People - we need to lay off Obertan. I've never seen a player start to play better when their own support start getting on their case, have you?

He's only a kid (22?) and he's getting better and more confident - so don't ruin it. Yesterday he ran down a few blind alleys and made some wrong decisions but he was our main threat in the first half.

We probably won't see the finished article until at least next season and right now what he needs is time on the pitch and support from the fans - remember we're supposed to be "supporters".

DomW {Ed001's Note - Laurent Blanc said he lacked mental strength when United bought him, apparently his confidence is fragile, so you make a great point.}

should of won the game in the first half,but what can you do when they park the bus infront of goal,the second half was screaming out for ben arfa,then in the end we just ran out of ideas. why is he putting like for like on (shola for best)when clearly it wasnt working second half ????

Ive said it a couple of times AP is useless with subs, good managers see a game slipping away and change things AP waits too late sometimes or baffles me with his choice

Agree1 Disagree0

Ive been impressed by Pardew so far but yeah got to agree some of his decisions baffle me too.
Yesterday we were crying out for someone creative like Ben Arfa yet he doesnt even bring him off the bench.
Also hate when managers leave their subs too late, why not have a bit of bottle and actually try to change things to win the match, especially when your at home to swansea(no disrespect to them).

Agree0 Disagree0

Ben arfa has had a little niggle that's why he's not been used. Pardew will start him against WBA mark my words

Agree0 Disagree0

How do you know he had a little niggle? Havent heard anything about this.

Agree1 Disagree0

He didn't have a niggle Pardew has explained why he wasn't used.

Agree0 Disagree1

Pardew is hardly gonna let the press know is he. This has been kept close to the camp to avoid a media frenzy about how 'ben arfa is crooked again'. The lad has has had a horrific injury it will take time to get him back properly with the odd setback inevitable. Pardew and the medical time are doing a very good job managing him

Agree1 Disagree0

If he was crocked he wouldn't be on the bench.

Agree0 Disagree0

There's a difference between being crocked and not 100% fit. If he wasn't 100% fit then pardew did right leaving him on the bench

Agree0 Disagree0

Thought ben arfa was supposed to be brilliant? the new messi, told you he was average, sessegnon miles better than him

Agree0 Disagree0

Sessegnon hasn't had his leg broken in two places as well as getting a infection after surgery.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sessegnon already realised what a mistake he made joining the smb's, wants out of that sh!t hole already. He ain't fit to lace Benny boys boots!

Look i am disappointed in only getting a point today as well, but some of the posts on player performances are well off the mark. And frankly make it seem as if we don't know what we are talking about as fans.

Obertan i will agree has not dazzled by any stretch of the imagination since his arrival, but he was a threat going forward in the first half and worked hard in defence on the wing in front of Perch. Speaking of Perch, i don't rate him, but to blame him for our draw is comical (he isn't a curse, just not starting material).

As for Ben Arfa i too would like to see more of him, but i can only assume he isn't in the team for two reasons. Firstly the reason he is not deployed as a winger, is his work rate defensively is poor and our fullbacks (Perch) need help. Secondly, why Pardew prefers Best and Ba vs Ba and Ben Arfa has something to do with out full backs as well i believe. Best and Ba supply two large targets for the defence to cross long ball too (always giving them an easy out) something Ben Arfa doesn't obviously.

I thought today our midfield was a little over run (second half), and at times we could have benefited from 3 in the middle. Perhaps thats where we could play Ben Arfa, but he would still need to press the ball up the pitch, even if he left the work in his own half to the other two.

All in all two points dropped, but headed in the right direction again. Hoping for 3 points this week.

Ed is Cabaye suspended (Yellow cards) for the next game? missed the game today, but he is not available for my fantasy league thats why i ask. {Ed001's Note - I believe so, unless I am mistaken, his booking today has triggered an automatic one game ban.}
