My order in preference to which strikers we should be signing for nufc would be-1. chicharito, 2. benteke & 3. ings, I would love a chicharito/benteke or a ings/benteke striker partnership, what do we think toon army?

Chicharito is awful, he gives you nothing outside the penalty area. So unless you have players who can put the ball on his right foot in or around the penalty spot he is a waste of space.

One player we do NOT want at the club is Andy Carroll. Injury prone, one dimentional, off field problems etc etc. let's move away from this and move forward not backwards. Plenty of footballing strikers around the price mooted for Carroll like Ings, PEA, Hernandez, Lazerette, Rhodes. ALL would be a better buy than Carroll in my opinion.

Benteke would be my top choice, we need a main man, someone who can lead the line, someone who has everything, pace, power, aerial threat and a lethal shot. Benteke for me ticks all those boxes.

Townsend good as are other targets BUT compliment what we have now And sign a quality striker and defender & we can build on this team
Ignore this and we will have a possibly better season than last and that is all At the moment we are between 8th and 11th and we should expect better after some good signings Ashley get the icing on the cake and give the Fans a much needed boost

Completely agree. defense is bottom six or should I say central defense bottom six

Defence has always done bad because the midfield couldn't hold onto the ball. With the midfielders we have brought in the defence will do a lot better this year. Still want Grenier. Midfield of Cabella, collback, Grenier, de Jong and Sissoko. Awesome.

Is it just me that's worried about our defence I mean it's great signing the attacking players but our midfield and attack is starting to look like a team capable of breaking into the top six but our defence looks more bottom six we aren't even being linked with defenders which is worrying to me. We one hundred percent need a CB even more so with the club looking to get rid of Yanga-M'biwa.

I don't think our defence is bad in quality it's more down to the coaching. Our defence is relatively better than the one in 11/12, it's just that then because we had good attacking players e. g. HBA, ba, cisse and Cabaye so we spent more time in the oppositions half! And we've lost half of those players in the last few seasons so we've been lacking attacking threat therefor the defence getting overworked and overrun.

1. Andy Carroll - West Ham
2. Christian Benteke - Aston villa
3. Javier Henandez - Man U

top 3 transfer targets for the striking department, agreed with alan pardew and the board. Carroll and one of the others is ideal strike force for manager alan pardew this season. you heard it from the horses mouth.

Hopeful team for City:

Coloccini
Haidara

Tiote

Cabella (8million)
Grenier (10million)
de Jong (6million)
Gouffran

de Jong

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I know De Jong looks good but he can't play in 2 positions ;)

I think the team will look more like this:

Krul

Colo
Colback

Cabella
Sissoko
Tiote
Anita
Gouffran

If Drogba goes back to Chelsea, and they have Costa and Torres then surely Lukaku will not stay?
Bid £15m for him now and see what happens, I'd rather spend the money on him than on AC.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I'm sure all of us would rather spend that money on Lukaku rather than AC, however we don't have european football to offer, plus even if we did everton would still be the more attractive proposition as they have a top manager

Agree0 Disagree0

And they will meet his wage demands

It really would make sense for us to go for Man United rejects, although some have had a very bad year they are still all winners. Smalling would be a good buy and has bags of potential if given game time. Hernandez is a great poacher and has very few flaws as a player, given game time could be a 20 goal striker. Zaha, bags of potential, pace flair and gets the crowd on there feet. With van gaal wanting to put his own stamp on things and all of these players might not even get a space on the bench

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Spot on Danno but if we only got 1 Henandez is that one we need. He is proven in the PL, has pace, skill, is good in the air and most importantly scores goals for fun.
Question is will we pay the wages he wants and will he come when we have no European football? hopefully the chance to play regularly would be enough.

Agree0 Disagree0

Spot on danno toon, I've previously posted on here that we should most definitely be trying to sign chicharito from man utd, he is a 20+ goals a season striker given playing time which he would get playing for newcastle, little 'p' has everything a good striker needs, so we should make it our priority to sign him even if on a year's long loan deal if we haven't got the big funds that it would take to sign him permanently just now, then we could get him a good bit cheaper when his contract is closer to being up

Agree0 Disagree0

PG, a loan is not the way to go. If we had signed Remy outright instead of on loan he would be our player or be on the way out for big money. If we sign Hernandez on loan the same thing will happen again next summer.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think Zaha would be a good signing but I think patience is key with him. There were a lot of times last season where he frustrated fans as he had bad decision making and no end product but at other times would get the crowd off their feet.

As for Hernandez, again we would all love him but we don't have european football to offer, same with PEA and lacazette (he might be signing a new contract with Lyon anyway) I think the only realistic targets that we would stand a good chance of getting is Christian Benteke, Andy Carroll and Danny Ings.

Agree0 Disagree0

We only beed one and Carroll us a step backwards
