Even though I think ashley won't sack pardew because he'll say its a one off season but i'm just going to shara the advantages and disadvantages of the selection of managers who could replace pardew.

Laurent Blanc-Good tactician, got an average team to win ligue 1, however not a good man manager (Fell out with some of the french team).

Rafa Benitez-Attacking football, tactical however again not a man manager, gerrard said when benitez left that he could of got a few more "well done's"

Roberto Di Matteo-A calm, quiet? manager who knows how to set a team up, so he is a tactician but he's not really renown for attacking fluent football (Parked the bus against barca and bayern)

Roberto Martinez-Knows how to get the best out of every player and an actual tactician, but could we trust a manager who's team are fighting relegation every season, even when they do spend those 5mils and 7mils?

Gus Poyet-Passionate manager, got Brighton playing some lovely football though they're only a top 8 championship team.

David Moyes- (If he leaves Everton) Again he's made everton a top 8 team with good football and a solid defence. Proven in the prem.

My top 6:
1) David Moyes
2) Roberto Di Matteo
3) Rafa Benitez
4) Laurent Blanc
5) Roberto Martinez
6) Gus Poyet

If we could get Laudrup then he'd defo be in the top three but I doubt we could.

Thoughts?

The way I see it no one will be the right man. Most people are expecting a quick fix solution. I would honestly love Moyes at our club, but to get Everton where they are has took him time. But I don't think it has cost Everton a lot of money to get where they are.

Rafa please man no one wants him, and he will be on a bomb, a bomb that MA won't pay.

Di Matteo - Again love to see it, but how? Would he want to come, after what Chelsea did to him and what our club is like for sacking managers I can't see him wanting to come.

Blanc - You said it, HBA would be straight out the door!

Still though, everyone is forgetting about the special one ;-) he might be out of Madrid, think we could pick him up? (jokesss)
It would be his biggest ever challenge getting Newcastle a cup and I think that would write his name down in history. Anyway that is my pipe dream, if only dreams came true lol

I'm the original poster and I agree with 2nd post but pardew is definitely not the right man, ashley needs to make a wise decision. Di matteo or moyes for me, they can really build something at this club.

To original poster:

Di Matteo is honestly my favourite but, will MA pay for him?
Would Matteo take a risk in coming to us?
Will MA even get shot of AP?

Until the season is over i'm trying not too give a thought to the new manager, leave that for the summer (at least we will have something to talk about not like last summer lol)

I am still just trying to enjoy my pipe dream of Mourinho coming to the Toon haha

A dennis wise decision?

I know you said Di Matteo parked the bus vs Bayern and Barca, but remember he had only just come in. The only sensible way to set up a team against the best in the world is ultra-defensive, press and counter, and do you know? It worked perfectly.

Personally though, he's not done much else in his managerial career so I'd prefer someone more experienced.

Di Matteo is hardly too big for Newcastle.

Let's just remember that he was let go from West Brom and was a glorified caretaker that got lucky at Chelsea.

Is that what we want? a Manager that had a lucky half season at a club with very good players.

Im a mackem and I think Steve Bruce would be a top manager for newcastle, no wind up seriously.

He loves your club, has a hatred for sunderland since he's sacking and still to this day bitter about it, so would relish the opportunity.

At times under Bruce we played some mouthwatering football, Bruce's problem was he's geordie connections, then more importantly he's terrible derby record, unforgivable derby record from which he never recovered. Oh and that bad run didn't help lol.

We had a great attack in bent, gyan'welbeck, malbranque, Henderson.

He can put good teams together.

He might love our club but he has no place in it!

There is a line in the sand that you don't cross and he crossed it, and did you see the mess he made at Wonderland?
