Use our rumours form to send us newcastle transfer rumours.

I've just been watching some compilations of us from last season, and I think we've all totally forgot what its like to have ben arfa in our team when we're winning and playing with confidence!! Itching for him to get back into the team, it will be a massive boost and will really pose a VERY VERY attacking threat, HBA is such a flair. I'm not sure we should rush him for southampton though so maybe leave him out of the whole squad, but defo for swansea. Hopefully southampton will be off guard because of a two week break, whereas we will be on our toes. I'm not being too cocky here but usually when a team of southampton's stature get a famous win, the dressing room get's a bit too over confident and tend to lose to a lesser opposition than man city.
Team for so'ton:
4-2-3-1
Krul
Debuchy Taylor Coloccini Santon
Cabaye Tiote
Jonas Sissoko Gouffran
Cisse
COME ON LADS! Need to try and win all of our home games!

Right i've done some research (LOL), and by my calculations, as long as we don't lose stupid matches, draw a few tough ones and win most of them we are not beyond the realms of finishing 7th, AS LONG as other results go our way and I did it unbiasedly. If we get these results and results go our way then we can finish min. 10th, hopefully these will be the results I predicted or should get:
H-Southampton-W
A-Swansea-W
H-Stoke-W
A-Wigan-W
A-Man city-L
H-Fulham-W
H-Sunderland-W
A-West Brom-D
H-Liverpool-W
A-West Ham-W
A-QPR-D
H-Arsenal-W or D
Those results should get us defo 10th, probs 9th, maybe 8th and maybe and hopefully 7th.

To get to the final or win the europa league and finish 7th, 8th or 9th would save our season. Right now I want us to concentrate on wining as many PL games as we can and trying to win the Europa league {Ed004's Note - So you are hoping for 9 wins out of 12 games? I don't support Newcastle but I would like them to stay up and firmly believe they will but I think that's a tab bit unrealistic. Swansea, Wigan, QPR are tough enough away games as they are scrapping to stay up and depending on if Arsenal are still in contention for forth that could be a very hard game. Southampton are also on a fabulous run of form and pushed both United and City close, beating the latter thankfully, and some of your home games are tricky games. Anyways good luck for the rest of the season}

You are On another planet get real Man

If we stay up it will be by 2/3 points

Last post

You're nice and positive! If we stay up? We will stay up! We've got too much quality and are really starting to play like we did last year! YOU GET REAL

Agree10 Disagree2

Rather slly post. As Ed. indicated Saints are on a good run of form at the moment, and have been extremely successful in getting points off clubs aroud them. They have had a two week break and you played last night. The new manager is also developing a fast, pressing game-you wil be lucky not to get a pasting.

Agree4 Disagree8

All of our home games are must wins. Our target is to finish as high up the table as we can, not to just try and avoid relegation. Have any of you seen us play recently? We beat chelsea in style. Tottenham only just scraped a win against us. Anything less than a win against southampton will be disapointing. You're forgetting that we're also desperate to avoid relegation. Stay positve, god some of you are terrible!

Agree8 Disagree3

What planet is that man on? We won't win all those games

Agree3 Disagree7

Being positive and being realistic us 2 different things
Let's Beat Southamptin first before you persons get in your soap boxes

No wonder we get laughed at
Win On Sunday & we can start breathing at bit easier

Agree2 Disagree8

We are the fifth worst team in the league going by the results of the first 26 games of the season. FACT.

This post is ridiculous. this person seriously thinks we will lose only one of the last 12 games. haha

A four game winning streak in there aswell

27 or 29 points from 36 available. did u think we are manchester united? This is newcastles page.

GET REAL!

We only lost one of our first 11 games last season :P its doable.

This is the team i'd like to see play against southampton:
4-2-3-1

Krul

Debuchy S. Taylor Coloccini Santon

Anita Cabaye

Jonas Sissoko Gouffran

Cisse

Tiote needs to be dropped he hasn't earned a right to get ahead of anita who was superb against metalist. Jonas is better on the right as it is easier for him to take on full backs. In a few weeks time i'd like to see Haidara at left back and santon pushed into jonas' position.
Krul
Debuchy M'Biwa Coloccini Haidara
Tiote Cabaye
Santon Sissoko Gouffran
Cisse

Hope the fans are ok from those wretched metalist fans.

I've been doing some research on anji or anzhi. I think we'll be playing them at Moscow not their own because of ground troubles or something.
Danger men:
Laccina Traore-6ft8 or something, absolute terror in the air 8 goals in 16apps
Willian-Brazilian Afro guy, quick and creative bought for 34MILLION. I think he's meant to be like the next ronaldinho.
Bosouffa-Turkish I think, good finisher and creator. More of a utility forward.
Samuel Eto'o-now we all know this bloke. Was one of the greatest strikers in the world.
But I reckon we can go all the way in this competition whoever we play. Really hope we can finally get some silverware.

Its not ground trouble. It's because the Dagestan region has violent unrest. Daily shootings, bombings and kidnappings. Not a good away day really.

More games, more injuries, more suspensions, tired players and all for what? No trophy at the end of it all - should have sent the kids, lost and focus on Premiership! Gutted!

Believable4 Unbelievable11

You're a dedicated fan aren't you? Or are you a mackem? I reckon we have a good chance in this comp. There's no reason why we can't win it. As long as we put in 100% we can win it. The support we have going into every game is incredible. I think we might well end a trophy drought this year. It would be a well deserved trophy for the club and fans.

Agree10 Disagree2

Sorry Houdini, if your that good at seeing the future you should start betting on the lottery!

This cup run that the players are on is the best thing for them at the moment, its an up, its something positive to think about when they are playing that they might WIN a cup.

Its a massive positive for them, positivity is something they are going to need to fight their way up the league.

If they didn't go through last night what would they be thinking, "Sunday will be a very hard match, I don't think we can win"?!

But now they have the last 16 to look forward too they will be thinking we just beat them, we are in Europe, we will win on Sunday.

As for the injuries, please Tiote has had a very crappy season to be honest, hasn't really deserved to be there this year. and we have plenty of cover for the lad too, Anita is a class act!

As for Cabaye, he walked off, didn't look bad, and he seemed ok. Plus the return of HBA this weekend (finger crossed) will give all the lads a reason to buzz, to have confidence in themselves again.

I know it's late in the day, but our season is finally underway. And now the lads have the confidence to do it, to stay up, and give us a good cup run, possibly even win it.

Newcastle Rule Number One: KEEP THE FAITH!

xD

Agree7 Disagree2

I don't think we'll win it - we have shown very little in the competition so far - but we still have to try, we still have to root for our team, we still have to TRY and believe (even if we fail. )

Agree2 Disagree5

WE HAVE SHOWN VERY LITTLE LAST POST??

I'm sorry, but we basically beat the chelsea of Ukraine 3-0. We completely dominated them 1st leg and controlled the game for 65 mins in the second leg. We have done incredibly well so far. Stop being negative man.

Agree5 Disagree1

This is grating on me. Last night we controlled the game (mainly because Metalist weren't that keen on playing football for most of the game) but we showed very little going forward and next to nothing in the final third. It was not a great performance. That's not to say we won't kick it up a gear against Anzhi, and I definitely think this group of players is more than capable, but Thursday night was middling at best.

Agree2 Disagree3

Also we didn't basically beat them 3-0. Basically or practically, it was 1-0 over 2 legs and that was a gifted pen.
