Carroll's made his bed, he had his chance at the toon, but he blew it! !
Us fans stuck with him through all the trouble he got into, he got the legendary number 9 shirt, we were gonna build a team around him but he turned his back on us. Im still gutted about it but its time to move on. . . £35 million to spend! !(hopefully)

Does this mean you wouldn't welcome him back? i definatley would and feel he was forced to hand in transfer request as 35 million was too good too turn down and Ashley didn't have to take more stick from the fans and even better Newcastle wouldn't have to pay out the rest of his contract

I believe there was no middle ground. He'd signed a contract and they couldn't force him to leave. I don't think we did enough to keep him, or he wanted to stay that badly. I guess I'd be happy enough if he came back, but he's turning out to be a bit of a crock.

I personally will never forgive him.

Yeah agree with the person a couple posts above that there was no middle ground. I reckon ashley was happy to accept the money(tbf £35 million is a great deal for us) and i don't think carroll wanted to stay as much as he said he did, he chose the money.
So as i said carrolls made his bed, lets move on and build a good team with the £35 million and push for a european spot.

You know whats funny? In the morning he stated in one of the newspapers, 'I wnna play for newcastle and wear the number nine' And i can defo remember him saying before a Super sunday Game when newcastle were being televised one week before the transfer record ' I want to break alan shearers goalscoring record. What A prick!

Exactly mate. He had a 5 year contract, no one could have FORCED him out the club. If he wanted to stay he would have.

Hi Ed i hear alot of a Paddy Mcourt not so much on this site but i have friends in and around newcastle utd and this name pops up any news or info (WelshToon) {Ed007's Note - I'm actually a Celtic supporter. McCourt has great individual skill although his fitness is rather questionable. His nickname of the Derry Pele sums up the type of player he is as in he will get the ball and just run and dribble past defenders. His career up here has stalled a bit and there is rumours he could move on this window. TBH I don't know who has shown interest apart from Blackpool but that seems to have cooled down. Which deluded mackem is posting the rubbish about Joey Barton? Its been posted no-where that he has turned down a contract.
Joey Barton's contract negotiations are on-going.

As for these pathetic rumours about Joey, They must be from someone so much in denial about their own squad's (Sunderland) goings on that they are forced to spread drabble on here.
Lets face it, Sunderland need to sell to buy and to be fair i can't see many leaving - Gyan maybe to Spurs and Henderson to Manchester United and that's about it. Meaning they have a max of 10 million or so to spend. Villa have not yet paid up the whole £18m from the Bent sale - Clause that he needs to play a certain number of games before the whole amount is given. Sunderland will be looking for Free Transfers at the best.
Newcastle on the other hand, Money in the pot to spend and hopefully some good signings on the way.

I said Barton was looking to leave this morning. If it's confirmed then so be it. If you don't want to be here then go. Same goes for Jose. No one player is bigger than Nufc. And it's not like he's irreplaceable. More than enough quicker more skilful & younger options out there, if we havnt targeted them already. You can't tell me the club didn't suspect this might happen.
If he does go, like I said this morning Charlie Adam would be an ideal replacement. Wether we can get him is another matter???? (RutDog)

Reports linking Carlton Cole with a move north are thought to be wide of the mark, with Freddie Piquionne a more likely target.

West Ham have one excellent striker in Ba, one average striker in Piquionne and one s**t striker in Cole. Figures we'll completely overlook the excellent one.

IMO Freddie Piquionne would be a great squad player think he is one of the best strikers in the Premiership at winning the ball in the air and is alot better with his feet than Ameobi and Lovenkrands.

Aye he's pretty good, but I'd take Demba Ba over him any day. 7 goals in 11 for a team as out of shape as West Ham is class.

i'm a realist ok and i know for a fact we won't be getting Green, N'Zogbia, Ba, Defoe or Drogba (still expect some different quality signings).
Also the future of Enrique isn't here, plus barton won't sign a new contract so i expect us to take good money while we still can.
So people expect some good signings but be reallistic and don't fill peoples heads with this rubbish it's embarressing

with nickika jelavic going in the other direction for £9/10 million

Why would we pay £1.5m for lovenkrands when he's p*sh, also wouldn't touch smith with a barge pole as he's past it, isn't a midfielder or a striker, so no reason to purchase him. So keep them both.

Also, you would need to up the £9/10m to get jelavic, the guys a class act, fair play if you get him, but would require more cash I'm affraid
