JToon you want to leave it in Graham Carrs hands? He has provided more below average players than half decent ones. Our BIGGEST problem is scouring the foreign leagues for cheap buys and leaving the British market alone. There are players in the championship who are better than what Carr is bringing in, Rhodes, Reach, Deanet, Assombolanga, Hughes to name a few, there's even a kid at Exeter City, Matt Grimes who would cost maybe 1.5m that could show Cabella how to create, shoot and take a man on. This foreign policy is not successful, Cabaye and sometimes Janmatt, Sissoko apart, and young Perez may become a hit but Haidara, Riviere, Mbwia, Goufran, Cabella cost £27m and that could have been better spent on British talent with heart. The French Ligue 1 is as good as our 3rd tier and our french lads are proving it. My opinion maybe not everybodies

I appreciate your opinion FC, but we're talking about Pardew. This is a man who preferred Hayden Mullins over Javier Mascherano, and Marlon Harewood over Carlos Tevez (who was actually played as a winger a lot of the time)

Pardew just isn't a manager who can get the best out of most of his squad, he can't manage flair players like Ben Arfa, Marveaux, Cabella. Look at gouffran, came in from Bordeaux as a striker and a prolific goal scorer, what is he now? A left wing back who offers nothing in attack.

I agree though, I would like to see a bit more of an english core (which we are starting to see through the youth) but there are players from overseas brought in by Graham carr, that I think would be able to show their true abilities under a different manager.

Add Anita to that list

Fair comment: I'm not a great Carr fan either. Where are the strikers? CBs? Or even keepers? We know what we need, but does Carr? (obviously P45 hasn't a clue).

Yes he's had as many duff players as he's picked out gems but i always thought it was down to lack of funds that we don't have the strength in depth.

Agree0 Disagree0

GC is not to blame for any duff players
He gives Ashley the players he thinks fit the bill and Ashley decides based on the criteria facts we all know about Bit like a butcher telling a baker what bread to sell
Surprised GC has stayed so long must be on great money

We were successful before because we had pace on the wings on our counter attack but since obertan and aarons were injured only ameobi is left with as wide player with pace, Gouffran has failed in that role and Cabella has been ineffective at times.
The good thing is Perez seems to be getting the hang of it, i see him as a future aguero or suarez for us, still in his development stage.
We need to give Haidara a chance and bring Dummett into the center back position along with Colo.
Bring in two new wingers with pace, Andre Ayew from Marseille and Mohammad Salah from Chelsea are my options.
In January we need a LB cover or a new CB, two new wingers and a new striker.
To get a good player we need to pay pretty penny which i don't think Ashley would do, so i am trusting Graham Carr to find us new gems.
If Sissoko leaves in January, we are doomed because two seasons running we will be selling our engine player and try to coast to the finish line.

Ameobi has not got pace he trots at his fastest

Agree0 Disagree0

Ameobi is very lucky, 2-3 times a match he seems to get the ball stuck under his feet and gets the rub of the green when trying to dig it out (accidentally wrong footing a defender) so he bursts clear and everyone thinks he's got skill.

I thought Shola had left us for the greek second division?
