anyone else notice in that recent interview pardews comments implied we are in for 2 forwards with 2 back up choices and were looking at LB's too expect roughly £20mil spend but a lot of that will be recouped by Routledge and Enrique departures

the fact is what enrique has done is hopefully going to benefit the club in the long term someone was going to come out and quesion the ambition of the club especially with ashley at the helm and the fact is with paul dummett now being called stateside from the holland tour and he is a left back it isnt looking good for enrique but the fact is im pretty sure everything that enrique has said is true and why would he lie? hes stayed faithfull a lot longer than he could off and the fact is we are not going to challenge in the top half untill ashley either starts to seriously invest into the club or gets out of the club.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

You can see whats going on behind the scenes its so frustrating but yet we here from so called nufc fans that ashleys doing a good job. going enrique, poss going barton, gone nolan.3 quality players over 100 appearances last year between them and the heartbeat of our team can you see us getting that many apps from ba, marveau and ben arfa.

Agree0 Disagree0

Its possible but again that what squads are for All these players have asked for big contracts and if the club has a set structure then it shouldnt be broken for some player who thinks he can make demands and have them met or he will throw his dummy I agree with the financial restraints as it makes sense to not have the club in debt and in danger of admin or going bust all the time Someone has to make a stand for the clubs at some point and take away all this player power Marc bosman has a lot to answer for

well 3 weeks to big kick off, more worryingly 5 weeks till transfer window closes. still no number 9 .still no left back. Ba apart no signings except for midfielders, which funnily enough was our stongest position last season.ben arfa is already lookin injury prone played 4 games last year, marveau + ba also bad injury records in past, just sold nolan who aint the most gifted player ive seen but our record when he was missing last year was abyssmal, lucky he wasnt injured to long, 12 goals and great captain he will be misssed.
our form tailed off after carrol was sold, only 3 league wins.no new no.9 so far.
enrique and jonas gave us good balance down left, partnership looks set to be broken up as enrique looks like leaving with no other recognised left back at club.
players like perch/raylor not good enough even as back up.smith/xisco still there sitting on there huge contracts, our other 4 strikers are back up at best and could do with losing 2/3.on top of this team spirit must be low with the lack of contracts for barton/enrique and our constant failure in the transfer window.
yes weve added skill/pace to our midfield but on the whole i think we are weaker than last season.the next 5 weeks are HUGE 5/6 players must be brought in asap remember in 4 weeks we play the mackems and we aint got a NO.9.

Enrique slams 'lying' Newcastle board's ambition

Newcastle United defender Jose Enrique looks increasingly unlikely to stay at the club beyond the end of the summer transfer window, after he accused the board of 'lieing all the time' and forcing out some of the squad's best players.

Enrique, who has been strongly linked with both Liverpool and Arsenal in the past, is angry at the recent departures of players like Kevin Nolan and Andy Carroll - believing they show a clear lack of ambition on the part of owner Mike Ashley and his advisors.

"The club is allowing all the major players of the team to go, " Enrique said on Twitter. "Seriously, do you think it is the fault of the players? Andy [Carroll], Nobby [Kevin Nolan] etc etc.

"This club will never again fight to be among the top six again with this policy.''

The former Villarreal full-back has long been unsettled, with his contract set to expire next summer. Manager Alan Pardew stated in May that the club would make the Spaniard a "fantastic" offer in order to keep him at the club, but Enrique claims he has only been offered the same terms as those he is currently on.

"They give [offer] the money I have already. They lie all the time, " he added. "But is not for money, it is because they don't want to spend on the club and bring quality players - that's why everybody goes.''

While his comments are unlikely to find favour with his employers, the 25-year-old tried to prevent any fan backlash by paying tribute to the support he receives at St James' Park.

"I think you fans are the best and you deserve the best, not what they are doing with the club, " he said. "Thanks to everyone for supporting me.''

Earlier on Sunday, midfielder Joey Barton also took to the social networking site to reveal that he does not expect to sign a new contract with the Magpies when his current deal expires in the summer of 2012.

No rumours sorry, just my opinion.

I must admit that when the transfer window opened and Newcastle started to deal early I was getting excited but all of a sudden it has come to a halt.

I'm still not happy about the amount of money that has been spent and basically boils my pi## Are the club saying that they had no money set aside for transfers and future wages apart from the 35 million?? Yes the club is financially more stable but come on, I mean only spending er nothing on transfers so far, and then say that Charlie Zog is too much. Yes he's out of contract next summer but we need players like him. The ones we have signed have never played in the premier league and could take months to adapt.

As for Barton I really do hope he gets a contact, he's keeping his head down and getting on with it like a pro. Unlike Jose... Yes he's a great player and would love him to stay but he's got no intention of staying and after his twitter remarks tonight then just leave now and get the bad apple out of the cart and get on with it. I agree with his remarks about the club but at the end of the day, the fat cockney calls the shots and there ain't nothing anyone can do because of how stubborn the fat t**t is

Just want to say people posting 2-1 3-1 player deals they just don't happen. Or are at least v rare. Come on let's get some rumors that a two year old might belive. Sow erdinc long possibles all cheap basically all gone quiet on bentner and berbatov fronts. Any news on them two ED?

{Ed042's Note - Latest on Bendtner is Benfica, Dortmund, Hamburg are the three favorites to sign with Everton trying for a loan deal, no mention of Newcastle as of late, think Enrique going to Arsenal would be the only chance of that one, potential swap deal.. As for Berbatov, theres a list of clubs as long as your arm that have been linked if he was to become available, realistically this one wont happen, wages, age and potential sell on value, never mind the competition we would face to get him}

I remember a few Newcastle fans on here saying Luis Suarez is rubbish, average. Well I hope your watching or have been watching him for Uruguay as the man is class. Better than any striker you have your club including Shearer who was a goal hanging poacher, no skill at all........Thanks MarkoLFC85

{Ed042's Note - Oooh bad comparison lad ha, could have picked any other player, id imagine a lot of stick is about to come your way}

Believable0 Unbelievable2

Haha what a load of rubbish just look at the goals scored u and liverpool r a absolute joke just look at henderson my gran could play better football than he can and as for suarez he is a decent player but nothing special and doesnt even compare to shearer

Agree0 Disagree0

What are you on mate, suarez is a good player, but shearer was a legend. And as for just being a goal poacher, you obviosly never saw him play, the man had a canon of a shot from outside the box.

Agree0 Disagree0

You just want someone to reply to ur posts, , your either 8 yrs old or a deluded liverpool or both. You havent and never will have a striker as good as shearer FACT And pease dont start listing yours cos it just aint worth it.Caroll not fit to be mentioned in the same language, as for suarez......leave the crack alone lad... Only one god and hes a geordie XX

Isle of Wight toon

Agree3 Disagree0

That's a lie now Ian Rush scored more goals than Shearer FACT won more trophies than Shearers 1 trophy FACT

The FACT is you will never get a player near as good as Shearer again nevermind WORLD CLASS Luis Suarez.....the man who tore the backend out of yours and most defences last seasons. Henderson I will hold my opinion on but if Chelsea and Man Utd were interested then I think he must be decent.....

Am 25 not 8 years old. I speak constructive opinions based on FACTS

MarkoLFC85

Agree1 Disagree1

Never mind the delusions and slagging matches, and to mention Luis Suarez in the same breath as Rush or Shearer is frankly ridiculous to be honest so wont entertain that either.. but if we are going to have a constructive argument based on facts mate, being the Liverpool supporter you claim to be with the facts at your disposal, tell me, how many goals did Ian Rush score in his career?

Agree0 Disagree0

Marko lad seriously get a grip of yasel son. simple as no one wil ever be better than shearer. now if some one scores more premier league goals than him i wil say they wer a better goal scorer. but u feel free to come back n say ur s**t remarks again when suarez is (1) a better target man. (2) a better hold up player. (3) a better goalscorer. but until that day mate u look through ur kenny dalglish tinted glasses n pretend to ur mates down the bar thats yous wil win a trophy this season.

shearers records will take some beating
good luk not expecting to here from you again

Agree0 Disagree0

Liverpool fans created the word deluded.
del age 43 seens we back at school

Agree0 Disagree0

Marko seems to have disappeared, so just to tell the toons what half of them probably already knew, Ian Rush did not score more goals than Alan Shearer in his career...

Ian Rush scored 391.... Alan Shearer.... 422

And ridiculous to even entertain the Suarez comment but just for good measure, Luis Suarez has so far got a ratio of exactly a goal every 3 games in England... Rush and Shearer were both under the goal every 2 game ratio for their whole career...

Shearer averaged 24 club goals per season in his career, averaged.. that includes playing for Southampton, and being the main striker at the only club outside Man Utd, Arsenal and Chelsea to ever win the Premier League, as well as becoming a genuine legend for Newcastle, and probably getting us closer to winning the league than Liverpool have come in the last twenty plus years

Will I go on?.. Think ive made my point..

Marko lad, respect the effort and the passion but I think its time to go back to annoying the United fans, tell them again how youre going to take their title on them this season

Agree1 Disagree0

I live and drink in Merseyside and I have to listen to this sort of rubbish all the time. Out of all the supporters I've ever met, Liverpool fans have got to be the most deluded.

we have only 8 defenders for 4 places in team 3 rb 4 ch + 1 lb who will be sold.out of the right backs perch+ r taylor are crap, s taylor+ kadar are injury prone, we were very lucky last season with injuries in this department.
my solution is sell raylor+perch , buy 1 rb as cover, buy 1 ch as cover and left back defo need 2 as enrique will go.

I have every faith that the club will still make signing before the seaon starts We have to have that faith really Think about it, if we dont make signings and struggle and end up relegated then the club loses value and ashley loses money He been there before and as an astute business man he will have learned his lesson and should make sure it doesnt get repeated
But.....by not paying over the odds for players he is safeguarding the club financially and by buying or getting free half decent players who can cut it and play a bit and also carry profits in them he is still thinking financially for the club and yes himself too but i agree that after the way the club has been in so much debt until MA took over we now have to be carefull not to let that happen again and this is what MA is trying to do so have faith and let the people who actually know waht they are supposed to be doing do it

Hmmm just sat here trying to remind myself why I thought it was a good idea we sold Carroll. Ohh 35m, at the time thought great bit of business sell one striker and should get two better strikers.

Hmmm 6 months on and if a turkish striker doesn't want to play for us it seems our next best option might be Shane Long or god forbid Carlton Cole.

Beginning to regret selling Carroll because I thought the money would move us forward. In the striker front we have gone backwards a long way. Liverpool sell Torres and use all the money to buy two strikers.

Shame really cause I'm very excited about our midfield. Youth, pace and creativity.

Need to get Barton signed up he is obviously happy with us, unlike Enrique who we seem happy to offer what Pardope claims is one of the best contracts newcastle have ever offere. How come we can do this for a player who clearly doesn't want to play for us but can't for a player that does.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Jose is young and joey wants a 3+ yr contract at 28 and ashley simply wants sell on value.Simples. (WelshToon)

Agree1 Disagree0

Carrol did not want to leave.he should have had a new contract when he got his 1st cap.35m lots of money but homegrown talent should not be sold.the worst thing was we sold him to a team who were strugglin in the league with little chance of qualifing for europe, but to those who call him judas man up look at the facts its the fatman to blame.

I think all these names being bandied about on who we are looking at, who we will bid for etc etc hides one deal that i think 90% of us fans want. Give Joey Barton a deal. He WANTS to play for us, He is a leader and he is exactly what we need to look after our french softies when the going gets tough. Bolton have agreed a 5m fee for jeffran from Barca, surely Fat Lad Ashley will splash that for a Barca squad player? If Puppet Pardew had any balls he would be fighting for a Decent striker AND a contract for Barton.

Believable6 Unbelievable0

Maybe because he a squad player not first teamer and would still want massive wages like a lot of foreign mercenarys He looks canny but no saying he will cut it week in week out Dont want another xisco or marcellino on our hands

Anyone else think Newcastle should try and do a swap deal with Enrique going to Barca which means he does not go to a rival and Affelay coming in to play right wing, I would prefer Barton to stay but if Barton and Routledge are going Affelay makes perfect sense. This would be great business.

{Ed042's Note - Affelay was one of the youngsters getting more first team football, albeit as a sub, than most others last season at Barca, cant see them wanting to move him on}

The £6.5m reported is about a million euros less than the fee that was apparently accepted earlier in the month, is this because we are now going to pay the 1m(ish) euro bonus due if he stays past the transfer window?

ToonBarmy

What are your thoughts on this Ed?

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed042s Note - No Confirmation from PSG, Newcastle, Pardew, Agent or even back up of the story by the french media, which is much more reliable than the English press... suggests it is paper talk and nothing more

Hypothetically, if there is some truth to it and they have accepted an offer, I cant see Ashley paying a bonus payment not promised by us, and he is right not to, and then Erdinc, although he himself has already said he wants to stay at PSG and fight for his place, is rumoured to want 60K per week, which he will not be offered by us

Could go on and on, tired of this one to be honest, so many contradicting stories attached to it, most of which is pure speculation, think at this stage its one of the following scenarios...

A deal which will finally be completed come the first week of August

A waste of time and effort which may have cost us another target if we dont get Erdinc

A diversion tactic by Newcastle to secure another target as we have lost out on our two main targets in Gameiro and Gervinho due to it getting into the public domain

Speculation to add to the mountain of it already I know but until someone at either club, Erdinc or his agent confirm anything fact is nobody has a clue where this one stands}

Another performance where we couldn't score against a USA div 2 team. Manu ure score 14 goals in 3 games we score nil in 2 games in america so it's obvious if you but strikers you can score.

It's time for Pardope to show some balls and either insist Ashley spends some money or resigns. Buy either Sow (12m), Erdinc (7.5m) or Defoe (10m). Buy Menez and Jeffren (13m for the two) and year long loan with option to buy on Sturridge. Spending a max 25m and do it this week so players have time to gel before Arsenal on opening day. I can see Gervinho riping us apart.

Sell Enrique (9m ish) ASAP and replace with an experienced left back i.e Warnock (2m/3m) and another centre half (Dunne or similar 2/3m) and fullback the lad Clynne from Palace (3m).

Then worry about off loading some deadwood when we know we have a strong enough squad.

Otherwise were in trouble this season because scoring goals and winning games avoids relagation.

Believable5 Unbelievable1

US division 3 side.

Agree2 Disagree0

Enrique has a year left on his contract so we'd be lucky to get £6 million for him. Why would Sow leave a team getting CL for a mid table team. Sturridge is supposedly a cocky t**t and we don't want another one of those. Also, can youreally see Ashley splashing out £25 million in transfer fees and thats not including joining bonuses or wages. How I wish we had an owner who was willing to spend a little dollar. I don't see us signing more than 1 player this transfer window

Agree0 Disagree0

Cant see the point in going to USA playing in strange weather conditions with the likes of Smith Best Taylor (R) all in all we had 7 or 8 playing who wont get in our startying line up at begining of season

Agree2 Disagree0

Same there making about 6-8 flights so that isn't doing them any favours. The question is who will get injured in the next match?

Agree0 Disagree0

Personally i like enrique but if he wants to go and i think he does sell him for what ever we can get which i think would be 6 to 7 million and we would save probably 2.5 million in wages...edd what do you think do you agree

{Ed042's Note - Agree, Jose was one of our best performers but he wants to go, longer you hang onto him the less he will be worth.. has also been said that part of our budget has been allocated to Enriques new deal, so in theory if he does go that should give us all of his sell on fee to pay for a player or two, with the wage budget there to secure personal terms also}

Agree0 Disagree0

Edd think you should remortgage every think you have buy the club sounds like you know what we need lol

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont see us signing one player this window? Weve already signed 4 and if you read the papers we are bidding for others What more can be done? If the player doesnt want to come or they want more than the club will pay then its right for the person buying the player to move on to the next target Have faith
