At the maxium newcastle will have to pay 7mil for carroll because 10 million of installments havnt been payed yet, so if ba goes for 7 mil then ashley wont be paying a penny. Ashley is a buisness man and is more inteligent than he looks

Believable1 Unbelievable4

So the £35 million up front fantastic piece of business, deal of the century, aren't we really clever for foxing Liverpool, isn't Mike great wasn't actually ! It was on the drip ! Typical Geordies - blah, blah, blah !

Agree0 Disagree1

Inteligent Ashley you should tell him this as he does not know about this situation with the money and he is the one who brokered the deal

Agree0 Disagree0

Funny, it's a policy of ours to always receive (and give) money up front in one payment. Llambias has said himself, albeit after having a few too many, that Liverpool paid the money straight up so where are you getting this from?

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't get upset. It's not our fault Liverpool paid way over to odds for Carrol to please the masses due to Torres wanting to leave for a bigger club. Liverpool also paid all the money up front or both parties say they did. Llambis and the yanks have said as much. Look on the Liverpool site they were discussing this yesterday. Regardless..What does it matter it was a great bit of business. So I would say MA is intelligent. I very much doubt you become a multi billionaire without a bit of intelligence.

I have always felt the deal for debuchy was doubtful... But from what I have found the problems lie between both boards, lille want a large sell on Clause in the deal or upwards of 9mil which MA will not have. Still looking at rosales and Jung from the continent plus home grown players trippier and jason Lowe, as pardew would like t keep santon on the left which rules out cissokho! The debuchy saga should be finished this week but still up in the air..
Expect a cb, cm and possibly a striker (more hopeful than anything) what do you think targets wise ed?

Mac boy {Ed001's Note - it is very difficult to be sure now with Newcastle, so many different targets get suggested, they all seem likely but it is difficult to tell whether they are just educated guesses. I mean Alou Diarra, while not truly fitting the usual profile, was suggested, but was someone just assuming he was possible because he plays in France?}

Believable1 Unbelievable1

Seems like no one knows anything and it is all guesses
Believe nothing until it happens and if it is going to it will be in the next 10 days or NUFC will look like a pack of clowns.

rubin kazan have apparently triggered demba ba's release clause, he is talking to reps from rubin and MA will not offer him a new contract as he will use the money for andy carroll. AP has told MA carroll is the striker he wants, also expect an unknown young striker to come in on a cheap deal as back up as MA wont spend more than 3 mill for a back up sub striker. i personally wouls love to see carroll and cisse as our front line with Ben Arfa and Marveux on the wings if marveux can prove his fitness.

Believable0 Unbelievable2

In other words you know nothing just like us all

With debuchy coming to the toon hopefully, i really think we should get remy instead of carroll. With a front 3 of cisse ba remy who all fluent french why would we get carroll who only speaks english?

And also debuchy ben arfa cabaye cisse ba remy who all speak fluent french, anyone think we should put a cheeky bid in for sakho the cb from psg?

Believable6 Unbelievable2

Ben arfa?

Agree2 Disagree0

I would love to sign Sakho, his wages might be too much and PSG have no need to sell so it's pretty unlikely. Also our basis for signing him should not be that he speaks French...

I know its rubbish but wikipedia has Debuchy down as a Newcastle player. Also has him as number 7 so i cant see it being true.

Believable0 Unbelievable2

Amalfitano has been given the number seven

Agree0 Disagree3

I can't see Debuchy coming due to Lille refusing to move from their £8m valuation sadly. What do you think Eds ,any chance at all now?. {Ed001's Note - there is always a chance of a compromise being reached.}

Agree1 Disagree0

Amalfitano had 17 in preseason not 7?

just been on the liverpool page to see if i could get any gen on carroll coming to us one guy is saying ( they are looking to sell carroll to us so they can buy david villa ) pmsfl and they call us deluded ...geordie tom

Believable4 Unbelievable2

I know mate. I visit that Liverpool page daily its always good for a laugh.

Agree2 Disagree0

David Villa?and why is that not believable?.
Liverpool are one of the biggest clubs in world yes world football.have a rich owner,Trophy room full of silverwear,a new manager.and after a poor season where they still won a cup, newcastle apparently had a good season but suprise suprise still won nowt lol.your deluded.

Agree1 Disagree4

It's not believable because if Liverpool paid 35 million pounds for Andy Carroll, 20 million for Jordan Henderson and a similar amount to Downing, then David Villa is way out of your price range. Moreover, the team David Villa plays for happens to be Barcelona, plus he's just recovered from a broken leg, why would he move anywhere let alone Liverpool when he's just recovered.

Furthermore your trophy cabinet is fairly dusty by now, besides the Beer trophy that you beat Cardiff on penalties for. Yes we can't say we won a trophy this year, and i can't speak for every toon fan, but i'd rather get into the europa league at 5th place and take the extra cash to continue growth than win the Carling cup in 8th place. But i guess you have rich owners so you're happy with winning the Carling every year because the money doesn't matter.

Give over please, I'm fed up of arrogant scousers talking about how great their club is. Your manager is now Brendan Rodgers, You've been mugged out of almost 75 million pounds in the last 18 months by Villa, Sunderland and Newcastle. Those players through one way or another have been useless overall.

Back to the point, you won't sign David Villa, don't be a wally, he plays for Barcelona, and you're only Liverpool..

Agree3 Disagree0

Was watching ssn yesterday quoting liverpools rich owner he said they wont pay £50 million for a player david villa (should he come on the market ) would go for over £ 50 mill in the current market.granted they won a cup last season but they struggled against the mighty cardiff .one of the biggest clubs in world football might of been 10 years ago ...not us lot who are deluded...geordie tom

Agree2 Disagree0

If you are comparing yourself to Barcelona then 'deluded' doesn't even come close to describing you.

Rumours are that AC Milan put in a €7 million euro bid for mbiwa of Montpellier, a player we have been strongly linked with. I think that despite the extra cost, he woulv be a better player to sign than Douglas as he is younger and more versatile.

Believable9 Unbelievable0

He also has far less of a temper and isn't a diva.

If we re sign Carroll for the money being mentioned il stick a hot poker in my eyes the lad is trouble spends more time boozing than training. we bought Cisse for 10 mil, cabaye for 4.5 tiote round the same, now why would we pay 17 mil for a flop that doesnt suit our style of play, maybe if we got him for 7-8 mil cause that is all he is worth Liverpool are deluded thinking 20 mil. I wonder how much they think Jordan Henderson is worth? id love to hear from them would give me a right laugh
Keep him i bet Stoke will be next team in a year or 2

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Go on there page. It is a good laugh what they think their players are worth.

Agree1 Disagree0

In all fairness to the lad, he's proper knuckled down at anfield, quit drinking and going clubbing and looks a lot fitter than he did back here. Still wouldnt take him back though. GeordieChris

Heard a lot about Carroll being valued at 20mil, and a lot of people saying he's not worth it. Just remember that we sold him for almost double that, so it's no surprise that Liverpool are doing as we did.
I think the only problem that Liverpool have is letting Rogers admit he'd let him leave, which has weakened their hand considerably with regards to getting as much money as they can for him.

GeordieChris

Believable3 Unbelievable0

He was a sold for a price he was never worth. Just because this is the case Liverpool are kidding themselves if they think they will get anywhere near that back. They will be lucky to get £15 million for him.

Agree3 Disagree1

Thats up to Liverpool if they want to put a unreasonable price on Carroll, It just means he will not sell.

If you buy a expensive car and it turns out the car has problems and everyone in your neighbourhood has seen that cars problems when you have been driving it around the local area do you put the car up for sale in the window of the local shop looking top price for it?

Liverpool seem to think whoever buys Carroll should pay Liverpool over the top to help pay for their loss. They will be waiting a long long time.
