Use our rumours form to send us newcastle transfer rumours.

Our season has been decimated by injuries and a total lack of forward planning by the powers that be during the summer months. These are dark days for the Toon and the current squad is ill equipped to fight a relagation battle. Kevin Keegan was faced with a similar situation when we were on the brink of the old third division and he pulled off a master stroke in signing "Killer" Kilcline. Pardew and Ashley need to draw inspiration from that signing and purchase their own "Killer" signings. Whilst going against current policy the following three signings would ensure our survival and add backbone to the squad in preparation for next season
Hangeland
Samba
Llorente ( Ath Bilboa)

Love 1 of these ch, but llorente we've no chance surely {Ed003's Note - No chance at all,forget it}

Agree1 Disagree0

What I don't understand is we new from start of season we were short of depth only brought in Anita ! Other we're for devolpment squard ( pardews words ! ) so we have had over six months to work on targets, ch ec we new a possibility ba would go, where is the planning ? Half way through window and these areas till not addressed . WHY ? Targets could of Ben lined up . Penny pinching waiting to last second for cheapest option, we will end up with nobody, AGAIN ! Stop taking the piss out of the fans Ashley enough is enough .

Agree0 Disagree0

It's players and their agents who are waiting to pick the best offer. You can't make a transfer happen if the player thinks he's good enough for Chelsea, Citeh or Man U. Look at the history - nearly 90% of deals happen in the last two or three days.

Nancy player Massadio Haidara must be some defender they are bottom of league

Believable6 Unbelievable1

No offence mate but that's a stupid point you have made just cause their bottom of the league does not rest completley on his shoulders he's actually a very good young prospect I watch a lot of the french league.

Agree3 Disagree2

So why do you slag Sunderland off for buying players from relegated teams ? Double standard tastic Geordies as usual !

Agree1 Disagree2

Because safc buy defenders that's 135 years old and you claim because they have winners medals they are top notch....nothing to do with a team that makes average look real good.....k

Agree2 Disagree1

Good young prospects are not what we need at this moment in time

we need some experienced proven players especially at CB, CF and someone in CM who can compliment / cover Cabye

Agree1 Disagree1

Because sunderland are 2 nd rate and deserve ti be slagged off

Agree0 Disagree1

You say you watch a lot of French football ... Where ? Never on the box (occ on euro sport ) unless you live there your talking shxx {Ed001's Note - it is on ESPN regularly, at least 2 games a week, probably more, it is terrible so I have never bothered with checking.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes, that makes coloccini, saylor, raylor and the likes rubbish because they got relegated.

Not a rumour, just a point of view but i've got to be honest and say the idea of signing Danny Graham doesn't exactly thrill me. At the age of 27 he's pretty much at his peak years and yet for me hasnt done enough to warrant the clamour I read on here for his signature at Newcastle. The argument that he'll be a great signing as he's from the North-east does little for me either!

Just an opinion and i'm by no means saying that he could be the answer to out prayers but was wondering if it would be worth a punt on Charlie Austin, ideally along with another more experienced striker. He's only 23 years old yet has made a step up in leagues every couple of years or so and has produced so far an impressive record (173 goals in 264 games). Not sure if its someone Newcastle are looking at?

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Actually, I really rate Austin and I would also like Hooper.

If we don't win tomorrow its over we will go ddown ! Each day looks bleaker ashley is turning us into a joke ! If we don't win tomorrow the club needs to know we arent going to put up with this anymore !

Glad to see people aren't losing their heads so far...

Im pleased you are not the manager

Agree1 Disagree0

We could go own very true, two things to think of . 1 = are there 3 teams worse than us and the league ? 2= can we be as bad second half of season as first ? If we are that would give us 42 points, be enough to stay up, just . My answer to both are 1= yes 2= no . What do ya think ?

SH*TE ANOTHER REPLACEMENT NEEDED.

I just want to make a point.
Its hardly likely that we'll be relegated, because there are at least 3 teams worse than us. I know we do need more signings but if we didn't make any more, this would be the squad when everyone's fit
----------------Krul----------------
Debuchy Saylor Coloccini Santon
That back line and goalkeeper is at least top 10 defence. One of the best for a while for us.
------Cabaye-Tiote-Jonas---------
At least top 7 midfield there. That 3 men in the midfield were quality last season, get them back on form and we will start picking up results.
-----Ben Arfa-Cisse-Marveaux---
That is a top 6 attack. Clinical on the counter, get them on form and we'll be scoring a lot more goals.
So with a few more signings, imagine this.....
----------------------Krul------------------
Debuchy-Yanga-Mbiwa-Coloccini-Santon
------------Cabaye-----Tiote--------------
---------------S De Jong-------------------
-----Ben Arfa----Cisse----Aubameyang--
A squad like that, with like 2 or 3 wins in a row could easily turn around our season and immediately become contenders for 7th 8th position. People who think we'll get relegated, shut it. Be positive and keep our heads up, take it by game by game and we can perform a miracle. I'm itching for ben arfa to be fit again because he will be top 4 quality in the 433 RW and will tear defences apart.
Just look back at a few results that may should of got something out of:
Arsenal 7-3 newcastle, with debuchy and saylor we wouldn't of conceded as many goals as that and would of closed the margain or got a point. If we had ben arfa we would defo of drawn or possibly win. With cabaye, it would of been a massive boost.
Man you 4-3 newcastle: if we had debuchy, saylor, hba, cabaye I reckon we could of won it.
Teams for reading?
krul, Debuchy, Saylor, Coloccini, Santon, Cabaye, Anita, Jonas, Obertan, Cisse, marveaux

The two most successful teams in Premier League are Man you and Man see this season. Both teams have four centre forwards in their squad. At Present we have Cisse and Sh Ameobi.

If we don't win tomorrow we are in a relagation battle and soon form required to stay up will be top 4 form. We must be buy either two strikers and one centre back (two if Colo leaves) by transfer window or atleast one striker and attacking midfielder who scores goals.

Why are we not looking at Aspas of see Vigo around 10mil and Siem De jong (attacking midfielder who knows how to score goals) araound 10mil.

We need a centre back for today so I know it's against our policy of over 27 year olds. But I would go for Haagaland Commanding centre half doesn't miss many games with injury (unlike staylor) and bags of premiership quality. I would pay upto 5mil because if we stay up it will pay for itself and he's good for three years.

If we can keep Col until end of season I would like to see us go for Sakho or Ajax centre back Toby Alderweield.

25 -30 mil investment now will more than pay for itself (if it hasn't all ready with the profits on previous sales) by staying in premier league and also increased payments kicking in next season.

It will also give us a squad with a bit more depth which will allow the younger squad players to develope without being thrown into the first team to soon.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

I agree with you, however I am more concerned about the CB issues than up front. Unless we get at least 1 CB we are in trouble as Collo's situation is not helpful even if he stays. So for me if Newcastle get a CB (qaulity) + People come back from injury, we should have enough to keep us up. Then we clearly need to sort out who is staying or going in the summer so next year we can start a season with a sqaud of players that WANT to play for us

At the moment I would be quite pleased if we were to sign a cb and a striker, don't need midfielders, but if anyone's to leave we need to replace them with more quality; don't think anyone will leave though

So depressing guys get a grip!

We have had bad season so far and yes we need two players CB and ST. But injuries have killed us. Last year we kept so many clean sheets tommorow should have a back line of Krul, Santon, Colo, Taylor, Debuchy. First time this season we have had best defence possible out. We have missed Cabaye passing and HBA creativity. We play a 4-3-3 formation can play that with marveaux HBA and Cisse so we need another forward player. I'd like to see Danny Graham as cover for Cisse and sign a relentless tireless player like Shane Long. I was gutted when we didn't sign him and WBA go him. Hopefully we can get another CB over the line because m. willo costs too many fouls. 3 players we will shoot up league. 2 and we will do well. None. We will stay up. 3-0 against Reading and relegation fears eased
