The Newcastle Council are a joke! how dare they tell a business who pay their rates they cant change their name? even Blooper Mac from The 3 Ledgends think Ashley owns the club therefore he can do what he likes. Its a disgrace also that some Jawdeeee person is defacing their own ground, Ashley should stop putting money into the club, errrrrrr, actually, when did he start?

Doesnt make sense. ^^^^^

Change the name of the stadium and place of business, I was trying to say. I wonder if Ashley will stop business and corporate concessions for the council now?

Haha another bite off a smb. You lot are playing the best football you have for years, on a great run of form, with one of the best managers around (according to yourselves), yet can you please tell me why there are so many empty seats at every home game? Thought this would be the right time to fill your stadium if you was ever going too, rather than just once a season when the toon roll up!
Agree3

To further comment on the statement above. The SCUM didn't fill the ground when we turned them over again at the Stadium of SHI**E. Worst support in the league. SMB.

I always take it as a good sign when the scum are criticising our attendance means they're scraping the barrle
Agree5

Not scraping the barrel just stating a fact that you are a poorly supported team. Scraping the barrel is when you say we are lucky for every win we get. SMB.

Very poor banter all they can say is empty seats jealousy is rife over the darkside

Brighton beat you. Got to keep reminding you SMBs of this. What is it we are jealous of? We a bigger club, better run, best support and above all way above you! So what exactly are we jealous of?

Come back when your in the cup again your s**t fans have done nothing for the club except moan for the last 5 years on your chairman and the name of your ground no major trophy for over half a century and plese dont say the mickey mouse cup in 1969 or i may have a giggle

The same cup that only 4 teams entered and have never been heard of since. It was really a MICKEY mouse cup, and its the last cup you won. You must be proud.
Agree1

At least are 's**t fans' as you put it, turn up to watch and support the team. Your forgetting a major point, which in turn WILL affect the spending power of most clubs over the coming years. With the financial fair play coming in, clubs will be relying more than ever on the fans to turn up and pay there money at the club. After tv money the biggest financial income into the club is from the fans pocket, and with half filled stadiums every other week, it's not a great situation to be in.

Sponsorship brings in more than gate receipts and ashleys sports direct isnt allowed so our contacts in the real world will help us no end
Agree1
Disagree0
Real Sponsorship, yes how true, not the owner putting his name all over the place like the Mags do and of course all the concerts Sunderland put on in the close season. Each one is usually a sell out and making the club a fortune! The Asda ground cant do this because the Metro Arena and the City Hall will go crying tot the council. Plus The council will not give Ashly an inch on anything now they have the MASSIVE falling out over the name. What other town council argue like this with their team? Its a wonder they still let Ashly use their ground.
Agree1
Disagree0
How much concert/events money do you think you get. The pitch is trashed so you will have to replace that. You have what 2/3 concerts. Wow we sell out every home game near enough so it laughs at your little concert fees which is distributed all over the place so you make very little. Our money goes back into the club. As for Metro Arena, its a purpose built arena for concerts not football that is why we don't sell our soul to X FACTOR. The concerts are the best thing that people see all years round at the Stadium of SH**E. SMB.

Real sponsorship? Do you mean the £10m we have just recieved off virgin media! Think before you post numpty!
Agree4
Disagree2
Town council? Sorry don't understand, always thought of Newcastle as a city!
As for the concerts, at least your able to fill your stadium, shame it's not in support of your football team though. If you think sold out concerts in the close season off sets the half full stadium you get every other week in the epl you are sadly mistaken my friend, and have a very poor understanding of football finance
Agree3
Disagree1
Virgin media took over from northern rock so its nothing extra really just usuall shirt sponsorship as everyone has its outside sponsors and excellent contacts you need . sunderland have them newcastle dont plus our stadium and grounds are owned by club not council
Agree0
Disagree2
Ye got nothing off virgin as they took over northern rock who already paid their sponsorship up front and then fat mike comes up with selling the name of the ground and saying can generate 2 to 3 million arsenal and chelsea looking at 25 mill for theirs and man city got 400mill for theirs thou that must have had something to do with reducing their rising debt
Agree0
Disagree1
Got nothing of Virgin? You really are grasping at straws. DO you really think Ashley would allow Virgin to have their name on our shirts for free. They paid £10 million for the right. As for naming rights . Ashley can call it SDA and put his money in the same as Man City do it and call it an outside sponsorship. Concentrate on filling your empty stadium with Justin Beiber fans for your little concerts. SMB.
Agree0

Wrong again smb. The northern rock deal expired, and it was replaced with virgin media for around 10m a year approximately
Agree0

It can reach up to £20 million over 2 years.
