Ashley has increased his shares to 20% with Rangers.

Not sure what to make of it, could it mean he's slowly preparing to buy the club if they get back into the CL?

You don't take a 20% stake in a company unless you are positioning yourself for a takeover.

He has a habit of buying once popular brands ie Sondico and firetrap (Newcastle and Rangers) and ripping the guts out of them!

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed is it possible for Ashley to own both Rangers and Newcastle?

Agree0 Disagree0

JT man city own new york and melbourne so I'd imagine Ashley could own both although there could be a problem if the clubs met in a uefa comp?

{Ed001's Note - sorry, my mistake, I clicked submit, rather than Eds Note, when I went to type a reply, then didn't get a chance to find the post on the page to reply to it there. He can own more than one club, yes.}

Matija Nastasic has been told he can leave City, would anyone take him? Wages would be stumbling block thought and Arsenal are also interested.

Also Scott Sinclair has been offered to us who is apparently one of Pardew's "favourite" players.

Means nothin m8

We don't need sinclair Nastasic would be good

Hi guys. I was at the game yesterday and have to agree with SpireToon I thought Janmat was poor but it was his first game in the prem. I'm not sure if anyone agrees with this but I think if we're going to play two defence minded full backs and 2 holding midfielders we need more out wide. I think Cabella looks promising down one side but Guffran doesn't really offer anything going forward. I think we either need to play Arons or maybe look at bringing Ben Arfa back. If we rely to much on Cabella he will just get marked out of games.

Gouff works his nuts off but is not a goal threat or a creator would love to see Aarons get a run in the side. Riveire did OK but if we had Remy leading the attack yesterday then I think we could have got something out of the game. Actually if we had the Cisse that first arrived we would have got something out of the game.

One minor technicality - From the MoTD camera angle I'd say Perez' shot WAS on target until deflected. Makes no difference, but some people think stats are important.

Lots of good things yesterday, Janmaat was IMO our worst player but the 2 of the 3 glaring problems we are all highlighted were there to see, no new strong decisive CB to stop the little errors that cost goals and a lack of a striker that will get 15/20 goals a season. A lot to like about Riviere but I think he will do well to make it into double figures.
Overall we played some lovely football at times but the name of the game is to score goals and win matches and as harsh as it sounds we failed on both counts.

Spire Get some glasses Janmast on one leg
is our best FB First game he dud well Very well

I think de jong will give Rivierre a bit more support, a 4 4 2 system will work well with this squad.

The observations were fair, we gave a good account of ourselves but minor mistakes get punished at this level.

On yesterdays viewing the Collback, Sissoko combo worked ok. Williamson and Collo were ok but switch off to often. Both Man city goals were preventable.

cabella, perez and aarons look good prospects.

We looked solid and were never over run by city so a 7/10 from me.

Agree0 Disagree0

Art, he is our ONLY RB!!
So he was not at fault for the first goal then, he did track Silva bursting into the box therefore stopping him scoring a simple and crucial first goal??

Agree0 Disagree0

The lad spent the day covering for defenders out of position
The guy is the best RB we have had
fir a long time

Agree0 Disagree0

Desee did you see Swansea Southampton Palace We need get someone who can score goals and NOW

Agree0 Disagree0

Art, I'd agree he is the best full back we have had for ages but that is not my point, my point is though that he was our worst player yesterday and was a major factor in the first goal which was crucial.

Agree0 Disagree0

Give rivierre a chance he was against possibly the best defence in Prem, he was on his own and it was his first game

Agree0 Disagree0

I must have been at a different game Why because he was bearn by a good player it happens man
Williamson & Collo stood and watched

Janmatt has to cover both of these and he does not know that yet and expects
soneine to cover him

Talk about critical then talk about Obertan
