Newcastle Banter Archive April 24 2014

There are many things that I could say is massively wrong with Newcastle but I would like to just make a comment about man management and style of play. I would like to draw a comparison to Liverpool, two years ago Newcastle finished 5th in the league, Liverpool finished 8th. Two years on, Liverpool are very likely going to win the league, we are going to be lucky to finish 10th judging on recent form.
Its my view the main reason Liverpool as progressed and we have regressed is largely down to man management and style of play. Liverpool under Rodgers and his backroom staff have supported players like Henderson, Sterling, Gerrard, Suarez and Sturrage to deal with their mind sets working with a professional therapist etc in order that they can play to their potential, its clear that Rodgers understands that modern footballers need very good man management in order that they are focused and mentally prepared for each game. Newcastle under Pardew have seen players regress, Cisse has no confidence in front of goal, Ben Arfa seems to have lost his way, Sissoko looks like he is lost and so on. Newcastle seem to have poor man management in place and it has shown in the 2nd half of the season.

Secondly, Style of play. Under Rodgers, they have changed personnel, they have changed formations but what they have not changed is the way they play! He has a clear way in which he wants his team to play and they have stuck to it which means that players at the club know exactly what they are supposed to do on the football field.

Under Pardew, we have changed personnel, we have changed formations and we have changed the way we play the game therefore, our players have no consistency and never really know what they are supposed to do or have a chance to get used to a style of play.

I say this mainly because there are some things which as fans we have little or no control over. We have NO control over the owner of the club. Mike Ashley WILL NOT JUST GO AWAY! He wants his money back. However, we can put as much pressure as we can to get Pardew out as for me, having the right manager who can man manage and has a style of play. players get better! If you still don't agree, ask yourself would you have bought Henderson two years ago? would you buy him now? I would, he is exactly what we have missed since Barton and Nolan left, he is a leader and does the donkey work to allow players like Sterling to do what they do best.

Pardew must be forced out!

Great post jimmy.

We need a manager who will completely revamp our club, in terms of players, staff, and philosophies etc.

If no ones going to boycott the stadium, then why not show banners, chants for what we want, I know there already is with pardew out, but we just need to persist with it!

I agree with Jimmy1976.

What about a mass walk out fifteen minutes before the end of the Cardiff game.

That would leave an empty stadium for the lap of dishonour

Jimmy: totally agree with your post. Just have one comment- we all want Ashley out, most of us want Pardew out as well, but 50,000 'loyal' fans still turn up, so how can the necessary pressure be generated? I've issued this same challenge to the 'loyal' fans before- what plan have they got? Only wishful thinking, it seems.

No Vic.

We can show our feelings to Ashley and to Pardew by the action I am suggesting above.

Or we can sit at home and call the fans

It's in the name, Newcastle UNITED. We need to do something about it.

Ether people are part of the solution or part of the problem. Fans of Newcastle need to be part of the solution.

SOS: couple of problems with your idea. First, Ashley and Pardew both know fine well that we want rid of them. If 50,000 turn up then walk out, so what? Gate money, catering, program sales still the same. Second, you'd never get thousands to walk out while there's still a chance of a late Cisse winner. We share the same aims, but some of us - I don't know how many - have decided to stay away and to boycott SD until things change for the better.

Vic – I come in peace.

There are more than 40,000 season ticket holders so gate money is there anyway.

Cardiff is the last home game of the season and means nothing in terms of points or anything else.

If the crowd are more concerned with seeing a late winner (Cisse is out injured by the way) than a public show of protest then neither you nor me will achieve our wish for change.

This will be an ideal opportunity to publicly and as one body state how we feel. A (Newcastle) UNITED front.

That will be all over the press putting more pressure on the Club.

Accept the whole crowd will not walk out but if there is only a handful of people left – what a humiliation.

Ashley may say “so what” but it might prompt him to get rid of Pardew or it might push Pardew to walk

I have no problem with you boycotting games and I don’t criticize you for that. But this is an opportunity to do something, a public and visible action and a statement of our displeasure

Things fans can do to get Pardew out

fans not spending any money at the ground or at Mike Ashleys stores

fans making banners and vocalising at the match against Pardew

fans can stay in the ground after the game to voice their views

fans can hold a two mins silence during the match

fans can gather at the milburn stand after the game to voice their feelings

i am sure there would be more ideas that people have, the problem is no one is really doing anything

So let's pick one and all get behind it

If someone has a solution we will all get
behind it
Does not matter if you go to the matches or not, some people can't go for numerous reasons so it does not make them any less a supporter BUT yes as long as 50000 + turn up evey week nothing will ever change

SOS: likewise in peace. This whole protest business is hellish frustrating. No matter how much we want Ashley out, he has no reason to go while NUFC makes him big profits. He has no target beyond mid-table security. He has no reason to sack Pardew until/unless this target is missed by a wide margin, so my guess is that Pardew won't go before next Xmas. If thousands refuse to renew their season tickets, that might have some effect, or if he's held up to serious public ridicule, that might do it. Otherwise, we're shafted so there's no point going to SJP for entertainment, and a couple of loan signings in the summer won't get me back.

Ps. No game since January has meant anything. Pardew had a perfect opportunity to play some youngsters, to a deliberate plan, but he blew it. Vic

Vic, I said in my post that getting Ashley out is not realistic as he won't go unless he gets his money back. But I do believe if fans unite and turn on Pardew his job will become impossible. Tbh I still don't think we will finish in the top ten, that might be the tipping point
