Fantastic performance from the lads today, ben arfa was very good when he came on, cabaye and sissoko were brilliant debuchy was good. Need to carry on playing like this against stoke and we should hopefully get the win to try and get 4th.

Onwards and upwards!

Good result Toon so we may get some peace about a new manager and speculation about the dozens of players you think we should buy enjoy who we have and where we are in the league because it may not last due to injury and suspensions

Great result today, and a good point from Art re injuries, etc. Too many posters on here blamed Pardew (the easy target) and lack of investment for last season's troubles, but injuries played a big part too. The appearance stats show how many games key players missed. If we end up in the Europas again we MUST have better depth.

Vic problem is we the fans know this as does the club but form predicts Ashley
will not spend to avoid this happening
& the present position we are in let's him think he is right as we are ahead of
his performance level
January will show if he has any ambition or just keeps taking his money
out if the safe to gloat & think of more to come

MA has made mistakes but he's not stupid. He'll be calculating whether to buy in Jan to make a push for a CL place or to hang onto his cash till the summer, but if it's Europas again I'll be very surprised if he doesn't buy quality. He won't want another relegation battle. My guess, for what it's worth, is that a CF (Gomis?) is lined up and that's it for now.

Few weeks and we will see
We were surprised Once Upon a Time in January why not again. But it all depends how greedy the Oaf is not on how good it is for the team
