We will play anji mackachkala in the last 16. VERY VERY HARD GAME, hardest game so far and by far. Bossoufa, willian, eto'o, traore just a few of their star players. But you never know, I think we might just pull it off. We've basically beat the chelsea of Ukraine 3-0, ino there not that good a team in europe, but that's very good for us. I want us to finally have some new silverware and i'm sure everybody else does. If we win the europa league or get to the final, it will make up for this season. This season's league campaign will be a one off for pardew just because we didn't strengthen in the summer. But every other season we strengthen, pards is expected to get us top 8. COME ON THE TOON BRING A TROPHY HOME, THE CLUB DESERVES IT, THE FANS DESERVE IT!

I will agree with one thing though, the fans do deserve success the northeast as a whole does.

Really pleased with going through to the last 16. Does anyone know whether we play hannover or anji in the last 16? Please say its hannover! We played some very nice, attractive football apart from when Simpson ruins it with his panicy clearences. Haidara looks a lot more solid at left back than santon although its early days. The only downfall is that our set pieces are terrible! Not just cabayes delivery but the tactics and movement is terrible. Metalists corners with kruls near post save is a prime example of what we should be doing. Really itching for Ben arfa to get back! Sissoko is really the player we've been missing. But defo in the summer we should do a clearout of all the fringe and deadwood players. And bring in lots of youths like south Americans and dutch. Lukoki, sakho, okore, cidinho, castillo, leandro, Kelvin are some players I've done some research on nd look very promising. We should follow the footsteps of AC milan, they don't have the best funds, but they cashed in on some players and got a very youthy side and beat Barcelona.

Think that's a bit harsh to Simpson. He put in a good shift I thought - hopefully competition for the RB slot will bring the best out in him.

Looks like we're off to Moscow. I hope Hanover can pull off a shock tonight, easier game and better trip. Thought we played pretty well, need a striker badly whilst Cisse is misfiring although Shola was decent tonight.

Can't wait until simpson leaves and Raylor comes back, simpson has been awful in the first half against metalist, Haidara already looks a better full back

Marveaux needs some power, he's got the power of a 10 year old

Yanga m'biwa starting at CB, haidara making debut! really excited for them both. FFS stop playing cisse on the right, he's wasted there! And it's wasting his fitness!

M'Biwa what a game he had last night. Shakey toward the end but the same could be said about the team, Haidara also what a class act he is going to be.

Can't really fault any of the team to be honest, every played their part and played well.

and as I said the other week, leave Shola alone, he comes up with the goods when it matters most
