Why is everyone so keen to drop Jonas, he's being a work horse this season, surely deserves the rewards of it, i know he is one of the older squad members, but doesn't mean he deserves to be dropped to the bench.

I think he has played very well but if pardew sees us playing 4 33 in the future we need another cm like Martin who is able to pick passes and be more of a creator in the middle of the park than Jonas is.

Maybe jonas could be back-up for HBA and Ba, or if ba leaves maybe he could play left wing.

I'd love that team, but cant see it:(

Steve taylor to come back lets not forget him

Next Season we're gonna have to utilize all of our squad with the league, europe and the 2 domestic cups.
So whether players like Jonas and Steven Taylor are "starters" or not, they're still gonna have a BIG part to play.
2(of many) players who deserve to be part of the success we are currently achieving.

newcastle will not sign any players with hype. we have proved in the past that the players who we bring in and who are succesful straight away are nobodys. people like sigurson from swansea have been hyped up by his performances in the premiership, this puts there price up to around 10 million plus. look at cisse for example, we bought him for 10million, what is he worth now after 3 months in the prem 20/25milion. newcastle will un earth gems and it wont be put in the media until we are close to signing them so dont waste your time gossiping about players who we will sign. everybody we signed last year we were never linked with them until we had them in the bag. just remember that for this summer. right rant over

I wouldn't exactly say we've 'proved' it in the past, we've done it once, can't really say every unknown player we get will be class, I'd say we still need some proven players IF we are going to be competing for Europe every season, not putting down the people we've signed so far, just saying it would be even better to have a combination of the 2 like with all other big clubs!

Do you know anything about football? Cabaye, Cisse, Ba, Ben Arfa, Santon where not nobodies when we bought them. They were all big players with national caps under their belts.

Agree with the post above, Santon in particular was playing for inter milan at 21? so he's a nobody, and furthering that point Cabaye left lille with champions league football to join Newcastle.

Before you have your arrogant 'rant over' why don't you brush up first on your football knowledge?

I was so happy again at the weekend when we beat Stoke as I dislike them greatly. I was unsure where this deep and passionate hatred stemmed, but then it dawned on me that the reason why I dislike them so so much is because of their foul and rancid home colours which are also sported by our dirty neighbours. This is why I was happy when we hammered them into the ground where they belong, as they were merely Sunderland in disguise.

At the moment I think Newcastle's transfer goal is to increase the squad's depth. I think that will involve Newcastle signing 1 striker, a proven goalscorer. 2 midfielders, 1 holding and the other attacking who can also play on the wing if necessary. 1 winger who can play both sides. 2 Defenders, a centre back and one who can play on either side. Any suggestions?

Goal Keeper? Or keep Forster

I'm not sure about Forster, personally i'd like keep him, I've watched Celtic quite a lot this season and he's pulled off some great saves but I think he wants to leave for first team football.

Looking at our squad i expect us to target maybe 1 mf 2 def and 1 striker but thats it! can only register 25 players in your squad

Fair enough but remember players will be leaving as well.
