with the 25 man squad rule which was introduced last year, we currently have 24 players who qualify to be included

HARPER, KRUL, FORSTER
COLOCCINI, R.TAYLOR, S.TAYLOR, ENRIQUE, SIMPSON
WILLIAMSON, BARTON, CABAYE, TIOTE, SHOLA AMEOBI
BA, MARVEAUX, GUTHRIE, BEN ARFA, SMITH, PERCH
GUTIERREZ, BEST, ROUTLEDGE, XISCO, LOVENKRANDS

SO WE HAVE 1 PLACE AVAILABLE TO FILL.(OBVIOUSLY IF ENRIQUE , ROUTLEDGE AND SMITH LEAVE THAT WOULD FREE UP OTHER SPACES)

SO I THINK THE REASON ITS GONE QUIET ON THE TRANSFER FRONT IS BECAUSE ITS A CASE OF SHIPPING OUT PLAYERS TO MAKE SPACE FOR NEW ONES.OTHERWISE IF WE SIGN 2 OR 3 NEW PLAYERS WE COULD BE STUCK WITH A PLAYER WHO CANT PLAY FOR US IN THE LEAGUE WHOS GETTING PAID FOR DOING NOWT.

PERSONALLY I THINK WE NEED A LEFT BACK, AND A COUPLE OF STRIKERS.

AND YOU DONT HAVE TO REGISTER UNDER 21'S BUT THEY CAN STILL PLAY
PLAYERS LIKE
GOSLING
RANGER
FERGUSON
VUCKIC
ETC.
CAN ALSO BE PICKED

Getting a bit worried that our only striker interest seems to be Erdinc who I am not sure how committed he is to come to us.

I can see this dragging on to the end of the transfer window and one of three things will happen.

1) we make a last ditch bid and sign Carlton Cole ( I REALLY HOPE NOT)

2) Last minute bid for any top international striker that comes into Pardope's or Asley's mind which will be about 20m less than his true value. But can then say to the fans they tried.

3) We don't sign anyone because the right player wasn't available but we will try again in January transfer window.

Personally (though it won't happen) I think we need to buy or loan two strikers, back up for Tiote (when he's suspended), another central defender and two fullbacks (one left and one right).

The dead wood i.e Smith, Shola Ameobi, Routledge, Perch, Ryan Taylor, Best and Enrique (because he wants to go and soon his value will decrease) should be sold ASAP for any realistic figures.

what is all this crap on here about erdinc, how good is he? cant be that good as if stated on here he is going to be replaced by a player who has plyed his trade in championship for qpr if newcastle going to go for someone then ye would think that taarbat would be the one to go for

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He is not getting replaced by Taarabt. Gameiro will be in his position next season.

Agree0 Disagree0

If erdings as good as everyone says he is then why would psg let him go and sign all these other players, keep hearing other names goin to psg so he's gettin pushed down the pecking order, if he was really that good surely he'd be 1st name on the team sheet
___________________________________
they are the new man city....too much money and no idea how to spend it

Agree0 Disagree0

The fact that they were willing to pay 13.5 million for Taarabt just shows they're throwing money at players without really thinking about it.

Ameobi is wanted by Barcelona. They need someone to cut their grass

Believable4 Unbelievable0

Good enough to start for Barca tbh.

Agree0 Disagree0

Barca are that good they wud make ameobi look like messi

Agree0 Disagree0

Barca can't make miracles happen so doubt that.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

PSG player of the season last year and considering Sakho and Nene were in that team he is obviously good.

Ed- doing a great job and enjoying your banter.
A player that I thought looked good in the Prem that has not been mentioned of late, Landon Donovan. What sort of price and wage do you think he would be. Excellent for Everton.
Psycho

{Ed042's Note - Cheers mate.. Yeah I liked Landon a lot at Everton, thought he was a very good player, adapted to PL very quickly.. As far as I know he is on about 45 to 50K per week in the MLS.. was a recent rumour he may be on his way to Roma but never seemed to materialize, no fee mentioned so wouldnt be sure to be honest what they would be looking for.. but because of the wage and his age I doubt we would go for him anyway.. maybe a loan deal at best}

I've noticed that newcastle have gone quiet for a few weeks now, and people have being saying a few 'whispers' of players joining. But at the end of the day newcastle need a top name striker to even stand a chance of getting mid table or higher.

just give up on erding he isnt going to come he int that good anyway if he wanted to come he would be hear already

Believable1 Unbelievable2

Who would u turn to then sturridge? who lets be honest we have less of a chance of getting than erding

Agree3 Disagree0

Agree with that, not good enough for premier

Agree1 Disagree2

Yeh people can say that he isnt good enough for the pl but the fact is he is a lot better than the beliable alternatives that are availible.

Agree3 Disagree0

His agent was saying he would love to join Newcastle until he found out he wasn't getting a bonus he wanted and then started saying his client would like to stay at PSG.

Latest friendly result, USA Customs 3 Newcastle 0. And once again NO shots from our strikeforce. Erdinc? WHY? What has he ever done? Doesnt even score goals. Its a STRIKER who scores GOALS we want Pardew, a striker who scores GOALS Now be a man and tell the Fat Lad that you want some money or we WILL be in a relegation battle this season.

Believable1 Unbelievable5

Overall erding has scored 59 in 143 games which is a lot better than any of our current strikers maybe not ba but where are you going to find a player wither a better scoring record for under 10 mil?

Agree4 Disagree0

Then spend over £10mil... We had £35m off Carroll to spend supposedly, there is no way that has gone on agent fees, signing fees and contracts for 4 players, 3 of which were free transfers, one of which is covered by Nolans fee. That is just a bulls**t cop-out from Pardew...

The same as his "Gosling and Ben Arfa are practically new signings" crap.

They need to learn that prolific strikers don't come cheap, they cost a lot.. But they're worth their weight in gold in the end.

Agree1 Disagree0

Where has this utter rubbish come from that he doesnt score goals? As the poster above pointed out he's got a pretty good career scoring record.
People are just going off last season where he didnt have his best season due to injuries. Even then he still scored 9 goals and that was a poor season for him.
He is the type of striker we need, young, pacey, skillful, strong, decent scoring record.

Agree0 Disagree0

Im 49 17st and a beer belly and could still score in french league can i have 25k a week on a 1 year contract with no add ons and if i dont score 10 goals will give ye half ye money back cant be fairer than that steve michael brown other wise known by s.m.b

Agree1 Disagree2

It's ridiculous how underrated the French league is then again by the names that get mentioned on here it's no suprise and for the Mackems to think they know about it is a joke most SMB's don't even know how to support there own team.

Agree3 Disagree1

And most sunderland fans know when you support your team in a friendly you don't storm the pitch when you score, start fights and abuse your own players. good job lads

Agree0 Disagree2

Good knowledge mate yes our fans were stupid to invade the pitch but if you knew what went on it was the Darlo fans who started the fighting. What Newcastle player got abused? Please answer this

i genreally believe we will sign erding for 8.5 million wouldnt be my first choice of signing but is a lot better than our strikers at the moment (cant really comment on ba) hopefully if we actually bid for danny sturridge on loan the geordie faithful maybe the lure of no9 shirt and playing with well known players may see him sign permanent (very big ask and probably never goin to happen) for me midfield looks ok a new lb is needed 1 that actuallys wants to play for the club and two non african strikers as dont wanna lose them to african nations

Believable1 Unbelievable0

I doubt we give the number 9 to someone who is only here for a year.

BOLTON are hoping to finalise a £5million move for Barcelona striker Jeffren Suarez.
Venezuela-born Suarez, 23, has been told he can leave and wants to get his career back on track in the Premier League. Sun today.
Surely but surely this guy should be on our radar?
23, Can leave and wants to play in the prem?
5m? Bargain. Better than paying 7m for both Long and Erdinc
Psycho

Believable5 Unbelievable1

Completely agree i think we sgould be going for him and bojan

Agree3 Disagree1

Defo agree on Jeffren but Bojan is just about to complete a move to Roma. With Luis Enrique as the new manager I see him going there over anyone else.

Barca have also got another player available for 3-4m called Oriol Romeu. Highly rated and could be the new Cesc?

Geo

Agree0 Disagree1

Dont get me wrong jeffren would be a good addition to the team and has alot of potential however he is not a striker so i wouldnt rely on him scoring all out goals

Agree0 Disagree0

He usually plays as RF so could easily be used as a striker.

Agree0 Disagree0

Jeffren is a provider not a goal scorer.

We have providers in Cabaye, Ben Arfa, Barton, Gutierrez and Marveaux.

We need a goal scorer
