Chopra available.
Expect a bid from Kinnear.
Can keep Cisse company in the casino.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Chopra would be perfect for Sunderland judging by alitidore performance.

Agree0 Disagree0

He'd probably be better than Altidore, he had a shocker against spurs!

Agree0 Disagree0

Set up 1 run his socks off had chances, not bad for first game. missed chances but was there to miss. look at cissy u all hate him now and I'll bet josy scores more than he did last year. notice how he's the only player singled out considering they "average" and wouldn't get on ya bench. give em s*** jeez

Agree0 Disagree0

Altidore for the worst signing of the season! LOLOLOLOL

Agree0 Disagree0

Did Chopra not score a goal for us once - can't remember who it was against.

can anyone explain the point of bringing Adam Campbell on to play the last 5 minutes in a friendly. does Pardew have any idea what he is doing

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I am one of the more positive fans that rarely complains, but Adam Campbell getting 5 minutes in a friendly is pathetic. Inexcusable!

who would fans prefer remy or Vydra?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Remy all day long

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Jul 2013 16:32:49
Why don't we try for Matej Vydra from Udinese he would cost about £6m, surely he is a better option then bent or remy? Any comments welcome

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Mat try 9m that is wot sunderland where told

Agree0 Disagree0

Wouldnt you still go for it?

Agree0 Disagree0

Doesn't matter who we "think" they should go for. Never going to happen. Relegation battle every season now. As long as we just about stay in perm Ashley will be happy. I used to be optimistic every season. What happened to the 5 year plan?

Agree0 Disagree0

Ehh wouldn't rule this out

I see our bunch of average nobodys beats a very strong tottenham whilst your "superheros" managed a draw against the crown and anchor from albufeira lol

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Everyone knows Tottenham are a 1 man team. Bale was not playing and none of their new signings were playing.

Agree0 Disagree0

They are still miles apart from the garbage you played last night

Agree0 Disagree0

Its a pre season friendly, do you really think tottenham care? I heard that altidore had a shocker!

Agree0 Disagree0

As soon as I seen the score you knew the mackems would be out banging their drums. You beat Spurs reserve well done. Altidore did have a shocker missed 3 sitters.

Agree0 Disagree0

Wonga wonga wonga
Cisse leaving stronger
No signings now or longer
We owned by a plonker

What we need are strikers
So come on mike
Get out your cash
Mr ash

Wonga do the loans
So splash the cash to stop our moans

Agree0 Disagree0

When will you lot stop whining on?
Wasnt Sunderlands first team either.
Spurs a one man team from a person who supports a team with only Cabaye who would possioly get into the Spurs team.
Not bad result for a bunch of 'no one has heard ofs'.
Lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

Win 1 friendly and they think they going to Winn the prem

Agree0 Disagree0

Altidore missed one sitter. they may have had a few of their reserves out but they had Adebayor, Defoe, Walker and other first team players playing.

Agree0 Disagree0

How many have you won?
As many as the number of senior players you have sgned.
NONE.
LOL.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lloris, Kaboul, Vertonghen, Assou-Ekotto, Sandro, Dembele, Paulinho, Holtby, Chadli and Bale didn't play, put these players in it's a completely different game.

However I did think yous played well especially considering the state of the pitch, and it was good to see Wes Brown playing football again after so long out.

Agree0 Disagree0

Spurs reserves? that comment just screams to me jealously bitter mags, we didn't play our strongest team either and we brought on loads of our squad players as spurs did and we showed them up, friendly my ass its a very popular tournament in asia, screened worldwide to millions and our so called nobody, championship, marveaux better than them all players turned spurs over, I bet you lot are worried now as all that rubbish you spouted is thrown back in your face, who were you playing last night and midweek again? rio de janerio or sumit!

Agree0 Disagree0

Jeez showing his lack of football knowledge again. Apart from bale all player positions are arguable in comparison to the two teams

Agree0 Disagree0

Newcastle have won 1 friendly jeez, so not none.

Agree0 Disagree0

I am sorry.
Was I wrong about the signings too?

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd rather have no one than sunderlands signings

Agree0 Disagree0

Youve got no one, your wish has been granted.

Why do the likes of jToon continue to say we have a fantastic squad? Did you sleep through the whole of last season? Although Pardew says " i'm happy with our defence", it LEAKED almost 70 goals last season, 2nd worst in the premier league! We cannot score goals, we have NO wide men who can cross past the first defender and no-one who will score double figures from midfield.
In my eyes, never missed one game last season, home or away, domestic and european, I can see that TWO Strikers, TWO wide men and at least ONE commanding centre back are required MINIMUM.
As a lot of previous posts have stated, the club will not go forward with the current regime and one can only hope that a buyer would come forward and remove this man from our club.
Wilie, Sting, Brian Johnson, Ant+Dec, Robson Green, John Hall, Freddie Shepherd, Cheryl Cole, Shearer, ALL profess their love for our club. Surely they will have the finance and contacts to launch a takeover bid and make every Geordie in the world happy.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

We have a quality defence, midfield, attack, just needs strengthening a bit and gelling

Agree0 Disagree0

I thought that the problem with your defence is that it was manned by a load of stiffs.

cisse caught on camera in casino he's a bloody hypocrite stop paying his wages surely he is breaking his contract. by refusing to wear shirt anyway just get shot of him he's a waste of time. he needs to learn the offside rule and he only ever was flash in the pan. total di*khead

Believable0 Unbelievable0

That 'person' as you call him kept us up with his goals. Try sticking to the issue which is his moral stance towards Wonga not his lack of football skills.

Agree0 Disagree0

Moral stance against wonga? Your kidding right. He is caught on camera in a casino gambling which Muslim are not allowed to do. He will happily wear a Virgin Money logo and a Barclays logo on his shirt both lend money with interest the only difference between them and Wonga is the leve of interest rates. Double standrads preaching its against his religion when your doing this. Hypocrite. Would have more respect for him if he just I want to leave. No need for the bulls**t.

Agree0 Disagree0

He's kicking up a fuss, because he wants a russian or london club to come in for him and double or triple his wages.

Agree0 Disagree0

"Kept us up with his goals". A good striker wouldn't have missed half the chances that were created for him. The only goals he scored last year we in the 93rd minute of games after missing chance after chance for the whole game. A good striker would have had a better shot to goal ratio.

Agree0 Disagree0

All the same we would of sunk without his goals but apparently you can't bring yourself to thank him for it. He had 7 ruled wrongly offside had they been given he would of had 20 goals, not bad for a guy who got naff all service and spent half the season out wide!. As for him going to casinos that's for his conscience to deal with not ours. The Wonga thing is the issue please try and stick to it without making it so personal.

Agree0 Disagree0

Thank him for what? Doing his job and getting paid extremely well for the honour. Like I said if he said I want to leave I would have more respect for him rather use his double standard religious excuses. Take the blinkers off.

Agree0 Disagree0

You are the one with the blinkers I think. You cannot get passed your hatred for him it would seem. Yes he is most likely using Wonga as an excuse to leave but to label him a d***head as some have done is going too far. His goals did keep us up FACT. If he wants out fair enough, apparently he won't be missed by some on here. I for one would like to know who is going to replace his goals cause we look pretty toothless without him and no sign of any incomings so far. By the way if he stays I take it you won't be cheering on any goals he does score;).

Cisse is nothing but a joke to our club (the club is a joke it's self). The sooner we can get shot of this so called professional the better! He clearly wants nothing to do with us (thinking he is a lot bigger, I think)

"I will not wear a Wonga sponsored top as it is 100% against my religion!"
(but on the other hand I will wear a top sponsored by Virgin).

"I cannot gamble as it is 100% against my religion!"
(but on the other hand I will have a look in one, place a few bets while the lads are away training).

"I still want my 60,000 a week wage, enough though I am not training with the team, and very clearly do not care!"

Get shot of this total waste of space! I know we can't afford to lose anyone else, and no way can we lose a striker. But can we really be putting up with this stupid attitude from a player?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He's not on that wage. He's actually on very little as a lot goes directly to Senegal charity's.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree, he does a lot for his people back home. He is not a waste of space but is a hypocrite it would seem.

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh so he just doesn't want to be seen as a bad person to the charities he donates to. Good for him for donating some of his wages to it but still, he needs to sort his priorities out.

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe he is sorting out his priorities, maybe he'd rather play for a better manager and team with ambition cause we ain't showing any. : (

I don't know why we persist with playing 4231! It doesn't work. They only way it would stand a chance is moving Cab to attacking mid, moving Sissoko back to play with Tiote, Ben Arfa on the right, Guffy on the left and a CF who can score goals if Cisse goes.

Jimmy1976

Believable0 Unbelievable0

4231 is the best way to play especially away from home but you have to have 2 good wingers and a midfield that can pass.

We have Cabeye in CM and Ben Arfa on one wing but that's it. Need a left winger and a CM that can pass.

Likes if Bernard and Shaqiri are out of our reach but Alessandrini and Traore playing in France look good and would not break to bank.

Am lost for the CM though, only player that have seen lately who I have been impressed with is Verratti. But again is too good for us.

Agree0 Disagree0

Did you watch the last friendly game? I did. Cabs is playing far too deep, Ben Afra was playing in a free role behind Shola which didn't work, Sammy A was playing left mid and was shocking and Sissoko was on the right which for me is a waste. Like I said for this 4231 formation to work, Sissoko and Tiote in the CM role, Cabs in an attacking midfielders role, Ben Arfa on the right and Guffy or Marv on the left, but we will need a CF that can play back to goal as our current stayle of play is rather long ball. We also need to work out a game plan for corners and free kicks as there is clearly a problem in that area.

Sorry to say it, But it's going to be a long, long season. We are just not good enough. Fact.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Fact? Really? I'll tell you what on paper, this is one of the best teams I've ever seen at newcastle. Whether they can play together is a different question. Give them and Pardew a chance, we have a better squad than the one that finished 5th.

Now is not the time to say things like that.

Agree0 Disagree0

Jtoon loves Newcastle so much so he is blinded by love and loyalty. #rosetintedspecs.

Agree0 Disagree0

JToon, If this is one of the best teams you've seen at Newcastle then you must be about 13 or 14 years old. Stick to your Xbox son.

Agree0 Disagree0

I love The Toon with a passion but there is no way we will ever go forward under this regime. It's all about money making for Ashley, as long as he makes a nice little profit he's happy. I'm sure he thinks we are one of his C**p shops.

Agree0 Disagree0

No, you can call me deluded, 14years old, blinded, rose tinted specs all you want but at least I know you are the ones who have been blinded by all this negativity. I know my football very well, and listening or reading your comments are so aggravating it sounds like you only just became a supporter yesterday. The fact that you are writing this season off already is appalling. Yes we have had some bad weeks in appointing kinnear, not bringing in any players (soon we will though) but to write us off completely is just ignorant. it's like you want us to do bad. You cannot judge the players straight away from trying to settle in at a difficult time in january, and trying to gel in pre season. Look at manchester united, they just lost another pre season game! Does it matter? NO. Pre season is about getting match fitness and gelling. Yes it is nice to get a winning mentality but you cannot judge our squad like that.

Krul-Top top goalkeeper wanted by lots of clubs in europe.
Debuchy-French regular international, still settling in, great right back I look forward to seeing the best of him next season.
M'Biwa-I still can't believe we got him. for just 6m, a champions league club captain. Why did we get him? because we were the bigger club and he wanted to leave.
Coloccini-Team of the year 11/12?
Santon-Great potential, great attitude, will become a top class player.
Tiote-Great attitude, absolute beast 10/11 and 11/12. but last season was out of form but if we play well he will return to good form.
Sissoko-Bargain, great box to box powerhouse, great potential.
Cabaye-Top top class midfielder, chased by man u, arsenal, psg and monaco.
Ben Arfa-Another top top player. Our "Mercurial One" great attitude, loves the club loves the fans as we love him, almost unplayable 11/12.
Gouffran-Id say he's a decent player, maybe not top but good player for us.
Cisse-Although he looks likely to leave, he is a top striker.

That is why I know we've got a top squad. Pardew is a good manager, maybe is a bit clueless sometimes (Like 12. 13) but he got us to 5th playing some great football.

i'm simply just sweeping bits of news like appointing joe kinnear, to the side because I know its for the benefit of the club, ok maybe it could of been a different DOF but anyway. Things like not making a signing yet, I know we will because you simply cannot judge by what the media report. Ashley, kinnear and charnley aren't just going to be sitting on their ar$es all day doing nothing, they will be in negotiations for 3 or 4 players because they know we can't have a season like last one again, and ashley knows that especially well, who will learn from his lessons from not buying enough players to cope with europa.

You will probably just scan through that, and just pluck something else from the air to moan about and try and contradict me, and you probably won't listen to my opinion simply because one person isn't going to change your mind.

Its just really frustrating reading some people's negative comments on here, because they are so blinded by what the news reports and just judge from pre season. I'm not going to reply back if you do happen and probably will just throw my opinion and point out the window and continue to be negative and moan all the time. The main point here is that its a new season, new things and we should get behind the team not write them off. I bet you lots of fan's minds will change when we bring in a few players like Remy and Gomis.

Agree0 Disagree0

Our squad could be amazing on paper but for some reason they're poor on grass which is all that matters.
Yes you're correct the results in preseason are irrelevant but the performances are important yet we still struggle to pass, look poor defensively, still can't play with this 4231 formation and the most worrying thing is Pardew thinks we played good Yesterday.
You say Pardew is a good manager, what is that based on? Finishing 5th once? Why was he dropping down the leagues?
