So our manager leaves us meaning the club get £3m ish in compensation, we take weeks allegedly looking for a new manager and then appoint a nice bloke who loves the club but is simply not a manager till the end of the season. The players have heard his voice and his tactics as assistant for the last 3 odd years so no surprise when the team continue on in the same dull, boring, apathetic and usually losing manner. Then Sunderland sack their manager and within 24 hours replace him with a world renowned, experienced, successful coach till the end of the season. Although short of players we send 5 out on loan to Rangers and when Santon is fit for the first time this season send him to Italy so predictably we get injuries/suspensions and our already shaky defence gets worse and our already woeful attacking play becomes more woeful. Sunderland invest in a proven PL striker. Only time will tell whether Ashley or Short got it right but there is every chance we will lose our next 5 fixtures by which time confidence will be even lower and the games against Leicester/West Brom and QPR become massive 6 pointers. We already have a -14 goal difference and by the time we go to Leicester it will be much worse. We are 66/1 to go down and with our run of fixtures it would not surprise me if we do so I am lumping on.

Nothing is going to change, has been like this for years now and no supporters have the balls to try and get things changed.

Only way things will improve is if a multi-millionaire appears out of thin air and offers Ashley double what the club is worth.

A new manager/coach can only do so much but if the owner has no pride and ambition we are stuck in this position.

Perhaps another 5 to 10 years of this before Ashley gets board and sells. We could well be a championship mid-table side by then so something needs to be done quickly before it's too late.
