great to have the rumours going again. its been very quiet recently

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Fully agree its always better when its busier

Agree0 Disagree0

I wonder where zeus is

Agree0 Disagree0

JToon we are doing too well, he can't disagree with everything now

Agree0 Disagree0

Still skulking around, unfortunately JT, but daren't post since he predicted a disastrous spell back in October. He'll crawl out from under his stone eventually, under another name, suggesting we sign James Tomkins.

Agree0 Disagree0

Did Zeus not predict 25 points by Xmas
Thing is from what I read he said it as it is. We have people on here advocating new names for mangers every week and new players in abundance.
Well there is only a few weeks to go and we will see exactly where we are and how the team can finish so Asley will be happy 10th. Is that really what we want.

Personally I can see 4 clubs below us right now finishing above us even by virtue they are scrapping for points and of course something we have been lucky with so far injuries kicking in.
We were completely outclassed by Swansea and players like Shelvey and Huddlestone of Hull and McCarthy of Everton would have been great buys

Agree0 Disagree0

Credit where it's due, Art, he did. At the time we had 7 or 8 points and he was also forecasting a disastrous Oct. I asked him where he thought the required points might come from but he bottled out and hasn't been heard from since. Meanwhile his Mackem's have slid further, much further behind.

People who I want us too sign and have been rumoured some stage:
GK-Back up keeper or if Krul is taken someone like Forster will do.

DEFENCE-Thomas Vermaelen (Dont think we will get him. )

MIDFIELD-Matters If Cabaye Leaves, Ryan Gauld would be good replacement

WINGERS-Andre Ayew 1st choice, Ince 2nd choice and Zaha 3rd choice

STRIKER-Luuk De Jong and REMY both permanent please.

Another good young midfielder is Omar Abdulrahman who plays in UAE and has mad skills.

What are your thoughts and improvements?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

GK: Pierrick Cros.
DF: not needed until Summer.
MF: Yoann Gourcuff replacement for Cabaye.
Winger: Zaha (loan) or Ince.
FW: Finnbogason.

Sell:
Elliot
Obertan
Cisse

Loan out:
Campbell
Streete

Agree0 Disagree0

GK: Jamal Blackman - has one year remaining on his contract at chelsea and looks a good prospect.
DF: Kurt Zouma - Always been my favourite top prospect
MF: Mousa Dembele/Anderson as replacement for cabaye
Winger: Zaha (Loan) Ince
FW: Remy, Luuk De Jong

Agree0 Disagree0

You all don't rate Vermaelen?

Agree0 Disagree0

People I want loaning out:
Remi Streete
Adam Campbell
And maybe Adam Armstrong

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd rather have someone young tbh mate

Agree0 Disagree0

But defenders are good in their 30's. Vlad Chirichedps would be nice but is probs £20m

Agree0 Disagree0

Will Hughes would be expensive but still a good investment IMO.

Agree0 Disagree0

Clément Grenier of Lyon looks a good player, can pass, create and take set pieces.
Would go for Will Hughes over Ince and Zaha.

Could keep pulling all sorts of names out the hat that I would like to see at newcastle but no point.

All the top team play 3 in CM with wingers and a lone striker.

We need to base our squad around that formation. Look what happened playing 442 against Swansea compared to 451 against Man U.

We need more creativity from CM. Cabeye is the only player who can pass. Although Tiote isn't playing bad at the moment he still get caught too far forward and then commits bad tackles trying to get back. Needs to sit deeper like mikel of Chelsea so he is always then attacking the ball. But you don't need to be a great tackler to play defensive midfield. Look at Verratti at PSG. Not a good tackler but is so good with the ball and controls the play from CM. He would be a star buy for me but he is 20-30 mil price range.

Greek Press Olympiakos striker had no interest in
signing for Newcastle after reading about Ashley
and Kinnear

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Not surprised but I'm not that bothered anyway

Agree0 Disagree0

He is a good striker but I haven't found this anywhere I wouldn't rule it out but I still doubt it

Agree0 Disagree0

Doubt any player in the Greek leagues would reject a lucrative move to the premiership, regardless of the club, owner, manager or DoF.

Agree0 Disagree0

What would he be called though by JFK

Agree0 Disagree0

Toonmat look a bit further. It is ther in Black and White he will n ot sign for NUFC
Striker is a priority for NUFC but unless GC is allowed to find an up and coming young hungry player at Ashley's price we will n ot get one until the Summer BUT as we all know we don't buy in the summer.
As usual no one knows waht goes on at Newcastle United.

What Do people think of Luuk De Jong?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I'd be happy with one of either De Jong, Cheick Diabate or Alfred Finnbogason.

Agree0 Disagree0

De Jong would be my favourite he is class and strong and would be a great partner for REMY

Agree0 Disagree0

Luuk De Jong turned us down for Borussia Mönchengladbach, so like Remy we should give him a chance for redemption. I see Siem De Jong as an ideal replacement for Cabaye too. Ayew is also a target but I guess club would go for Ince for that winger position.

just my thoughts.

Agree0 Disagree0

IToon I don't think siem de Jong is a good replacement for cabaye if he did leave. I'd prefer Anderson or dembele, even someone like Manuel Fernandes could do a job

Agree0 Disagree0

De jong just doesn't strike me as a player who can give us flair and creativity

Agree0 Disagree0

I like De Jong, he is unlucky in Germany and is a good strong young striker

Agree0 Disagree0

Check Diabate isn't prolific enough for me.
