Doesnt every one who says we should be playing 433 feel stupid now. First half we were awful, ba comes on, 442 and theres a madlssive improvement. Ok the ge was a lot more open amd we could have got caned, but in the end its a good result
It wasnt the 433 that done us first half. It was the fact that noone knew what they where doing! Players who are usually calm on the ball making stupid passes, chasing all over the pitch and out of position most of the first half. It was crazy. Marveaux had a terrible game and wanted to play to forward instead of the tracking about and swicthing that we need. We play well in a 433 when we switch around and revert back to a 451 quickly.
Though Santon had a superb game tonight, that guy is turning out to be real class. Anita too once he went to RB was much better, and Perch had a better 2nd half in the middle. Maybe it was just Anitas experience that dealt with Baines better.
All in all, 2nd half was a great game of football! If we were at full strength would have been different - missing some core layers like Tiote and Colo, and even Simpson, though we should carry on with Anita there I think and see how it works out. Harper looked a bit rusty too but thats expected.
I liked how angry pardew was in the post match interview on sky though!
I agree that I'm glad to see Pardew's unhappy with the way the team performed in the 1st half because that's been a problem in every game this season. We put in a shoddy first half performance and only get our arses into gear as soon as the manager lights a fire underneath them! If we can start playing the whole 90 like we play the 2nd 45, we'll do well this season.
Moving Anita and Jonas to the right and bringing Ba on is what changed the game.

Possibly the most ridiculous thing I've ever read on this site, he was playing on the right hand side and up against one of the best attacking LB˜s in football.
Marveux is a really good footballer, hes had nearly 2 years out, give him a break for gods sake, if any1 isnt good enuff its obertan, plenty of chances and nowt has come of him
