Newcastle have today been linked with Moussa sissokho. I think we should focus all our efforts on him after the debuchy deal is done, as personally, I think Douglas will be a bad signing for us. Sissohko on the other hand is a capped French international, and had been valued at 9 million which is within our price range.

Do U mean aly cissokho?

Agree1 Disagree2

Moussa Sissokho is a midfielder not a defender. We still need a quality cb and a youngster, Debuchy, a starting midfielder to play alongside tiote with cabaye in front, a winger to cover both wings and a young striker, I think.

Agree0 Disagree0

Aly cissokho is a LB anyway, so unless Santon is moved to RB is looks like neither of these will happen.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sissisko is a centre midfield player

{Ed022's Note - Hi all. I just wanted to notify you all that there has been a pretty hefty update to the Player Profiles website. This update now allows you, the fans, to upload your own profiles on any player, in any league, in any position. So, now rather than seeing just my own opinion on a player, you can now see other fans' opinions also on those players, as well as dropping a comment and giving your own. This update has taken a fair bit of time and I'm hoping that you'll all use it to the full etc, and just to come over to the site and have a look. - www.player-profiles.co.uk - thanks all.}

20 million to buy Carroll? Can't see Ashley doing it.

Carroll wanted to stay but was pushed out (Logically may i add) for the 35 Million. It was a lot of money and the right decision to sell but Carroll did not want to go.

Believable2 Unbelievable3

Carroll got greedy when he heard the offers in for him and DEMANDED a massive pay rise to make him clubs top earner. If he didnt want to go he didnt have to as he had JUST signed a new 5 yr contract. We have moved on to a better level of player so let him rot on Liverfools bench and frequent the pubs down merseyside. 20m? Lets tie Ba down and buy Moses for less.

Agree4 Disagree3

Got any proof he demanded a huge pay rise? He was in talks for a payrise because he was on pretty low wages at the time. Generally players who are doing well get a payrise, Is there something wrong with that or was Carroll supposed to play for less than he was worth? You do not underpay your own if anything you pay them more.

Agree1 Disagree2

As a contracted player Carroll would only have known about Liverpools offer of wages if Newcastle had informed him otherwise its illegal for them to tap him up.

Now tell me this, How did Carroll move on for more money if Newcastle had not told Carroll they had accepted a offer for him?

The club accept an offer before the player talks terms with the prospective club.

As Carroll has already stated he did not want to leave and was personally flown by Mike Ashleys helicopter to get him to liverpool to agree terms asap (The old joke about driving a player personally to another club to get money for them was actually literally happening here)

Tell me again how this means Carroll wanted to leave Newcastle?

Look at the facts before casting one of our own to one side and judging him, i think the lad deserves that from the clubs fans he confesses to love.

Agree2 Disagree3

Quite easy of said i,m not going....like shearer did when arsenal and middlesboro had made offers when he playing not so good just before sir bobby came.............

Andy Carrol was sitting outside the office when Ashley was having a conversation with Pardew with regards to the 25 million bid for Carrol, Ashley stated that there was no need to sell him if Pards wanted to keep him, Pards went outside, told Andy about the bid, Carrol said he wanted to stay but wanted more money, Pardew took it back to MA who said, he's just had a payrise he's not getting another one. Pards told Carrol who was sitting outside with his agent, Carrol said I want to stay but want more money, L'Pool upped their bid to 30 mill, same thing happens, they then upped their bid to 35 and Pardew said he can go. Carrol would have only stayed for money. How do I know this? One of the other lads in the room was a lad I went to school with, he's one of the men who finalise the fine details of contracts and he was there. Believe it or don't. Nothing I've just said is particularly unbleievable or shocking, that's how it happened, MA didn't need to sell him and made that clear, Pards didn't want to sell him until it becamce clear he was trying to hold the club to ransom. Speaks for itself really. I believe it because I know the lad who told me, I've known him since I was 9 years old. That is how Andy Carrol left NUFC.

Agree3 Disagree1

And another thing, Carrol wasn't playing particularly well, he wasn't playing bad but nothing like a 35 million player, only an person or Kenny Dalglish would think otherwise.

Agree1 Disagree0

Yeah sure he did have that right until he dived infront of the home fans, he lost whatever respect we have for him that afternoon.

Agree0 Disagree0

So its Carrolls fault that the club wanted to sell him and told him go?

Its Carrolls fault that he did not refuse to go when he was told to leave and make the club 35 million?

Let me know when you hear a popping sound. (It will be your head becoming unlodged from your backside)

Agree0 Disagree0

It does not make sense. If Carroll had just had a contract why were Newcastle holding contract talks with him?

If Ashley was not in the process of giving him improved terms there would have been no contract talks to be held.

Its pretty Simple, Carroll was contracted so why would Ashley or Pardew have to ask him if he wanted more money? If he has got a contract you do NOT need to ask him if he wants more money as its too late.

Here it is folks in black and white and about as simple as i can make it.

Carroll was contracted, A big offer came in and Newcastle accepted the offer.

Newcastle wanted 35m (Who wouldnt) so they told Carroll we have accepted the offer and we want you to leave, Newcastle told Carroll that he can make more money at Liverpool and it was best for everyone if he moved on.

Carroll at this point moved on because it was obvious he was not wanted and Newcastle & Liverpool were both dangling the carrott of more money for him to get him moved on, Liverpool wanted him and Newcastle didnt, Now is it a big surprise he moved on after that?

The Fact Andy Carroll has kept his mouth shut about it and shown willingness to come back i think speaks volumnes about his professional nature.

I do not see anyone criticising Keegan for leaving the club in the lurch when he WAS wanted but Carroll is the bad guy for allowing himself to be forced out of the Club when he WASNT wanted.

Surely you cannot be that dense.

Agree0 Disagree3

Carroll dived/fell over instead of scoring a goal against Newcastle. What on earth are you complaining about? Did you want him to score?

Facepalm.

Agree1 Disagree1

And the fact Krul would of been sent off if the pen had been given means nowt does it.

Did you watch Swansea last season?

What is so difficult to understand? Rodgers wants tiki taka football, Carroll cannot play that style of football.

You do not put a player like Duncan Ferguson in a team that plays with the ball on the deck.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Watching Swansea last season any striker wouldn't get a kick they never cross the half way line. Boring boring boring glad I'm not a Liverpool fan

I have to admit I am starting to panic about the lack of signings. The deals for Debuchy, Anita, Douglas and Carroll seem to be quite drawn out, unlike in previous windows where we've just suddenly signed players. Even if we sign these players we could still do with a few more promising youngsters to bulk out the squad. Also as much as I like Santon, I would still like a left-footed left back at the club.

Believable1 Unbelievable4

Tbh if we signed a LB santon can go RB if we sign a RB santon can stay LB?

Im not going to pretend i was at asda and bumped into an agent so dont worry not going to heqr that from me.
my question is .......... should we not try a bid for nzonzi from blackburn. something like 4-5 mill? even send gosling other way for the season. and think tht zlatan is at psg we should go for gamiero as half the price of carroll woth more chance of a sell on which suits Ashley.....B
