. toon col

Thing is that people think that raylor should play rb when we get pieters but he's just as bad in defence as perch or Simpson. His freekicks may be world class but in defence he's rubbish. So santon AND pieters

Some 'fans' need to open their eyes, its the first few games of the season, would you rather we did what the mackems did, fly out the traps, hit december and not win a game afterwards, give the players a chance to bed in, look what man utd do, albeit on a grander stage, pick up results early season, and hit their run going into the latter season, lay off ba, gosling, simpson etc. for a few weeks, guarentee you will be the same fickle fans chanting their names

Give Ba some time, he must be under pressure everyone's exeptecting him to be brilliant must be alot of pressure on him but marveaux looks good and sammy ameobi

Ba is a poor mans Ameobi,got same movement (slow) but less skill. Absolute joke giving him a contract.

Personally don't think we need to replace
Barton as we have Vuckic who is more skillful
and we have Gosling who is a great box
to box midfielder.
Also would rather we just sign Emnes than
Maiga as i don't really think he's good enough.
Even Shola could score 15 goals for Sochaux
when you,ve got service from Martin and boudebouz.

Gosling has been the worst player on the pitch so far

I said Emnes rather than Maiga don't really want either but i'll take it you haven't seen Maiga play he wont do anything in the Premiership.

Gosling played well against Scunthorpe all did but the first half was the real struggle

After all the grief ive given to some SAFC supporting mates this week over us and brighton beating them, i sure hope we get a good result at Scunthorpe tonight lol

Is anyone that comes in now a panic buy considering our failures so far and the amount of time we've had to replace key players? I'm not having a moan I'm just getting more anxious as the days go by

NO like AP said "we have a plan A, plan B and a plan C but would rather go with plan A" and "if plan A cant be done then plan B or C will" so not panic buys or just guess work. Some have been scouted for months but NUFC have waited to see how they start their respective leagues and what the form dictates

Yes punch does like to say the right things but we must be on plan g or summit with a striker by now

Im a newcastle fan and was disapointed to see joey go, but dont understand why some toon fans are having such a hard time accepting it. carroll left for more money, enrique left for more money nolan left for more money and now barton is doing the same. HOW ARE YOU STILL SURPRISED, GET OVER IT these are people who should have stayed (especially carroll) if they wanted to play for us and be fan favourites. Im actually optimistic, got 4 points from 6, who honestly would of seen us doing that? and got players who are still adjusting to the pl. pieters is coming to ncl for talks then theres news on them two french strikers. florent malouda told he can leave chelsea now that mata has arrived. surely worth a bid. play him as a second striker, plenty of pace and can score a few goals. reckon a bid of 7-10mil would get him, the only problem being...wages. but with 60k being freed up from bartons likely move surely this is worth a gamble by MA

We all know we need a LB and FW at the very least, but the best signing for me at the moment would be replacing DL with Chris Mort. He communicated with the fans and I think he genuinely cared about the club, and he might just be able to get some cash off Ashley for players

Plus Mort's est. 150k salary helped with that, Llambias is earning less than that, Mike Ashley saves/makes money everywhere he can, including with his head honchos
