fellow posters. We keep going on about how poor our defence is.
What alarms me as much is we have spent 50m and still don't have a single decent set piece specialist.
Who would you like to see the club go after to plug the problem.
Vida is it true we paid 12m for cabella and will offload for 6.5m.

i don't understand the cabella deal and I'm not excited by thauvin. As vida says swansea have the right idea, Ayew was the better option. if ashley was serious about challenging then we would be buying at least one proven premiership player.
Instead the club seem to be buying players who we will flog as soon as a profit is realised.

Ed 001. Seems to me that Ashley is investing like he said he would do at the end of the west ham game.

{Ed001's Note - do you think he is? Ok, I remain to be convinced personally. Are you happy with the transfer window then?}
19 Aug 2015 21:38:37
Happy yes. But time will tell whether it works out. I just seem to remember you said Ashley never said he would invest but it seems he has. and that's what I took from his tv interview.

{Ed001's Note - I said I never saw that not that he didn't say it.}

Invest is a bad word where ashley is concerned. At some point he will want to unlock the profit of his investments.

{Ed001's Note - I still question whether he has invested or just taken less out than normal. The club made a large profit in recent years, so is he investing, or is he simply allowing that large profit to be used by the club, rather than putting it into his back pocket?}

Lot more to it than meets the eye. Nothing spent from Ashley only what is in the club.Sales will recoup even that.

vida I agree there. it doesn't make sense for ashley to 'pocket' profit as half will go to the tax man. Better off investing the profit on assets that will increase in value and add further value to the club.
If Ashley is a businessman he must have an exit plan, sale or listing being his options.
Ashley doesn't need to spend any of his money on the club whilst it stays in the PL

50m soent less the offsets and CB to date ignored
Lecelles must have a lot to learn but a dynamhc DM instead of powder puff Anita
a CB LB & Striker like Austin could catapult
this team to the top 8
