Use our rumours form to send us newcastle transfer rumours.

18 Jun 2011 22:29:05
Isn't it strange that there has been nothing reported on N'Zogbia returning ed? {Ed001's Note - there has been nothing but speculation regarding a lot of players though, until deals are well underway. Sky no longer bother trying to find things out, they are too busy just trying to stir up betting markets with nonsensical speculation and baseless rumours. So it is left to Twitter and the like to do the actual research. No wonder clubs are able to keep things quiet nowadays.}

as a loyal toon im v happy with our new signings young french quality players but a little worried with lack of priemiership experience exept ba who i think will do great things. A player who i don't know cud we get is wigans hugo Rodellaga powerful, good in the air and has that flare we love, say an offer off about 12 M cud v tempting for both parties, maybe fellow columbian Tino Asprillas cud have a word ha! Would like to hear any thoughts

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I like him, but he doesn't score enough goals however, with a better quality of player, a better team he may score more. Also think he is slighly over priced

Agree2 Disagree0

Rodallega and N'Zogbia for 20 million, would be a class deal if you ask me!

(NufcSmith)

Agree2 Disagree1

I think rodellaga has done v well at wigan with no service bar from N Zogbia, i think he would be an out and out goal scorer for us, ya would def get a big thumbs up from me.

Agree2 Disagree2

What makes ye think his gonna get the service at sjp when ye top scorer who ye sold recently was from midfield

I'm on the train to London. Tiote on going to arsenal for talks.

Hmmm really beleive that one b#ll end! ! Like he would be on the bloody train going for talks. You ever heard of aeroplanes?

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Obviously a Sunderland fan posting this, probably hasn't heard of Aeroplanes. Sunderland hasn't got an airport!

Agree6 Disagree0

Exactly the muppet

Agree5 Disagree0

I'm surprised he'd heard of trains. They can nornally be found clogging up the back seats eating cheesy chips on the mega bus.

Would like an honest opinion how many people had heard of Marveaux until he signed this week?

Believable2 Unbelievable3

His name rang a bell but didn't realise we were after him till he signed.

Agree2 Disagree1

Quite a few people were talking about him around January about signing him when his contract ran out but then it went quiet as everyone thought he had signed a pre contract agreent with Liverpool.

Agree0 Disagree0

Never heard of him but then again I don't watch french football it sucks however I am aware that West Ham bid 3million for him in January. He seems a bit lightweight and fragile for the prem.

Agree2 Disagree0

Why were people talking about him when he hasn't played a match since november????

Agree1 Disagree0

Believe it or not he had played football before getting injured.

Agree1 Disagree1

Even pardew said most of our fans won't have heard of him but iv'e heard his canny good mike swears by him think his agent is dennis wise who also has cabaye and ba on his books

Tiote is not a train plane or any automobile! ! He's on holiday on an island with his family somewhere in the Pacific Ocean, please don't post crap, unless your a SMB, go away you horrible little thing, and use your own site! From what I've heard off my sources R. Keane is not signing! I know talks are ongoing bout Mr. Bellamy coming for min 6 months loan, watch this space, nobody seems to know anything bout C. Nogbia either, not saying he's not signing thou! There's a couple of well known names signing on 1st July, and def a big name striker very soon! This was meant to have been completed a couple of weeks ago but the player asked for time to think it over and to talk to some other players bout NUFC! Roll on 20th August and we will not get to know this season again, what song S.Bruce is going to play! Keep the faith, as the futures bright! EX TOON PLAYER.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

I've been hearing from my sources that N'Zog will be offered a contract in two/three weeks, he's with his family atm. We have had an offer acepted, sky sports think around 10Mil.

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't want keane or Bellamy at the toon. We have to move forward! I believe Tiote is staying as he must of had some influence in the recent French signings. SMB going to get another spanking, bring it on Mr. Bruce you SMB

Believable5 Unbelievable0

It was supposed to be erdinic (with an accented C) but coulld not have the wierd foreign symbol.

Purposely posted this on the banter page, any GOOD sources know anything about N'zogbia. The best ones i have heard is that he is in talks with Sunderland, Please reply with any RELIABLE information. Thanks

(NufcSmith)

Believable1 Unbelievable2

Doubt he is talks with Sunderland, he has no reason to join them. Newcastle will sign him, don't worry!

Agree1 Disagree2

And what happens if you don't, think you believe your own rumours, deluded SGB

Agree1 Disagree0

Reporter off talksport thinks he has more chance of signing for Sunderland than Screwcastle

Agree0 Disagree1

Nzogbia has refused to talk to Sunderland would love to come back to the toon, will sign next week with Defoe

Agree1 Disagree5

Oh a talksport reporter has an opinion it must be true then. lol

Last post on these dreamers sight, so a comment about how yot still woulda beat us 2-1 at home without Carrolls goal.Doubt it very much when it was he who won the free kick that Joey Barton hung up to the back post dot Carroll nod down for Nolan to open the scoring.Without Carroll you wouldn't of won that game never mind drawn it full stop. Can imagine headline in your local jam rag.Marveax chooses Utd over Liverpool when he chose money and only money and to be honest what a waste.I'm sure you'll miss my realistic insight but i'll be back when July opens and then see which team has got what players.Jonny Boy over and out.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Are you still upset that's like your 4th post today.

Okay then, see you later.

18 Jun 2011 18:05:44
Suarez overrated ha ha ha.Now i know your off your heads. He ripped you a new s**t box when we beat ya 3 nil.And how did you get on against the top 4 teams last season. We did double over Chelsea, won 1 lost 1 against ManU.same with City and were unbeatan against Arsenal.Ya only beat Arsenal away because Carroll did to them what Suarez did to you.Without checking i'd be suprised if ya took more then a point against the top 3.Bet Marveax never had a clue were Newcastle was or heard of any of there players.Gone for the money.Jonny Boy

Believable1 Unbelievable3

So how did you get on against West Ham then?

Agree6 Disagree0

We took a point off utd, 2 points of chelsea 4 points off arsenal, my maths this is 7 points loser

Agree0 Disagree1

At the end of the day you aint a top club. You are going for players that want to play for a top club playing champions leauge football an example of this is Young and Jones who chose Man U. Im not saying Sauarez isn't a good player but he is overated. If he was that good Chelsea, Man U / City Barca or Real Madrid would have been after him.

Agree0 Disagree1

1 point from top 4 lol we took 1 at man u 4 at arsenal and 2 at Chelsea stupid scouser. What's it like having a number 9 who was forced into joining u . King Kenny lol make me laugh

Agree1 Disagree1

Next season Pardew will take you down its what he does best.

I don't think we (Newcastle) is charles nzogbia's first choice, so i don't think we have agreed anything.

I think he prefers a move to Arsenal or Liverpool. . Firstly, then the mighty toon.

We will have to wait and see. .

Believable1 Unbelievable1

18 Jun 2011 18:04:38
With Marveaux we will just have to wait and see. Newcastle will train differently to Rennes and have better resources things like this can make a difference but we will have too see when the season is underway.

Ed1, did the Liverpool medical team flag up something with his groin that was serious enough for them to retract there offer of 60k a week to 40k and add ons for everygame he played.Knowing he was more then likely third choice once we've signed 2 wingers for cash he took the easy money.At 25 years old, he's played less then 150 games prob a lot less and scored about 20 goals or so.missed 72 games in last 2 seasons.A lucky escape because for us i'm sure ed1 could confirm this about his Liverpool medical.You make it out like he chose you over us.If we'd had offered him what you simple folk have he'd Liverpools 3rd choice winger and not there star signing like you lot are making him out to be.And let me point this out one more time.After add on's Henderson will cost 16 mil max, 13 up front then add ons.Ed1 am i right over the medical team at Liverpool seeing something with his groin they wasn't 100% happy with.Jonny Boy {Ed001's Note - I don't know the exact figures, but you are correct that the deal that had been on the table, which he was ready to sign, was retracted and a new one was offered with a lower basic wage. It might turn out to be a bit of luck for Newcastle or he could turn out to be as made of glass as Kieron Dyer. Only time will tell who got lucky.}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Well his groin must of been really bad , liverpools so called mediucal team signed a striker with a back to front knee for 35 mill

Agree1 Disagree0

Top players go to top clubs. Look at Jones and Young. Your having to pay stupid money to get players in. Your club is more of a laughing stock than us at the min, Sunderland fans would have taken 8 million for Henderson never mind 16. You maybe should have taken a chance on this lad he would have cost you nothing.

Agree0 Disagree2

The fact is no one knows exactly what the reasons were. But what gets me is the scousers kicking off saying that they didn't want him anyway. Well they did, otherwise they would not have offered him any contract. They did, he decided he didn't want it, and signed for us. Those are the facts, get over it.

Agree1 Disagree5

Hi Newcastle fans, I am not a newcastle fan myself, but like most English football fans, newcastle are my second time, an observation of mine
should Barton join Nolan out the door then I would not be surprised in the slightest if Craig Gardener, Charlie Adam, and a return of Scott Parker, all British, talented young (with the exception of Parker) dynamic midfielders, were looked at. just what you would need to replace the scouse duo, however I believe as an outlooker that Newcastle have a very good scouting system, and you may very well sign a relatively unknown centre midfielder. please post Ed

Believable1 Unbelievable2

I don't think Barton will leave unless we recieve a stupid offer for him. I think Newcastle will be happy to let him leave for free at the end of the season

Agree0 Disagree3

18 Jun 2011 17:16:39
Lets get one thing straight, Newcastle pipped nobody to Marveaux as Liverpool dropped interest when they realised that he had issues with injury which may manifest in future and wouldn't pay the extra money which he wanted, and you did.

Believable3 Unbelievable1

I think you will find we havent payed the extra money cause he wanted 60k and we have a wage cap of 50 so i think u will find we have just got a bargain

Agree0 Disagree3

Trouble is he is still injured and very injury prone has played only 102 games in 5 and half seasons in a nanby banby french league around 18 games a season doesn't make sense to me especially in the Premiership and cup were it could be over 50.

Agree1 Disagree0

He was a free and we can't be paying him huge wages becasue we have a wage cap. You should have taken a chance on him since everyone else is turning you down

Agree0 Disagree3

He is not injured he has been training since April but your right about the rest.

Agree0 Disagree3

He is still nursing a groin injury but he hopes to be up training by mid July when the first team are back from there holidays, apparantly he is supposed to be a long term signing with a key to the future lets just see in August if he figures reportedly on £50 k a week.

Agree1 Disagree0

However former French U21 international Marveaux hasn't kicked a ball since November 2010 after suffering a groin tear which required surgery to rectify - the third operation on the thigh/groin area that he's undergone in six years. The Rennes website reported that he resumed training in late April, but wasn't considered for a first team recall.?Ç ?Ç
Nufc.com

Agree1 Disagree0

Total crap you job dodgers wanted him then some thing showed up and you offered him 20k less do you seriuosly think the fat controller pays him 60k to come to us wen we have the likes of tiote on 10k a week and nolan was on 40k a week i bet we paying him 30k to 40k.

How many games as carrol played since november have a check mate and please inc the games he played not wormed your bench. .

Toon set for Marveaux coup Newcastle set to seal deal for winger. Didn't see this one coming mind. 5year deal on a Bosman free right under the bin dippers noses. I can hear Daglish's teeth grinding from here. Ha ha ha. Probably won't be signing Charlie boy now though?

LOL- these Newcastle fans make me sick! LFC is not a club running after free agents! signing players from relegated clubs anymore! Seen many toon fans are happy with Demba Ba, Marveux, Cabaye, Upson, & Nzogbia! Lol
Newcastle total transfer budget is what we gave for Carrol! Poor Club!
LFC signing top Quality going for the title next year! Don't try to mention King Kenny's name again!

Believable0 Unbelievable4

Going for the title try going for champions league at a push and the quality of players newcastle are bringing in are far superior to liverpool atm secondly im happy that we are spending a bit of carroll money theres enough of it anyway and im sure sunderland will as well lol

Agree1 Disagree1

And as for running after free agents i think you will find he was very close to joining u but couldnt agree personal terms

Agree0 Disagree1

Henderson for 20 million. He aint gonna win you any titles mate. You will be lucky if Carroll can stay fit and out of prison. Suarez is overated and you paid well over the odds. Any top players that do become available and want to come and play in the Prem will be going to the top 4.

Agree1 Disagree1

Cant belive we get called deluded when you have liverpool fans like this.
Mate your not a big club anymore and your wasting massive amounts of money on overrated british talent coz you can't attract any real big names(no champions league for you) where as we are on the up and signing talented young players but not ones who necessarily require a massive transfer fee. We have a very good scouting system.

Agree1 Disagree2

A good scouting system? Yeh right the same ones that sit and wait for the safc scouts to follow and watch what they are looking at.

Agree1 Disagree0

Howay then what players have Newcastle started scouting that Sunderland were scouting first?

Agree0 Disagree0

Yep yep yep we are a poor club with a wage cap and not spending but guess what we still turn up with the 3 rd highest supporters in the premiership behind the best team in premiership history mufc and arsenal and guess what we not 400 million in debt our debt is owned to the fat controller you spend another 50 million this window aswell as last window and still be 4th or 5th

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jun 2011 15:52:13
Proves my point how dumb you all are.Carroll scored 2 against City not 1.Always thought geordies can't count an that guy who said he scored one proves my theory. The only reason i came to lower my standards and look at this site was to see if you'd be crowing about getting Marveax, which you all are.He had enough of a defect in his groin for Liverpool to lower the wage they were going to offer him.So we could have had him if we wanted but your happy he's chosen you, second choice.I seem to remember yot fans nearly crying when Carroll was sold but now he's s**t according to you lot.Look how long the crocadile tears lasted when a great servant to Newt**ts Utd, not very long. And lastly you keep saying we paid 20mil for Henderson, more like 13 going up to 16 with add ons, and i bet were paying for Carroll in instalments so small it'll take 5 years before ya get all ya coin. And last but not least how come you haven't mentioned how we got ripped off for next years footballer of the year Luis Suarez were his value has doubled at least, prob more.Mid table muppets, always have been, except when Shearer took you down, the worst appointment of all time ha ha.Reckon you'll finish between Q.P.R and Blackburn if ya lucky.Jonny Boy

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Sorry but you are going on about us not being able to count 1 PERSON said it tell me how that makes up for all of us?

Agree0 Disagree0

Wow, that's some pent up rage right there. Your source for Marveaux's failed medical is what?? Your opinion?? Whereas the player himself and nufc said it had nothing to do with a medical.
Seriously mate chill out we're on a football gossip site and you're throwing a wobbly because a player you were supposedly getting has gone to a different team Suarez is a great player as is Carroll but 35m great no he has the same injury as woodgate when Carroll is fit and scoring 20+ a season we shall be humble but until then don't count your luck. Henderson for 20m is well . . . . .Laughable

Agree3 Disagree1

Haha firstly carroll scored 1 agaidnt u which is what we were on about secondly you gave us all the money for carroll upfront and there was a sell on clause as well secondly u paid 20 mil for henderson u can as daglish himself thirdly yeh suarez is a decent player but not player of the year i would easily rate tiote above him. Also why are u posting on our page taking out ur anger on us cause u realise how much liverpool have messed up in their tranfers so far also i bet we finish in the top 10 this season and get at least 4 points out of the 2 games agaisnt u lot. Also as for marveux being our second choice just look at carroll if u listened to what he said he wanted to stay at newcastle but was forced to move to you scum lol

Agree2 Disagree0

Who cares we got £50 million for Torres works for me.

Agree1 Disagree0

50 million for torres yer done well but add up what he cost yers and wages and sick pay and operations and treatment you, s paid for and you be even. money back i think but don't think carrol will score as many or as prolific as torres was for you, s when he played

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jun 2011 15:39:39
I don't understand why you post such a crap like Tiote will leave Newcastle. Tiote showed loyality to us once and i think he will go nowhere. Why wolud we sell him? He is the best DM in Premier league and if we want to win any trophy, we HAVE TO keep him there.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

Wont sell tiote unless it was for a massive figure. the lad is pure class and affordable on his 6 year contract so all secure and safe

Agree0 Disagree1

Liverpool are doing what we used to do years ago and spend big money on average players. We might not be spending big money but the players who we are signing sound like good up and coming players who want to play for our club.

Agree0 Disagree1

Yeah right your selling the players that want to play for your club and signing the players that don't care. Did Gosling sign because he wanted to play for you or did he sign because you offered more money than Everton? how did that work out for ya?

Agree1 Disagree0

In reference to the last comment you obviously no nothing about nufc and as far as gosling goes i think you'll find this season he will be fine

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jun 2011 15:34:30
Coloccini may be going to seville, but have not met the price tag newcastle want 7 m and are offering 5 m . think he will go ( the sun)

I hope Coloccini will get offer from Sevilla and accept it. I don't want to see him in Newcastle anymore. I don't understand, how can he be our best defender? I think we have S. Taylor and Williamson, there's a young lads like Kadar and Tavarnier and they have to get their chance to prove their worth. It's time to show what they learnt in those years at Newcastle.

Believable1 Unbelievable7

You been drinking? or are you a mackem?

18 Jun 2011 15:10:50
the only reason we would sell now is for a bit of cash for Ashley's pocket or if the player wants to leave which i think is only Jose Enrique. We still have a good 30 million. Why would we cash in on players? Also if Colo gets sold it would put a downer on me for a while, even if he is the top earner, hes worth it!

From the Scumderland page:
(Pained me to go on at first, but I thought I would see why they are always on here. Can understand. Its like reading the Beano!)

Sunderland are looking at Marlon Harewood, Emile Heskey, and Francis Jeffers as strikers for next season.

Midfield, Gibson will sign, N'Zogbia a no go.

Defence, Danny Gabbidon, and Woodgate are both on free transfers so will be looked at.

sb to raid west ham he wanted bemba ba but hes gone up the road. so hes back in for jon spector carlton cole .reilable source

Sunderland have had a 2.5m bid accepted for Jason Scotland. Apparently they are also ready to bid £3m for Jason Koumas. Expect Scotland at least, and possibly Koumas to sign by next week. You heard it here first.

ha haha. Quality! Psycho

Ye we overpaid for Carroll and Henderson but at least we spend money. When we stuffed you at Anfield it was that easy it i felt cheated because i thought it was gonna be competitive because of what you did to at home. But then i realised the player that did all the damage now plays for us ha ha.Never heard such a bunch of d***s who really belive that Marveax was stolen.Bet he's by far highest paid player at your cockney franchise for one reason only.FREE TRANSFER PS.In your heart of hearts. You'd take our owner over yours all day long. And i'm sure we got ripped off with Suarez as well eh ha ha.Jonny Boy

Believable0 Unbelievable1

Jonny Boy, you are weird.
If you think that over paying for players is the right thing for your manager/owner to be doing, then good luck to you. It is a strategy that we employed under our previous chairman, and that didn't work out all that well. If you perceive that spending 55 million on unproven players is a thing to be proud of then you scousers must be as proud as punch at the moment. I, on the other hand would prefer we sign players that are available, that fit in with a side we are building, whilst keeping as much of our cash in reserve for players that will really make a diffence to the side.

Col

Agree1 Disagree0

Yeh and im sure we got ripped off for tiote, ba, cabaye and marveux and the fact is how many goals did carroll score in the liverpool game yeh 1 i thought so secondly u do overpay for overated players and also i don't think u will se much of carroll will probs be injured most of the season im sure that him and gerrard will have become good pals sitting in the crowd watching u scousers get hammered by the top 4.

Agree0 Disagree0

Cheap insults, really? Can't you do any better than that?

If you really didn't care you wouldn't be on here coming up with that load of rubbish.

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't understand. If your not at all bothered about the lad choosing us over you, why have you come on here moaning about it so much? Psycho. oh, and can you move your caravan off me drive please.

Agree0 Disagree0

Funny he is they are overpriced you could sign 4 quality players with 55m. and henderson is so sh!te and the only youngster who i would spend 20m or more is jack rodwell.

Agree1 Disagree0

Whats he on

Agree0 Disagree0

Even if Carroll didn't score it still would of bin 2-1! !

Agree0 Disagree0

Suarez is class cannot denie that but come on man and 35 million for carroll i know he, s a geordie through and through but did we have your pants down or what. tell yer what adam johnson twice the player can play the same place and cheaper than henderson think them SMB had yer pants down too. .

even though alan pardwho has lost faith in ranger I still think we should loan him out to a champoniship club because his form could change and we could regret selling him

Believable2 Unbelievable3

It is possible we will regret selling him, however he has been given several chances to impress. He has also been warned about his attitude, and that although he thinks he's made it, he still has a lot to learn. These warnings appear to have fallen on deaf ears, and as a result has been put up for sale.
It could be that they are doing this to give him a kick up the backside, or it could be that they seriously want rid.
I don't mind either way, as i honestly think that he will never make it as a premier league striker. He isn't as good as he thinks he is, and is probably championship level at best.

18 Jun 2011 13:24:05
Arsenal v Newcastle could end up being mistaken for a Ligue 1 game if we keep going.

We've spent very little money in terms of transfer fees. I'm hoping for a BIG striker signing. . Hopefully not an injury-prone player.

With Newcastle signing Marveux do you think that's the end of any hopes to sign N'zogbia I personally feel now that with Liverpool losing/pulling out for Marveux he is bound to sign for them unless they sign someone like Downing what do you think ED? {Ed001's Note - I don't know to be honest, I was told a number of clubs agreed a fee for N'Zogbia, including Liverpool, a while back. But nothing more has come to light regarding it, so I am dubious of that being true.}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Makams & scousers fighting over Zoggy, but he still want to go back to the toon!

The chronicle is claiming Marveaux is coming in to compete with Jonas for LM maybe N'zogbia could be signed and played RM.

We'll never sign him now. .unless gutierrez leaves then their will be a small chance (NufcSmith)

fact reported from liverpool problem with marveaux medical but makes ye wonder why would liverpool go to sign him when they have been linked with downing and nzogbia left wingers just more of the rumours that make this site amazing to read also rumours they reckon the cockney mafia as they are called got dr legg in to do the medicals

1st time posted on here, not so much a rumour but more of an observation, this guy marveaux we just signed, he has played 106 games in the last 5 seasons. 21 games a year. no great is it. liverpool rejected him yesterday due to his groin problem. another kieran dyer i think. hope he proves me wrong because he does look class on youtube (then again dyer looked good sometimes) fingers croosed that the players keep coming and not the garbage we were buying last season (perch, best williamson) NUFC4LIFE

Believable1 Unbelievable2

I think this is a calculated risk by NUFC. Remember LFC were still willing to sign the player, just not for what the player wanted in wages.

Agree0 Disagree0

Marveaux only came to you because he DID fail his medical. I would be worried about your setup with transfers if two players failed medicals but passed yours.ywna.

Agree0 Disagree1

He said on an interview it was contract problems and he passed his medical! {Ed001's Note - he did pass his medical, there was a slight issue with a longstanding problem being flagged up. He had an operation that was supposed to have cured the problem earlier in the year, unfortunately the medical suggested that the problem is still there and he still has an issue which would reduce his playing time and cause recurring injuries. As such Liverpool withdrew the previous contract offer that had been on the table, instead they wanted one that gave him much higher appearance bonuses but a lowered basic wage. He refused and Newcastle jumped in with an offer that gave him the basic salary he wanted. So he never failed his medical but Newcastle also didn't steal him from under Liverpool's noses.}

Lets have it right muppets, you're willing to offer a player 60k a week who's missed 72, yes 72 games in the last 2 seasons. We, Liverpool were offered him 40k and some earlier post said he aint injury prone.Another free transfer for ya's eh.Put it this way he probably hadn't even heard of Newcastle till his agent told him Liverpool have rumbled us, but there's some club up that only signs free transfers. They must be laughing all the way to the bank you mugs.He never chose you for your status. No one outside the prem has heard of ya's i'm afraid. When the windows closed we'll see who's spent the most money on more quality players. Not picking up other teams scraps.Mugs.Jonny Boy

Believable0 Unbelievable0

We are the mugs what team payed £35 million for an alcoholic and £20 million for Henderson alot of Sunderland fans would of sold him for less than £10 million us and the mackems are joining together just to have one big laugh at you.

Agree3 Disagree1

35m for Carroll and 20m for Henderson shows who the MUGS ARE scouser, Dogleish really knows his stuff ha ha ha ha ha

Agree1 Disagree1

Jonny Boy.
Why are you posting on our rumour pages? Is it a case that you are fearing the worst, as King Kenny Dog Leash is spunking money up against the wall, and buying average UK based players for hugely inflated prices? Lets face things, LFC are in a similar position to us, in the fact we can no longer boast European football as a draw to our clubs. Whilst we have hit the bottom, and are now on the rise, you lot are on the slide. Kenny came in, and your side had the upsurge that occurs often when a new manager comes in. However, you have an average squad, with all of your best players on the decline.
Carroll will never complete a full season, and Henderson is s**te. Good luck this season, you will need it.

Agree0 Disagree1

The fact is we havent offered him 60 k cause we have a wage cap of 50 secondly we are bringing in better players than u r atm 20 mil for henderson hes worth about 5 same with carroll had a good half season and u pay 35 mil for him lol u fancy taking ameobi of us im sure u will pay at leat 10 mil lol and he did choose us because of the prestige of the club just look at the fan base and the average attendances liverpool are lacking a bit with the support and the theres just no fans that can rival the geordies the the pl espically the scousers just look at stevey g and carroll were both out for the majority of the season just think how much that is in wages u lot don't have a clue u pay at least double the price for most players.

Agree1 Disagree1

Couldnt agree with the above comment any mo! (WelshToon) lol 55m on a alcoholic crock and a average sum ball mackem

Agree1 Disagree1

I think IF and its a bif if Carroll can stay fit and out of jail he will turn out to be a very good player. Henderson on the other hand is very average as we are seeing in the under 21's. If my manager spent 20 million on a player like that id be sacking him.

Get it right mate, it was never Dalglish signing it was Comolli who wanted him. So you won't see Dalglish teeth grinding. He went for money plain and simple he rejected 40k a week so you must be offering 60k plus. He is a average player really. We have bigger fish to fry Cabaye and Demba Ba our really average too. . .good luck with him as he you will see him more on treatment table more than he will play. . . and bin dippers ha ha ha have you seen the state of your lot on GEORDIE SHORE I'd be ashamed ha .

Believable1 Unbelievable3

Im a sunderland fan and i won't lie they do look like good signings tbh

marveaux is an injury prone player why do we want him ? its reported liverpool offered him 40,000 a week but he wanted 60,000, i think pool have had a let off and pardew has f****d up again,

Believable4 Unbelievable2

Marveaux is not injury prone. He had a groin problem for 1 season, which he's now had the operation to fix.

Yeah that's 2 crocks in the bag oh well

The fact is hes a class player and will make a difference and pardew has made a good signing on a free as well.

Dont worry kenny dalghlish won't lose to much sleep over marveaux if liverpool really really wanted him they would of got him, newcastle offered him a mad contract and liverpool were a ware of that as his agent were hopeing liverpool would off offered more money again as we have better resourses but clearly they thought he was not worth it especially as he not much better than jovanovic who can hardly get a game so mags just remember if we wanted him that badly we would of got him, but i hope he has a good season for you's and hope you's do well, you deserve a good run best of luck.des

Second he goes elsewhere you spout this "remember mags if we wanted him that badly we would have got him" tosh 35m on a crock and 20m on a v average midfielder. Give it 6 months before "king" kenny under performs and you call for his head

Im as excited as anyone with these signings, no doubt marveux is quality, cabaye undoubtedly and ba will score goals given the service, but i can't help thinking were taking a huge gamble with these players. Losing proven prem quality players (albeit the outgoing players probs werent/arent top 7 players) replacing them with players who might not settle and may even be upset with the weather when winter rolls around. Then theres injury records, marveux has ongoing issues with his groin, imagine ben arfa, gosling, marveux and ba all have a breakdown at crucial points of the season, oh dear. Were no further forward in my opinion, we don't seem to be strengthening rather replacing and that to me is a huge gamble. On the bright side, 3 international players in and not a penny spent yet, plenty dosh left for a couple of good goal scorers. :) Pd.

Toon set for Marveaux coup Newcastlesetto seal deal for winger. Didn't see this one coming mind. 5year deal on a Bosman free right under the bin dippers noses. I can hear Daglish's teeth grinding from here. Ha ha ha. Probably won't be signing Charlieboy now though?
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Unfortunately Daglish's teeth won't be grinding as Marveaux failed a medical with LFC yesterday or Wednesday. I do wonder what's wrong with him to be knocked back by Kenny on a free as well. 100% true, just look at the Liverpool rumour site!

Believable1 Unbelievable1

Look at Marveaux's interview he said he didn't fail medical there was problems with the contract he was offered. Get it RIGHT!

A quote from Sylvain Marveaux:

"I do not want to go into details, but I did not sign for Liverpool because there was a contractual disagreement between the parties Thursday night, " he confirmed to L'Equipe.

This tells me a) He must be a good player if Liverpool genuinely wanted him. b) Maybe it wasn't a medical problem c) We were his second choice. But ah well, it's nice to steal a player under the noses of a big club.

Believable1 Unbelievable2

He wanted £60,000, whilst Liverpool offered £40,000 with appearances, goals, assists went up to £60,000. Newcastle offered £60,000 straight up and the deal was done.

Agree0 Disagree1

Those protesters aren't acting disgracefully, they're acting like big-club supporters who have yet to lose all resistance. Unlike Newcastle fans, who seem so battered by Mike Ashley they long ago realised that revolt was futile.

If any group should be unfurling threatening banners it's the Toon Army because once again Ashley has kicked their heads in just when they felt it was time to hold them high.

If you had to pick the players who've been a credit to the Geordie cause since they were relegated two years ago you'd go for Kevin Nolan and Joey Barton. They stayed when others fled. They provided the character and the fight that took Ashley's club back to the Premier League and kept them there, in a season when manager Chris Hughton and star striker Andy Carroll, were moved on.

And just as fans thought Alan Pardew might be using Carroll's £35million to build a solid squad Ashley gelignites the foundations.

Barton and Nolan are told they won't be rewarded with a decent long-term contract and can move on if they wish. Even though Pardew had said his main priority this summer was keeping hold of them. The same Pardew who assured fans in January when Carroll was sold that "all the money would be invested in the team."

And what does that investment amount to so far? Three kids with 10 first-team appearances between them given contract extensions, and the promise of a handful of cheap buys like Yohan Cabaye.

Meanwhile as Joey Barton pointed out, lamenting the loss of Nolan ("club captain, top scorer, heartbeat of team, loved the place, loved by the people") he, Jose Enrique and Jonas Gutierrez could be next out of the door.

Nolan says he dropped a division with West Ham because "the club actually wanted me and the owners put faith in me by giving me a security of contract."

So why didn't Newcastle? Beause he's too old? He's still 28 and just played the best season of his career.

Because they won't break their wage structure? Nolan wasn't asking the earth, just the going rate for a captain whose performaces had Pardew demanding to know, two months ago, why he wasn't in the England squad.

Far from seeing the good that Nolan and Barton have done for Newcastle, Ashley views them as a pair of senior shop stewards who have the audacity to question his methods.

Methods like pushing through a cost-cutting business model which dictates that when your best and most senior players ask for a bit too long on their contract sack them and look for cheaper, younger replacements.

A model which is about as ludicrous as the image of Joey Barton publically slamming it while wearing a top hat and tails at Ascot.

A model that may well see Nolan waving at Newcastle next May as he passes them on his way back up to a league they've just dropped out of.

Daily Mirror columnist this morning!

Believable1 Unbelievable1

Why are people suddenly making Barton out to be some kind of saint? He was awful, and acted in a disgraceful manner during his first season, refused a pay cut when he went to prison. And now he's played 1 good season everyone is championing him? Sure, he's a good player. But don't kid yourself, Barton stayed because nobody else would have touched him with a 10 foot pole when we went down.

Dont know too much about this Sylvain Marvauex, but he only played 10 games last season for Rennes and is reported to have failed his medical at Liverpool. He has not played since November.

From Clickliverpool 19:18 17/06/2011

Sylvain Marveaux's move to Liverpool could be jeopardy after he reportedly failed his medical.

Reports in France claim that the 25-year-old's free transfer from Rennes has been thrown into serious doubt after the groin problem which brought his final season with the Ligue 1 outfit to an abrupt end in November last year, prompted the Reds to halt the deal.
