Use our rumours form to send us newcastle transfer rumours.

I don't doubt nufc officials have been charging round france like headless chickens but why not have done this weeks ago?, a blind man on a horse could see we were going to loose cabaye to a bigger club and its now panic stations just like january. All the stable and organised clubs have done there work early which says it all, need a couple of fresh faces to lift the clube before west ham game or we could be in trouble. again!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Ashley can sense the unrest with the fans. We need to keep the pressure up on the regime right up until January. Even if they sign a few in the next couple of weeks. The fans need to be relentless. No more lowering our expectations and standards. This team needs 6 or 7 quality players to move forward. Let's not stop barraging them until we get them.

Agree0 Disagree0

What's this about 'pressure' and 'barraging'? How do grumbles on here actually get through to Ashley? A full house in next couple of home games and he won't give a monkey's. Vic

Pardew, kinnear & carr are in nice in france tonight supposedly tying up transfer targets & r talking to cabayes representatives to try & get best price for him he's only interested in champions lge teams i'm hoping its gomis & thauvin excuse the spelling

Yeah nice casino

Like I said last week, its not the players its our style of play which comes from Pardew. Swansea got beat against Man U, but at least they played some good stuff and gave them a game. We on the other hand we lucky it wasn't 8-0. Pardew sets his team out to be more concerned about what the other team are doing rather than what we are going to do. An example of this is playing an unfit Jonas rather than Vudic or Marv. Pardew needs to go more than Ashley right now. West Ham will come to St James with a clear plan of play and i'm sure they will beat us the way are playing at the mo

Jimmy1976

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I could not agree more.

Pardew had the summer to change things around and plot things out for this season.

Not only has he not changed things, his old style is being kept and is getting worse.

so the scouts are in nice, well that rules out gomis as they could flew into lyon airport, so clubs in the nice area are marseille and montpellier my moneys on dbl deal for gignac and n'kolou from marseille will be interesting to see

I predict we will put a bid in for Maxime Gonalons of Lyon. Pardew is at the game tonight apparently. I don't have sources or whatever, its just an educated guess.

He's not at the game, couple of pics on twitter of him JFK and Carr at Nice airport, people saying he's been to Cannes, Monaco or another place in France, depends who u believe, my geography isn't good enough to guess where they've been

Agree0 Disagree0

St, Tropez on a private yatch with Ashley actually.

Said weeks ago we would have to sell to buy. Ashley has no interest in putting any money into the club. Call me negative but any deals that may be or may not be near completion is dependent on Cabeye going and at the right price for Ashley.

two players overseas are in talks with officials, according to NUFC. com. I think possibly Vossen from genk and possibly Thauvin from lille. I still think gomis deal is dead.

Also hearing possible deal for a centre back, maybe tomkins

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Nufc officials in france to discuss cabaye move to arsenal with his agents no other reason

Agree0 Disagree0

Why send Carr and Pardew to talk to agents? If you're going to make stuff up, at least make it credible.

Well done Tiote for being a man and coming out and saying that we need to spend, if only pardew and Ashley would do that.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Ashley will have on the transfer list for that.

Bn Arfa was the only positive even Krul got his angles wrong on first goal, our play and passing in the final third was diabolical, Cisse needs to go along with Anita who was a poor buy. Taylor is championship standard at best and generally the defence is too small as is the team even Man City had at least 4 players taller than

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I thought that the most positive was young left back Dummet, he was thrown into the deep end and held his ground well and stopped the crosses comming in. he should play this weekend without doubt.

Pardew: We can't compete with Man City's billions

We don't want to compete with ManCity. We want to compete with Fulham, West Brom, Swansea and all the other clubs who have managed to add new players and improve their squads. He is an person

As a Villa fan (in peace) you do have some quality. If you lose Cabeye still it is there. You need to look for different dimensions, Sissoko, Tiote, Cisse etc have all looked top quality (at times, although I bow to your superior knowledge)

You need to change up strategy. Bent would have been a great signing for you, Will Hughes of Derby and some hungry young British talent and experienced English players would change your fortunes.

You seem to have an unhappy ship, reminds me of us under McCleish, and the gloom is horrible, you have my sympathies. four or five British players could change this.
food for thought (fees are my estimates only)

Will Hughes of Derby - 8m

Callum McManaman of Wigan - 8m

Troy Deeney of Watford - 4m?
or even Doyle of Wolves 2.5m --- he works his socks off holds up well and stretches defences.

Barry on loan from City (although I want him to come back :)
Collins from West Ham?
an experienced defender too maybe.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Wise words, but Ashley won't spend that kind of money!

Agree0 Disagree0

Im sure mcmanaman would get a very warm welcome at sid james!

several weeks ago someone on here said Cabaye was nt renewing his daughters school in September. they must have been aware for weeks that he was going to go, that's why Percy kept talking about keeping him in the press. He was nt at his best last season not a patch on the season before and he was always injured. my concern was he s leader of the French pack and we do not want them all asking for moves well his best mate Debuchy can go with him on this seasons showing so far Arse and PSG both need a right back

So, last night was a bit of a mess wasn't it?!

What I want to know is, forgetting the strikers we have 'apparently' gone for and missed out on, why haven't we gone for any of the following players?
-Steven Caulker - great potential, future England player and he has gone to Cardiff.
-Marouane Chamakh - not the best striker but I'm sure someone that given a run of games and a bit of confidence would grab us a few goals and he has gone to West Ham.
-Tom Huddlestone - another one with bags of potential, he has gone to Hull!
-Wayne Bridge - good quality left back, ok getting on a bit but would be perfect, experienced cover for Santon and would mean we wouldn't have to resort to playing Jonas or Yanga there, he has gone to Reading.
-Nathan Redmond - another player who could turn out to be a real talent, young, quick, exciting player, far better than some of the other dross we have in the squad, now at Norwich.
-Gary Hooper - arguably better than all of the strikers we have (put together?), would have been worshiped up here had he scored goals, again gone to Norwich.
-Ross Turnbull - good cover for Krul, better than Elliott, could help Alnwick with his experience, gone to Doncaster Rovers.

There's 7 players listed there, and ok, maybe not some of the names we would like to see coming in but all of them would improve our squad and give much needed cover all over the pitch. And the really frustrating thing is, they have all gone to clubs that are either newly promoted, in divisions below us, or at most at the same level as us.

I for one would feel much happier had we signed even 3 payers like this going in to this season. Instead? We have signed one player on loan, who isn't fit enough to play yet.

I'm not an Ashley basher, and the appointment of Kinnear still makes no sense (seriously, what is he actually doing?) but something needs to give. Either sell up or put up!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Why can't we unsettle one or two players and upset their clubs? Just for the sheer hell of it, why not respond to Arsenal's offer with a public suggestion that they throw Theo Walcott or jack Wilshere in as part exchange? Or offer them £10m, going up to say £18m for the two? We could even let the press believe that wages would be no problem (it's a lie, but heck). I can't see either Joke or Pardew staying in their jobs much longer unless something positive happens soon. Vic

Agree0 Disagree0

Problem with that theory is they wouldn't get unsettled. We could probably only unsettle division 1 playerS, we don't have anything to offer

Agree0 Disagree0

I would not want any of the 7 players you just listed at our club.

Have you noticed how the players we signed were brilliant when they first came to the club, but now they look like they are running around with lead feet and unable to play football.

Clear as day, the management is the problem.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Aug 2013 13:51:48
give ginola a chance as manager. why not?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Because he would have as much of a clue about managing as Pardew does.

I would stick him on the left flank at this point lol.

most over rated defender we have Debuchey what was he thinking when he let them score the 4th goal he really did have a poor game just like last season against sunderland and liverpool he was absolute rubbish

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Would rather have santon at right back and left back drumett and haidara, sell deburcy all right going forward but defending is shocking

Agree0 Disagree0

Haidara at left back with Santon at right back is a good call.

Haidara has been very impressive. What a gem buy.

Debuchy is without doubt a quality international right back, but we do not have any fluidity in the team, right now we just have to pack the team with grafters.

NUFC.com is saying that we have representatives in Europe now concluding 2 deals. Sounds like a smokescreen as ticket sales are not great for West Ham.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Who told you the ticket sales were not good?

Agree0 Disagree0

Who told me. The guy who works in the ticket office. Who else? As you have a computer and can access the internet go on nufc and you can see how many seats are on general sale. Then you can do the maths.

Apart from the fact that it was a terrible game, there were points in the game where we did play a few triangles and pass and move, there was just no end product. There was hardly any hoofball so I think there is a change. We'll have to see what happens in the next few games.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Yes JToon we know you are, as ever, blindly optimistic. You have already posted the above.

I might have been one who said 'let's give Pardew a while to put it straight, let's see what he does'.

Half-way through last season.

This isn't all MA's fault. It's Pardew's. He is making good players worse.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm not being blindly optimistic I'm just pointing out some of the positives, but most of them ended in a negative

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Aug 2013 11:48:42
People say MA uses his business model for NUFC so let's see if this is true when applied to our club.
1 If a SD store is failing he closes it and moves to another location.
Hard to move SJP but perhaps the Rangers moves are similar
2 He restocks the SD store with new merchandise.
Not possible at NUFC as the DOF cannot find any.
3 He changes the SD store manager
Not possible at NUFC as it costs more to do this than the first 2 options.
Sorry MA the standard plan doesn't work think again.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

20 Aug 2013 11:39:26
Yes we were absolutely dreadful against Man City but I don't think we should worry too much yet as even in seasons where we have been very impressive, we have still had a tendency to get trounced a few times. Like in the season we last finished 5th we got hammered 5-0 by Spurs in what was a similar display to what we gave last night. For me the next two games are very important as it will show if we have any resilience at all and if not then things don't look good.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Agree .

It's so frustrating having ashley here, because of him we haven't gone for as many players as we should have and have lost out on so many targets!
Willian - 25mil if we had a different owner we could of snatched him from Liverpool or spurs
Fred - 13mil went to shakhtar. Fantastic playmaker, perfect replacement for Cabaye at only 20 years old!
Bony - we simply refused to pay the money for him which is ridiculous
Aubameyang - ok not much you can do when a CL finalist comes in
Alderweireld - we still have a chance on him but I can't see us buying anyone else!
I could go on but so many players there that we've just played hardball with and we've paid the price.

We need a whole new board, maybe even a new manager But we need an owner who will love the club, will spend 30-50million each summer to help us push and stay in the top 6 maybe even challenge for champions league in the next 4-6 years. For example spurs have fantastic owners, although levy is quite hard to do transfer business with, he does get the job done. And the spurs fans actually chant about their owners! They spent like 50mil last summer and now they've spent about 60m this summer!

On september the 1st, if we buy one more player or no one, then us as fans of newcastle united do need to try and push for a change in the boardroom. We pay our money to go and see crap like this, to wake up every morning to hear or read that we've bought no one and see that we're linked with about 50 players, to travel up and down the country and sell out the away ends to see crap played by our beloved football team.

The highest chance of Ashley leaving is if we get relegated, which looks quite likely the way we played against city. Or to stop going to matches and start protesting outside st James' unless anyone else has got any ideas. But I don't think any of us will be able withstand another 2 years under Ashley. We need someone who is ambitious and will take us back to the top.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

20 Aug 2013 10:28:45
I've got no doubt this Dummet kid is a good player and probably going to be pretty decent, but to have to rely on a 21yr old (I think) untested kid in a match like that? What other team in the league has to rely on kids coming on? We've literally got nothing after our first 11 players and even they're suspect! And if Gutierrez wasn't 100% fit then why start him? He's not exactly a world beater when he's fully fit so why start him ahead of Anita or Marv?! We all know cabayes away so surely this morning the mission for joe and co is to get a replacement before he goes? Although I doubt that, I know we were beaten of the best squa in the league and the richest club in the world but if YC isn't adequatly replaced and we don't get out promised striker reinforcements (AT LEAST!) I fear for the season ahead, we were clueless last night, no desire, zero passion, they were beat before it kicked off. BP

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - Southampton rely on Shaw at left back. Liverpool also have to turn to kids when injuries hit. Newcastle are not alone in this, not sure it is a bad thing to have a youth team player as back up, so long as the lad is good enough. How else are they meant to gain experience and improve? I know Ashley isn't spending on the team, but it is the rest of the team that is the issue, not really left back. After all Santon is the usual first choice for that position, so Dummet is only 3rd choice.}

20 Aug 2013 09:56:08
question if cabaye goes who can ( should we go for ) in place of him. I've thought on it but can't come up with anyone. geordie tom

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Well I personally would of gone for Fred (the one who's recently gone to Shakhtar) and Willian but because our owner is not ambitious enough we've missed out on both of them.

Agree0 Disagree0

If he goes yous won't get no one because big mike is going to cash in on the half ok players get some money back then sell up haha. And yous are seriously going to have to go on strike or summit or it will be championship football next year trust me. That team last night was not a happy playing team, there's summit going on behind the doors and jk is not bothered one little bit.

Agree0 Disagree0

I wouldn't mind Gareth Barry if the market is a bit dry.

He has bags of Premier League experience, he would shine at a club like Newcastle too.

It is amazing how many central midfielders we actually already have, but we would still need to buy 2 to cover Cabaye.

Anita & Tiote are just not good enough. Bigi is not going to be ready for the top level for a few years yet.

To be honest, Tiote is rubbish. Anita is not suited to the fast pace of the Premier League.

I felt a bit down this morning so I thought I would watch a comedy to cheer me up. so I watched your match again. I feel good now.
On a serious note kebeb will go for 15-18 million and you lot want to keep your fingers crossed that Krull is not sold by fat Mike as he is a good goalie, could have been double figures if it was not for him.
Yes City is a hard place to go but your defence was shocking, your attack was the same, not a lot of positives at all.
I cannot see Pardew staying much longer, either he is sacked or will walk by the end of October, who will take over. I will keep reading to see who you lot think you want. keep it real on your choices. as a lot of you think you are top 6. bottom 6 most likley. top dogs this season SAFC. I will now have a bath in the tears of the toon my black n white friends. ttfn

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Largey I would more concerned at getting beat off Fulham than City. We weren't great no doubting that but we won't play City every week. I reserve judgement until we play the similar teams around us. Keeping hiding your already burst, false revolution.

Agree0 Disagree0

Top 6 is where Newcastle United deserve to be, its what the fans deserve to be watching week in week out. Not like a side who got hammered by city.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would be more worried if we got beat at home by Fulham and had already spent all our funds. ;)

Agree0 Disagree0

We got beat by a goal that should not have counted, Fulham goalscorer had his hands on the defenders shoulders so he could not jump. last time I checked that was a foul, apart from that Fulham only came to play for a draw wheras u lot looked poor apart from Krull who kept the score down. Only 13 more days till the end of the transfer window, how many will u get, Gomis went quiet by the way. Not worried for SAFC but u lot want to keep fingers, toes n testicles crossed

Agree0 Disagree0

You got beat end of story. Always an excuse with the mackems.

Agree0 Disagree0

Always excuses? You mean like " you can't expect us to beat city at home, nobody goes there expecting to win" sunderland managed! The real problem at the toon is you fans! you're expectations are massively overinflated, you say YOU deserve to be top 6 because you watch every week. What about every other team in the country do they not deserve it? Consider yourself fortunate you have a team, if ashley hadnt bailed you out after the 90s massive overspending you would be rangers! Speaking of ashley if he reads a millionth of what you lot have written about him over the last few years, who could blame him for running you're club into the ground?
P. s. yes I am a mackem
I have loads of black n white friends
Sick of seeing them go through this every summer.
Thanks for listening
Liono74

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes SAFC got beat, I am not disputing that, but you got whupped, very lucky to keep it down to 4. Its funny other posts from fans not of our two teams have said that they could see a big improvement in SAFC's play but, here's the bit you will say is wrong, NUFC's play was the same as last season. crap. and unless you spend cash a lot of cash you will be relegation fodder. we were both dross last season but SAFC are in process of putting that right whereas you lot are not. I rest my case

20 Aug 2013 08:19:38
Why is everyone saying 20mil for Kabab? We won't get anywhere near that maby 12mil max as with 20mil you could buy players ten times better than him he is not a world beater he's a good player maby like Arteta is at arsenal but would never be worth 20mil. The problem now is he didn't play last night as the the only reason is he wants to go. If we don't accept an offer soon he will loose intrest in the team and not want to play even if we don't sell him. Then he will put in a transfer request. I'd say accept 12mil which is probs his worth and they buy somone to replace him for 12mil but that won't happen,

Believable0 Unbelievable0

20 Aug 2013 07:45:12
How deluded is Pardew. Said after the match we looked 'sound' at half time and could still have gotten something out of the game!. Is he stupid or what?. we were lucky to be only two nil down.
Now he is blaming the transfer window asking for it to be closed before the season starts - well it has for us.

What a load.

I really hope that tonight was a blessing in disguise.
We were awful, Ashley, please spend the money, you have lots, just spend it for crying out loud. We're a football team not a business.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

20 Aug 2013 00:28:59
The way we player tonight I can't see us beating Morcombe in the cup. So I wouldn't be taking the mick out out Sunderland too much as they at least created chances and only lost by one.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

19 Aug 2013 23:05:41
Looks like Cabaye's leaving, hopefully its at least 15million. We need to replace him, Manuel Fernandes? then get in Ince, Ideye and Alderweireld which would be 23million well spent. But I just don't think ashley will pay out the money for them.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

19 Aug 2013 22:40:23
Hardly any hoofball was played.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

19 Aug 2013 23:38:16
No excuses tonight from the Mugs - that performance was shocking.
You can accept being outplayed by a better team, but to come out second best from EVERY 50/50 challenge is unforgivable. They looked leggy, unfit and worst of all uninterested - and that was before half time!
Mind you, if Altidore had missed as many chances as Dzeko did tonight, Jozy would be a donkey again. Well let me tell you folks, no way he would be pushed off the ball like Cisse was all game. As last season and the one before, Krul MOTM again.
Three more lacklustre performances like that and it's bye-bye Pards, hello Joe!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Thanks for your concern. But I would be more worried about getting beat of relegation candidates Fulham than title challengers Man City. Thanks again.

19 Aug 2013 22:52:29
Right firstly, it was a horrific performance, but there were some positives which we can take into the west ham game.

Steven Taylor let us down. At 2-0 down it was utter stupidity.
The full backs, m'biwa and debuchy were getting hammered, we were forced to play a 4-4-1-1. Gouffran was terrible.
The centre mids, sissoko and tiote, were alright on the attack, but defending wise, they were shocking. They weren't exactly busting a gut to try and defend a city attack. Most of the motivation was taken out of the players by Taylor's red card.
Here's a positive, we hardly played any hoofball, and we did some good pass and move football and some good triangles, just the final product was absolutely shocking.
Cisse looked sharp, you could tell the fitness was getting back into the players after appointing faye downey as fitness director. but cisse's ball control was rubbish.
There was a massive failure in the players vision, I was shouting at the screen so many times for them to pick out the right pass.
Ben Arfa was alright but again, he had a lack of vision to pick out the right pass.
Krul was good but was let down by the rest of the team.
When Dummett came on, he looked pretty decent!
Cabaye was a big miss though. We definitely need a new striker, left winger and a utility defender but I can't see us buying anyone.

But anyway guys, I don't think its too much to worry about, we had just about the hardest start out of every PL team. We've got City out the way, so now we can start to concentrate on the west ham game which will be difficult, but we all expect newcastle to pick up 3 points from it. But you could really tell the difference in quality between us and city. I can tell though, loads of people are going to be wanting pardew out though and there's going to be loads of excuses being thrown around as to why we've just lost to city and what's happened this window.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I don't think its too much to worry about!
What where you watching last night.
SOS

Agree0 Disagree0

Hull had just as hard a start as we did, perhaps more seeing as they're new boys.

They kept it down to 2-0. Our defence was a shambles yet again. Positioning, composure, organisation ALL terrible. Debuchy a liability, MBiwa still getting to grips with the English game (a kinder way of saying he was terrible when at full back last night) and we had zero cover from the midfield.

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont worry?
3 left already.
Cabaye away soon.
1 loanee who is injured.
Yellow cards galore.
1 red card.
Guitierez injured.
The Joker.
Pratdew.
What do you think is going to change
the situation into a positive?

Agree0 Disagree0

Because it was only one game. The first of the season. But in your logic jeez it seems Sunderland will have a worse season losing to Fulham at home eh?

Agree0 Disagree0

Ben Arfa does not lack vision, he is the only one making runs of the ball.

Ben Arfa makes great runs and nobody is getting in to space for him, what more can he do.

Tiote and Sissoko cannot play together. Tiote has to be dropped, how many games is it going to take for the manager to realise that Tiote cannot play football.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sunderland controlled the game.
Sunderland players were trying.
No excuses.
Newcastle didn't control the game.
Newcastle players didn't try.
Lots of excuses.

Well well
I'm not here to laugh or make snide comments
But you came on to our page laughing and having a go because we were unluckily defeated by a descent Fulham side where we played fantastic football and created many chances, then your team go out and don't even put an effort in against I admit a fantastic side, but in the manor your 'Superstars' performed, well no other way of saying it, disgraceful
Krul was amazing but if you don't make changes with the team, or management, you will become the next Sunderland, relying on ya keeper all the time

So, next time you have a dig, think about it

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Well, we can't really argue, he is right
If we don't improve we will just be dependent on Krul all season like they were with Mignolet

Agree0 Disagree0

Next time you make a dig you might want to get your facts right. Magnificent football? Great chances? you had 3 shots on target all game against a very poor Fulham side. We played a world class team with 10 most for most of it. Why do you lot keep trying to dress up your defeat at home to a poor team. Relying on a goalkeeper? Isn't that what kept you up last season? Your best player was a keeper. So before you come on here you might want to think about it.

Agree0 Disagree0

Fantastic football? Many chances? You plonker! You were hitting shots from the half way line you muppet. I admit you played OK, but not fantastic. And those many chances? Anyone can have 20 shots but how many did you score?

You were embarrassed to Fulham. I'd rather lose to a quality side than to a poor team like Fulham.

Fulham always sit back when they play away.

Every team looks good playing Fulham at home, and most beat them.

You will not get an easier game to have posession of the ball than Fulham. If you cannot win a game with the ball what is going to happen in the rest of the games?

Our season can only get better with easier games to come, Sunderland's can only get worse.
