Would really like to see us bid for both Sturridge and Wellbeck they seem to have a good understanding with each other and offer pace. Both english with potentil sell on value. If we could get Shakiri as well that could be Carrolls 35million well spent. I think then just strenthening the squad with three or four more players than ones being suggested being sold and we should have a more youthful and energetic squad for nest season.

SQUAD FOR NEXT SEASON
KEEPERS
Krull, Forster or Harper
FULLBACKS
Corluka 2.5m, Simpson, Ferguson, Enrique (hopefully staying if not someone like Warnock 2m)
CENTRE HALFS
Colloccini, Taylor, Williamson, Upson FREE
MIDFIELD
Tiote, Cabaye, Ben Arfa, Gosling, Marveraux, Guiterez, Vukic, Barton, Marvin Martin 6m. Shakiri 15m, poss Vicente FREE OR Herierra 5m
STRIKERS
Sturridge 10-12m, Wellbeck 8m Demba Ba FREE, Ameobi, Lovenkrands, Airey.

Sell Perch, Gutherie, Lua Lua, Smith, Routledge, Best. 10 -12m

Hopefully keeping Coloccini, Guiterez, Barton, Tiote, Harper and Taylor and Enrique (although I think he's gone in his head) we still have the spirit of the last couple of years but with extra pace and quality from an attacking play.

Still no announcement about where Gervinho is going??

Believable2 Unbelievable2

Give me a pint of what you hav been drinking mate ! ! ! no wonder the makems take the p- - out of us ! !

Agree2 Disagree1

Lool to that midfield! a top four team would be happy with them players

Agree0 Disagree0

It is within our price range. According to my calculations we still have 35 million from Carrol, and 20 million promised before the start of the season. 55 million, should mean we can afford some of the players mentioned + wages.

Agree0 Disagree1

Is it really that unrealistic??

Sturridge down in pecking order at Cheski with new manager wanting to bring own players.
Wellbeck similar to above
Corluka spurs have at least three right backs
Upson/Vicente FREE to anyone

Admitedly Shakiri and Martin may have ambitions of a team playing in Europe.

Most achievable under normal circumstance because I think they will all move clubs, not sure if our owner and manager are the best people to sell and negotiate players to our club though

Agree1 Disagree0

U say this as if these players were available that nufc would be the only team to want them! lol dream on! don't think ash will spend mo than 10m on a single player.(WelshToon)

Agree2 Disagree0

Gotta laugh at his lot but are ye only allowed to name 25 players in ye squad at start of season (ed) i can count 32 on here and that means no place for any of the young lads aiming to break through plus wage bill will put us in administration if we went down cheers {Ed001's Note - not strictly speaking true, it is merely 25 players over the age of 21, so nothing to stop the young lads getting in.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Where are you getting 32 from?

Agree0 Disagree0

3 keepers 5 fullbacks 4 centre halfs 12 midfielders 7 centre forards mentioned on here that still makes 31 and not many underage of 21

Agree0 Disagree0

4 fullbacks and 11 midfielders as he said Jose or Warnock, Vicente or Herrera.

Agree0 Disagree0

And 6 center fowards.

Agree1 Disagree0

29 players mentioned = Warnock if enrique goes
1 x 18
3 x 19
1 x 20
3 x 21
8 out of 29 players 21 or under

3 x 23
2 x 24
6 x 25
1 x 26
1 x 27
2 x 28
3 x 29

Only Lovenkrands 31, Upson 32 and Harper 36 over 30 years old

Average age just under 25 years old.

Agree0 Disagree0

And a partridge in a pear tree

Barnetta is on duty with the swiss team. . alan pardew stated a few weeks if a deal was to be done it would take a while. .the lad is class but looks really injury prone, mind you so does this new lad, between the pair of them they might be able to manage to chip in a few games.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Wheres he on duty with the swiss team ! ?

Agree0 Disagree0

Cant be under 21s as hes 25/26 (WelshToon)

Agree0 Disagree0

Think his on cheese rolling duty with national team

why can't sunderland and newcastle fans get it into their heads no nzogbia no sturridge no anelka no players whose wages are 60k plus the heiracy of both clubs won't be paying big wages for anyone so come down off ye high horses

Believable2 Unbelievable2

Nufc will pay high wages to the right player! eg 75k wk to enrique was offered. (WelshToon)

Agree1 Disagree1

Smithy is on fecking 60k a week how ridiculous

Agree0 Disagree1

No wonder big mike wants rid of them most probably get them for £50 each on transfer deadline day to get em off wage bill

Agree0 Disagree0

Put them with bruces babes and we could have 5-1 pounds toon for ever

The Frenchman (N'zogbia), who still has 12 months left to run on his contract at the DW Stadium, came close to joining Birmingham in a £9million deal last summer.

That agreement collapsed over personal terms, with the Blues reluctant to meet the demands on the table.

Sound familiar?

Believable4 Unbelievable0

Personally not bothered if N'zogbia signs or not he's a good player but not as good as he thinks he is. Would prefer to spend arpond 12million and 60k wages on a decent stiker. He only has a year left on his contract if we could get him now for about 7 or 8 m and upto 50k a week then he would be a good buy. We have plenty of options in midfield who hopefully can now provide pace and creativity.

22 Jun 2011 17:15:26
All of you people who come on hear and state what you would like to happen and call it "inside info" have no idea.

People go on about Barton been given the armband next year.
But sorry if we Have Tiote, Matuidi, Cabaye, Barnetta, Marveaux and Ben-arfa all Much better than barton, He won't even get a start.

I say cash in on him now, more trouble than he's worth.

In all honesty, I can't see us spending big this window. N Zog has proven that! Not a world beater but that calibre of player demands £60k a week. So any player as good or better will be £60k a week plus. Young untried foreigners on the cheap. £10m Erding- saying we are priced out. Gameiro and Gervinho - never going to get. I know its early and hope to be proved wrong. No real big names to come in. I did start of excited by the transfer window but just can't see any big named strikers coming in. Big risk what we are doing.

Krul

Hopefully new RB
Colo (if stays) Upson if not. (another free!)
S Taylor
Enrique (if stays) Taylor if not (another cheap)

Jonas
Cabaya
Tiote
Marveux (for few games til gets crocked)

Ben Arfa

Ba (hopefully new striker instead)

Believable2 Unbelievable1

You're going over top about Marveaux in the last 5 seasons he has made over 30+ appearances in 3 of them and has had 2 bad injuries which required surgery.

Agree2 Disagree0

If Jose Enrique does stay (unlikely but fingers crossed) I think Jonas will stay on the left side as their partnership down the wing last season at times were phenomanal sometimes unbeatable.

Agree1 Disagree0

I agree another striker like mario gomez or berbatov. If barton stays he'll be captain. Plus jonas won' t be there next year probobly.

Agree1 Disagree1

N'Zogbia wanted £75k a week. Our wage cap is set at between £60k-£70k depending on the player.

If you go onto wikipedia it appears that tranquillo barnetta's current club in Newcastle United playing number 7.

Believable2 Unbelievable2

Wikapedia not a reliable source! you can't use it as a reference in any studies as its often wrong and can be edited by anyone. . including you!

Agree2 Disagree0

ANYONE can edit wiki!

Agree2 Disagree0

Anyone can change a wiki page. This has been said already.

Agree2 Disagree0

It says his current club is west ham anyway

I just looked it up there and it says he plays there now. Probobly a mistake but i hope its not!

Believable4 Unbelievable2

Doubt we will get sturridge but zog will end up at liverpool or spurs with a possibility of arsenal.

The best and most solid rumour of the entire summer has emerged - it is so good that I take it as fact already.

According to The Chronicle, the three players we have signed have bought houses in the area!

Quite possibly the worst journalism I have ever read.
Geordiesteve

Believable3 Unbelievable0

What were the betting odds on that?

Agree0 Disagree0

More than Owen ever did.

Newcastle are paying Marveaux £60k pw and that's how much N'zogbia is asking for so Newcastle can pay his wages.

Believable0 Unbelievable3

Cos overall marveaux cost nothing so his oulay is less than paying 12 million for zog so he gets that wage and zogs wages reduced by his transfer costs

Agree2 Disagree0

Zog could join next season for nothing and get £60k and we could sell Jonas to a Serie A team because he'd like to play there.

Agree0 Disagree3

Not a rumour just a thought. If we sell Best and Ranger that leaves us with Lovenkrands/Shola and Ba.
Ba will be off to the African Cup Of Nations in the New Year but there is also a good chance Shola will too with Nigeria which will leave us only 1 senior striker at present providing he is not injured. We all knwo the club is after another striker so we better hope he is not African and hope who ever it is is not injured.

Comments please.

Believable5 Unbelievable1

Lovenkands been heavily linked with a number of scottish teams so even less strikers. . -DP

Agree4 Disagree0

Lovenkrands staying to the end of contract and the retiring! he said this would be his last move and that he should have come years ago!

i hope all this talk of jonas leaving is just rumour i admit he can be very frustrating to watch but on his day no team or player can handle him and we need to remember other than the starting 11 it would be nice for the first time in years to look at the bench and see some quality there aswell we never have any subs who i felt could change a game last season

Believable5 Unbelievable0

Big spending Malaga or PSG

a good friend told me last night that nufc have bids on the table for 2 english fowards on loan with option to buy. . . . same guy told about nolan to whu. . . i don't like to build your hopes up so i have given it a lot thougt before putting it on here as i am not sure of this myself. . . . STURRIDGE and WELLBECK. . . young strong fast gifted wow. . . please look at this with an open mind as it could happen. . . . OLD PRO

Believable4 Unbelievable3

Would be amazing if it happened, but i would imagine it unlikely to get both.

Col

Agree3 Disagree1

Have spoken to a lot more people in the game in the nortn west and london and this cold be . . . no one knows if its for one or both but nufc have spoken to both clubs and have not been turned down don't know if its buy or loan . . . .OLD PRO

Agree0 Disagree1

I also heard the rumour about wellbeck a couple of days ago. all the talk has been of sturridge but its was apparently wellbeck that pardew was waiting for to come back from u 212's

Agree1 Disagree0

Wellbeck would not come to you, Ferguson has said he will be given a chance this season, but if man utd buy another striker he will come to sunderland on another season long loan or maybe Everton, depends on which strikers sunderland buy

Agree1 Disagree1

Bet you there wasn't alot of movement at that tournement ;)

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol u21's was meant but humour appreciated. wellbeck would go to the highest bidder whether that be nufc, safc, or everton or whoever. he was a loan player so doesn't have any allegiance to you. we have as much chance as you or anyone else

Agree0 Disagree1

I have been told SAF will allow him to come to nufc if terms can be reached wellbeck and sturridge are big mates and i understand he lived in newcastle whemn he played for sunderland OLD PRO

Agree0 Disagree1

Sunderland football club own a few flats overlooking river wear this is where most of there loan signings stayed including wellbeck as for a move he has to speak to saf when he returns to man utd to see how he stands with chances of starting and bruce has already spoken to saf about the posibility of getting him on loan or buying him

Agree2 Disagree0

Wellbeck will not come to newcastle because he speaks english not french.

Longtime Newcastle fan, and seriously am not one bit excited for this season to start, , I believe there will be further departures such as Jonas Gutierrez and Jose Enrique, , yes Yohan Cabaye maybe a good player but can he do it in the Premier League, Demba Ba, very average in my opinion, and Sylvian Marveaux, I've never heard in my life. Taking players mentioned above along side with Kevin Nolan is going hurt next year, these are players who have just as much passion for the club as the players. Reason they are leaving is because they are sick of the owners and are basically being forces out, I seriously believe every players who has come in will be part of a profit plan, Mike Ashley does not care, I think Newcastle would benefit more if he sold the club even without spending another penny of that £35million. The sickening thing is that a bit of life was brought in newcastle as they have been convinced he will use all of that 35million, he won't, not without selling another 15-25million worth of players, MIKE ASHLEY GET OUT OF OUR CLUB! !

Believable5 Unbelievable3

It will be the biggest celebration Newcastle has ever seen the day he sells the club.

Agree2 Disagree3

I too am a lifetime newcastle fan. and agree with some of the things that you have mentioned. i do agree that mike ashley is trying to save money and does not really care about the club. however i think selling nolan was a good deal 4.5 mil for him is not bad at all, yes he did have an amazing season. but i doubt very much he will have a season like that again. one again if barton goes i don't think that's a bad thing ether, they are both very average players who had a good season, i believe that pards is trying to change the style of football we play and i welcome the new signings and think they will do good things playing with the likes of ben arfa arguably our best player. i think pards wants to create a team that has the same sort of playin style as arfa and barton and nolan don't fit this style, regarding jonas and enrique i hope they don't go but does seem very likely. i think that we should all be optimistic as we have signed 3 players and none of them r that bad and im welcoming a new style of football to newcastle! somewhat like the entertainers in king kevs glory days!

Agree6 Disagree1

Those days have gone and won't ever be repeated but we all live in hope and dream!
