we are the worst team in the league by far, pardew is sinking the club fast our French players are not performing at all and have no guts for a fight PARDEW OUT! oneil in to save our club, to make things worse the makems are playing good football.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Sunderland are showing a bit fight, can't say good football

What was pardews excuse this time?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Tired probably and injuries. He is very predictable. We were without Bardsley and Gardner.

Agree0 Disagree0

Tried hard basically

sack him sack him now

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I said sack him at the start of season he has not got a clue. now u can see how he took every other team down he has managed BUT people were saying give him a chance? why

Well, looks like you will go down again, and rightly so. No more points for you lot, the french got no belly for the fight. After all the crowing about quality all over the park, you are in one hell of a situation and Liverpool next up. But you will still believe the pearly king that you are aiming for top 8 or is it top 10 now. It is funny how when you are too cocky things change and come back to haunt you. Sunderland fan not in peace.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Fool if you think it is over your facist
Lord has it all to do We have an person owner destroying within but it will stop

Cocky, look over your shoulder. persons have fa to comment on Newcastle even if they were 2 divisions lower than the unwashed would be regarded as NE N0 1

Agree0 Disagree0

Well that made sense.

Agree0 Disagree0

We are not being cocky, we are telling the truth. Our squad is top 8, and that's what we should be aiming for every season. We are simply a good team, that is not performing, or being managed properly. 4 full French internationals, 1 full ivory coast international. 1 dutch international. Name any sunderland players that are regular players in good international teams, Johnson? Nah. I can only think of mignolet, and he's a goalkeeper.

Agree0 Disagree0

This happened last time with O'Neill, look where that got you. The only time you lot are any good is when you get a new manager, maybe Di Canio will continue to have as much of an effect as he is now, but don't talk down to us because in a year's time it could be a very different story. Again. Ride the wave whilst you can, mackems.

Agree0 Disagree0

Whose fans have been spouting elitist drivel all season untill now?
To compare PDC to Mon is a little bit silly and reeks of jealousy.
Pratdew says we can only dream of Europe. Well, I can say the same for you. With that prat in charge you will struggle badly to stay in the Prem never mind qualify for Europe again.
Long live his contract.

sunderland fan here lads well I think todays results mean there will be north east derbies next season as wigan need a miracle with home games against spurs Swansea and villa along with trips to wba and arsenal can't see them getting the points they need to catch either of us

Believable0 Unbelievable0

4 games anything can happen
All the teams in 34 pts & anyone can go down
Newcastle have one chance & one only
Beat Liverpool which they won't
S'land need keep recent form, can they who knows
3rd spot odds On NUFC as they playing worst football in the Premiership. with a clueless manager

Agree0 Disagree0

Cant see Wigan getting enough points to stay up.

i can't believe how predictable we are. we play more time being defensive then attacking, i'm sick of this 4231 formation we need to go back to 433 like last year. taking gouffran off and putting ameobi on was just stupid. jonas has played terrible all season. ben arfa sat on the bench should have bought him on at half time, he may still have a problem with his hamstring but we need the points bad. god help us!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Pardew is tactically inept when the going gets tough he's clueless sissiko is a defencive midfielder not a number 10he ain't got the skill to pay there two and half years and is the club moving forward on the pitch? No football played at st James since 2004 the days of sir bobby you can excuse getting beat if you pay football and entertain

Agree0 Disagree0

Sissoko is not a defensive midfielder, Tiote is. Sissoko is a box to box player, a poor man's Yaya Toure (and that's no insult). You're absolutely right on the fact that he shouldn't be playing behind the striker, absolutely bizarre place to put him. Cabaye would be more use there.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Apr 2013 17:01:50
I for one have always stood behind Pardew through the good and the bad, but I am getting absolutely sick of how tactically inept he is. He constantly gets outclassed and does nothing to change it until the opposing team has either equalised or taken the lead. Jonas yet again puts another dismal performance in and was at fault for the goal not following his man into the box. Why gouffran was taken off is beyond me and why bring on shola. also if you bring on hatem make sure he gets the ball why bring him on to let him only touch the ball once.
I'm so so sick of this, and i'm sure i'm not the only one I wouldn't be surprised if Ashley is starting to feel the same and if a good manager comes free in the summer I can see him making a move eg: david moyes, roberto martinez, di matteo and it hurts to say but even benitez would be an improvement

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Pardew will not be replaced he will take the team down and not be sacked. This team is the worst in the bottom half of the table alongside Reading (who beat us)
The tactics by AP are just awful and we deserve to be relegated. Not long now lads one win but can we get it NOT AT THIS RATE.

Agree0 Disagree0

Next up, Liverpool, no points, we are on our way down again. Pardew why don't you and the cockney mafia call it a day and stop torturing us.

Agree0 Disagree0

In reply to the original post, none of these managers would come here, least of all Benitez. He would not put up with a comic owner, give him a bit of credit for heavens sake. Nor Moyes for that matter, poison chalice springs to mind.

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree mate but laurent blanc would be the best and favourite option.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Apr 2013 17:01:42
so pardew, you have failed to get a reaction out of the players, congrats.

Blanc for the job, unless we dramatically improve in the last 4 games and I emphasise the "dramatically" {Ed004's Note - I think Blanc is being looked at by Man Utd going by what Ed 2 has said}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

There's no reason why we can't get him

Agree0 Disagree0

Why is Blanc so popular? The France side that he managed were embarrassingly crap. Unless there's something I'm missing, which is entirely possible, then I really don't think he'd be an improvement.

After dominating the 1st half and Cisse failing with a TOP chance to make it 2-0 we reached half time. West Brom weakened their midfield by bringing an extra striker on so what does our Tactical genius do? Leaves an ineffective Jonas on and invites them to batter us! Jonas off and HBA on would have put them on the back foot Pardew!. In the summer I hope we can say ` thanks Alan but you have took us as far as you can`. We have a squad of footballers and a hoofball manager with no plan B. let's get a Benitez/Martinez/ type in and move forward.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

We are witnessing the Death throws

Newcastle will be relegated playing like
today. Same story Cisse not putting the
chances away Shocking and it will relegate us along with QPR & Reading

Agree0 Disagree0

1 win away from home ALL season tells you that our manager cannot change tactics or play a different style. Pathetic excuses after every game do not wash. Come on Ashley, we are not far away now let's get a manager that can make us play.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree to some extent. However I will scream bloody murder if Martinez comes anywhere near SJP unless it's on the away team coach, after what happened with Haidara.

Laurent Blanc would be a better choice, he revitalised the French team. That being said, I would have loved Paolo DiCanio. He's passionate to the point of mental instability, and he'll have sunderland working to the bone in order to improve.

Agree0 Disagree0

PLEASE PLEASE BLANC, would give a real lift to the club as he is french. would be my favourite!

since the turn of the year up until WBA game we have played 20 games. in those games we have fired a blank in 7 games, snd only in 4 of those games have we scored more than once!

I say our problems lie with being greedy and selling our only striker who looked like scoring regularly. ie. Demba Ba. an d as for people making excuses for cisse. well its proven he's not good enough. Forgot last seasons fluke-fest. he's got to be judged on this season and his goals to chances ratio. he's rubbish!!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Cisse set up the goal today. I have lost count of how many games in a row he has scored or created an assist now.

So much for Cisse being out of form eh?

And what are you talking about saying we have been ''greedy'' by selling Ba?

Ba was not sold, Ba left by invoking a the buy out clause in his contract. Are you sure you are a Newcastle fan?

Agree0 Disagree0

Its not cisse's fault or the players fault, its pardews. No plan B, away form terrible. Pardew cannot get the best out of players like tiote and cisse and can't manage them properly. Cisse is a top class striker no doubt, its simply pardew not managing him properly.
Blanc for the job in the summer.

Agree0 Disagree0

If u believe ba had to be sold then u r a mug

also I have lost count of cisses misses/personic offside costing goals! if we had a decent centre forward he would have had two goals a game for the dast 8 games! shearer would have buried loads

u r obviously a daft fan who thinks we are 'unlucky' this season!

Agree0 Disagree0

Comment numner 2. I can tell u are a toon fan by your arguement. but I think u are blinded ha. u r soooo wrong

Agree0 Disagree0

Jst because u criticise your players/ team, it dnt make u not a fan.

Agree0 Disagree0

If it wasn't for cisse Newcastle would be in an awful position this season the lad has definitely saved the toon from relegation

Agree0 Disagree0

Cisse is not a top class striker at all! Misses far to many simple chances and constantly offside, his only saving grace is he's better than shola.

Agree0 Disagree0

Cisse is not In the top 15 strikers in the Premiership A regular week in week out Striker woukd have us with at least 20 points more. His misses and schoolboy defending have put us where we are

Writing this 15minutes into the second half vs WBA.

First half, Cabaye was pulling all the strings, tactics spot on, Cisse getting onto everything, Sissoko running like there's no tomorrow.

Second half, WBA go two up top with Long and Lukaku. Now I know we can stick as we are and see how it pans out, but now is the time we need to switch it up and go 41 or 433. Just doesn't seem like Pardew has a plan B.

And I've literally just wrote that and WBA have equalised. Great stuff.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

The big idea was to bring on Ameobi, I do not know what to buy laugh anymore.

Adam Campbell has a proven record of changing games.

It was obvious WBA were going to come out different in the 2nd half.

That is the difference, they can change things, and Pardew didn't adapt to stay on top.

Pardew used to be good at switching the tactics up through games, recently his only idea is throw Ameobi on if everything isn't working. complete disaster!

never seen a guy making as many excuses as pardew nearly a week after the game he is looking for them. what happened in reality was, beaten by a better team on the day who were motivated by a new manager who looks the part. as for mr pardew I don't think he will be in charge come next seasons derbies if both teams beat the drop.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

20 Apr 2013 11:06:51
For me, alan pardew must prove himself worthy of the job by getting a reaction out of the players and beating west brom, beat liverpool, west ham, get a draw out of QPR and arsenal. Losses against liverpool and arsenal will be acceptable.

But in actual fact, I still think he doesn't know what he's doing. We've had to put up with this 442 hoofball crap for about 3/4 of the season, where we loft it into the box with 2 attackers there, then get embarrassed by southampton, swansea sunderland who played good football. But then he switched to 4231, and got us playing some good stuff but getting unlucky, but is it a good idea with cisse RW and jonas LW? no. and over the last few games, we've started playing it direct again and we've paid the price. In my opinion, I think pardew has got complacent, cocky about winning LMA manager of the year award and having an 8 year contract in his back pocket. He never setup a plan B last summer, because he wasn't backed by the board, but no, he was too afraid to say that he wasn't backed in the media, in fear of getting sacked.
he's becoming more and more clueless on how to manage our team which is top 8 quality and is very balanced. He has struggled to get the best out of tiote and it seems when I watch tiote play, he is heavily relied on to control the midfield, he gets too far forward, he's not sitting in front of the defence as much, there's no other players who are helping him hold the midfield, so he's just being abandoned. He still hasn't realised that sissoko is a yaya toure mould, DM, can drive through the midfield. He still hasn't realised that cabaye is better in a free role rather than sitting very deep. He still hasn't realised that jonas just isn't good enough anymore. he's not a central midfielder because he gives the ball away, he's not a winger because he can't take players on. He's not a left back because he can't keep up with wingers.

my suggestion is, get behind the team through the last 5 games, if we win 2 away games, beat west brom and draw liverpool then he stays until december at least. If we carry on failing, with wrong tactics, decisions, lineups, get him out and get in laurent blanc, someone who can really connect with the club as he is french, can get the best out of all of our french players. Can motivate a dressing room, can get a team playing good football.

You have only won 1 away all season, come on man united do post some tripe.

Agree0 Disagree0

We'll have to improve that then.

That is not what I posted. I did not post anything with united in it, never mind, I can see you are an editor who edits what suits him.

Untill recently I was against carroll coming back, I thought in the game we won 3-0 vs scousers he showed no respect and made it clear he didn't want to come back. However you cannot deny he is awsome when his in the form he is right now and I think, for 10mill i'd bite your hand off

Oh my days as if our injuries couldn't get any worse. Tiote and marveaux are set to miss out while Ben arfas hamstring is still not right so he could feature on the bench. Coloccini is still a doubt.
Elliot
Debuchy Taylor Mbiwa Haidara
Sissoko Anita
Jonas (unfortunately) Cabaye Gouffran
Cisse

Geordie Moses,

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I am not concerned about Tiote being out.

The other two is a different story.

Agree0 Disagree0

Theres nothing wrong with ben arfa he's fully fit and has been for a while pardew fallen out with him and will sell him in summer, not giving 100% in training

Favourites for the drop no steam no ambition and playing like a Championship team

All this being thrown at NUFC now and the more I look at it it has a good chance of happening. 2 points maximum from our last games & we are gone

Does anyone else think this?

Marc

Believable0 Unbelievable0

No, look at our run in, every single game is winnable.
west brom-ok that's going to be a toughie but they've got nothing to play for.
liverpool-thats a game we should win, they are very inconsistent especially away from home.
West ham-a game we should win but they are a very dangerous team.
QPR-If they still have a chance of staying up then it will be difficult.
Arsenal-will want to finish top 4 but again they're inconsistent away from home.
I think we can easily get 6 points there at least.
But if we do happen to scrape off relegation, then we need a fresh start, get rid of pardew, carver etc. and a massive clearout of players.

And get in moyes or blanc with their back room staff who can really motivate, fire up a dressing room and get us playing some lovely football.
I think blanc would be the main choice as he is french, will be able to get the best out of sissoko, cisse (french speaking), tiote, cabaye, marveaux, m'biwa, debuchy, benny.

Agree0 Disagree0

With your run in, and your Keystone Cops defence, every game is also loseable. Chris-s.
