Is anyone else getting a little fed up of people coming on here and saying people should open their eyes/see sense/wise up about current set-up and buying players?

We KNOW the board is useless, AP a bit useless etc. etc.

But let us believe. Let us hope we can at least get some decent players in.

And even if you believe we won't sign anyone decent, let us suspend belief for a moment on a TRANSFER RUMOURS SITE and at least have some fun on here! It's what it's about.

I know how you feel, but this is simply reality not negativity.

The only way the fans will be lifted is if we make a marquee signing or a very good start to the season.

I can't remember the last time we made a marquee signing that excited the fans, only Cabaye but let's be honest, a lot of fans had never heard of him.

Ashley is the cancer at Newcastle, and unless he sells or changes the negativity will continue.

Newcastle were once every one's second team, we were once in the same bracket as Everton spurs and villa, and we are just an average club now.

Interesting article in the Daily Mirror that says that once our end of year financial results are announced on 30th June that we could be sitting on a cash surplus if £60m if we do not spend anything on players before then.
A question for you all: Would you be happy for Ashley to pocket this to have the debt owed to him halved with a view to him selling for a realistic price or would you rather he spent most of this to improve the team but it meant his exit was further away?
Save = Ashley goes sooner
Spend = Ashley stays longer

As for me I'd rather he spent £60m to get Grenier, Cabella, Lacazette, PEA and Caulker.

That's a very hard question spire, if Ashley went, who's to say we won't get an owner just as bad. So I'd probably rather spend £60m on the likes of cabella, Grenier, Lacazette, PEA and caulker

Do you know Newcastle have a ceiling on 10m spend & that accounts for the
2 players Charnley spoke about that's why all the pussy footing is going on
Transfers out May possibly increase that
but don't hold your breath

Where do you get that figure from Art?

quote off Bafetimi Gomis I want to move to a club with history and culture its not about money. so what now Gomis is holding talks with SHANGHAI SHENHUA over a surprise switch a team in china ffs What history have they got ( the great wall of china ) not about money did'nt Drogba go over there for something like 300 grand a week? ( he did'nt last long over there did he ) our next target Pierre-Michel-Lasogga it seems like Hamburg have emerged as front runners to sign him they have offered 6m euros plus a player (SKJELBRED ) in exchange. so what does our team of ( highly paid ) negotiators do OFFER PEANUTS no wonder we can't get players to sign looks like we are in for a long hard season

I'm really not that bothered about gomis, he's average and we need more pace. Never seen Lassoga play, he's got a good record but he just seems like a poacher from what i've heard he can't take the ball down and he can't out pace defenders.

PEA and Lacazette SHOULD be our main targets for strikers

I'm with you JT. Maybe the board are going back to the days when we knew nothing until players had signed like Cisse?

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe spire, wouldn't really complain especially if we finish 5th ;)

I'm not sure about this German kid we are trying to sign, You Tube normally makes players look like world beaters but he just looks OK to me. He can't be that good when Germany have gone to the WC with only a 35 year Old Klose as a recognised striker. Has anyone actually seen him play that can give a better opinion?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Exactly the same as my opinion on Lassoga spire.

{Ed002's Note - Hertha Berlin's Pierre-Michel Lasogga as been the subject of offers from both Hamburg and Newcastle. Interest from Wolfsburg has moved on. Hertha would like the player to agree a new deal.}
