Just remember, if Ba leaves in january, he's not moving on from US, we're moving on from HIM. You never know, ba leaving could be a blessing in disguise. So then Cisse can start banging in the goals all season as he'll be able to play CF in the 433.
By the end of jan i'd like to see something like this:
Krul
Debuchy (maybe or we could get santos for LB and switch santon to RB)
Kouyate (i've seen douglas and he's no better than willo)
Coloccini
Santon/Santos (santos wants to leave)
Cabaye
Tiote
Sissoko
Ben Arfa
Cisse/Remy
Ince/Remy
Budget: 15m
Ins: Debuchy 5m/Santos 2m, Kouyate 4m, Sissoko 3m, Remy 8m, Ince 4m MAX spent: 24m LEAST spent: 21m
Outs: Jonas (past his peak, waste of space) 2m, Simpson 500k, Gosling (No potential, slow, poor on the ball) 3m, Ba 4m, marveaux or obertan
INCOME: 9.5m
Budget 15 + 9.5 = 24.5m should be enough to get in some new players so we can climb back up the table, would be happy with 8th or 7th by the end of the season. As long as we can get in at least 3 we can certainly challenge top 8 if its anything less than three then its probs a mid table season. I have faith in the board to spend their money and i have faith in pardew to get us playing like last season.

Would like to see Newcastle get Huddlestone on loan.
Reasons being.. January is a market that has inflated prices, if we sign sissoko he wont come till end of season (contract end) and when we have cabaye, tiote, anita, then players like bigi, gosling, perch who can cover in there i think spending money on a cm in january would be a waste when other areas need strenghted.
Plus i would still sign a Left Back, and switch Santon across .. if Mourhino says you have the potential to be the best RB in the world, you must be half decent.
Just a thought. Huddlestone would fill a gap till end of season, Sign a Left Back, Sign a left sided midfielder player.

We already have Tiote, Anita, Bigirimana, Perch and Ryalor when he gets back, all of these players can play defensive midfield and to my mind our problem is having too many defensive midfielders and not enough attacking.
We should be integrating Vuckic into the first team when he gets back to fitness, he is an excellent player and it is no mystery why Chelsea and Man Utd wanted him.
Huddlestone is just more of what we already have too much off.

When did he say this about santon?

If you read this .. i said huddlestone on loan. He would fill a gap untill the end of the season. Bigi is no where near ready for regular prem football, cabaye is injured, rtaylor injured, vuckic injured, tiote picks up too many suspensions and gosling injured, if you have ever played football you will no coming back from an injury to play competitively for 90 mins is near on impossible so Huddlestone would fill a gap untill the END of the season.
and he was quoted when he first brought him into the Inter starting 11.

What makes you think someone could read your paragraph and not notice the loan part...
Anyways, like the poster said, we already have too many defensive midfielders.
Tiote, Anita and Perch are all fit and Bigi is more than a capable understudy. (That's 3 by my count and the understudy was championship young player of the year last season, that makes him ready for the step up if you ask me)
One defensive midfielder in the starting line up is more than enough.
Are you seriously thinking about more defensive midfield cover when that is our most covered position on the pitch?

Everton are making a loan move for Scott Sinclair according to reports, now that is what we need. Not another lummox to chase shadows in midfield.

This will seem a bit cowardish but we learnt lessons from the 2-1 defeat to man u. Id be satisfied with this, we can't afford to get caught with too many men forward.
4-1-4-1
-----------------------------krul----------------------
Simpson--Williamson--Coloccini---Santon
-------------------------Perch------------------------
Obertan--Bigiramana----Anita---Marveaux
-------------------------Ba------------------------------
Bring Shola and cisse on and switch to 4231 near the end if its level, to try and nick it. So we're gonna try and catch THEM on the counter.

Pardew is struggling to find a good combination to get the best from the players. The problem is he wants to play Jonas in the team,If u ask me i would put Jonas in the team cos his work rate is very high but instead of putting him in wings, i'd put him as floating DM/AM just ahead of perch and Anita, Marveaux and Obertan on the wings even though they are bad at defense, they are good at counter attack. . . and only one striker . . . iToon

Gutierrez has already been tried playing inside and getting forward and it does not work.
The best place for Jonas is playing further back instead of further forward, I thought Jonas was excellent as a left back and stuck to attackers like glue, also Jonas is very premier league savvy and knows how to win free kicks. I would have Jonas left back (where he plays for Argentina) and play Santon right back.

Personally I believe Papiss Cisse gets too much stick from the fans. He and Demba are doubles in terms of position and it has been said many times that he and Ba constantly make the same runs. This means, and it does pain me to say it, that one of the Dembas has to leave in January, which will allow pardew to play one upfront with two wingers, meaning instead of having two strikers making the same runs and getting in each others way, there will be a single striker and two skillfull wingers either side of him creating chances. This would be a much suited tactic for me compared to buying remy for 10million, I would rather buy two or three decent, fairly young, exciting strikers for a couple million each to bring off the bench and cause real competition! It would also bring much more attractive football as the sole striker would just need to position himself in a place where the wingers can get the ball to him, which allows the wingers to be more expressive as well as racking up assists for the poacher forward. Based on this tactic, I would prefer Cisse to stay as his positioning and finishing (and desire-just look at his reaction to being subed vs qpr) are greater than Ba, however Ba still has decent attributed and his defence and skill cannot be faltered, but he can hold the ball for too long sometimes I feel...
Anyway, what do you fans have to say about this tactic and my ideas and who do you think should be the loan striker?

Cisse is offside way too much when he's upfront I know he wants an early pass but surely he must realise that nobody other than Cabaye will play the early pass so surely Cisse should use his brain and hold his run.
If we sell our goalscorer in January and Cisse doesn't start scoring we WILL be relegated.

I agree with you on selling one of the dembas but we do need remy as the extra striker plus he is actually trained as a winger whereas ba and cisse arent. Ince would be a good move and I also agree with you on having two skilful wingers but then qe could rotate cisse and remy and if HBA or e.g ince injured, remy could play there. I also think if we can't get debuchy, then we should make a move for Andre santos, very underated with a good strike. Douglas as replacement for Willo.

We already have too many young fringe players as it is, take a look at our starting line up from last season and now this season and you will see that ZERO exciting young cheap players are getting into the team. I do not see the point in just carrying on with a system that is not working, when we spend that extra few million on a player of quality they have came into the team and kept their position. (Bigirimana being the exception but it will be a few years before he cements his position)
Also, if you are saying that Cisse and Ba are making the same runs and one of them should be sold that means if we buy another striker we could revert back to a 2 upfront, reason being the problem of 2 similar strikers would be gone. (I know 2 upfront is a rarity these days but any club needs atleast 2 quality strikers minimum)
And for the person that says Cisse is offside too much. Cisse is a genius at springing the offside trap, the problem is that Ba(Mostly) and others are not playing him in. I have watched Ba take the ball loads of times and Cisse has been ready to demolish the offside trap, only for Ba to hold the ball too long and Cisse then had to fall back onto his heels.
Beating the offside trap is an exact science, you have the play the ball when the striker is on his toes for the spring to work, if the striker has to keep holding back his run then it will fail everytime. It is just a shame Cabaye is the only one that can supply Cisse with these balls, Cisse would flourish in a team with midfielders with better vision. I do not blame Cisse at all.
