{Ed022's Note - Hi all, there has been a Player Profile Updated on Seydou Doumbia of CSKA Moscow. In January, Newcastle had a failed bid for the Striker, and to say he is prolific is an understatement. Be sure to check out the 'Your Profiles' section also, as there are plenty of profiles for you Newcastle fans to look through etc, or you can even post some if you so wish. www.player-profiles.co.uk - thanks all.}

pardew looking for big powerful striker forget bot carroll should go for lukaku only 19 and is pacy enuf, or sturridge is quick and knows how to score look wot he did at sjp lst season

Believable0 Unbelievable4

Lukalu is a bigger flop than obertan or bebe!

Agree3 Disagree3

How can you say that? He's not really played for Chelsea yet so calling him a flop is nonsensical.

Agree2 Disagree2

Can't be a flop if you're not given a chance.

Agree2 Disagree2

Lukaku has gone on loan to Fulham i believe. And how can you say he's a flop when we've barely seen him play at all in the Prem?

Agree2 Disagree1

He is Chelseas idea of one for the future and ' the new Drogba ' but in contrast we pay 1 or 2 million on our youngsters and they paid near 20 million. Sometimes the price tag is what people judge a players potential by and to be fair he hasn't shown anything to justify such a huge outlay. He came from the Belgian league and wasn't included in Chelseas champions league side. Nor did he feature much in the domestic league or cups which in my view would suggest once Chelsea saw him in training on a regular basis they might have realised he was far from the standard required in England.

Could come good in the future but I wouldn't want to see him at the toon

What do ppl think of Alan Smith?

Believable0 Unbelievable4

There are better pundits out there

Agree7 Disagree0

Should have built the team around him got premiership experiance

Agree3 Disagree6

No goals in 70+ appearances. Even for a midfielder thats a terrible return, but for a former striker who should know where the goal is, that's atrocious.

Agree1 Disagree1

But he was a hard tackling hard working team player wasn't he? Also was class in the Championship as captain :-)

If we sgin nobody till the end of the window then I think our team in the prem should be, GK Krul, RB Santon, RCB S.Taylor, LCB Coloccini, LB Gutierrez, RW Ben Arfa, RCM Cabaye, LCM Tiote, CF Ba, ST Cisse, Bench, Harper, Perch, Williamson, Shola, Amalfitiano, Marveaux, Gosling.
Vuckic and co should be used in the Europa League as they hav not yet got used to the pace of the EPL but their technical ability will be useful.

Believable0 Unbelievable5

We only starting with 10 players against Spurs then?

Agree8 Disagree0

Jonas is and never will be any good at LB. their is no doubting his work rate and his effort to help out the fullback but he cannot play there.

Agree6 Disagree3

Might struggle with 10 players.what about chris waddle?!

Agree2 Disagree1

Agree about jonal he is not a lb and we seem to do this every season make do and mend if we dont get a RB play perch taverier and keep Santon LB

Agree1 Disagree2

I think we are forgetting how well Perch played last season. He is starting to show why CH bought him. HE is more than capable of doing the job at RB and keep Santon at LB. Although I still think we will get Debuchy who is another level altogether.

Agree1 Disagree0

Sorry put Marveaux at LW and bring in Obertan on the bench. That should make 11!

Agree2 Disagree0

I'd keep Santon LB and give Tavernier a chance at RB, he's easily been the best of the pre-season players. Though admittedly it can be hard to judge players on pre-season performances.

Agree0 Disagree0

I reckon this should be starting 11 against spurs if no changes r made in the team;
KRUL
SIMPSON-S TAYLOR-COLOCCINI-SANTON
TIOTE
CABAYE- MARVEAUX
BEN ARFA - CISSE - BA

Agree3 Disagree0

I like that side. Even more so if we could get Debuchy in. Quality all over. Hopefully more good times ahead.
