I know its a banter page, but nufc 5th and safc 8th shows north-east clubs have the ambition . . . and will make derby more fierce . . . .great job pardew and o niel . . . iToon

Believable5 Unbelievable1

Lol no!!

Agree2 Disagree0

The difference is, the only ambition sunderland have is finishing above us... Whilst we Are more likely to finish in the champions league this season than arsenal and liverpool.

Agree3 Disagree3

A sensible first post, followed by two silly childish ones!

Agree6 Disagree3

Too right! Its just a shame we both have person fans that are determined too embarass the north east for the sake of taking a cheap shot at each other!
North east for life!
Liono 74 safc

Agree3 Disagree2

Signing Wayne bridge and kyrgiakos is ambition, I think not

Agree1 Disagree2

Why do SMB always come on here dont you have anything to talk about on our own page?

Agree2 Disagree2

Not really, the fact is they are great rivals and as it says it is a banter page. Newcastle have come on leaps and bounds this season mainly due to the amazing job that Carr has done finding quality players. Other teams have given up scouting for themselves and follow Carr around instead.

Sunderland needed to give Bruce more cash to spend and he would have come good eventually. MON is a good manager, but I feel he may be offski if a bigger job comes up... Tottenham for example if Arry gets the England job or is sacked for his criminality.

Lets not forget at the start of the season our smelly neighbours were full of themselves, saying we were going down and that they had spent loads on players etc etc, but when we played them at their shed and came away with all 3 points, most of their early confidence went... and rightfully so.

Most Toon faithful were worried sick that we would be relegated at the start of the season. I for one was unsure if all of our new players would gel and was worried we lacked a goal threat. However Ba is class and is one of the most feared strikers in the prem. Cabaye has shown why he was rated as one of the best MF players in France and Santon has been amazing at LB considering he is a RB by trade. Now we have a new number 9... hopefully he can wear the shirt and do it justice... HWTL.

Also, SMB need to stay in the prem... easy 6 points a season! Toon toon toon.

Toonal

Agree3 Disagree1

Another geordie clown with too much arrogance^ bring on march 4th when we put you SGBS in your place

Agree1 Disagree2

Not good enough to put us in our place. SMB.

Agree3 Disagree1

Note to toon al. firstly oniell has wanted to manage sunderland for years llness to wife etc means this is only real oppertunity hehas had. so, cant see why he would run away. secondly, bruce spent enough money he just wasnt up to managing them. we are playing much better now so wont be the walk over that you are predicting. please feel free to leave a SENSIBLE reply mad max

Agree1 Disagree0

2 totally different teams to the ones that played in the first derby of the season, toon seem to have a weaker defence now with saylor injured but a much better striker in demba ba than when he first came, n mackems have found some form (great for north east) so it all builds up to a great derby (hopefully) wudnt be surprised to see a high scoring match, oh and lets face it no team is scared of the other, childish remarks!

Agree1 Disagree0

So mad max, when he left leicester he was going to Sunderland? no, when he left Celtic he was going to Sunderland? When he went to Villa he was going to Sunderland... NO. The fact is he was available at the time. ONeil would have gone Blackburn if they were looking for a manager in your place at that time. It was nothing but timing.

If it was a case of Sunderland always wanting him, why did they not pay to get him? Or why not take on a caretaker manager until the he takes over?

The fact was at the time a prem team who had a reasonable squad came up he jumped at the chance. Timing is everything...

Toonal

PS. He will walk if a better job comes up. Unless you can stump up the mega bucks to keep him.

You have to be truthful, at this moment in time Newcastle have a far better team and will finish above you lot and when we meet in March we will be favorites to win. END OF

Agree0 Disagree1

You mean you wish sir mon would leave

Agree0 Disagree0

I think both our defences can be dodgy and with both of us missing good CBs the defences will be creaky on derby day too. Think Nufcs midfield are better than safc's and that our strikers are miles ahead of theirs! But overall i think it will be a battle of who takes the early chances and if an early goal is scored it will light up the game and be end to end which the keepers will have to have a big say in the game and with Krul being by far the better keeper it will end in a toon win!

Really dont understand all the over hype around ben arfa... he scored that amazing goal against a poor team and is one of the greediest players i have ever seen. If any one has seen the film goal about nufc pardew needs to do that bit where he kicks the ball and makes him run after it! On the positive side quite a good game tonight guthrie played well again and colo is outstanding. And ameobi gets worse every game soo poor today

Believable3 Unbelievable5

Ben arfa Has now contributed 2 goals and 3 assistes since his return For Newcastle and has completed 100 passes in the other teams half befor tonight's game so do you we have 5 goals down to him . So just get off his pack and suport all the team.

Agree5 Disagree1

Benny arfa is a excellent player he just was not at his best tonight.

Agree5 Disagree1

Ben Arfa is not a winger. He should be played behind a striker. Shold have dropped Strolla and play him behind best. With 2 wingers on either flank.

Agree3 Disagree0

Ben arfa has 3 goals with 1 of them in the fa cup.

Agree1 Disagree0

Ben Arfa has the ability of finding passes out of the ordinary, he changes the game when he comes on with his pace, what more are you wanting. He could easily be a top 4 player we are lucky we have him!

5th!!!! HAHA SMB eat that.

BA and Cisse back sunday anyone see more Goals??

Believable4 Unbelievable3

And we beat Norwich easily and not got lucky at blackburn, we 8th, wait till the end of the season before you get too cockey coz sunderland are coming for you SGBS

Agree3 Disagree4

You have to win 3 more games than us.
have you seen your remaning fixtures.SMB

Agree2 Disagree2

Just like how you won man city lucky? Amd how we beat Man utd, or should I say hammered.

Agree2 Disagree2

Omg! omg! omg! orgasmic, weve got the best team in the land !

Agree0 Disagree0

Have you seen your fixtures? worse than ours

Agree0 Disagree0

Safc run of games coming are much tougher than the toons! sunderland will be lucky to pick up many points by time we play them! I expect them to be 15 points behind by time we take 3 off them! If we had won by one goal then yes you could say lucky cos of how blackburn played and the own goal but cos it was 2 nil and with the clean sheet and penalty save i would say it was a tactical win and a good one at that! Teams at the bottom always fight after xmas for their lives but hoillett dived and the penalty wasnt a penalty and other than wayward shots and attempts from afar we werent really pressured! Now we have our strikers coming back in too so more goal threat from us which will mean more wins!

Agree3 Disagree3

Maybe if you should read the last bit agian and repost. SMB haha see you 4th!!

Agree2 Disagree2

In perch I trust, tiote will have a fight for the enforcers position

Agree1 Disagree1

Err no, perch is a fringe player, but did a job...

Agree1 Disagree0

Perch will be captain of england by the time the euros role around

What is Pardew doing! Ben Arfa off and Perch on - if theres no injury there that is a very pessimistc substitution. We should have takne Shola off and put an extra body in midfield - maybe Lovenkrands on the left and Jonas in the middle. I dont get his tactic some times, actually most of the time.

Believable1 Unbelievable2

Looks like pardew was right! Don't question the guy, it's another 3 points with 3 of our most influencial players not on the pitch and our new number 9 waiting for his debut.

Agree0 Disagree0

Baha he's made you look a right mug.

perch on HBA off.. tactical!! craptical more like... HBA will be off in summer

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Sorry mate but it was a good decision and not jus cos we won but perch was really good and put a foot in whenever he had the chance

Agree1 Disagree0

There's no point in playing HBA if we aren't getting on the ball and he doesn't have others making runs ahead of him.

01 Feb 2012 19:39:32
no samba in blackburn team good for us but ameobi starts about time he got sacked

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Why has Pardew picked only 7 players?? Ben Arfa,Williamson,Best and Ameobi are absolute crap. Get Ameobi off and put some pace on. I hope ameobis contract is up in summer!!!!!!!!!!

Agree1 Disagree3

Did you just say Ben Arfa was carp..? Look what he did last time against Blackburn.

Cabaye has had his appeal rejected by F.A.
BUT FOR SOME REASON STAYS ON 3 MATCH BAN. {Ed001's Note - the ban is only extended if the appeal is felt to be 'frivolous' and they had no real grounds to appeal. This wasn't extended because it wasn't felt to be frivolous.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Just as well they didnt take Pardews comments into consideration then.
Jeez.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd like to see newcastle take this further, i know it won't help in the sense that cabaye is still banned but, surely, when you get a letter from the "victim" saying he doesn't feel Cabaye's challenge wasn't malicious then there is no decision to make here except to overturn the ban. the FA need to be made an example of. Rooney blatantly kicked someone yet the FA got it reduced to a 2 game ban.

Agree1 Disagree0

Two faced fa again. Yes cabaye prob was a sending off but how as the tottenham left back got away with his tackle? Fa really need to have a long hard look at themselves and get it sorted!

Agree1 Disagree0

Unlucky deal with it, cabaye has done stuff like this all season and has got away with it, it's about time he got punished for one

Agree0 Disagree0

Cant understand why we didnt go for bassong? Wolves got him on a loan, that would have been perfect!

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Why ,he deserted us when we went down.

Agree3 Disagree1

Totally agree with original post, would have been an excellent signing on loan, cover ctr back AND left back. Think we really ricked there. Deserted us? Maybe 8m was too much for Ashley to turn down mate.

Agree1 Disagree1

Rubbish, he's petulent and a money grabber and couldn't be bothered to help us get back in pl. We don't need the likes of him ,we will get quality cb in the summer.Get off MA back the mans just spent 9m for gods sake. some people just want us to spend for the sake of it .

Agree0 Disagree0

I would have been pleased to get through the transfer window doing no business, meaning we wouldn't lose anyone. To get through not losing anyone and get a new number nine in makes it a good transfer window (would have been a great one had we signed a CB).

Overall very happy!

Huge step for our youth system!
All the best to kadar and airey especially.
Now looking forward to dig out some brilliant youth talent!

bad day in the transfer market means we will struggle for the rest of the season no cover for cb , cabaye cud be out for 4 games , that along wit injuries and suspensions during winter months ooh the future looks bleak !!

Believable2 Unbelievable6

Ben Arfa, Guthrie, Vuckic, abeid as cover for centre mid, kadar covering for cb, you having a laugh mate?

Agree4 Disagree1

Karat bin released

Agree1 Disagree0

Kadar will be released end of season when his contract is out.
