First question: Why do some Newcastle fans expect us to be top 5 every year? If anyone uses the saying we are a big club, can they explain what they mean by it.

Second question: I read alot of people on this sight wany Pardew to go, so if he goes, who realistically would take over?

Believable1 Unbelievable4

We dont expext to be in top 5 every year,,we hope to be..........I read a few people say Pardew out not a lot of people and I look at this sight everyday

Agree2 Disagree0

We have always been a big club, we've had big names playing for us, shearer, king kev, ginola, lee, bellamy, top 6 is our rightful place. You can't just say that finishing mid table this season doesn't matter because we finished 5th last season. We have to get that 5th place consecutively. Mid table is not good enough, unless we never finished 5th, if we had some billioniare owner, we'd be challenging top 4 every season, that's how it should be.

Agree2 Disagree3

Mr pardew has got to earn his corn and make some big decisions leaking to many goals put santon at right back , ferguson left back go 433 perch Anita toite ba marveux bigramini need pace in the team Jonas has to go no end product if signings are to be ade need done early doors

Agree2 Disagree0

Wish people would stop saying play ferguson! What's he done? When he's had a chance been awful, weak, too small. Not good enough needs to be out on loan

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes but unlike danny simpson he can cross the ball. Simpson is a better defender, ferguson a better attacker and can dribble with pace.

re questions; I think all the fans want is for the club to always be doing its best finishing fifth with new players and a new manager was great but we all want the team to do its best and be consistant. Buying no players and taking on another competition with 3 centre backs who are injuryprone was our downfall. We cannot hope they stay fit especially when the funds are there to improve or strengthen an already good team. More Competition= Greater Motivation= Stronger Team Spirit= Better results

(of course this is not guarunteed but proven) just look at norwich and swansea who have lost players and managers.

Lucio has had his contract terminated by Juve, he would be incredible beside Colo and would not cost Ashley a bean in transfer fees. I hope Graham Carr puts this suggestion forward.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

Agree he is a class defender, but I don't think he's got the legs for premier league, we need a cb with pace to keep up with the attackers

Agree4 Disagree0

I agree with both posts! He would be class, but not sure he has the legs. However, he may. Would rather get Lescott on loan tbh.

Agree0 Disagree0

He has a brain so his legs aren't so important. Williamson has neither

Agree1 Disagree0

Isnt he a good age?

Ok boys and girls, enough doom and gloom - we'll have a whole season for that if we get relegated.

Lets have a bit of fun with some daft speculation first!

So here it is:

1). Balotelli on loan in January (or buy for £10-12m). On the plus side, he's clearly talented and very young, - maybe Pardew can take him under his wing (like Ben Arfa). On the minus side, he's utterly barmy and would probably disrupt the dressing room. Thoughts? (Yes, I know its not likely but lets have a bit of fun for a change).

2) Ba to Arsenal and Theo Walcott coming the other way. Plenty of pace and we could offer him a place as a striker. Would suit us because he can play in other positions too and lets face it, he's a nice lad an all. Wages probably an issue but then again, Arsenal don't pay too highly either... thoughts?

Come on, its silly season and we'll get linked to much more unlikely players than these by papers who are trying to be serious, so switch off your disbelief reflex and go with it.

I totally agree with what shearer said, ashley is to blame for. Maybe pardew is but he's not a top 4 manager. it shows just how much ashley knows about football-nothing. If ashley knew quite a bit, he would of spent in the summer, but no. its like when you tell someone who doesn't follow football, liverpool bought a player for 35million. They'd completely be against it and it's the same with ashley (sort of). The max amount he will spend, is 10mil. Now that is not enough, to be a top 4 club. Because ashley knows very little about football, from finishing 5th last season, he thinks that if we keep are best players, we can finish 5th the next season without having to improve. Apparently shearer asked for 20mil to spend in the summer after we got relegated, which i think is perfectly alright but no, ashley thought it was too much and appointed hughton. To be a top 4 club, we cannot have ashley and llambias as our owners. For me, pardews speciality is not attractive, attacking football but king kev's is. spurs is a prime example of what we should of done. They finished 4th last season and spent 52mil on 6 players because they wanted to improve and had ambition. On july 11th 2012, an owner called Jamal Al kazemi, part of the kuwait family (notts forest owner's brother or something) said that he was seriously considering buying newcastle, now i was so annoyed that it didn't go through, although i hope it does in the future.

If this happened, we would be in a title challenge within 4-6 years: Ashley sells the club to some quatarian billionaire owner and we get 50mil to spend each summer, sack pardew appoint king kev.

Believable3 Unbelievable7

King kev.... haha move on.... we will be fine... euro n FA Cup run to semi's or 1/4.. mid table finish then push on next season. one thing i think of ashley he does seem to learn by his mistakes. honestly we all jumped on the 5th place bandwagon. injuries have been our hamstring this season

Agree1 Disagree4

You think like ashley no wonder he does not give a F...k

Alan Pardew has cancelled the club's Christmas party this year as he feels they "have not done enough" this season to warrant a festive celebration.

I was starting to have my doubts about Pardew but I respect him for doing this, atleast we know the Gaffer is as concerned and angry as the fans are.

Believable3 Unbelievable2

Big deal unless he gets them on the training ground and sorts out our defending, i cringe every time we have a free kick or corner against us....in fact i cringe when we get a corner or free kick

I think after the way we played against citeh we will stay up in the second half we played well, hopefully we will sign a RB and a CB as mentioned before Simpson and Willo aren't doing to good this season. Hopefully sign Debuchy and a decent CB and maybe a cm or a striker

I COME IN PEACE! I'm a gooner, and have no idea if we're interested in Ba, but if we are what is he like from people who watch him week in week out. Strengths and weaknesses? Genuine answers would be very much appreciated. Thanks

Just look at the leading goal scores chart, bad point not loyal

Agree3 Disagree2

Ba can be a bit of a mixed bag, he was by far our worst player in the 2nd half of last season, he could not string 2 passes together.

Ba is very selfish and needs everyone pulling their weight around him to supply him, so long as you have 10 men all behind the ball supplying Ba then he will get goals, you just have to question do you want your whole team playing to set up one player. (A trend Lambert is changing at Villa and is paying off)

I am hoping the 9 inch pin in his leg does not put Arsenal off and he gets moved on, Cisse is our number 9 and will start scoring when the Selfish Ba is off the pitch (Cisse is much more professional with the ball at his feet), also Ba leaving will mean we get a replacement so we will be better off without him.

Expect Ba to come to Arsenal and be unable to keep up with the quick passing football, he will then complain the rest of the time and run his contract down.

Agree1 Disagree2

First touch is normally quite poor and when he does control it he tries the same turn virtually every time usually ending on his ass but put him in front of goal and he's pretty damn clinical.personally don't care too much if he goes so long as we've got someone else lined up to replace him

Demba is loyal, he said on twitter " I look at the stands and i think wow wat an atmosphere". He's a great player, a complete striker, the only bad thing iS that he's got a dodgy knee that could easily end his career in a click. He wants 90k a week, but it may just be his agent taking control of him

how can anyone say Ba is not loyal. what warrents this attitude towards him.not once has a derogative word about the toon come from his mouth. Look at his twitter page especially when hes away with senegal.. always commenting to his mates about the toon army and how he misses newcastle.

Agree1 Disagree0

Thankyou for your replies. Flybo

Ba Loyal? He got benched for one game (Everton) and the next thing his agent is in the press threatening the club, pretty much making it clear that is Ba is not selected for every game he is gone.

I could see the point of doing something like that if it was a regular occurence, but Ba and his agent were taking advantage of the situation because Ba came of the bench in that game and scored 2 goals... if you read between the lines he was trying to rub a few peoples noses in it.

Agree0 Disagree0

How much loyalty did Ba show West Ham?

He is doing to us what he did to West Ham.
