just wondering if the three new players will be cabaye, saylor and ben arfa, I can hear pardew saying its like having 3 newplayers with them been fit on feb 1st, after another disasterous window.
ive turned into a pessimist so I don't get suicidal when the window shuts

Believable3 Unbelievable0

There will be no more signings during this window. Pardew will have to get on with what he's got.

Newcastle will finalise deals for, Bong-Austin-Douglas and Gomis. Newcastle will also sign Ben Foster for £3, 500,000

Tim krul will join Ac milan for £13, 00,000 And Santon will go to them in the summer for £6,000,000.Mick the squid

Believable0 Unbelievable5

Santon is worth £10m now. much better than when he came here.

Agree1 Disagree1

Krul and Santon going no where even if daft money came in and Gomis has said he is waiting until the summer.

Can the people who keep posting comments that Ashley doesn't care if we get relegated just stop! You're embarrassing yourself with your childishness and ignorance.

If we get relegated, Ashley loses a MASSIVE amount of income despite the parachute payments (TV revenue is enormous next season in the Premier League) and the club will also lose £50+ million in value to potential buyers if we're in the championship.

If you need an example of the risks that owners are prepared to take to safeguard Premiership survival, just look at the money Fernandes has gambled on Remy! Its desperate!

Believable2 Unbelievable2

Difference is ashley still won't spend money, despite the massive tv revenues because he is tight as. personally I would rather be in some dept and win things (man utd) than be in the black and get ZERO enjoyment from watching my team. because they're so poor because there is no investment.

Agree2 Disagree0

What about squandering loads of money and not winning anything (Newcastle Utd)?

Agree1 Disagree0

Agree with second poster, he doesn't want to drive the club into the ground financially, I think we will sign players this window they just won't be household names. with maybe a shrewd deal fitting in somewhere.

Agree1 Disagree0

So just to understand what your saying, we should spend loads of money be in debt and run the club into the ground. Sounds like a great idea. I have supported Newcastle for 30 years and Ashley is for once trying to do what's right for the club and himself as it works both ways. To say Ashley doesn't care is personic and foolish. Its very clear that if we get relegated he would loose millions! He has a policy for transfers, just like Arsenal do. Going out and spending beyond your means is stupid. I agree its frustrating that we have only signed one player, however players coming in have to be right for the club. People like you probably thought Owen was a good signing

Agree1 Disagree2

Maybe I didn't make it clear in the first post: I'm saying Fernandes is reckless and is risking QPRs future. I don't condone that and I don't wish Ashley to follow suit.

What I'm saying is that given the potential financial loss, its childish to suggest that Ashley doesn't care if we get relegated. He'd lose more than anyone and no matter how little you think he cares about NUFC as a club, he definitely cares about it as a business.

My guess is he'll be prepared to sanction some January buys (maybe at quite high transfer prices) but he won't commit the club to an enormous wage bill or losses on older players that will have no resale value. Club policy will probably be maintained. However, as always with this policy, its always possible that we'll fail to sign anyone of note due to competition from more reckless owners or unwillingness to sell.

Agree0 Disagree0

So what if you've supported nufc for 30 years? I bet you had no complaints about our spending in the keegan and robson days. and playing the Michael owen card with hindsight on your side isn't exactly impressive. Let me guess you wer SO concerned about the clubs financial stability once we had signed him...

17 Jan 2013 22:13:50
Right, I hope this could happen. But if we don't bring in another 2 signings, preferably a CB and ST and hopefully more, but if we don't, I want some one and his group of friends on this site to go to a home game. And go on a campaign, maybe hold up a big banner, saying something like this:
ASHLEY + LLAMBIAS=NO TROPHIES, NO SUCCESS, NO AMBITION, WE WANT SOMEONE WHO CARES AND WILL GIVE
Please Ashley and llambias, just leave and sell the club to someone who actually wants to run a football club and someone who will give anything to give us success.
Geordie Moses, another week passes by like waiting for your train at London underground

Believable2 Unbelievable0

I don't understand, why don't you take the banner? Apart from that its a ridiculous idea and will achieve nothing.

Agree1 Disagree2

Coz I live in the south so I can't go up to that many games
geordie moses

Agree0 Disagree0

Bloke in Australia just found a giant nugget and here's another one! Amazing coincidence! Ashley has tried repeatedly to sell NUFC, hired agents to scour the world for a buyer - nobody wants the club. We're stuck with him, your silly banner will achieve precisely nothing. So grow up, live with it and wait for the last few days of the window, when everything takes off. (It would be interesting to know what deals have actually been comleted, apart from Debuchy, Remy and some kid from Fulham called Kelly.)

Another wasted week gone by ! Only two more left and you won't have to rubbish us anymore pardew and co !!

Believable4 Unbelievable0

This sort of post makes me despair. I'll say it again, in small words that you can understand. The best players hold out for offers from the high-paying clubs, right until the last few days of the window. Their agents tell them to do this. Second-best players also hope for offers from big clubs. Third-best players ie young prospects and established players that we can afford are at the back end of the queue and may be willing to come to EPL clubs near the bottom of the table. We have no chance of signing top players. We have next-to-no chance of signing second-best. Our signings (if any) will come late in the window, but, I believe, WILL come, just not the stars you hope for.

Graham says he wants move up to NE. Said in past he'd never play for Sunderland, obviously not dropping down to Boro- he wants Newcastle move. Won't have huge, silly wage demands, not a star name but I like him and he'll wear the shirt with pride, deserves a chance I feel. Ball in clubs court now..

Colo expected to go. List as long as arm of players linked to come in at CB- Douglas, Tomkins and almost any damn French player under the age of 25... Okore would be a very good signing and although not directly linked Baysse (Brest) would be too imo.

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Seems like we are just plucking names out of fresh air to me

Agree5 Disagree0

We (as a group of fans) are thinking logically about players that would be good for us and realistic, Christ knows what the management are doing... Perhaps they have a suggestion box?

Agree2 Disagree0

For 4m ish, i'd take him. better option to bring on from the bench than the ameobi's (sammy needs some loan time) and ranger.

haway lads forget him who signed for qpr (forgot name already) lets be positive not negative remember ashley doesn't want to go down lost to much cash last time. i'm sure they will be a suprise sooner or later.

Believable6 Unbelievable1

The only surprise you're going to get is when you realise that Ashley doesn't care one bit about going down as long as he is making money for himself in whatever way he can.
Have you not sussed this out YET?

Agree4 Disagree2

And its about time you realised ashley makes a lot more money from his other buisness than from nufc...if it was purely money he could just FLOAT again

Agree1 Disagree1

Exactly - it's just a bit of gambling fun for Ashley with a few quid coming his way (from Transfers out and TV money) to spice things up.
Guy doesn't give a stuff about this club.

Been a nufc fan for over 40 years and I hate it at moment. Is there anything positive ever to say about the toon, always remember me grandad saying it's black and white son! Never expect too much. will always sooner or later dash your hopes . How right he was! I won't change but still hate it.

Believable5 Unbelievable0

I've been a Toon fan for over 60 years and it has always brought nowt but heartache.
Those who think Ashley may change that are in cloud cuckoo land.

Agree4 Disagree0

If it's brought nowt but heartache then you wouldn't support the Toon, buck up and show them your love.

Agree2 Disagree2

Feel better now ! But by Christ it's hard being black and white ! We are special though for all those reasons ! We are also a clutin for punishment . We don't ask much ? Will I see us win something in my time on earth ? 49, only 6 when we won fairs cup ! That's ridiculous !

is ashley doing the right thing keeping players wages down. because the higher the wage the more you have to pay to get in to watch ( £62 some charge ) somethings got to give. the game is getting out of hand. its obvious when fans can't afford to go anymore. the game will fold pure greed from players fa should cap wages to £20.000 per game

Believable10 Unbelievable0

If you're not going to show players that you want them with money (completely agree with all your points by the way), then you need to show that you really want their services and will pay them back with success. That's what we're not doing.

Agree2 Disagree0

It's all bad news ! Lets lighten the mood, past good and bad times that stick in your mind ? I remember kk debut outside gallowgate at 930 sat morning to make sure got in, still never openend gates till 130 ! P****d myself 3 times dare not move !

Agree1 Disagree0

Problem is... if the English FA put a salary cap in place, our league (the best in the world) would fail to attract the world's best players as it has done. If this was to happen, which I wish it would, it would have to be a worldwide thing that FIFA but in place. Let's not forget that its not just our country in which this is happening - football as a global industry is heading down a slippery slope and its got to end. I think the only way to do this is for the fans to make a stand together and join up as a footballing community to protest and stop this ridiculousness. Obviously it's never going to happen though... we're all just going to carry on slogging it away at work every day in order to watch the team we love (me included!) But hey ho... what can ya do!

Newcastle are defiantly signing two more players this window

(Either way you're probably wrong).

This might be me being cynical, but one day we are toild that we are looking at a left back and a goalkeeper to add to our paper thin squad. Then the next day it is reported that AC Milan are looking at Santon and Krul. Is this what we have become under MC.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Did any of the things you were "told" come from Nufc?
Clearly you don't follow the rule of not believing half of what is written in papers and disregarding the other half.

Agree2 Disagree0

Fair and honest first question I think. Weren't we just 'told' recently by the press that Remy was wanting to talk to QPR and that Ba was looking to join Chelsea?
Don't tell me that you weren't excited when the papers first said we were actually getting Debuchy.
How do you know which half of the reports to 'disregard'?

awfully quiet today on NUFC transfer front could something be happening incoming today/tomorrow?....

Believable2 Unbelievable3

Is it just me or is Pardew the biggest hypocrite out there? The other day he said we were looking to sign more then 3 players and now he says 1 or 2 players. Doesn't he understand that we have the thinnest squad in the league and that we desperately need to sign two strikers, two CB and a midfielder to get some depth. This club is run patheticly at the moment and I have never been more dissapointed at the club. Pardew is really the puppet everyone claims him to be.

Agree6 Disagree1

We been waiting for another ch for a year now !! They even said it ! Why has it not happened its crap !

Agree3 Disagree0

You can always tell when Pardew is lying - he opens his mouth.
The guy either has a bad memory or the comments he makes are strictly off the top of his head - or Ashley's.
They both treat Toon fans with disdain and contempt. How much longer are we all going to put up with it?

Agree1 Disagree0

Pardew may be a puppet but he does show the fans some odd kind of respect by acknowledging how much we do for the team. MA on the other hand wouldn't wee on us if we were on fire.

Hello all. Just been on tv website- hoping for something, anything to start happening in the way of incomings.
What I found though is San Lonrenzo setting a deadline for Colo to sign for them. Who the hell do they think they are? They want a player who is contracted to a club but can't pay but can demand an answer. This stinks. Sneider isn't happy at inter. Lets demand they let him come to us due to personal problems. It can't be done. Don't get me wrong I feel for Co.o but the way San Lorenzo are handling this is a disgrace to the game. You can't afford a player, you can't have him.
Mike

Believable7 Unbelievable1

Totally agree. They say they'll give him a good contract but can't pay for the player! If he wants to go so bad tell him to take a fraction of the contract they're offering and use the money leftover to BUY him off us!

Agree4 Disagree0

I agree.
Ed - could this be seen as tapping up by Fifa? It's disgraceful to say, "we want him, but we can't afford him, so he has to cancel his contract and we'll make him a good offer"
Not that SL will be able to pay any fine Fifa may impose if this is seen as tapping up. But it's disgraceful the way they are acting. {Ed001's Note - it is unlikely to be considered tapping up.}

What do people think bout Dries Martens? Would be so happy to see him come in, guy has real skills. Would also be great for Free kicks on goal. Might be a bit expensive but that's how it goes for players with quality. Thoughts?

Believable7 Unbelievable0

I could do a better job than both ameobis

Agree0 Disagree0

Dries martens is a class act better than hba if we could only spend some big cash and get him before some big club ie cl not Mickey Mouse qpr move for him this lad has excellent potential to be a world beater good value for money + good for Ashley cause he could triple his ££

Agree2 Disagree1

Yeah i think its time to leave france and maybe look at the dutch league, there should be no problem spending a bit more if its going to bring in a better quality player with skill we need. I know people say look what we spent on owen and what he did for us but, nothing, but we can't be scared to spend on quality.

Agree3 Disagree0

Anybody will do !

Agree1 Disagree1

I've had to say this before, Mertens is absolute quality - but he isn't quite at HBA's level. We haven't had a player that technically gifted in a LONG time. However I'd give my left nut to get him in, absolutely fantastic player and would do some serious damage as an inside winger on our weak left side.

17 Jan 2013 08:18:03
