unfortunately guys get ready for relegation again, this club is on a downward spiral, we've got an owner who put a lock on his safe and lost the key, a managing directer who does nothing but lie and shows no initiative, and a manager who DOES have experience in the prem, only at getting clubs relegated or getting the sack and finally a captain who still doesnt speak good english and hasnt ACTUALLY been that impressive over the last few seasons. 4 signings YES 4 signings with experience in the premier league NO. and after our last season we've sold our two top strikers, our club player of the season, and we're left with ameobi up front. we need a prayer and a miracle

Barton's an arse s**t in his own nest.people forget when he was in jail ( getting £60 grand a week )that nearly a quarter of a million per month.sat in his cushy cell counting his money .barton got his wishso lets move on do what we do best support our team through thick and thin. to ed you heard out about any incoming players m8.

{Ed042's Note - Not defending the lad, not a happy camper over todays events but he didnt earn near that while in prison, earned a total after wage fines by the club of around 20K, I know poor him haha.. anyway thats it mate, all we can do is look forward, as far as players being linked wont get anything of substance until wednesday as regards a replacement for Joey, next couple of days will be all about him.. but taking the optimistic approach, it might be a good thing if there is money there to sign a replacement, with all the attention on Joey we may be able to sneak a very clever signing in without anyone getting wind of it}

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Cheers m8 hwtl

Getting worried now
Okay Ashley is balancing the books
But to what end so he can sell or push us forward
Personally when The transfer Market started looked
Good.
Now I think we've been lied to again
Putting in bids in at half valueband saying we tried
Keep the faith my arse were being s**t on again
Just want to see agree if for Ashley or disagree if you want him out
Either way Pardew sod off spineless weak and clueless

Agree or disagree with me but last season 5 players did more than most to preserve our premiership status. Nolan, Barton, Collocini, Enrique and Carroll. Next to leave will be Colo as soon as an offer comes in. WHY is the Fat Lad ruining everything we are trying to build? WHY is Pardew nodding like a pathetic prat? If i meet the Fat B*****D in an airport anywhere, i will trounce the little s**t The club is bigger than a little fat cockney like him, boycott the fat B*****Ds shops and lets drive the clown out of our club

Believable3 Unbelievable0

What about tiote?

Agree2 Disagree0

01 Aug 2011 22:07:07
Even more proof that fat lad does everything in his power to f**k us off Barton goes to jail and fans in uproar wanting him released...... Ashley defies and keeps him Barton gets his act together, plays possibly his best ever season and gets fans player of the year........ Ashley defies and refuses new contract( this was before twitter rants by the way) why does he do it? Lads this will never change unless the fans take action to get fat lad out We just need to accept it cos he's going nowhere in a hurry

Believable3 Unbelievable2

Barton was offered a contract in January and rejected it.

Many on this site shedding crocodile tears for the "sacking " of JB for just saying the top brass were going to get us relegated. Many seem to have forgotten who Alan Shearer regarded as culpable when we were relegated.
I think when it comes down to who knows what is best for NUFC its no contest, JB would have been moved on had AS remained the Manager.
JB has proved Leopards don't change spots once again by letting down the team , his team mates and indeed the fans who simply wanted him to keep his head down and try to improve on the mixed form showed last season.
Just like the relegation scrap, he acts stupid and has to get sent off
Bon Chance, Joey

01 Aug 2011 21:44:16
I'm a little weary of all this "he said, she said" rubbish to be honest. The reality here is that if Barton had really wanted to stay, his best chance would have been to say nothing at all. But what did he do? He opened a Twitter account and sat there chirping away like a canary until his bosses took the bait. Its not rocket science but its close to Machiavelli for a footballer. Of course McKay isn't pulling any strings at all is he...?

Watch this space First home game of the season I will be in the ground and my shirt will be thrown to AP in the dug out Hit them where it hurts-in the pocket Boycott the franchises till hes gone My shirt has Barton on it and they will know why when its given(thrown). Disgusted at the way this man goes on Bobby will be turning in his grave Now that was a legend in SJP not the fat lad

Believable4 Unbelievable0

01 Aug 2011 21:20:50
If AP had any decency or pride he would walk away from that joke of a man MA He is a total pratt and is ruining everything for us fans and our great club No matter what i will back the 11 lads out on that field but MA is a dictator and gets rid of anyone of strengh

01 Aug 2011 21:14:47
The fat controller strikes again. How can we challenge for anything if we are letting our best players go and replacing them with unknowns who may not play well in the prem like so many of the other euro flops we have signed in the past? Manu and Arsenal are looking at Barton which shows that he is a quality player. I am really sick of the fat man, too many players gone, Caroll, Nolan, Barton and Enrique is likely to be next. We are a laughing stock and no English player worth his salt will come to us now... I want ANYONE to buy the club, yanks arabs whoever, get the fat man out. He makes me phyisically sick.

Believable5 Unbelievable2

01 Aug 2011 21:03:42
Everyone pull your head out ya ar#es, barton will not be replaced, we will not get any top striker, what players will want to come to our joke of a club, its a shambles, tough season ahead

Believable4 Unbelievable1

Treating people the way our chairman is is bang outa order Yes joey talks too much s*** instead of playing his football and yes enrique should shut up or put up cos he not gonna get a move to a top top club cos lets face it he not all that good But the facts remain that MA is an person who gets shot of anyone who dare challenge him or speak out about him Carroll, nolan, barton, alladyce, keegan, just to name the big ones Theres a name for a person who does this to people they see as a risk and its......TYRANT

Im starting 2 think ashley wants us relegated, our 4 best players last season r gone or going

Believable3 Unbelievable2

We will struggle without them But lets face it they cant be that good or we would have done better

Seem to think that 3 of the "best players were in the team when we were relegated.
If JB thinks we were heading that way again then well done MA foe getting them out.

01 Aug 2011 20:48:45
ashley has also put pardew in a hard position because he has publically backed barton numerous times so i wonder if he will go back on everything he has said? or whether he will speak the truth and get fired as well lol

Believable0 Unbelievable0

01 Aug 2011 20:23:52
Most likely Jonas will play RM Ferguson will play LB no replacements brought in but come on let's not be too harsh cause I'm sure Pardew will tell us " they tried" to bring in players. It'll be interesting to hear what Pardew goes back on himself about this week.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

A know what he will say"We tried really hard to get players in the chairman has worked really hard but at the end of the day they just didnt come off and we didnt want to get players in that didnt fit our criteria" Mark my words we hear the same shi* at the end of every window

ed042 could you please enlighten me have they released barton or just told him he can leave on a free cos if they have released him would, nt they have to pay his wages up to end of contract thanks

{Ed042's Note - Transfer listed and allowed to go for free.. not released.. and that exactly why, Joey would be due approx. 3.1m if they released}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

01 Aug 2011 19:43:06
Ashley could sell Tiote and Colocinni and replace them with League 1 players and people would still defend him wake up of course the club is in a better financial situation cause we aren't signing players other than Cabaye which was covered by Nolan money.

Believable0 Unbelievable2

This has got nowt to do with the Toon selling players, it's about Barton being a knob, why can't people see he's engineered this through twitter and now he's trying to make out he's some sort of fans hero. Remember he was offered a contract in January and rejected it and he seems to forget the club stuck by him when he was in jail. It's all bollox about pride in the shirt he's just another greedy player obsessed by money.

Agree4 Disagree8

Dont see how you can blame barton at all fair enough he has had a go at the club as we lost in a friendly he would be disapointed but everything he has said appears to be the truth the fact is ashley and llambias were looking for a excuse to get barton out and they found one why would barton want to be unemployed as he effectively is and the fact is the money he gets from the new contract from his new club may not be what he was getting at newcastle and the fact is it is ashley who is ruining the club not one player trying to make a point to the fans.

Agree4 Disagree1

It's got everything to do with selling players. Joey wants to be at a club with ambition not one fighting relegation every season.

Agree1 Disagree0

Ask Alan Shearer if he thinks Joey wants to fight to avoid relegation.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Aug 2011 19:41:41
already enquiries from spurs, aresenal and stoke for barton according to ssn this just shows the calibre of player joey is and also shows the money we could have had/ mike ashley could have had for him and the fact is i know some of you are fans of ashley (somehow) but the fact is i would rather have a club like man u where they are in debt yet the club is still achieving the sucess and i think that us as fans deserve some sort of sucess if if that does involve the club going into debt.

Any player we are linked with would turn us down in a heart beat which player seriously wants to join a team thet gets rid of ALL of its top preformers we are not going to challenge for any silverware and with the squad as small as it is a few injurys and we could be in big trouble i doubt if we could even attract championship players at the minute its not as if we can even offer players premiership wages anymore. My season ticket has been renewed as i will allways support my team but my god its hard to sometimes. Ashley might of steadied the ship when he came in but he doing a better job of sinking it.

Believable8 Unbelievable1

Who would click disagree to the post its spot on we are in a mess at the minute as we wont be signing any players we seem to be putting all our efforts in to signing a player that wants to stay where he is and the club he plays for want to keep him, i dont think we will get anybody then we will get the same old story of we tried but it just didn't come off but dont worry the money will be invested in to the squad in January

"yes pardew you will have all the 35m" what a joke we have broke even, and by selling routlage we will have 37. dont be surprised if alan pardew is sack this season or leaves the club joey barton wore that black and white shirt with pride and gave it his all in every single game he played and was a great leader all the best joey barton if teh goes to another premier league club, lets get behind him at st james park and sing THERES ONLY ONE JOEY BARTON

i was thinking about getting a season ticket this season but the fat pr**k has made my decision for me, this is coming from a die hard toon fan:- Newcastle to finish 19th this season.... doom and gloom ahead who will want to sign for us? No-one we have turned into a joke

Believable3 Unbelievable1

IF they manage to do something like bring in Barnetta to replace Barton and add a good striker and at the same time bring in a left defender for Jose who is leaving and maybe even an additional surprise then I believe a season ticket will be a great thing to have.

Agree1 Disagree3

Giv me a pint of wot youve been drinking mate yous are a joke when are you gona realise it

Ashley is slowly but surely wrecking this club. When fans were slowly starting to tolerate him(not like) he f**cks it up again.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Aug 2011 17:26:10
I declare my colors to be sunderland before you start just slagging me off. Barton is/was your best player last year now you all slag him off now he's a gonner treat him with respect he is only saying what is happening to your club. All main players from last season gone or going and still no sign of Tiote, foreign players not sure how will adapt yet I would be worried for season not just 2nd game. FTM

Believable2 Unbelievable5

Worry about your own club. You've hardly bought players that have set the premiership alight have you ??.... In fact 2 of them helped to put their previous club in the Championship. p.s. We will never worry about you lot tha'ts for sure. You are and always will be living in our shadows......

Agree3 Disagree2

This situation is just another case of there being no middle ground at our club. Barton was wrong to bitch about the club on twitter, same as Jose. But booting players out of the club is not the right answer.

Barton clearly has a massive ego and thinks as a senior player he should stick it to the higher ups, but that isn't how it works, he is an employee and therefore his actions have consequences.

On the other hand, Ashley is a power tripping maniac who has a my way or the highway philosophy.

And for the record, if you don't want people slagging you off, don't be a person coming here writing "FTM" at the end of your posts saying as you're actually here to make a fair point. You'll just antagonise people.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

01 Aug 2011 17:13:30
Ashley does not care about the club or the fans, money is his sole motivation. I'd be very suprised if he hasn't got someone ringing around the clubs trying to cash in on the likes of colo and tiote.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

I agree with teh Barton decision, but am concerned you might be right. If my memory serves didn't Ashly make it knwon around the league about 3 years ago that anyone was for sale just a couple of days before the transfer window closed? He would lose millions if teh club went down again so surely not, but then again he can afford it.

not one to jump on a bandwagon, but i would really appreciate it if MA just F****D off. I was willing to give him a chance but he, and his little bumbuddy Llambias have ripped out the team spirit that Chris Hughton spent a year to distill, sigh, the life of a newcastle fan, great eh?

01 Aug 2011 16:52:38
Get a grip man lads we knew he was leaving anyway, ashleys just getting his own back for the way he's slaughtered the regime all summer, he's hitting him were it hurts by selling him now so he doesn't pick up his massive signing on fee next season, although it's not the end of the world Im a bit worried by the lack of fight there will be in the team, especially when the derby comes around, chin up you know you'll be there against arsenal whatever happens

Believable0 Unbelievable1

Enrique has been talking s**t about the owners too. Let put him out on a free transfer as well.

Agree0 Disagree1

I think you'll find since he's leaving for free there is nothing to stop him getting a signing on fee

Agree0 Disagree0

Haha Enrique was tapped up months ago, he's just available for nothing it's not a bosman so he won't get half as much a signing on fee, from what his agent said it sounds like he's going to a champions league club, that's a bigger incentive than money anyway

Agree0 Disagree0

Not my point. You can't run a football club like a dictatorship, kicking players out just because they speak out of turn. There has to be middle ground.

The players should be able to voice their concerns about where the club is going, albeit not over Twitter. And the management should listen to the concerns and address them.

Since senior players like Barton are known for their attitude problems, and Ashley is a psycho.. This will never work.

Agree0 Disagree1

You say that but he is, what you gana do about it apart from give it the big one on the internet

Agree0 Disagree0

I dunno, how about being a professional and going to the board with his concerns?

Regardless of whether he was right or wrong, shouting off on Twitter is totally unprofessional.

Agree1 Disagree0

I didn't mean Barton matey I meant is fans it's time to make a stand instead of taking this bull sh*t it's every other month he puts us in the headlines for the wrong reasons, we should follow Liverpool fans example they proved fan power can still win in modern football

Agree1 Disagree1

I suppose, but that won't happen. And you have to ask if boycotting the club is really the right way to go.

We had a good season in the Championship and all was going well until Hughton was sacked. Then it declined a bit more in January.

I was optimistic at the start of the transfer window, we got some decent free and cheap players in. Now its all going to s**t again, and not just because of Barton. But Him, Nolan and Enrique have all been making comments like this, its going to cause unrest, morale will drop and its going to affect us.

Fan protests will just add to that, although I'd love to think we could rid ourselves of Ashley.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Aug 2011 16:42:18
Newcastle offering Joey Barton on a FREE TRANSFER
Undoubtedly our best player last season, now set to leave. This comes after Nolan and Carrol. Jose also set to leave. Nufc is turning into a complete joke.

I think A Pardew should walk, as he stated he didn't want Nolan to leave, and just lately he's been saying he thinks Bartons contract will be sorted out this season Well it has And if he isn't Ashleys puppet he will have the balls and leave ASAP

Believable8 Unbelievable0

Barton was a bad influence and along with Nolan tried to run the team.
Pardew will be quite happy with this, he is the one running the team and Barton did not like it. Thsi may even have been Pardew's idea.

And so it begins

The circus that is the club we love is to be dragged through the papers again as the sacking will just be the start and joey is now free to say what he like
s

i was daft enough to listen to puppet pardew

and i was daft enough to think we were going to try and bring some quality in

i was daft enough to think the guy i worshiped for years ie keegan was talking rubbish when he said ashley wont spend a cent of the carroll money

i was daft enough to sign up for 10 years

i was daft enough to think we had a decent team
that even with a few add ons could have been

heading towards the promised land of just missing out on the europa league : progress , ( another deluded geordie they say )

reality is we have spent nowt

we are chasing our best players away

but like i say am daft and i was at darlo i will be there on sunday and i will be there against arsenal

just incase this lunatic knows someyhing i dont and d we do win something with a less than average squad

least its a canny pint in the newcastle labour

Its sad to see Joey on his way out the door, however don't fool yourself that he wasnt't pushing for something like this. He was not being handed a new contract or a spot for this seasons starting 11. He could see the writing on the wall and wanted to leave with the fans still loving him. He forced the fatman's hand.

I have no love for Mike A, and the way the club is being run. But again dont think for a hot minute Joey didnt know what results his comments would have on his future.

He gets his exit, the club are the only bad guys... win win Joey.

Everyone on this site is all ways going on about how Fat Ash only cares about money. Well he has shown the door to a player that the team doesn't want for FREE Putting what he believes is best for the team ahead of cash. I am sure many dont see it that way, but IF and I stress IF we bring in a few more players, this mess wont matter one bit.

One last thing i read Ranger is now thinking about his future at Newcastle.... what future??

Believable2 Unbelievable4

Well said, exactly eth right decision by the board just 3 years too late which most fans seems to conveniently forget they wanted at the time. However, not hopeful of many new signings, MA has proved each window that it is an opportunity to make a profit not a loss on transfers. Still we live in hope, we bid £10m for Gameiro so that money must be there still to get someone?

Agree1 Disagree2

What 10 mil your brain washed with all this transfer sh-t.

Agree0 Disagree0

We had a £10m bid for Gameiro accepted, the fact he chose not to come is a moot point. Perhaps you are the one who's been brain washed by all the negative fans?

Agree0 Disagree0

So were all negitive except you, the 10 mil accepted so why didnt he come, because there is one thing putting out these stories for mugs like you to believe, Ashley will probably send you a load of freebees from his summer collection.

Good riddance to Barton. Anyone who says different is just a hypocrite. Everyone said it was a disgrace when he was sent down and demanded he be sacked. The club carried on paying him £60k+ per week while he was banged up and through his many injuries. The only reason he did not go when we were relegated was because he was injured and NO ONE wanted to pay his wages.
The club stood by him and all we got was 1 quite good season. He is just a spoilt bairn because with Nolan they bullied Hughton and now Pardew is in charge he calls the shots in the dressing room and Barton does not like it. He is a disgrace with his twitter outbursts; he gets paid more in a week than most of us do in a year just to PLAY F'ING FOOTBALL, something a lot of us actually pay to do on a Saturday and Sunday. He is just a footballer and all his guff about the fans and him wanting to stay was just that, guff to try to get you all on side and most of you have fallen for it, he has engineered this to get away from the club. Mark my words he will get £60k somewhere else and within a month will be injured and causing bother. I am fuming about all the negative crap on here and the support for someone who has continually sh8t on our club.
Pardew and the board have grown a pair and got rid of an average performing trouble maker. Our new number 7, Cabaye, will soon make you forget Barton and Nolan he is better than both put together...and probably speaks better English.

Believable6 Unbelievable5

Who are you , somekind of blithering person by the sounds of this trash, you dont speak for me, you must be Lambasted..

Agree2 Disagree1

At least someone has the balls to write the truth. Joeys not stupid he knew his comments would have this outcome. Trying to leave as a god to the fans and all the blame on the Fatman. Truth is i liked Nolan and Joey, but both stink of sour grapes... no long term contract + no spot in the starting 11 = talk s*@t about the club.

Agree4 Disagree1

Anyone chucking season tickets over this is a complete muppet. Couldnt agree with you more mate. Get Barnetta in and Shane Long. What did Barton expect from these outbursts?....a new contract?
He knew exactly what he was doing, he even said to someone on twitter last night that he would only move on if it was a free transfer....made me suspicious straight away

Agree4 Disagree2

Not sure what you are trying to say. I am not speaking for anyone, just some one giving a realistic truthful opinion that is not blinded by Bartons false rhetoric and not afraid to not jump on the bandwagon. Seriously for what he gets paid, what has Barton done for NUFC? Scored the odd goal, created the odd goal, dragged NUFC through the papers countless times, had a bad disciplinary record for petulant thuggish behaviour on the pitch.

Agree1 Disagree1

Barton has tried to put things right for the toon, yes he was a bad lad but he came good, I am sad to see him go the team will be at a loss without him, so I still dont agree with your crap.

Agree3 Disagree0

Bull. Barton was employed as a player and his job was to perform to the best of his abilities on the pitch, if he had done that consistently he would have been doing all he could to put things right. He is NOT the Manager who is trying to improve the team and get us playing better football instead of route 1 rubbish, NOT the owner who is trying to solve the financial mess the club was in when he bought it. We are not the NUFC of the late 90's anymore, get up to date.

Agree2 Disagree1

You poor sad man you will see for yourself when we get kicked off the pitch, with most teams investing this season. what we have got left of the team we wil be a shadow of ourselves all the key players gone and injuries already mounting.
Our manager saying he wants one player in what a joke just like your post

Agree0 Disagree1

Like I've said, both parties are in the wrong here. Barton shouldn't have been slamming the owners over Twitter, he should have acted like a professional.

Then again Mike Ashley appears to be running this club like a dictatorship. Speak out of turn and you're gone. Cutting off his nose to spite his face just because of some comments.

We could have sold Barton for a few million, thats what Mike Ashley loves the most, money. Or just let him run down his contract. This was not the answer.

And so it begins

The circus that is the club we love is to be dragged through the papers again as the sacking will just be the start and joey is now free to say what he likes

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Have you forgortten how many times our club was dragged through the papers by this thug from Liverpool. You have a short memory and sadly like far too many are happy to jump on the Barton bandwagon....he has been after this for months, he was average after Christmas as a footballer but a star at causing bother as usual.

Agree2 Disagree1

Hope he lets them have both barrels.

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe this means either we'll get barnetta or guttierrez will be swapped to rm/rw whilst marvo (honestly just forgot how to spell his name) will play his preferred lm/lw.

Sorry mate we all feel like doing the same thing, but just cant bring myself to do it your braver than me.

Agree0 Disagree0

I hardly think he's being fickle by not wanting to like that fat t*wts pockets while he dismantles the club... its not turning ya back on anything because i dont even recognise it as my football club anymore, sooner more fans realise this and hit ashley where it hurts the better... RE: THE BARTON AFFAIR.

The club is in disarray and that won't change until del boy ashley and rodder's pardew are gone. Two weeks to go before the season starts and NUFC are in a mess. We should have been strengthening this summer on the back of the Carrol money.

There is no plan in place to move the club forward apart from asset stripping and improving del boy ashley's bank balance.

CARROL, NOLAN, ENRIQUE, BARTON ALL GONE OR GOING. How can the cockney liars be believed? What is the plan to move us forward? Free transfers and the retention of dross like Ameobi (oh please not another season of watching him lumbering around on the pitch), lovenkrands, smith, guthrie, perch, williamson.

Also how can a club move forward if it gets rid of its best players?? The answer is simple, it can't. Please someone save us and buy the fatman out

Joey Barton on Twitter saying he's going to make an announcement about his future on there at 4pm. Good news maybe? Or just more whining from him..?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Supposedly Newcastle have been in talks with a club about Joey hope he ain't leaving but I'm not expecting good news as I doubt he would of signed a new deal after his outburst he's either getting sold or been transfer listed.

Agree2 Disagree0

Joey Barton will anounce he's leaving today.

Agree1 Disagree0

I wouldn't be surprised if Joey is away to someone like Villa. They can afford his wages and we'll probably accept something like 3m for him.

Not that I agree.

Geo

Agree0 Disagree0

Latest is Lee Ryder has just said on twitter that he has heard Joey has been released

Agree0 Disagree0

What did Barton expect? could'nt agree more with Ashley, i recently sacked someone for something similar. Wages should be invested into getting Barnetta

Agree0 Disagree1

So why isn't Jose being released on a free too? His wages won't be invested into anybody.

Joey Barton to make an announcement regarding his future today at 4:00 (SSN/Twitter) Was already dreading next season especially with apparently only one more signing on the horizon, now looks like Barton might be on his way. The new boys must be wondering what the hell they've got themselves involved in

I'm finding this site pretty pointless now, I usually go on it a good few times a day but with all the quotes from pardew and everything that has been said I just think our club has turned into a laughing stock the lack of trust and the Twitter rants ect. Who in the right mind would want to join a club the way ours is being run all it has is a decent set of players with low morale and top quality fans. I think 3 or more signings need to be brought it or yet again i can see our squad lasting for another season and seriously struggling to find that bit of class we have so badly needed since sir bobby left the club.

Been thinking the same thing normally read this and nufcblog daily but I don't expect any good news no more so barely look now.

Well went to Leeds to watch Ashleys team get beaten off a team wh are no more than poor, Why Puppet Pardew stands like a little boy and lets Ashley tell him who he can buy and who he has to sell THEN picks the team for him. Until this wimp either walks or tells Ashley he wants some say in the team, then we are going nowhere. Rumour around Ellend Road yesterday was that there is DEFO interested parties putting a package together to take over Toon. We can only pray for this. Get Ashley, that clown in the sunglasses and Puppet Pardew out and bring Lee Clarke in to give us heart and passion from our manager. TOONLOYAL

If the weekend papers are to be believed and Evertyon are after Johnson on loan and QPR Onouaha on loan why the F are we not after them both on loan??

Personally I'd also happily swap Enrique for Bassong.

Finally we should get Long.
The season we went up, when he was younger and palyed against teh back four we still have now he caused all sorts of problems. Now older and with confidence from scoring loads last year would be a good signing. Championship players are sometimes worth the risk, look at Jagielka/Cahill/CRAIG BELLAMY

just have to ask (see if ed can sort this out) any way this SMOKESCREEN..is he anygood coz we seem to have been linked to him all season where does he play how old is he (is he cheap like ) ..geordie tom

{Ed042's Note - Haha cheers lads, perfect cure for the monday blues.. Havnt seen him play to be honest tom mate.. dont think anybody has.. rumour has it that he was raised by wolves and was taught how to play an evolved form of football thought to him by shaolin monks, yes i said thought, they used telepathy, no physical training, the skills just appeared in his feet one day, amazing stuff really.. anyway he has been kept in a secret location for the past four years by MA to unleash upon the world just as people are about ready to kill him.. so should be this season we get the first glimpse}

Alright guys

Not a rumour, but just some information. Correct me if I am wrong.
In terms of the new squad for next year, we all know of the following rules (BBC Sport)

- Clubs register a squad of up to 25 players, which must include at least eight 'home-grown' players, at the end of each transfer window.
- Clubs can supplement squad with unlimited number of players under the age of 21.

So as a club with, for some reason, little funds that is working within a strict business model we are not going to have excess players on high wages not making the cut. All of the 26 players are over 21 come squad registration

1 Harper 2 Krul
3 Foster 4 Simpson
5 R Taylor 6 Enrique
7 Williamson 8 Colocini
9 S Taylor 10 Perch
11 Kadar (DOB 14/3/90) 12 Tiote
13 Guthrie 14 Gosling (DOB 2/2/90)
15 Smith 16 Cabaye
17 Barton 18 Marveux
19 Routledge 20 Guttirez
21 Ben Arfa 22 Best
23 Ba 24 Ameobi
25 Xisco 26 Lovenkrands

Under 21 players would include Ferguson, Vucic, Abeid, Dummet, Ranger, Richardson, Ameobi, Airey and Tavenier etc

IMO Pardew is waiting to clear some off this from the wage bill (Ashleys instructions) before he brings people in. We know Routledge is basically away to Swansea for medical today, but that would leave us at 25. We need more outgoings (Perch, Lovenkrands, Smith, Guthrie etc) before we bring in squad players. Our starting 11 is pretty strong.

Thoughts? If your going to pick up on spelling mistakes, don t waste peoples time.

Robbo

Believable3 Unbelievable0

I agree Robbo, we do need to sell some deadwood but we better get our arse in gear 1st game is 2 weeks away and we do need a striker.

This is who I think we should sell on:
Forster - 2m
Williamson - 2m
Perch - £500,000
Smith - £500,000
Guthrie - £3m
Xisco - Loan, 1.5m
Lovenkrands - 1m

I don't want us to lose Enrique or Barton but as I said on an earlier post I don't know whether I'd rather they are hear to help this season and we get nothing for them, or we sell them now for something but have to replace them.

Geo

Agree1 Disagree0

Xisco won't be in the 25 man squad even if we don't get rid of him.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would never get rid of forster. his loan stats are quality. he his a huge keeper prone to the odd mistake that will disappear with age. definitely one for the future as keepers seem to be harder to come by.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with the above post, Forster, a couple of seasons from now could be an england international.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lufc have reserved smiths old no.17 lol I was chatting to nufc people on twitter they seem convinced he's staying as wages are such a problem...think cashless should get on with it pay his wages for a year and clear him off to lufc on loan you'd be paying for him to collect splinters til his contract finished anyway lol

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry guys I disagree with you, watched him at Celtic last year and not impressed. Doesn't use his size to his advantage and very poor communication.

Just my opinion and we have 2 good goalies already.

Geo

Agree0 Disagree0

Talking to my cousin celtic goalkeeper coach at the academy and he says that forster is not good enough for the prem, a good shot stopper but not enough precense in the box even though hes 6ft 7 although he thinks he can still mature

Anyone can see we need at least 3 players and he's talking about 1 or 2? Believable2 Unbelievable0

01 Aug 2011 09:56:33

01 Aug 2011 09:24:52
I think like most of those who were optimists at first and figured...sure lets give Ashley another chance, may he will actually do something good for the club my mind has totally changed. We can see now that he aint gonna do anything for the club at all, all he is interested in is lining his pockets. The squad lacks a lot of depth, and while I believe we have a decent squad (apart from a LB who actually wants to be here, and a pacy, technically sound striker...maybe even a CB for cover) I think the team spirit has totally been destroyed....good luck to Colo...he's gonna need it to captain the team this season, oh thats if FCB doesn't sell him before the window closes to buy himself a few more shares in Greggs.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Yeh i think what nolan has said about sums it up they promise players things then realise they cant forfill them its a joke the fans are some of the best in the world but the fact is the club management are a joke they are buisnessmen have no interest in the club the chairman is a spurs supporter why would he care how newcastle are doing and why would he pay his own money to buy in players for them when he can put it into his buisnesses to make money for himself newcastle is just another franchise to him.

Agree1 Disagree1

Don't hang yourself just yet, the season hasn't even started yet, judge what hes done this summer and where the squads at after a few games instead of writing us off before a ball is even kicked, Ashley has stabilised the club, and while he hasn't spent as much as we'd all like, 1. it's only the 1st august, judge after the window closes, 2. he's prevented us from doing a Leeds after the state the clubs finances were in, if we are bottom at christmas then by all means have a b***h and a moan, but until then STFU

I feel so sorry for cabaye, marveaux and abied. all moved from France to england, to find that our club is going completely the wrong direction they were told. bartons right, we may not be challenging for Europe this season, we may be fighting for this clubs future down at the bottom of the league. team spirit is low apparently, I remember the last time we had a sh*t team chemistry...08/09 season.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

01 Aug 2011 09:23:59
I am pretty sure Barton and Enrique will be with us this season. But before everyone thinks, Great There is more too it than that.

They are both sought after players, and rightly so with their technical abilities. So what's going to happen is they are both going to see out their contracts because they know, come next summer teams will be rubbin their hands together at getting them for 'free'.

Not completely 'free' though as there will be a substantial signing on fee to be payed that they will not get if they are sold this summer. Demba Ba probably cost us £2m although he was dubbed as a 'free' transfer. The same goes for Joey and Jose.

Ultimately it will be Newcastle who loses out. £5m for both players, so a loss of £10m and they only way we can avoid it is by offering them to clubs for silly money now.

I don't care about the friendly yesterday, doesnt mean nothing, but in terms of running a football club we ain't doin things right.

Why are people saying he expecting one person in. IN the interview he said 1 or 2 but 1 before the start of the season. There's still time after the start of the season. We've got 4 new signings plus Gosling and HBA back from long term injuries. We lost Nolan who wanted a 5 year contract cashing in on him was good business. I'm not Ashleys biggest fan but he setting the club up before the cash regulations FIFA are implementing come in next season. We're not gonna be pushing for europe but we're facing a relegation battle. I fully expect us to improve on last season.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

01 Aug 2011 04:48:53
I think with three more signings we could be in good shape for next season, LB, defensive cover and a striker. Personally the three I'd go for are
Warnock
Bassong
And 1 of the following Defoe/Edring/Sturridge (loan)
All should be in our price range and give us the chance to kick on this season. What you think Ed?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed042's Note - LB dependant on Enrique going.. still no bid.. if he does, personally would go with Ferguson at LB and bring in Miquel from Arsenal, can play CB or LB.. agree with bringing back Bassong too, very good defender for 4m.. and up front, disagree, Erding not good enough, Sturridge only a short term solution, and Defoe too old.. stump up for Shane Long and take a chance on Tetah Bangura, have said it all along}
