two more Lens prospects have arrived at United on trials.

Central defensive duo William Remy and Darnel Situ both played in a reserve team friendly at the training ground on Wednesday (see above). 20 year-old Remy and 19 year-old Situ are both French youth internationals.

Newcastle to prepare for Championship
football next season by lower their sights
on transfer targets.
Newcastle scouts spotted at the Gateshead game last night haha.....
Can't wait for Saturday

{Ed042's Note - It is better to stay silent and be thought a fool, than to open one's mouth and remove all doubt.. do you even know why they were there mate?}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

For a friendly res match that happened to night where Both Shane Ferguson and Sylvain Marveaux completed 90 minutes to give Alan Pardew a boost, while the Magpies fielded two trialists in defence, identified by the official website as Darnel Situ and William Remy

{Ed042's Note - Thank you}

Ashley is an out and out buisness man
not interested in the football side of things,
accept for making money.Sell for profit buy cheap young
players bring them on and sell,just like a milking cow.We have to be prepared and accept what is going on,we could go on strike and stay away from St Jameses, that is all we can do but we have to stick together, and we can defeat him.He thinks because we love our football club we wont do it,I say lets play him at his own game.Howay the lads.

Believable2 Unbelievable3

Football is a buisness please tell me how Ashley is making money? Have a good think about it and let me know

Agree0 Disagree0

Mike Ashley has not made a penny out of Newcastle United yet, as much as his policy on running the club frustrates me, spouting rubbish about him just in it to make money, and garbage about the 35 mil going straight into his pocket, maybe it did, no-one knows except the finance guys and Mr Ashley himself, but if it did it was in order to pay off part of the 100 million pound loan he gave the club to keep it solvent, Ashley will only make money if and when the club is sold, from a toon fan with more than 2 brain cells, unlike the majority of toon idiots about

Nicky Maynard scores 2 and misses penalty. For me this guy should be targeted by us. Every time I watch him he always impresses me, he's quick direct scores goals for fun inside and outside the box. He is the type of player who we are crying out for, won't cost the earth and will do a good job for us in my opinion. What u think ed?

{Ed042's Note - I do like Maynard, always hard to say whether a striker can make the step up but he`d be a great option to have when playing two up front}

truth be told we will be luck to bring sumone else in if no movement this week then highly doubt we will sign anyone nd this is the truth because the asking price will just go up as there is less time left to buy and we all know ma will not pay over the odds for players simple

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Ed do u think this will be the case mate

{Ed042's Note - Simple answer mate, No. Thats not generally how it works, especially with players showing a desire to leave their clubs, case and point being Jose Enrique, was valued at £10m plus a month before he went for £5.5m.. it can be the case in certain situations but its not that black and white, based solely on individual deals and circumstances.. deadline day itself is the only day in which this train of thought applies}

Well it looks like Ashley is stripping the club bare
Keep the faith my arse
Wish he would just sell up and piss of
Defended the prat in the past
Clubs becoming a disgrace in the transfer market
Like.to think I am wrong but come deadline day reckon there going to be a lot of sick fans

Believable9 Unbelievable1

If they do not replace Enrique as well, we may as well resign ourselves to Championship football next season.Maybe the pundits had it right after all.

i am sick of this one step forward two steps back approach in the transfer market by pardew and M A its a joke remember last month one of pardews quotes in " in august the signings will come thick and fast " eh hello its the 17th of aug and nowt last week we all thought pieters was in the bag but now its back off time i am thinking now everythink is a smoke screen to run down the clock til where out of time

Believable4 Unbelievable0

He should of just said signings will be thin and slow, even being a mackem I have some sympathy towards you lot, but ashley is a business man at the end of the day, you are paying the price of giving players stupid wages in the past

Agree1 Disagree0

All these so called high wages ,it was fat mike who handed them out smith, xisco, collocini and gutierrez

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed do you think colo and guti would have signed had we offered them 50/60k?

{Ed042's Note - Yes, they both did sign for them wages. Colo 60K Jonas 50K}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed I thought colo was on 80k. If he's on 60k that's not too bad. Don't know why alot of people complain bout it.

{Ed042's Note - He is now, but when he signed he was offered 60K, got the bump on wages to stay with the club post relegation}

Agree0 Disagree0

Cheers ed.

I dont think pieters is a bad player but i would much prefer to see cissokho join for the extra money as he is full of class. What do you think ?

17 Aug 2011 14:10:51
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH Just sign him up (and a striker) already, i am getting sick of waking up every day and seeing we are no closer to signing anyone. Its becoming a joke

It sickens me that once again we are starting the season with Shola Ameobi as one of our starting strikers. I'm sorry but the guy isn't good enough and never has been. He did ok in The championship as that's probably his level. He's slow, clumsy, has poor positional play and injury prone. It shows how this club hasn't gone forward at all the fact that he is still getting a game and a new contract. He wouldn't get in any other teams in the premiership except perhaps newly promoted clubs. Sorry, rant over. Toon Toon.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Completley agree, he manages to score now and again but generally he gives nothing to the game, dont even think he is championship material,because im living in wales at the moment i go to watch cardiff a lot and ive seen lots of players better than Shola

Agree2 Disagree0

Hes due one of his 3 good games a seson at the weekend

U
I have defended MA on here but I am losing any faith I had left.
1. We let Enrique go for 4m less than he was worth.
2. We do not have a replacement lined up
3. We let our promising young replacement for LB go on loan at the same time
4. We identify Pieters and Cissoko yet are stupid enough to think we can get them on the cheap.
5. We see
Ll Carroll for a huge amount with promises to re invest in the side side.
6. Six and a half months later we have replaced him with an ineffective free transfer in Ba and are now scratching around for someone else without being willing to pay the going rate.

I do not blame Pardew, his hands are tied and I am sure he has been lied to just like Kk, Hughton, Shearer by the board but the mis management of the clubs playing staff by the Directors is frankly criminal.

Believable7 Unbelievable0

From Matthew Normans The 101 Most Infuriating Things In Sport : “By any formula comparing fan base and revenue to silverware, Newcastle United is historically the planet’s least successful football club. Apart from headline-grabbing comic mismanagement of the sort so expertly provided by owner Mike Ashley, fake eccentricity is the only means of retaining any interest from a media and public that would otherwise have tired long ago of the club’s grandiose claims to relevance.” Say no more.

{Ed042's Note - Cheers mate.. honest answer, I dont work for the club so couldnt tell you, I would imagine it is because hes young, versatile and can speak french ha em only news of the morning is Forster looking like Celtic move, Pieters deal is in the balance as I said, big 24 hours on that one, Bridge is touted as emergency back up as I thought he would be, and striker deal is anyones guess, Sochaux have said that like we did with JB that theyre going to give Maiga a cooling off period until Friday so if we do pursue him it will drag out into next week}

1 striker who will not be signing for the Toon is Keirrison. He has just signed a 6 month loan deal with Cruzeiro in Brazil.

Also, I noticed Cissokho was playing with Lyon last night in their Champions League qualifier and I think if he was set to leave the club the would have left him out the starting lineup?

I really hope we at least get a left back before Sat, we are leaving it really late

Hey Ed, is Forster going to Celtic permanently or on loan?

{Ed042's Note - Loan deal with set fee to buy by the looks of it, then again they may just match the fee if its not too high, but at the moment, loan}

looks like cissoko has handed in a transfer request hope he comes to newcastle would be a hell of a signing as for the striker dont think we will sign one to be honest alan pardew clearly states we need an injection of pace in the team so why bendtner and this maiga if your going to try and sign someone my 1st person would be loic remy quick good scoring record and french think he is only on 40,000 a week so we could match that easy think he is available for around 12 million euros and has potential profit sell on value need a striker and left back
before saturday

When are yous mags goin 2 realise that just cos yous name a good player doesnt mean he wants 2 cum nd play 4 yous yous are a badly run club who hav no direction so why would they want 2 ?

Agree0 Disagree0

Ruiz scored yesterday for fc twente in qualifier. We should be working to the bone to get this player. Although he's tall hes very quick, he plays as a winger for fc but can play as a striker. Think he scored 9 goals last season from wing position. Wants to try himself in epl. Would cost a bit over ten million but is miles better than the other tall average players we're targeting.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ruiz has scored has 33 goals in 61 appearances for twente in the last season scoring 24 the season before last.
