why Im looking at 7th place in the league.....we play 19 teams twice and ive divided them into 2......top 6 of man utd, man city, liverpool, spurs, arsenal and chelsea where we dont expect any points ( its a bonus if we do)............bottom14 we play 13 teams twice thats 78 points.......so how are we doing! from top teams we already have 2 bonus points (great) from bottom teams we have 14 points from 6 games ( brilliant),,,,,If we can carry on like this we will get about 60 points from bottom teams and about 6 points from top teams thats 66 points......bloody hell we have finished 4th.......I know Im a very sad person but I love the Toon

Nice stats man , your almost as sad as me.

If only it was that simple. As you've pointed out, we've already taken two points from those top six sides, but we've also drawn with the likes of QPR.

There will be plenty of swings and roundabouts between now and the end of the season. Absolutely incredible start though - no complaints so far!

Tbh, we were the better side against tottenham, we marked bale out the game, but as it's put we can easily slip up to the lower teams.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah I keep getting ribbed at work that you have to loose sometime and that... I hope we don;t loose this year... imagine the odds on Toon unbeaten in9 games? Imagine again the odds of toon unbeaten until Jan!! got to be worth a quid at least!

What a bunch of pathetic dreamers. You're gonna plummet in the second half of the season. You're another Blackpool. Go on admit it, you're s**t scared. Pardew is renowned for taking clubs down.

Agree0 Disagree3

Haha. Stupid Mackem. We're going to have to do a fair bit of plummeting if your sad lot are ever going to catch up to us. What is it? Six points from eight games now?

Agree3 Disagree0

Cant believe how well sunderland are doing thought they would be 2nd bottom by now

Mackem here, but got to give you lot credit you looked good against tottenham, krul saved you but also colocini should of scored at the other end. we were unlucky against arsenal away, played well, just think some of your fans saying we won't get another 10 points this season are lunatics.

Believable5 Unbelievable0

Not at all interested what a SMB has to say on our team. Just concentrate on watching your side slide into oblivion again!

Agree5 Disagree6

Sorry but unless you get rid of Bruce it's not going to be a good season for you's if he's playing Sessegnon as a lone striker he has to play Gardner a midfielder that will make runs into the box and who can shoot from distance but no Bruce doesn't have a clue.

Agree4 Disagree0

Nice to hear one geordie being civil unlike the other pathetic moron, I dare say 80-85% of the sunderland fans want bruce out, his tactics are ridiculous and his excuses are old. I think he has the bolton game and if we don't get anything there he will be sacked. but you lot did look good against tottenham, the game could of went either way, krul was good again but colocini needs a taxi for that miss as does cattermole for his miss against arsenal. you should beat wigan but honestly don't think you will keep this level of consistency up but who knows.

Agree5 Disagree1

Thanks Bruce is on thin ice but I don't expect us to keep this up the real test come when we do get beat to see how the players come back but we are definitely doing something right as our senior, reserve and u18 teams are unbeating I'll still be happy with top 10 aslong as we progress from last season. My mates a Sunderland season ticket holder and after every game he goes to he's always pissed off from Bruces tactics and selection.

Agree2 Disagree0

As long as you keep bruce things arnt going to get any better, dont know who would want to come to the stadium of sh**e if you lot sack him, personally i hope you keep him.

Agree2 Disagree5

O'neill as he is a boyhood sunderland fan, he also supported celtic as a kid aswell. bruce has till the bolton game then short will act and sack him if we lose, personally think sunderland have already made contact with o'neill

Agree5 Disagree2

Apparently Quinn is in talks with O'Leary

Agree0 Disagree2

O'leary oh deary nuff said.

Regardless of how everyone feels about individuals and if they played well... Obertan, Simmo ex, it was a good result, wish we nicked three but good none the less.
That being said the one fault I have with Pardew at the moment (over all I think he's done very well), is he needs to rotate his starting 11 better. Get more players involved in the winning, from the kick off. Not dramatic changes, just swapping in a player here and there once and a while.
The team is happy and playing well (or seem to be now), but the guys on the bench with skill like Ben Afra, Marveaux, Gosling need to be involved in that as well.
Remember we are going to lose Tiote and ba for a while this year, and we'll need those players to be on the same page and speed as the guys they are replacing.
I know we don't have a high priced side like ManCity, ManU or Chelsea, but we need to rotate players more like they do to keep the whole team winning and happy.

The Wigan game will be a perfect opportunity to do this, if not there most of the guys mentioned will likely start the cup game vs Blackburn.

As a sunderland fan ye might not agree with this but in all honesty why should pardew change a team who seem to be playing well together know each others strengths and weaknesses like i said on here after coming away from the sol when you beat us 1 0 the difference in the teams were the managers pardew knows his best team at the moment bruce hasn't got a clue and as for tactical desicions pardew wins hands down. without any suspensions or injuries to ye main players in tiote and cabaye i think newcastle will prove a hard side to beat a thing i could see happening at sol but not with bruce as our manager good luck lads ye deserve it well done pardew
one gary rowell

Agree3 Disagree0

You can't really blame Pardew for sticking to the same tactics. They might be a bit obvious but they've worked so far. Agreed that it would be good to see a bit of rotation. I'm interested to see how Marveaux - Ben Arfa - Ba would work together.

Agree1 Disagree0

I think we should drop simo and oba and play ryan taylor at rb and then jonas on the right. then play santon at lb and give marveaux a bash on the wing. HBA up top with Ba.. who is class btw.
