What's with everybody attacking obertan? Getting jeered off against west brom, certainly not good for his confidence. Did people scream best or raylor when there playing awful? Leave the lad alone, booing hold not gonna make him play any better

I agree not sure why the massive hate toward Obertan. True he hasn't exactly lit it up, but he works hard to help out defensively and runs his ass off box to box. There are other pulling far less weight, he is a Newcastle player, so if you're a fan support the players and maybe they will start to play with confidence. And if insist getting on someone surely Obertan can't be at the top of the list.

I have posted on the main page, Obertan should be replaced by HBA. Then, bring him on later on, his pace would surely do more damage in the second half? Get behind the lad, he wears the black and white with more pride than some of our previous players.... HTL

I don't think AP likes to play anything other than a 442 and definitely not a 4231. I rate AP or at least what he has done so far, but i cant help but feel he is a little championship minded (trying to grind out results/ long ball). He loves the standard 442, although no top team play it anymore and he likes the work horses over players with flair (ex... Best over Ben Arfa or perch over a bar stool). It goes without saying a win verse Bolton is an absolute must, and it would be nice to see AP adapt and not just send out the two big guys up front.

Thats what I've been thinking all season, pardews a good coach but he's not got the balls to be really experimental/ sticks to proven methods {Ed007's Note - OOH ERR Vicar....nudge nudge!}

Apparently been blocked but just to let ppl know coz i 'need to grow up' but, vuckic isn't an attacking midfielder per se, his position is cm, attacking from deep, meaning hes actually coming onto the ball from further back

Decent looking side. Cabaye looks more of s threat going forward though, so im not sure about playing him so deep. Agreed vuckic desrves another start, and ben arfa. Pray to god we dont keep the same starting 11 as swansea and west brom

4-4-1-1 no more 4-4-2 Ben Arfa is far more talented than Best. Ba and Ben Arfa look a more lethal combo. Best should be Ba's backup not his strike partner.

Very worried ahead of the bolton game. Its a perfect fixture for them, and theyll believe it to be very winnable.
Were shipping goals at the back, via Perch, and have very little going forward, due to poor wingers gutierrez and obertan.
We are solely dependant on Demba up top, without him we would be no where near the position we are in now.

Thats why Ben Arfa needs to be in the side. I know he perhaps doesn't defend as much as he should, but we need a creatively gifted player besides Ba on the field (Cabaye is creative, but with two in the middle only, he is spending too much time defending to attack). AP and the side have so far ruined Christmas, only 3 points from the Bolton game and a draw verse Liverpool will do.

Can someone explain to me why we have Williamson on the bench....when Santon was taken off surely Perch should have gone to left back and Williamson to Centre Half, its time to move Perch we have been shipping goals by the bucketload since he has been playing CB, his poor form affects Collo who is overworked

Perch works hard but his physicality lets him down ,he looks like a schoolboy. He will get pulled all over the place by Bolton , i can hardly bare to watch if he plays.

Even though it was a thrilling game last night what really annoys me is why do we have two wingers that can't cross at all. Guttierez is like a LB however Vuckic and Ba were on another level last night unfortunately so were Long, Odemwingie and Brunt for Bolton I'd play Vuckic behind Ba with Cabye back in the middle I'd like to see Ferguson playing LM but know it's never going to happen the Mackems are right our bubble has burst and hopefully this will bring some reality to some of our fans.

That's way too much, i was expecting, considering he is for sale or on a free in summer, it would be around the £2m range.
ed, have you heard if there is a price that city have in mind? {Ed001's Note - they are trying to get an auction going, but I doubt they will get any more than 3m myself.}

I think Pardew needs to stop looking to play 2 up front. Ba does great in that lone striker role and we need an attacking midfielder to sit just in front of the midfield and behind ba to play in that free role and make chnaces - ben Arfa should be playing here, or even Sammi Ameobi!
And as for Perch playing in the centre again - he can barely play in his preferred position, so why we persist in CB I dont know. I hope Williamson starts next game, or why not have Santon or Simpson in there.
Somethings not quite right with the system right now but Im sure we will get there in the next few games. I just hope the ACN doesnt affect us too much and we make 1 or 2 sound squad buys, and dont suffer too many losses from the squad in Jan.
I trust Pardew to sort it, but he does need to sit back and take a look at whats not working, rather than try and persist.
